Cody Cutrer 23ceb19904 actually remove stuff from sessions 
instead of leaving the key with a nil value

test plan:
 * no user visible changes
 * creating a new course, accepting invitations, and
   registering google docs, linked in, and twitter are good places
   to make sure they haven't changed
