Instead of flat schedules, we now use so-called schedule trees to represent the execution order of the statements in a SCoP. Schedule trees make it a lot easier to analyze, understand and modify properties of a schedule, as specific nodes in the tree can be choosen and possibly replaced. This patch does not yet fully move our DependenceInfo pass to schedule trees, as some additional performance analysis is needed here. (In general schedule trees should be faster in compile-time, as the more structured representation is generally easier to analyze and work with). We also can not yet perform the reduction analysis on schedule trees. Polly - Polyhedral optimizations for LLVM ----------------------------------------- http://polly.llvm.org/ Polly uses a mathematical representation, the polyhedral model, to represent and transform loops and other control flow structures. Using an abstract representation it is possible to reason about transformations in a more general way and to use highly optimized linear programming libraries to figure out the optimal loop structure. These transformations can be used to do constant propagation through arrays, remove dead loop iterations, optimize loops for cache locality, optimize arrays, apply advanced automatic parallelization, drive vectorization, or they can be used to do software pipelining.
