Summary: Right now, when we encounter a string equality check, e.g. `if (memcmp(a, b, s) == 0)`, we try to expand to a comparison if `s` is a small compile-time constant, and fall back on calling `memcmp()` else. This is sub-optimal because memcmp has to compute much more than equality. This patch replaces `memcmp(a, b, s) == 0` by `bcmp(a, b, s) == 0` on platforms that support `bcmp`. `bcmp` can be made much more efficient than `memcmp` because equality compare is trivially parallel while lexicographic ordering has a chain dependency. The LLVM Compiler Infrastructure ================================ This directory and its subdirectories contain source code for LLVM, a toolkit for the construction of highly optimized compilers, optimizers, and runtime environments. LLVM is open source software. You may freely distribute it under the terms of the license agreement found in LICENSE.txt. Please see the documentation provided in docs/ for further assistance with LLVM, and in particular docs/GettingStarted.rst for getting started with LLVM and docs/README.txt for an overview of LLVM's documentation setup. If you are writing a package for LLVM, see docs/Packaging.rst for our suggestions.
