isl_val_get_num_si crashes on overflow, so don't use it on arbitrary integers. Testcase only crashes on platforms where long is 32 bits because of the signature of isl_val_get_num_si; not sure if it's possible to write a testcase which crashes if long is 64 bits. There are a few other places in polly which use isl_val_get_num_si; they probably need to be fixed as well. I don't think polly uses any of the other "long" isl APIs in an unsafe manner. Polly - Polyhedral optimizations for LLVM ----------------------------------------- http://polly.llvm.org/ Polly uses a mathematical representation, the polyhedral model, to represent and transform loops and other control flow structures. Using an abstract representation it is possible to reason about transformations in a more general way and to use highly optimized linear programming libraries to figure out the optimal loop structure. These transformations can be used to do constant propagation through arrays, remove dead loop iterations, optimize loops for cache locality, optimize arrays, apply advanced automatic parallelization, drive vectorization, or they can be used to do software pipelining.
