llvm-svn: 326874
Summary:
The setlocale(3) function reloads the ctype(3) arrays from
external files. This happens behind the scenes in the internals
of libc (citrus library, runes functions etc).
ctype(3) functions like isspace(3) can be provided with two
variations on NetBSD: inlined or via a global symbol in libc:
```
#if defined(_NETBSD_SOURCE) && !defined(_CTYPE_NOINLINE) && \
!defined(__cplusplus)
#include <sys/ctype_inline.h>
#else
#include <sys/ctype_bits.h>
#endif
```
The in-lined versions are de-facto array lookup operations.
```
#define isspace(c) ((int)((_ctype_tab_ + 1)[(c)] & _CTYPE_S))
```
After setting setlocale(3) the ctype(3) arrays (_ctype_tab_,
_toupper_tab_, _tolower_tab_) are reload behind the scenes
and they are required to be marked as initialized.
Set them initialized inside the common setlocale(3) interceptor.
The arrays are of size of 257 elements: 0..255 + 1 (EOF).
This corrects errors on NetBSD/amd64 in applications
prebuilt with MSan.

This patch (on top of the previous two (https://reviews.llvm.org/D40898 and
https://reviews.llvm.org/D40899) complete the compiler-rt side of the the Solaris
sanitizer port.
It contains the following sets of changes:
* For the time being, the port is for 32-bit x86 only, so reject the various tests on
x86_64.
* When compiling as C++, <setjmp.h> resp. <iso/setjmp_iso.h> only declares
_setjmp and _longjmp inside namespace std.
* MAP_FILE is a Windows feature. While e.g. Linux <sys/mman.h> provides a
no-op compat define, Solaris does not.
* test/asan/TestCases/Posix/coverage.cc was initially failing like this:
/vol/gcc/src/llvm/llvm/local/projects/compiler-rt/lib/sanitizer_common/scripts/sancov.py: 4 files merged; 2 PCs total
rm: cannot remove '/var/gcc/llvm/local/projects/compiler-rt/test/asan/I386SunOSConfig/TestCases/Posix/Output/coverage': Invalid argument
Further digging revealed that the rm was trying to remove the running test's working
directory which failed as observed. cd'ing out of the dir before let the test pass.
* Two tests needed a declaration of alloca. I've now copied the existing code from
test/asan/TestCases/alloca_constant_size.cc, but it may be more profitable and
maintainable to have a common testsuite header where such code is collected.
* Similarly, Solaris' printf %p format doesn't include the leading 0x.
* In test/asan/TestCases/malloc-no-intercept.c, I had to undef __EXTENSIONS__
(predefined by clang for no apparent reason) to avoid conflicting declarations
for memalign.
* test/ubsan/TestCases/Float/cast-overflow.cpp has different platform dependent
ways to define BYTE_ORDER and friends. Why not just use __BYTE_ORDER__ and
friends as predefined by clang and gcc?

fork a multi-threaded process it's possible to deadlock if some thread acquired
StackDepot or allocator internal lock just before fork. In this case the lock
will never be released in child process causing deadlock on following memory alloc/dealloc
routine. While calling alloc/dealloc routines after multi-threaded fork is not allowed,
most of modern allocators (Glibc, tcmalloc, jemalloc) are actually fork safe. Let's do the same
for sanitizers except TSan that has complex locking rules.

One of the tests relying on sem_t's layout gets the wrong value for versions of
glibc newer than 2.21 on platforms that don't have 64-bit atomics (e.g. ARM).
This commit fixes the test to work with:
* versions of glibc >= 2.21 on platforms with 64-bit atomics: unchanged
* versions of glibc >= 2.21 on platforms without 64-bit atomics: the semaphore
value is shifted by SEM_VALUE_SHIFT (which is set to 1 in glibc's internal
headers)
* versions of glibc < 2.21: unchanged
The logic is complicated a bit by the fact that the sanitizers always pick the
oldest version of the symbol available in glibc, which creates discrepancies
between old platforms which contain several versions od the sem_init symbol, and
newer platforms which contain only one.
See the glibc 2.23 sources:

Fix https://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=27673.
Currenty ASan checks the return value of real recv/recvfrom to see if the written bytes fit in the buffer. That works fine most of time.
However, there is an exception: (from the RECV(2) man page)
MSG_TRUNC (since Linux 2.2)
... return the real length of the packet or datagram, even when it was longer than the passed buffer. ...
Some programs combine MSG_TRUNC, MSG_PEEK and a single-byte buffer to peek the incoming data size without reading (much of) them. In this case,
the return value is usually longer than what's been written and ASan raises a false alarm here. To avoid such false positive reports,
we can use min(res, len) in COMMON_INTERCEPTOR_WRITE_RANGE checks.

At the moment almost every lit.site.cfg.in contains two lines comment:
## Autogenerated by LLVM/Clang configuration.
# Do not edit!
The patch adds variable LIT_SITE_CFG_IN_HEADER, that is replaced from
configure_lit_site_cfg with the note and some useful information.

glibc can use one of 2 layouts for semaphores: architectures that
don't HAVE_64B_ATOMIC use an uint32_t field with semaphore value,
then a private field, then a waiting thread count field - this is
the layout currently assumed by the test. However, HAVE_64B_ATOMIC
arches use a fused uint64_t field that contains the value in low bits
and waiting thread count in high bits, followed by a private field.
This resulted in taking private field from the wrong offset on 64-bit
atomic platforms (the test still passed, but didn't actually test
the private field). On big-endian platforms, this resulted in a fail,
since the first 4 bytes overlay the thread count field, and not
the value field.
Found while porting ASan to s390x.

Summary:
Adds strnlen to the common interceptors, under the existing flag
intercept_strlen.
Removes the now-duplicate strnlen interceptor from asan and msan.
This adds strnlen to tsan, which previously did not intercept it.
Adds a new test of strnlen to the sanitizer_common test cases.

Summary: This is an initial setup in order to move some additional tests from Linux onto Posix.
I also moved decorate_proc_maps onto the Linux directory
Finally added msan's definition for "stable-runtime".
Only a test requires it, and its commit message (r248014) seems to imply
that AArch64 is problematic with MSan.

from ARM.
The ptrace tests is also updated with arm and PTRACE_GETVFPREGS tests.

Old version of sem_init (GLIBC_2.0) fails to initialize parts of
sem_t that are used in sem_timedwait. This is fixed in GLIBC_2.1,
but since ASan interceptors downgrade sem_* to the oldest available
version, this can introduce bugs that are only present in sanitized
build. Workaround by zero-initializing sem_t in sem_init.

This is an implementation of
https://github.com/google/sanitizers/issues/579
It has a number of advantages over the current mapping:
* Works for non-PIE executables.
* Does not require ASLR; as a consequence, debugging MSan programs in
gdb no longer requires "set disable-randomization off".
* Supports linux kernels >=4.1.2.
* The code is marginally faster and smaller.
This is an ABI break. We never really promised ABI stability, but
this patch includes a courtesy escape hatch: a compile-time macro
that reverts back to the old mapping layout.

This patch enabled msan for aarch64 with 39-bit VMA and 42-bit VMA.
As defined by lib/msan/msan.h the memory layout used is for 39-bit is:
00 0000 0000 - 40 0000 0000: invalid
40 0000 0000 - 43 0000 0000: shadow
43 0000 0000 - 46 0000 0000: origin
46 0000 0000 - 55 0000 0000: invalid
55 0000 0000 - 56 0000 0000: app (low)
56 0000 0000 - 70 0000 0000: invalid
70 0000 0000 - 80 0000 0000: app (high)
And for 42-bit VMA:
000 0000 0000 - 100 0000 0000: invalid
100 0000 0000 - 11b 0000 0000: shadow
11b 0000 0000 - 120 0000 0000: invalid
120 0000 0000 - 13b 0000 0000: origin
13b 0000 0000 - 2aa 0000 0000: invalid
2aa 0000 0000 - 2ab 0000 0000: app (low)
2ab 0000 0000 - 3f0 0000 0000: invalid
3f0 0000 0000 - 400 0000 0000: app (high)
Most of tests are passing with exception of:
* Linux/mallinfo.cc
* chained_origin_limits.cc
* dlerror.cc
* param_tls_limit.cc
* signal_stress_test.cc
* nonnull-arg.cpp
The 'Linux/mallinfo.cc' is due the fact AArch64 returns the sret in 'x8'
instead of default first argument 'x1'. So a function prototype that
aims to mimic (by using first argument as the return of function) won't
work. For GCC one can make a register alias (register var asm ("r8")), but
for clang it detects is an unused variable and generate wrong code.
The 'chained_origin_limits' is probably due a wrong code generation,
since it fails only when origin memory is used
(-fsanitize-memory-track-origins=2) and only in the returned code
(return buf[50]).
The 'signal_streess_test' and 'nonnull-arg' are due currently missing variadic
argument handling in memory sanitizer code instrumentation on LLVM side.
Both 'dlerror' and 'param_tls_test' are unknown failures that require
further investigation.
All the failures are XFAIL for aarch64 for now.

There are a number of issues with unit tests on Darwin. These patches address the following:
* Unit tests should be passed -arch (-m32/-m64 isn't sufficient)
* Unit tests should be passed ${DARWIN_osx_CFLAGS} because they're being built for OS X
* Test architectures should be filtered based on base system capabilities (i.e. don't try running x86_64h tests on pre-haswell hardware).

This patch enables asan for aarch64/linux. It marks it as 'unstable-release',
since some tests are failing due either kernel missing support of non-executable
pages in mmap or environment instability (infinite loop in juno reference
boards).
It sets decorate_proc_maps test to require stable-release, since the test expects
the shadow memory to not be executable and the support for aarch64 is only
added recently by Linux (da141706aea52c1a9 - 4.0).
It also XFAIL static_tls test for aarch64 linker may omit the __tls_get_addr call
as a TLS optimization.

Clang will not define __i686__, even when the target triple is i686,
without -march=i686.
With this patch, the compiler-rt build will successfully detect that
Clang can target i686.
The open_memstream.cc test is a little funny. Before my patch, it
was invoked with "-m32 -m64". To make it work after my -march
change, I had to add '-march=x86-64'.

This is done by creating a named shared memory region, unlinking it
and setting up a private (i.e. copy-on-write) mapping of that instead
of a regular anonymous mapping. I've experimented with regular
(sparse) files, but they can not be scaled to the size of MSan shadow
mapping, at least on Linux/X86_64 and ext3 fs.
Controlled by a common flag, decorate_proc_maps, disabled by default.
This patch has a few shortcomings:
* not all mappings are annotated, especially in TSan.
* our handling of memset() of shadow via mmap() puts small anonymous
mappings inside larger named mappings, which looks ugly and can, in
theory, hit the mapping number limit.

Long story short: stop-the-world briefly resets SIGSEGV handler to SIG_DFL.
This breaks programs that handle and continue after SIGSEGV (namely JVM).
See the test and comments for details.
This is reincarnation of reverted r229678 (http://reviews.llvm.org/D7722).
Changed:
- execute TracerThreadDieCallback only on tracer thread
- reset global data in TracerThreadSignalHandler/TracerThreadDieCallback
- handle EINTR from waitpid
Add 3 new test:
- SIGSEGV during leak checking
- StopTheWorld operation during signal storm from an external process
- StopTheWorld operation when the program generates and handles SIGSEGVs

This flag can be used to specify the format of stack frames - user
can now provide a string with placeholders, which should be printed
for each stack frame with placeholders replaced with actual data.
For example "%p" will be replaced by PC, "%s" will be replaced by
the source file name etc.
"DEFAULT" value enforces default stack trace format currently used in
all the sanitizers except TSan.
This change also implements __sanitizer_print_stack_trace interface
function in TSan.

The test refers to user_regs_struct.rip so it can only ever have worked
on x86-64. Put this code inside an appropriate #if, and add a similar
case for PowerPC64. (If we do likewise for ARM we can probably remove
the XFAILs, but I have no way of testing that.)
Those changes are enough to get the test working for me on big-endian
PowerPC64 Fedora 19.
