Richard Smith de21704ba9 CWG2352: Allow qualification conversions during reference binding.
The language wording change forgot to update overload resolution to rank
implicit conversion sequences based on qualification conversions in
reference bindings. The anticipated resolution for that oversight is
implemented here -- we order candidates based on qualification
conversion, not only on top-level cv-qualifiers.

For OpenCL/C++, this allows reference binding between pointers with
differing (nested) address spaces. This makes the behavior of reference
binding consistent with that of implicit pointer conversions, as is the
purpose of this change, but that pre-existing behavior for pointer
conversions is itself probably not correct. In any case, it's now
consistently the same behavior and implemented in only one place.

Richard Smith 3ced23976a Refactor CompareReferenceRelationship and its callers in preparation for
implementing the resolution of CWG2352.

No functionality change, except that we now convert the referent of a
reference binding to the underlying type of the reference in more cases;
we used to happen to preserve the type sugar from the referent if the
only type change was in the cv-qualifiers.

This exposed a bug in how we generate code for trivial assignment
operators: if the type sugar (particularly the may_alias attribute)
got lost during reference binding, we'd use the "wrong" TBAA information
for the load during the assignment.

Amy Huang a85f5efd95 Add support for the MS qualifiers __ptr32, __ptr64, __sptr, __uptr.
Summary:
This adds parsing of the qualifiers __ptr32, __ptr64, __sptr, and __uptr and
lowers them to the corresponding address space pointer for 32-bit and 64-bit pointers.
(32/64-bit pointers added in https://reviews.llvm.org/D69639)

A large part of this patch is making these pointers ignore the address space
when doing things like overloading and casting.

Erich Keane 1ed832e424 Reland [NFC-I] Remove hack for fp-classification builtins
The FP-classification builtins (__builtin_isfinite, etc) use variadic
packs in the definition file to mean an overload set. Because of that,
floats were converted to doubles, which is incorrect. There WAS a patch
to remove the cast after the fact.

THis patch switches these builtins to just be custom type checking,
calls the implicit conversions for the integer members, and makes sure
the correct L->R casts are put into place, then does type checking like
normal.

A future direction (that wouldn't be NFC) would consider making
conversions for the floating point parameter legal.

Note: The initial patch for this missed that certain systems need to
still convert half to float, since they dont' support that type.

Richard Smith eea8ba097c Check whether the destination is a complete type in a static_cast (or
C-style cast) to an enumeration type.

We previously forgot to check this, and happened to get away with it
(with bad diagnostics) only because we misclassified incomplete
enumeration types as not being unscoped enumeration types. This also
fixes the misclassification.

Richard Smith 4b00299958 [c++20] Add deprecation warnings for the expression forms deprecated by P1120R0.
This covers:
 * usual arithmetic conversions (comparisons, arithmetic, conditionals)
   between different enumeration types
 * usual arithmetic conversions between enums and floating-point types
 * comparisons between two operands of array type

The deprecation warnings are on-by-default (in C++20 compilations); it
seems likely that these forms will become ill-formed in C++23, so
warning on them now by default seems wise.

For the first two bullets, off-by-default warnings were also added for
all the cases where we didn't already have warnings (covering language
modes prior to C++20). These warnings are in subgroups of the existing
-Wenum-conversion (except that the first case is not warned on if either
enumeration type is anonymous, consistent with our existing
-Wenum-conversion warnings).

Brian Gesiak 376cf43729 [coroutines][PR41909] Generalize fix from D62550
Summary:
In https://reviews.llvm.org/D62550 @rsmith pointed out that there are
many situations in which a coroutine body statement may be
transformed/rebuilt as part of a template instantiation, and my naive
check whether the coroutine was a generic lambda was insufficient.

This is indeed true, as I've learned by reading more of the
TreeTransform code. Most transformations are written in a way that
doesn't assume the resulting types are not dependent types. So the
assertion in 'TransformCoroutineBodyStmt', that the promise type must no
longer be dependent, is out of place.

This patch removes the assertion, spruces up some code comments, and
adds a test that would have failed with my naive check from
https://reviews.llvm.org/D62550.

Raphael Isemann aa4558497f [clang] Improve LLVM-style RTTI support in ExternalASTSource/ExternalSemaSource
Summary:
We currently have some very basic LLVM-style RTTI support in the ExternalASTSource class hierarchy
based on the `SemaSource` bool( to discriminate it form the ExternalSemaSource). As ExternalASTSource
is supposed to be subclassed we should have extendable LLVM-style RTTI in this class hierarchy to make life easier
for projects building on top of Clang.

Most notably the current RTTI implementation forces LLDB to implement RTTI for its
own ExternalASTSource class (ClangExternalASTSourceCommon) by keeping a global set of
ExternalASTSources that are known to be ClangExternalASTSourceCommon. Projects
using Clang currently have to dosimilar workarounds to get RTTI support for their subclasses.

This patch turns this into full-fledged LLVM-style RTTI based on a static `ID` variable similar to
other LLVM class hierarchies. Also removes the friend declaration from ExternalASTSource to
its child class that was only used to grant access to the `SemaSource` member.

Erich Keane 348f22eac8 Correct gcc vector splat conversion from float to int-vector
In looking into some other code, I came across this issue where a
float converted to a gcc integer vector via a splat causes it to miss
the float-to-integral cast, which causes some REALLY strange codegen
bugs.

The AST looked like:
`-ImplicitCastExpr <col:13>
'gcc_int_2':'__attribute__((__vector_size__(2 * sizeof(int)))) int' <VectorSplat>
        `-ImplicitCastExpr <col:13> 'float' <LValueToRValue>
                  `-DeclRefExpr <col:13> 'float' lvalue ParmVar
                  0x556f16a5dc90 'f' 'float'

Despite the type of the VectorSplat cast as printed, it ended up
becoming a vector of float, which caused non-matching instructions. For
example, IntVector + a float constant resulted in:

add <2 x i32> %8, <2 x float> <float 3.000000e+00, float 3.000000e+00>

This patch corrects the conversion so that the float is first converted
to an integral, THEN splatted.

Yonghong Song d77ae1552f [DebugInfo] Support to emit debugInfo for extern variables
Extern variable usage in BPF is different from traditional
pure user space application. Recent discussion in linux bpf
mailing list has two use cases where debug info types are
required to use extern variables:
  - extern types are required to have a suitable interface
    in libbpf (bpf loader) to provide kernel config parameters
    to bpf programs.
    https://lore.kernel.org/bpf/CAEf4BzYCNo5GeVGMhp3fhysQ=_axAf=23PtwaZs-yAyafmXC9g@mail.gmail.com/T/#t
  - extern types are required so kernel bpf verifier can
    verify program which uses external functions more precisely.
    This will make later link with actual external function no
    need to reverify.
    https://lore.kernel.org/bpf/87eez4odqp.fsf@toke.dk/T/#m8d5c3e87ffe7f2764e02d722cb0d8cbc136880ed

This patch added clang support to emit debuginfo for extern variables
with a TargetInfo hook to enable it. The debuginfo for the
extern variable is emitted only if that extern variable is
referenced in the current compilation unit.

Currently, only BPF target enables to generate debug info for
extern variables. The emission of such debuginfo is disabled for C++
 at this moment since BPF only supports a subset of C language.
Emission with C++ can be enabled later if an appropriate use case
is identified.

-fstandalone-debug permits us to see more debuginfo with the cost
of bloated binary size. This patch did not add emission of extern
variable debug info with -fstandalone-debug. This can be
re-evaluated if there is a real need.

Jonas Hahnfeld 071dca24ce [OpenMP] Require trivially copyable type for mapping
A trivially copyable type provides a trivial copy constructor and a trivial
copy assignment operator. This is enough for the runtime to memcpy the data
to the device. Additionally there must be no virtual functions or virtual
base classes and the destructor is guaranteed to be trivial, ie performs
no action.
The runtime does not require trivial default constructors because on alloc
the memory is undefined. Thus, weaken the warning to be only issued if the
mapped type is not trivially copyable.

This commit sets the Self and Imp declarations for ObjC method declarations,
in addition to the definitions. It also fixes
a bunch of code in clang that had wrong assumptions about when getSelfDecl() would be set:

- CGDebugInfo::getObjCMethodName and AnalysisConsumer::getFunctionName would assume that it was
  set for method declarations part of a protocol, which they never were,
  and that self would be a Class type, which it isn't as it is id for a protocol.

Also use the Canonical Decl to index the set of Direct methods so that
when calls and implementations interleave, the same llvm::Function is
used and the same symbol name emitted.

Hans Wennborg 92ce2aff68 Actually delay processing DelayedDllExportClasses until the outermost class is finished (PR40006)
This was already the intention of DelayedDllExportClasses, but code such as
this would break it:

template<typename> struct Tmpl {};
struct Outer {
    struct Inner {
        __declspec(dllexport) Inner() = default;
        unsigned int x = 0;
    };
    Tmpl<Inner> y;
};

ActOnFinishCXXNonNestedClass() would get called when the instantiation of
Templ<Inner> is finished, even though the compiler is still not finished with
Outer, causing the compile fail.

This hooks into Sema::{Push,Pop}ParsingClass() to avoid calling
ActOnFinishCXXNonNestedClass() for template instantiations while a class is
being parsed.

Elizabeth Andrews 878a24ee24 Reapply "Fix crash on switch conditions of non-integer types in templates"
This patch reapplies commit 759948467e. Patch was reverted due to a
clang-tidy test fail on Windows. The test has been modified. There
are no additional code changes.

Patch was tested with ninja check-all on Windows and Linux.

Summary of code changes:

Clang currently crashes for switch statements inside a template when the
condition is a non-integer field member because contextual implicit
conversion is skipped when parsing the condition. This conversion is
however later checked in an assert when the case statement is handled.
The conversion is skipped when parsing the condition because
the field member is set as type-dependent based on its containing class.
This patch sets the type dependency based on the field's type instead.

This patch fixes Bug 40982.

Mariya Podchishchaeva c094e7dc4b [SYCL] Add sycl_kernel attribute for accelerated code outlining
SYCL is single source offload programming model relying on compiler to
separate device code (i.e. offloaded to an accelerator) from the code
executed on the host.

Here is code example of the SYCL program to demonstrate compiler
outlining work:

```
int foo(int x) { return ++x; }
int bar(int x) { throw std::exception("CPU code only!"); }
...
using namespace cl::sycl;
queue Q;
buffer<int, 1> a(range<1>{1024});
Q.submit([&](handler& cgh) {
  auto A = a.get_access<access::mode::write>(cgh);
  cgh.parallel_for<init_a>(range<1>{1024}, [=](id<1> index) {
    A[index] = index[0] + foo(42);
  });
}
...
```

SYCL device compiler must compile lambda expression passed to
cl::sycl::handler::parallel_for method and function foo called from this
lambda expression for an "accelerator". SYCL device compiler also must
ignore bar function as it's not required for offloaded code execution.

This patch adds the sycl_kernel attribute, which is used to mark code
passed to cl::sycl::handler::parallel_for as "accelerated code".

Attribute must be applied to function templates which parameters include
at least "kernel name" and "kernel function object". These parameters
will be used to establish an ABI between the host application and
offloaded part.

Partial revert of r372681 "Support for DWARF-5 C++ language tags".

The change introduced new external linkage languages ("C++11" and

It also changed the definition of the existing enum to use the DWARF
constants. The problem is that "LinkageSpecDeclBits.Language" (the field
that reserves this enum) is actually defined as 3 bits length
(bitfield), which cannot contain the new DWARF constants. Defining the
enum as integer literals is more appropriate for maintaining valid
values.

Vedant Kumar 568db780bb [CGDebugInfo] Emit subprograms for decls when AT_tail_call is understood (reland with fixes)
Currently, clang emits subprograms for declared functions when the
target debugger or DWARF standard is known to support entry values
(DW_OP_entry_value & the GNU equivalent).

Treat DW_AT_tail_call the same way to allow debuggers to follow cross-TU
tail calls.

Pre-patch debug session with a cross-TU tail call:

```
  * frame #0: 0x0000000100000fa4 main`target at b.c:4:3 [opt]
    frame #1: 0x0000000100000f99 main`main at a.c:8:10 [opt]
```

Post-patch (note that the tail-calling frame, "helper", is visible):

```
  * frame #0: 0x0000000100000fa4 main`target at b.c:4:3 [opt]
    frame #1: 0x0000000100000f80 main`helper [opt] [artificial]
    frame #2: 0x0000000100000f99 main`main at a.c:8:10 [opt]
```

This was reverted in 5b9a072c because it attached declaration
subprograms to inlinable builtin calls, which interacted badly with the
MergeICmps pass. The fix is to not attach declarations to builtins.

Pierre Habouzit d4e1ba3fa9 Implement __attribute__((objc_direct)), __attribute__((objc_direct_members))
__attribute__((objc_direct)) is an attribute on methods declaration, and
__attribute__((objc_direct_members)) on implementation, categories or
extensions.

A `direct` property specifier is added (@property(direct) type name)

These attributes / specifiers cause the method to have no associated
Objective-C metadata (for the property or the method itself), and the
calling convention to be a direct C function call.

The symbol for the method has enforced hidden visibility and such direct
calls are hence unreachable cross image. An explicit C function must be
made if so desired to wrap them.

The implicit `self` and `_cmd` arguments are preserved, however to
maintain compatibility with the usual `objc_msgSend` semantics,
3 fundamental precautions are taken:

1) for instance methods, `self` is nil-checked. On arm64 backends this
   typically adds a single instruction (cbz x0, <closest-ret>) to the
   codegen, for the vast majority of the cases when the return type is a
   scalar.

2) for class methods, because the class may not be realized/initialized
   yet, a call to `[self self]` is emitted. When the proper deployment
   target is used, this is optimized to `objc_opt_self(self)`.

   However, long term we might want to emit something better that the
   optimizer can reason about. When inlining kicks in, these calls
   aren't optimized away as the optimizer has no idea that a single call
   is really necessary.

3) the calling convention for the `_cmd` argument is changed: the caller
   leaves the second argument to the call undefined, and the selector is
   loaded inside the body when it's referenced only.

As far as error reporting goes, the compiler refuses:
- making any overloads direct,
- making an overload of a direct method,
- implementations marked as direct when the declaration in the
  interface isn't (the other way around is allowed, as the direct
  attribute is inherited from the declaration),
- marking methods required for protocol conformance as direct,
- messaging an unqualified `id` with a direct method,
- forming any @selector() expression with only direct selectors.

As warnings:
- any inconsistency of direct-related calling convention when
  @selector() or messaging is used,
- forming any @selector() expression with a possibly direct selector.

Lastly an `objc_direct_members` attribute is added that can decorate
`@implementation` blocks and causes methods only declared there (and in
no `@interface`) to be automatically direct. When decorating an
`@interface` then all methods and properties declared in this block are
marked direct.

Yonghong Song 4e2ce228ae [BPF] Add preserve_access_index attribute for record definition
This is a resubmission for the previous reverted commit
9434360401 with the same subject. This commit fixed the
segfault issue and addressed additional review comments.

This patch introduced a new bpf specific attribute which can
be added to struct or union definition. For example,
  struct s { ... } __attribute__((preserve_access_index));
  union u { ... } __attribute__((preserve_access_index));
The goal is to simplify user codes for cases
where preserve access index happens for certain struct/union,
so user does not need to use clang __builtin_preserve_access_index
for every members.

The attribute has no effect if -g is not specified.

When the attribute is specified and -g is specified, any member
access defined by that structure or union, including array subscript
access and inner records, will be preserved through
  __builtin_preserve_{array,struct,union}_access_index()
IR intrinsics, which will enable relocation generation
in bpf backend.

The following is an example to illustrate the usage:
  -bash-4.4$ cat t.c
  #define __reloc__ __attribute__((preserve_access_index))
  struct s1 {
    int c;
  } __reloc__;

  struct s2 {
    union {
      struct s1 b[3];
    };
  } __reloc__;

  struct s3 {
    struct s2 a;
  } __reloc__;

  int test(struct s3 *arg) {
    return arg->a.b[2].c;
  }
  -bash-4.4$ clang -target bpf -g -S -O2 t.c

A relocation with access string "0:0:0:0:2:0" will be generated
representing access offset of arg->a.b[2].c.

forward declaration with attribute is also handled properly such
that the attribute is copied and populated in real record definition.

Leonard Chan e278c138a9 [Sema] Add MacroQualified case for FunctionTypeUnwrapper

```
//clang -cc1 -triple x86_64-- -S tstVMStructRC-min.cpp
int (a b)();  // Assertion `Chunk.Kind == DeclaratorChunk::Function' failed.
```

This is because we do not cover the case in the FunctionTypeUnwrapper where it
receives a MacroQualifiedType. We have not run into this earlier because this
is a unique case where the __attribute__ contains both __cdecl__ and
__regparm__ (in that order), and we are compiling for x86_64. Changing the
architecture or the order of __cdecl__ and __regparm__ does not raise the
assertion.

Melanie Blower 759948467e Reapply "Fix crash on switch conditions of non-integer types in templates"
This patch reapplies commit 76945821b9. The first version broke
buildbots due to clang-tidy test fails. The fails are because some
errors in templates are now diagnosed earlier (does not wait till
instantiation). I have modified the tests to add checks for these
diagnostics/prevent these diagnostics. There are no additional code
changes.

This patch is motivated by (and factored out from)
https://reviews.llvm.org/D66121 which is a debug info bugfix. Starting
with DWARF 5 all Objective-C methods are nested inside their
containing type, and that patch implements this for synthesized
Objective-C properties.

1. SemaObjCProperty populates a list of synthesized accessors that may
   need to inserted into an ObjCImplDecl.

2. SemaDeclObjC::ActOnEnd inserts forward-declarations for all
   accessors for which no override was provided into their
   ObjCImplDecl. This patch does *not* synthesize AST function
   *bodies*. Moving that code from the static analyzer into Sema may
   be a good idea though.

3. Places that expect all methods to have bodies have been updated.

I did not update the static analyzer's inliner for synthesized
properties to point back to the property declaration (see
test/Analysis/Inputs/expected-plists/nullability-notes.m.plist), which
I believed to be more bug than a feature.

Simon Tatham 08074cc965 [clang,ARM] Initial ACLE intrinsics for MVE.
This commit sets up the infrastructure for auto-generating <arm_mve.h>
and doing clang-side code generation for the builtins it relies on,
and demonstrates that it works by implementing a representative sample
of the ACLE intrinsics, more or less matching the ones introduced in
LLVM IR by D67158,D68699,D68700.

Like NEON, that header file will provide a set of vector types like
uint16x8_t and C functions with names like vaddq_u32(). Unlike NEON,
the ACLE spec for <arm_mve.h> includes a polymorphism system, so that
you can write plain vaddq() and disambiguate by the vector types you
pass to it.

Unlike the corresponding NEON code, I've arranged to make every user-
facing ACLE intrinsic into a clang builtin, and implement all the code
generation inside clang. So <arm_mve.h> itself contains nothing but
typedefs and function declarations, with the latter all using the new
`__attribute__((__clang_builtin))` system to arrange that the user-
facing function names correspond to the right internal BuiltinIDs.

So the new MveEmitter tablegen system specifies the full sequence of
IRBuilder operations that each user-facing ACLE intrinsic should
translate into. Where possible, the ACLE intrinsics map to standard IR
operations such as vector-typed `add` and `fadd`; where no standard
representation exists, I call down to the sample IR intrinsics
introduced in an earlier commit.

Doing it like this means that you get the polymorphism for free just
by using __attribute__((overloadable)): the clang overload resolution
decides which function declaration is the relevant one, and _then_ its
BuiltinID is looked up, so by the time we're doing code generation,
that's all been resolved by the standard system. It also means that
you get really nice error messages if the user passes the wrong
combination of types: clang will show the declarations from the header
file and explain why each one doesn't match.

(The obvious alternative approach would be to have wrapper functions
in <arm_mve.h> which pass their arguments to the underlying builtins.
But that doesn't work in the case where one of the arguments has to be
a constant integer: the wrapper function can't pass the constantness
through. So you'd have to do that case using a macro instead, and then
use C11 `_Generic` to handle the polymorphism. Then you have to add
horrible workarounds because `_Generic` requires even the untaken
branches to type-check successfully, and //then// if the user gets the
types wrong, the error message is totally unreadable!)

Simon Tatham 7c11da0cfd [clang] New __attribute__((__clang_arm_mve_alias)).
This allows you to declare a function with a name of your choice (say
`foo`), but have clang treat it as if it were a builtin function (say
`__builtin_foo`), by writing

  static __inline__ __attribute__((__clang_arm_mve_alias(__builtin_foo)))
  int foo(args);

I'm intending to use this for the ACLE intrinsics for MVE, which have
to be polymorphic on their argument types and also need to be
implemented by builtins. To avoid having to implement the polymorphism
with several layers of nested _Generic and make error reporting
hideous, I want to make all the user-facing intrinsics correspond
directly to clang builtins, so that after clang resolves
__attribute__((overloadable)) polymorphism it's already holding the
right BuiltinID for the intrinsic it selected.

However, this commit itself just introduces the new attribute, and
doesn't use it for anything.

To avoid unanticipated side effects if this attribute is used to make
aliases to other builtins, there's a restriction mechanism: only
(BuiltinID, alias) pairs that are approved by the function
ArmMveAliasValid() will be permitted. At present, that function
doesn't permit anything, because the Tablegen that will generate its
list of valid pairs isn't yet implemented. So the only test of this
facility is one that checks that an unapproved builtin _can't_ be
aliased.

Michael Liao 243ebfba17 [hip][cuda] Fix the extended lambda name mangling issue.
Summary:
- HIP/CUDA host side needs to use device kernel symbol name to match the
  device side binaries. Without a consistent naming between host- and
  device-side compilations, it's risky that wrong device binaries are
  executed. Consistent naming is usually not an issue until unnamed
  types are used, especially the lambda. In this patch, the consistent
  name mangling is addressed for the extended lambdas, i.e. the lambdas
  annotated with `__device__`.
- In [Itanium C++ ABI][1], the mangling of the lambda is generally
  unspecified unless, in certain cases, ODR rule is required to ensure
  consisent naming cross TUs. The extended lambda is such a case as its
  name may be part of a device kernel function, e.g., the extended
  lambda is used as a template argument and etc. Thus, we need to force
  ODR for extended lambdas as they are referenced in both device- and
  host-side TUs. Furthermore, if a extended lambda is nested in other
  (extended or not) lambdas, those lambdas are required to follow ODR
  naming as well. This patch revises the current lambda mangle numbering
  to force ODR from an extended lambda to all its parent lambdas.
- On the other side, the aforementioned ODR naming should not change
  those lambdas' original linkages, i.e., we cannot replace the original
  `internal` with `linkonce_odr`; otherwise, we may violate ODR in
  general. This patch introduces a new field `HasKnownInternalLinkage`
  in lambda data to decouple the current linkage calculation based on
  mangling number assigned.

is correctly diagnosed with an incompatible-pointer-types warning, but

incompatible pointer conversions generally become an error in C++.

This patch fixes that oversight, allowing implicit conversions

Note that this does change some behaviors in Objective-C, as well, as
shown by the modified tests.

Of particular note is that assignment from from 'Class<MyProtocol>' to
