properties of the protocol it inherits
This fixes a bug where the type string for a @dynamic property of an
@implementation didn't have 'D' in it when the protocol it conforms to
redeclares the property declared in the base protocol.
rdar://problem/45503561
Because the name of a direct method must be agreed upon by the caller
and the implementation, certain bad practices that one can get away with
when using dynamism are fatal with direct methods.
To avoid really weird and unscruttable linker error, tighten the
front-end error reporting.
Rule 1:
Direct methods can only have at most one declaration in an @interface
container. Any redeclaration is strictly forbidden.
Today some amount of redeclaration is tolerated between the main
interface and categories for dynamic methods, but we can't have that.
Rule 2:
Direct method implementations can only be declared in a matching
@interface container: when implemented in the primary @implementation
then the declaration must be in the primary @interface or an
extension, and when implemented in a category, the declaration must be
in the @interface for the same category.
Also fix another issue with ObjCMethod::getCanonicalDecl(): when an
implementation lives in the primary @interface, then its canonical
declaration can be in any extension, even when it's not an accessor.
Add Sema tests to cover the new errors, and CG tests to beef up testing
around function names for categories and extensions.

Summary:
With DWARF5 it is no longer possible to distinguish normal methods and methods with `__attribute__((objc_direct))` by just looking at the debug information
as they are both now children of the of the DW_TAG_structure_type that defines them (before only the `__attribute__((objc_direct))` methods were children).
This means that in LLDB we are no longer able to create a correct Clang AST of a module by just looking at the debug information. Instead we would
need to call the Objective-C runtime to see which of the methods have a `__attribute__((objc_direct))` and then add the attribute to our own Clang AST
depending on what the runtime returns. This would mean that we either let the module AST be dependent on the Objective-C runtime (which doesn't
seem right) or we retroactively add the missing attribute to the imported AST in our expressions.
A third option is to annotate methods with `__attribute__((objc_direct))` as `DW_AT_APPLE_objc_direct` which is what this patch implements. This way
LLDB doesn't have to call the runtime for any `__attribute__((objc_direct))` method and the AST in our module will already be correct when we create it.

in addition to the definitions. It also fixes
a bunch of code in clang that had wrong assumptions about when getSelfDecl() would be set:
- CGDebugInfo::getObjCMethodName and AnalysisConsumer::getFunctionName would assume that it was
set for method declarations part of a protocol, which they never were,
and that self would be a Class type, which it isn't as it is id for a protocol.
Also use the Canonical Decl to index the set of Direct methods so that
when calls and implementations interleave, the same llvm::Function is

__attribute__((objc_direct)) is an attribute on methods declaration, and
__attribute__((objc_direct_members)) on implementation, categories or
extensions.
A `direct` property specifier is added (@property(direct) type name)
These attributes / specifiers cause the method to have no associated
Objective-C metadata (for the property or the method itself), and the
calling convention to be a direct C function call.
The symbol for the method has enforced hidden visibility and such direct
calls are hence unreachable cross image. An explicit C function must be
made if so desired to wrap them.
The implicit `self` and `_cmd` arguments are preserved, however to
maintain compatibility with the usual `objc_msgSend` semantics,
3 fundamental precautions are taken:
1) for instance methods, `self` is nil-checked. On arm64 backends this
typically adds a single instruction (cbz x0, <closest-ret>) to the
codegen, for the vast majority of the cases when the return type is a
scalar.
2) for class methods, because the class may not be realized/initialized
yet, a call to `[self self]` is emitted. When the proper deployment
target is used, this is optimized to `objc_opt_self(self)`.
However, long term we might want to emit something better that the
optimizer can reason about. When inlining kicks in, these calls
aren't optimized away as the optimizer has no idea that a single call
is really necessary.
3) the calling convention for the `_cmd` argument is changed: the caller
leaves the second argument to the call undefined, and the selector is
loaded inside the body when it's referenced only.
As far as error reporting goes, the compiler refuses:
- making any overloads direct,
- making an overload of a direct method,
- implementations marked as direct when the declaration in the
interface isn't (the other way around is allowed, as the direct
attribute is inherited from the declaration),
- marking methods required for protocol conformance as direct,
- messaging an unqualified `id` with a direct method,
- forming any @selector() expression with only direct selectors.
As warnings:
- any inconsistency of direct-related calling convention when
@selector() or messaging is used,
- forming any @selector() expression with a possibly direct selector.
Lastly an `objc_direct_members` attribute is added that can decorate
`@implementation` blocks and causes methods only declared there (and in
no `@interface`) to be automatically direct. When decorating an
`@interface` then all methods and properties declared in this block are
marked direct.

This has the nice side-effect of also fixing a crash in Clang.
Starting with DWARF 5 we are emitting ObjC method declarations as
children of their containing entity. This worked for interfaces, but
didn't consider the case of synthessized properties. When a property
of a protocol is synthesized in an interface implementation the
ObjCMethodDecl that was passed to CGF::StartFunction was the property
*declaration* which obviously couldn't have a containing
interface. This patch passes the containing interface all the way
through to CGDebugInfo, so the function declaration can be created

https://reviews.llvm.org/D66121 which is a debug info bugfix. Starting
with DWARF 5 all Objective-C methods are nested inside their
containing type, and that patch implements this for synthesized
Objective-C properties.
1. SemaObjCProperty populates a list of synthesized accessors that may
need to inserted into an ObjCImplDecl.
2. SemaDeclObjC::ActOnEnd inserts forward-declarations for all
accessors for which no override was provided into their
ObjCImplDecl. This patch does *not* synthesize AST function
*bodies*. Moving that code from the static analyzer into Sema may
be a good idea though.
3. Places that expect all methods to have bodies have been updated.

This patch adds the SVE built-in types defined by the Procedure Call
Standard for the Arm Architecture:
https://developer.arm.com/docs/100986/0000
It handles the types in all relevant places that deal with built-in types.
At the moment, some of these places bail out with an error, including:
(1) trying to generate LLVM IR for the types
(2) trying to generate debug info for the types
(3) trying to mangle the types using the Microsoft C++ ABI
(4) trying to @encode the types in Objective C
(1) and (2) are fixed by follow-on patches but (unlike this patch)
they deal mostly with target-specific LLVM details, so seemed like
a logically separate change. There is currently no spec for (3) and
(4), so reporting an error seems like the correct behaviour for now.
The intention is that the types will become sizeless types:
http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/cfe-dev/2019-June/062523.html
The main purpose of the sizeless type extension is to diagnose
impossible or dangerous uses of the types, such as any that would
require sizeof to have a meaningful defined value.
Until then, the patch sets the alignments of the types to the values
specified in the link above. It also sets the sizes of the types to
zero, which is chosen to be consistently wrong and shouldn't affect
correctly-written code (i.e. code that would compile even with the
sizeless type extension).
The patch adds the common subset of functionality needed to test the
sizeless type extension on the one hand and to provide SVE intrinsic
functions on the other. After this patch, the two pieces of work are
essentially independent.

Swift requires certain classes to be not just initialized lazily on first
use, but actually allocated lazily using information that is only available
at runtime. This is incompatible with ObjC class initialization, or at least
not efficiently compatible, because there is no meaningful class symbol
that can be put in a class-ref variable at load time. This leaves ObjC
code unable to access such classes, which is undesirable.
objc_class_stub says that class references should be resolved by calling
a new ObjC runtime function with a pointer to a new "class stub" structure.
Non-ObjC compilers (like Swift) can simply emit this structure when ObjC
interop is required for a class that cannot be statically allocated,
then apply this attribute to the `@interface` in the generated ObjC header
for the class.
This attribute can be thought of as a generalization of the existing
`objc_runtime_visible` attribute which permits more efficient class
resolution as well as supporting the additon of categories to the class.
Subclassing these classes from ObjC is currently not allowed.

Prior to r349952, clang used to call objc_msgSend when sending a release

to optimize this case, we should fix APValue so it can store simple
arrays more efficiently, like llvm::ConstantDataArray. This shouldn't
affect the memory usage for other string literals. (Not sure if this is
a blocker; I don't think string literal init is common enough for this
to be a serious issue, but I could be wrong.)
The change to test/CodeGenObjC/encode-test.m is a weird side-effect of
these changes: we currently don't constant-evaluate arrays in C, so the
strlen call shouldn't be folded, but lvalue string init managed to get
around that check. I this this is fine.

Some of these functions take some extraneous arguments, e.g. EltSize,
Offset, which are computable from the Type and DataLayout.
Add some asserts to ensure that the computed values are consistent
with the passed-in values, in preparation for eliminating the
extraneous arguments. This also asserts that the Type is an Array for
the calls named "Array" and a Struct for the calls named "Struct".
Then, correct a couple of errors:
1. Using CreateStructGEP on an array type. (this causes the majority
of the test differences, as struct GEPs are created with i32
indices, while array GEPs are created with i64 indices)
2. Passing the wrong Offset to CreateStructGEP in TargetInfo.cpp on
x86-64 NACL (which uses 32-bit pointers).

edge cases.
Currently, EmitCall emits a call instruction with a function type
derived from the pointee-type of the callee. This *should* be the same
as the type created from the CallInfo parameter, but in some cases an
incorrect CallInfo was being passed.
All of these fixes were discovered by the addition of the assert in
EmitCall which verifies that the passed-in CallInfo matches the
Callee's function type.
As far as I know, these issues caused no bugs at the moment, as the
correct types were ultimately being emitted. But, some would become
problematic when pointee types are removed.
List of fixes:
* arrangeCXXConstructorCall was passing an incorrect value for the
number of Required args, when calling an inheriting constructor
where the inherited constructor is variadic. (The inheriting
constructor doesn't actually get passed any of the user's args, but
the code was calculating it as if it did).
* arrangeFreeFunctionLikeCall was not including the count of the
pass_object_size arguments in the count of required args.
* OpenCL uses other address spaces for the "this" pointer. However,
commonEmitCXXMemberOrOperatorCall was not annotating the address
space on the "this" argument of the call.
* Destructor calls were being created with EmitCXXMemberOrOperatorCall
instead of EmitCXXDestructorCall in a few places. This was a problem
because the calling convention sometimes has destructors returning
"this" rather than void, and the latter function knows about that,
and sets up the types properly (through calling
arrangeCXXStructorDeclaration), while the former does not.
* generateObjCGetterBody: the 'objc_getProperty' function returns type
'id', but was being called as if it returned the particular
property's type. (That is of course the *dynamic* return type, and
there's a downcast immediately after.)
* OpenMP user-defined reduction functions (#pragma omp declare
reduction) can be called with a subclass of the declared type. In
such case, the call was being setup as if the function had been
actually declared to take the subtype, rather than the base type.

Summary:
This attribute will allow users to opt specific functions out of
speculative load hardening. This compliments the Clang attribute
named speculative_load_hardening. When this attribute or the attribute
speculative_load_hardening is used in combination with the flags
-mno-speculative-load-hardening or -mspeculative-load-hardening,
the function level attribute will override the default during LLVM IR
generation. For example, in the case, where the flag opposes the
function attribute, the function attribute will take precendence.
The sticky inlining behavior of the speculative_load_hardening attribute
may cause a function with the no_speculative_load_hardening attribute
to be tagged with the speculative_load_hardening tag in
subsequent compiler phases which is desired behavior since the
speculative_load_hardening LLVM attribute is designed to be maximally
conservative.
If both attributes are specified for a function, then an error will be
thrown.

This attribute, called "objc_externally_retained", exposes clang's
notion of pseudo-__strong variables in ARC. Pseudo-strong variables
"borrow" their initializer, meaning that they don't retain/release
it, instead assuming that someone else is keeping their value alive.
If a function is annotated with this attribute, implicitly strong
parameters of that function aren't implicitly retained/released in
the function body, and are implicitly const. This is useful to expose
for performance reasons, most functions don't need the extra safety
of the retain/release, so programmers can opt out as needed.
This attribute can also apply to declarations of local variables,

Clang emits invalid protocol metadata when a @protocol expression is used with a
forward-declared protocol. The protocol metadata is missing protocol conformance
list of the protocol since we don't have access to the definition of it in the

metadata when linking which will lead to incorrect runtime protocol conformance
checks.
This commit makes sure that Clang fails to compile code that uses a @protocol

As brought up during the discussion of the DWARF5 accelerator tables,
there is currently no way to associate Objective-C methods with the
interface they belong to, other than the .apple_objc accelerator table.
After due consideration we came to the conclusion that it makes more
sense to follow Pavel's suggestion of just emitting this information in
the .debug_info section. One concern was that categories were
emitted in the .apple_names as well, but it turns out that LLDB doesn't
rely on the accelerator tables for this information.
This patch changes the codegen behavior to emit subprograms for
structure types, like we do for C++. This will result in the
DW_TAG_subprogram being nested as a child under its
DW_TAG_structure_type. This behavior is only enabled for DWARF5 and
later, so we can have a unique code path in LLDB with regards to
obtaining the class methods.
This was tested on the LLDB side and doesn't lead to a regression.
There's already code in place to deal with member functions in C++,

These symbols are supposed to be preserved even by the linker. Use the
`llvm.used` to ensure that the symbols are not removed by DCE in the
linker. This should be a no-op change on MachO since the symbols are
annotated as `no_dead_strip`.

Summary:
Upstream LLVM is changing the the prototypes of the @llvm.memcpy/memmove/memset
intrinsics. This change updates the Clang tests for this change.
The @llvm.memcpy/memmove/memset intrinsics currently have an explicit argument
which is required to be a constant integer. It represents the alignment of the
dest (and source), and so must be the minimum of the actual alignment of the
two.
This change removes the alignment argument in favour of placing the alignment
attribute on the source and destination pointers of the memory intrinsic call.
For example, code which used to read:
call void @llvm.memcpy.p0i8.p0i8.i32(i8* %dest, i8* %src, i32 100, i32 4, i1 false)
will now read
call void @llvm.memcpy.p0i8.p0i8.i32(i8* align 4 %dest, i8* align 4 %src, i32 100, i1 false)
At this time the source and destination alignments must be the same (Step 1).
Step 2 of the change, to be landed shortly, will relax that contraint and allow
the source and destination to have different alignments.

There is no way to apply sanitizer suppressions to ObjC blocks. A
reasonable default is to have blocks inherit their parent's sanitizer
options.

This also clarifies some terminology used by the diagnostic (methods -> Objective-C methods, fields -> non-static data members, etc).
Many of the tests needed to be updated in multiple places for the diagnostic wording tweaks. The first instance of the diagnostic for that attribute is fully specified and subsequent instances cut off the complete list (to make it easier if additional subjects are added in the future for the attribute).

The object is provided by the objc runtime and is never visible in the
module itself, but even so, the address point we compute points into it,
and "+16" is guaranteed not to overflow.
This matches the c++ vtable IRGen.
Note that I'm not entirely convinced the 'i8*' type is correct here: at
the IR level, we're accessing memory that's outside the global object.
But we don't control the allocation, so it's not obviously wrong either.
But either way, this is only in a global initializer, so I don't think
it's going to be mucked with. Filed PR35352 to discuss that.

Fixes an assertion failure when ivar is a struct containing incomplete
array. Also completes support for direct flexible array members.

Instead of only setting a non-zero debug location on the return
instruction in *_helper_block functions, set a proper location on all
instructions within these functions. Pick the start location of the
block literal expr for maximum clarity.
The debugger does not step into *_helper_block functions during normal
single-stepping because we mark their parameters as artificial. This is
what we want (the functions are implicitly generated and uninteresting
to most users). The stepping behavior is unchanged by this patch.

The exisiting code goes out of its way to put block parameters into an
alloca only at -O0, and then describes the funciton argument with a
dbg.declare, which is undocumented in the LLVM-CFE contract and does
not actually behave as intended after LLVM r642022.
This patch just generates the alloca unconditionally, the mem2reg pass
will eliminate it at -O1 and up anyway and points the dbg.declare to
the alloca as intended (which mem2reg will then correctly rewrite into
a dbg.value).
This reapplies r316684 with some dead code removed.

attribute rather than the ivar itself as the dll storage is associated
to the interface decl not the ivar decl.

ARCReclaimReturnedObject cast.
This is a follow-up to r314370.
Rather than throwing away the enclosing parentheses, this commit walks
down the expression until an ARCReclaimReturnedObject cast is found and
removes just the cast, preserving the syntactic sugar expressions
(parens and casts) that were visited up to that point.
