With the conversion between StringRef and std::string now being

cases, we can make reasonable assumptions and carry on. This patch does
exactly that. In the case of length problems, the approach of "assume
stated length is correct" is taken which means the offset might need
adjusting.

During extraction, stale llvm.assume handles may be retained in the
original function. The setup is:
1) CodeExtractor unregisters assumptions in the blocks that are to be
extracted.
2) Extraction happens. There are now two functions: f1 and f1.extracted.
3) Leftover assumptions in f1 (/not/ removed as they were not in the set of
blocks to be extracted) now have affected-value llvm.assume handles in
f1.extracted.
When assumptions for a value used in f1 are looked up, ValueTracking can assert
as some of the handles are in the wrong function. To fix this, simply erase the
llvm.assume calls in the extracted function.
Alternatives include flushing the assumption cache in the original function, or
walking all values used in the original function to prune stale affected-value
handles. Both seem more expensive.
Testing: check-llvm, LNT run with -mllvm -hot-cold-split enabled

This is how it should've been and brings it more in line with
std::string_view. There should be no functional change here.
This is mostly mechanical from a custom clang-tidy check, with a lot of
manual fixups. It uncovers a lot of minor inefficiencies.

This makes the types almost seamlessly interchangeable in C++17
codebases. Eventually we want to replace StringRef with the standard
type, but that requires C++17 being the default and a huge refactoring
job as StringRef has a lot more functionality.

It is possible to try to keep parsing a debug line program even when the
length of an extended opcode does not match what is expected for that
opcode. This patch changes what was previously a fatal error to be
non-fatal. The parser now continues by assuming the the claimed length
is correct, even if it means moving the offset backwards.

StringMap.h is very popular (4K uses), and it doesn't need to see
BumpPtrAllocator, which is relatively expensive according to
ClangBuildAnalyzer. StringMap only needs MallocAllocator, so split that
into AllocatorBase.h and use it instead.

Teach the GISelKnowBits analysis how to deal with PHI operations.
PHIs are essentially COPYs happening on edges, so we can just reuse
the code for COPY.
This is NFC COPY-wise has we leave Depth untouched when calling
computeKnownBitsImpl for COPYs, like it was before this patch.
Increasing Depth is however required for PHIs as they may loop back to
themselves and we would end up in an infinite loop if we were not
increasing Depth.

Summary:
This patch is part of a patch series to add support for FileCheck
numeric expressions. This specific patch adds support for selecting a
matching format to match a numeric value against (ie. decimal, hex lower
case letters or hex upper case letters).
This commit allows to select what format a numeric value should be
matched against. The following formats are supported: decimal value,
lower case hex value and upper case hex value. Matching formats impact
both the format of numeric value to be matched as well as the format of
accepted numbers in a definition with empty numeric expression
constraint.
Default for absence of format is decimal value unless the numeric
expression constraint is non null and use a variable in which case the
format is the one used to define that variable. Conclict of format in
case of several variable being used is diagnosed and forces the user to
select a matching format explicitely.
This commit also enables immediates in numeric expressions to be in any
radix known to StringRef's GetAsInteger method, except for legacy
numeric expressions (ie [[@LINE+<offset>]] which only support decimal
immediates.

The existing unit tests cover a wide variety of reading TBD files but
lack coverages on the writing side. Case in point is the macCatalyst
case which we're able to read, but not write.

In case of loops with multiple exit where all-but-one exit are deoptimizing
it might happen that the first rotation will end up with latch having a deoptimizing
exit. This makes the loop unsuitable for trip-count analysis (say, getLoopEstimatedTripCount)
as well as for loop transformations that know how to handle multple deoptimizing exits.
It pretty much means that canonical form in multple-deoptimizing-exits case should be
with non-deoptimizing exit at latch.
Teach loop-rotation to reach this canonical form by repeating rotation.
-loop-rotate-multi option introduced to control this behavior, currently disabled by default.

Summary:
In NEON, the immediate forms of VBIC and VORR are each represented as
a single MC instruction, which takes its immediate operand already
encoded in a NEON-friendly format: 8 data bits, plus some control bits
indicating how to expand them into a full vector.
In MVE, we represented immediate VBIC and VORR as four separate MC
instructions each, for an 8-bit immediate shifted left by 0, 8, 16 or
24 bits. For each one, the value of the immediate operand is in the
'natural' form, i.e. the numerical value that would actually be BICed
or ORRed into each vector lane (and also the same value shown in
assembly). For example, MVE_VBICIZ16v4i32 takes an operand such as
0xab0000, which NEON would represent as 0xab | (control bits << 8).
The MVE approach is superficially nice (it makes assembly input and
output easy, and it's also nice if you're manually constructing
immediate VBICs). But it turns out that it's better for isel if we
make the NEON and MVE instructions work the same, because the
ARMISD::VBICIMM and VORRIMM node types already encode their immediate
into the NEON format, so it's easier if we can just use it.
Also, this commit reduces the total amount of code rather than
increasing it, which is surely an indication that it really is simpler
to do it this way!

It adds tests for valid and some invalid cases. More checks and

The current m_APInt() and m_APFloat() matchers do not accept splats
that include undefs (unlike m_Zero() and other matchers for specific
values). We can't simply change the default behavior, as there are
existing transforms that would not be safe with undefs.
For this reason, I'm introducing new m_APIntAllowUndef() and
m_APFloatAllowUndef() matchers, that allow splats with undefs.
Additionally, m_APIntForbidUndef() and m_APFloatForbidUndef() are
added. These have the same behavior as the existing m_APInt() and
m_APFloat(), but serve as an explicit indication that undefs were
considered and found unsound for this transform. This helps
distinguish them from existing uses of m_APInt() where we do not
know whether undefs can or cannot be allowed without additional review.

The hasSideEffect parameter is usually automatically inferred from
instruction patterns. For some of our MVE instructions, we do not have
patterns though, such as for the pre/post inc loads and stores. This
instead specifies the flag manually on the base MVE_VLDRSTR_base
tablegen class, making sure we get this correct.
This can help with scheduling multiple loads more optimally. Here I've
added a unittest as a more direct form of testing.

We previously had to guard against older MSVC and GCC versions which had rvalue
references but not support for marking functions with ref qualifiers. However,
having bumped our minimum required version to MSVC 2017 and GCC 5.1 mean we can
unconditionally enable this feature. Rather than keeping the macro around, this
replaces use of the macro with the actual ref qualifier.

Right now when picking a back-to-back instruction at random, we might select
instructions that we do not know how to handle.

This commit adds a ManglingOptions struct to IRMaterializationUnit, and replaces
IRCompileLayer::CompileFunction with a new IRCompileLayer::IRCompiler class. The
ManglingOptions struct defines the emulated-TLS state (via a bool member,
EmulatedTLS, which is true if emulated-TLS is enabled and false otherwise). The
IRCompileLayer::IRCompiler class wraps an IRCompiler (the same way that the
CompileFunction typedef used to), but adds a method to return the
IRCompileLayer::ManglingOptions that the compiler will use.
These changes allow us to correctly determine the symbols that will be produced
when a thread local global variable defined at the IR level is compiled with or
without emulated TLS. This is required for ORCv2, where MaterializationUnits
must declare their interface up-front.
Most ORCv2 clients should not require any changes. Clients writing custom IR
compilers will need to wrap their compiler in an IRCompileLayer::IRCompiler,
rather than an IRCompileLayer::CompileFunction, however this should be a
straightforward change (see modifications to CompileUtils.* in this patch for an
example).

The NaNs (the string "nan" or "NaN") may be prefixed with 's' or 'S' for defining a Signaling NaN.

The addition of `inverse_throughput` mode highlighted the disjointedness
of snippet generators and benchmark runners because it used the
`UopsSnippetGenerator` with the `LatencyBenchmarkRunner`.
To keep the code consistent tie the snippet generators to
parallelization/serialization rather than their benchmark runners.

The DW_AT_LLVM_sysroot attribute is used for Clang module debug info,
to allow LLDB to import a Clang module from source. Currently it is
part of each DW_TAG_module, however, it is the same for all modules in
a compile unit. It is more efficient and less ambiguous to store it
once in the DW_TAG_compile_unit.
This should have no effect on DWARF consumers other than LLDB.

This is a purely cosmetic change that is NFC in terms of the binary
output. I bugs me that I called the attribute DW_AT_LLVM_isysroot
since the "i" is an artifact of GCC command line option syntax
(-isysroot is in the category of -i options) and doesn't carry any
useful information otherwise.

Remove unused link components for PowerPC target unittest according
to post commit comments. This is a redo for a previous commit
"fc4e43ad618b" that removed a few components that are necessary
when libraries are to be built shared (i.e., BUILD_SHARED_LIBS=ON).
Add all previous link components back to unblock bots for the moment.
In the meantime, I'm investigating the BUILD_SHARED_LIBS=ON build to
find out the minimal list of components needed.

This is (more?) usable by GDB pretty printers and seems nicer to write.
There's one tricky caveat that in C++14 (LLVM's codebase today) the
static constexpr member declaration is not a definition - so odr use of
this constant requires an out of line definition, which won't be
provided (that'd make all these trait classes more annoyidng/expensive
to maintain). But the use of this constant in the library implementation
is/should always be in a non-odr context - only two unit tests needed to
be touched to cope with this/avoid odr using these constants.

We lifted this code from InstCombine for general usage in:

...but it's not safe as-is. There are no existing users that can
trigger this bug, but I discovered it via crashing several
regression tests when trying to use it for select folding in
InstSimplify.
ICmp requires (vector) integer types, so give up on anything that's
not integer or FP (pointers and ?) then bitcast the constants
before trying the match. That matches the definition of "equal or
undef" that I was looking for. If someone wants an FP-aware version
of equality (deal with NaN, -0.0), that could be a different mode
or different function.

A bug in the existing implementation meant that lazyReexports would not work if
the aliased name differed from the alias's name, i.e. all lazy reexports had to
be of the form (lib1, name) -> (lib2, name). This patch fixes the issue by
capturing the alias's name in the NotifyResolved callback. To simplify this
capture, and the LazyCallThroughManager code in general, the NotifyResolved
callback is updated to use llvm::unique_function rather than a custom class.
No test case yet: This can only be tested at runtime, and the only in-tree
client (lli) always uses aliases with matching names. I will add a new LLJIT
example shortly that will directly test the lazyReexports API and the
non-trivial alias use case.

For builds with LLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB=ON and BUILD_SHARED_LIBS=OFF
this change makes all symbols in the target specific libraries hidden
by default.
A new macro called LLVM_EXTERNAL_VISIBILITY has been added to mark symbols in these
libraries public, which is mainly needed for the definitions of the
LLVMInitialize* functions.
This patch reduces the number of public symbols in libLLVM.so by about
25%. This should improve load times for the dynamic library and also
make abi checker tools, like abidiff require less memory when analyzing
libLLVM.so
One side-effect of this change is that for builds with
LLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB=ON and LLVM_LINK_LLVM_DYLIB=ON some unittests that
access symbols that are no longer public will need to be statically linked.

There's only one user of this API currently, and it seems
impossible that it would compare values with different types.
But that's not true in general, so we need to make sure the
types are the same.
As denoted by the FIXME comments, we will also crash on FP
values. That's what brought me here, but we can make that a
follow-up patch.
A warning is sent because `std::distance()` returns a signed type so
`CmpHelperEQ()` gets instantiated into a function that compares
differently signed arguments.

We have a whitelist of instructions that we allow when tail
predicating, since these are trivial ones that we've deemed need no
special handling. Now change ARMLowOverheadLoops to allow the
non-trivial instructions if they're contained within a valid VPT
block. Since a valid block is one that is predicated upon the VCTP so
we know that these non-trivial instructions will still behave as
expected once the implicit predication is used instead.

readPrefixes() assumes insn->bytes is non-empty. The code path is not
exercised in llvm-mc because llvm-mc does not feed empty input to
MCDisassembler::getInstruction().

This patch adds a new size function to the base DataExtractor class,
which removes the need for the DWARFDataExtractor size function.
It is unclear why DWARFDataExtractor's size function returned zero in
some circumstances (i.e. when it is constructed without a section, and
with a different data source instead), so that behaviour has changed.
The old behaviour could cause an assertion in the debug line parser, as
the size did not reflect the actual data available, and could be lower
than the current offset being parsed.

This patch allows for handling a failure inside a CrashRecoveryContext in the same way as the global exception/signal handler. A failure will have the same side-effect, such as cleanup of temporarty file, printing callstack, calling relevant signal handlers, and finally returning an exception code. This is an optional feature, disabled by default.

Teach SCEV about the @loop.decrement.reg intrinsic, which has exactly the same
semantics as a sub expression. This allows us to query hardware-loops, which
contain this @loop.decrement.reg intrinsic, so that we can calculate iteration
counts, exit values, etc. of hardwareloops.
This "int_loop_decrement_reg" intrinsic is defined as "IntrNoDuplicate". Thus,
while hardware-loops and tripcounts now become analysable by SCEV, this
prevents the usual loop transformations from applying transformations on
hardware-loops, which is what we want at this point, for which I have added
test cases for loopunrolling and IndVarSimplify and LFTR.

`APFLoat::convertFromString` returns `Expected` result, which must be
"checked" if the LLVM_ENABLE_ABI_BREAKING_CHECKS preprocessor flag is
set.
To mark an `Expected` result as "checked" we must consume the `Error`
within.
In many cases, we are only interested in knowing if an error occured,
without the need to examine the error info. This is achieved, easily,
with the `errorToBool()` API.

Apple's CPUs are called A7-A13 in official communication, occasionally with
weird suffixes which we probably don't need to care about. This adds each one
and describes its features. It also switches the default CPU to the canonical
name for Cyclone, but leaves legacy support in so that existing bitcode still
compiles.
If the claimed unit length of a debug line program is such that the line
table would finish past the end of the .debug_line section, an infinite
loop occurs because the data extractor will continue to "read" zeroes
without changing the offset. This previously didn't hit an error because
the line table program handles a series of zeroes as a bad extended
opcode.
This patch fixes the inifinite loop and adds a warning if the program
doesn't fit in the available data.

Up until now, the arguments to `fusedMultiplyAdd` are passed by
reference. We must save the `Addend` value on the beginning of the
function, before we modify `this`, as they may be the same reference.
To fix this, we now pass the `addend` parameter of `multiplySignificand`
by value (instead of by-ref), and have a default value of zero.

zlib is enabled or not. This simplifies the CMake handling and usage in

Previously, the polly unit tests were stuck in a infinite loop.
There was an edge case in StringRef::count() introduced by 9f6b13e5cc, where an empty 'Str' would cause the function to never exit.
Also fixed usage in polly.
This allows to use the OpenMPIRBuilder for parallel regions. Code was
extracted from D61953 and adapted to work with the new version (D70109).
All but one feature should be supported. An update of this patch will
provide test coverage and privatization other than shared.

An `omp cancel parallel` needs to be emitted by the OpenMPIRBuilder if
the `parallel` was emitted by the OpenMPIRBuilder. This patch makes
this possible. The cancel logic is shared with the cancel barriers.
Testing is done via unit tests and the clang cancel_codegen.cpp file
once D70290 lands.

As a permanent and generic solution to the problem of variable
finalization (destructors, lastprivate, ...), this patch introduces the
finalization stack. The objects on the stack describe (1) the
(structured) regions the OpenMP-IR-Builder is currently constructing,
(2) if these are cancellable, and (3) the callback that will perform the
finalization (=cleanup) when necessary.
As the finalization can be necessary multiple times, at different source
locations, the callback takes the position at which code is currently
generated. This position will also encode the destination of the "region
exit" block *iff* the finalization call was issues for a region
generated by the OpenMPIRBuilder. For regions generated through the old
Clang OpenMP code geneneration, the "region exit" is determined by Clang
inside the finalization call instead (see getOMPCancelDestination).
As a first user, the parallel + cancel barrier interaction is changed.
In contrast to the temporary solution before, the barrier generation in
Clang does not need to be aware of the "CancelDestination" block.
Instead, the finalization callback is and, as described above, later
even that one does not need to be.
D70109 will be updated to use this scheme.

I added Krzysztof Parzyszek to review this change because a use of this function in HexagonInstrInfo::getInlineAsmLength might depend on the overlapping-behavior. I don't have enough domain knowledge to tell if this change could break anything there.
All other uses of this method in LLVM (besides the unit tests) only use single-character search strings. In those cases, search occurrences can not overlap anyway.

This is a purely cosmetic change that is NFC in terms of the binary
output. I bugs me that I called the attribute DW_AT_LLVM_isysroot
since the "i" is an artifact of GCC command line option syntax
(-isysroot is in the category of -i options) and doesn't carry any
useful information otherwise.
This attribute only appears in Clang module debug info.

Remappings involving extern "C" names were already supported in the
context of <local-name>s, but this support didn't work for remapping the
complete mangling itself. (Eg, we would remap X<foo> but not foo itself,
if foo is an extern "C" function.)

Legalization algorithm is complicated by two facts:
1) While regular instructions should be possible to legalize in
an isolated, per-instruction, context-free manner, legalization
artifacts can only be eliminated in pairs, which could be deeply, and
ultimately arbitrary nested: { [ () ] }, where which paranthesis kind
depicts an artifact kind, like extend, unmerge, etc. Such structure
can only be fully eliminated by simple local combines if they are
attempted in a particular order (inside out), or alternatively by
repeated scans each eliminating only one innermost pair, resulting in
O(n^2) complexity.
2) Some artifacts might in fact be regular instructions that could (and
sometimes should) be legalized by the target-specific rules. Which
means failure to eliminate all artifacts on the first iteration is
not a failure, they need to be tried as instructions, which may
produce more artifacts, including the ones that are in fact regular
instructions, resulting in a non-constant number of iterations
required to finish the process.
I trust the recently introduced termination condition (no new artifacts
were created during as-a-regular-instruction-retrial of artifacts not
eliminated on the previous iteration) to be efficient in providing
termination, but only performing the legalization in full if and only if
at each step such chains of artifacts are successfully eliminated in
full as well.
Which is currently not guaranteed, as the artifact combines are applied
only once and in an arbitrary order that has to do with the order of
creation or insertion of artifacts into their worklist, which is a no
particular order.
In this patch I make a small change to the artifact combiner, making it
to re-insert into the worklist immediate (modulo a look-through copies)
artifact users of each vreg that changes its definition due to an
artifact combine.
Here the first scan through the artifacts worklist, while not
being done in any guaranteed order, only needs to find the innermost
pair(s) of artifacts that could be immediately combined out. After that
the process follows def-use chains, making them shorter at each step, thus
combining everything that can be combined in O(n) time.

We've been marking VPT incompatible instructions as invalid for tail
predication too, though this may not strictly be true. VPT are

This patch renames the LoopInfo::isRotated() method to LoopInfo::isRotatedForm()
to make it clear that the method checks whether the loop is in rotated form, not
whether the loop has been rotated by the LoopRotation pass.
This has two main effects:
- Optimizes debug info size by saving 221.86 MB of obj file size in a
Windows optimized+debug build of 'all'. This is 3.03% of 7,332.7MB of
object file size.
- Incremental step towards decoupling target intrinsics.
The enums are still compact, so adding and removing a single
target-specific intrinsic will trigger a rebuild of all of LLVM.
Assigning distinct target id spaces is potential future work.

Fixes issue encountered in D56362, where I tried to use a
SmallSetVector<Instruction*, 128> with an excessively large number
of inline elements. This triggers an "Must allocate more buckets
than are inline" assertion inside allocateBuckets() under certain
usage patterns.
The issue is as follows: The grow() method is used either to grow
the map, or to rehash it and remove tombstones. The latter is done
if the fraction of empty (non-used, non-tombstone) elements is
below 1/8. In this case grow() is invoked with the current number
of buckets.
This is currently incorrectly handled for dense maps using the small
rep. The current implementation will switch them over to the large
rep, which violates the invariant that the large rep is only used
if there are more than InlineBuckets buckets.
This patch fixes the issue by staying in the small rep and only
moving the buckets. An alternative, if we do want to switch to the
large rep in this case, would be to relax the assertion in
allocateBuckets().

This is the initial patch for the OpenMP-IR-Builder, as discussed on the
mailing list ([1] and later) and at the US Dev Meeting'19.
The design is similar to D61953 but:
- in a non-WIP status, with proper documentation and working.
- using a OpenMPKinds.def file to manage lists of directives, runtime
functions, types, ..., similar to the current Clang implementation.
- restricted to handle only (simple) barriers, to implement most
`#pragma omp barrier` directives and most implicit barriers.
- properly hooked into Clang to be used if possible (D69922).
- compatible with the remaining code generation.
Parts have been extracted into D69853.
The plan is to have multiple people working on moving logic from Clang
here once the initial scaffolding (=this patch) landed.

The Isa register is a uint8_t, but at least on Windows this is
internally an unsigned char, which meant that prior to this patch it got
formatted as an ASCII character, rather than a decimal number. This
patch fixes this by casting it to a uint64_t before printing. I did it
this way instead of using a uint8_t formatter because a) it is simpler,
and b) it allows us to change the internal type of Isa in the future
without this code breaking.
I also took the opportunity to test the printing of the other standard
opcodes.

In this patch the VFDatabase is used to bridge the TargetLibraryInfo
(TLI) calls that were previously used to query for the availability of
vector counterparts of scalar functions.
The VFISAKind field `ISA` of VFShape have been moved into into VFInfo,
under the assumption that different vector ISAs may provide the same
vector signature. At the moment, the vectorizer accepts any of the
available ISAs as long as the signature provided by the VFDatabase
matches the one expected in the vectorization process. For example,
when targeting AVX or AVX2, which both have 256-bit registers, the IR
signature of the two vector functions associated to the two ISAs is
the same. The `getVectorizedFunction` method at the moment returns the
first available match. We will need to add more heuristics to the
search system to decide which of the available version (TLI, AVX,
AVX2, ...) the system should prefer, when multiple versions with the
same VFShape are present.

[*] Notice that in the proposal the VFDatabase was called SVFS. The

Extern variable usage in BPF is different from traditional
pure user space application. Recent discussion in linux bpf
mailing list has two use cases where debug info types are
required to use extern variables:
- extern types are required to have a suitable interface
in libbpf (bpf loader) to provide kernel config parameters
to bpf programs.

This patch added clang support to emit debuginfo for extern variables
with a TargetInfo hook to enable it. The debuginfo for the
extern variable is emitted only if that extern variable is
referenced in the current compilation unit.
Currently, only BPF target enables to generate debug info for
extern variables. The emission of such debuginfo is disabled for C++
at this moment since BPF only supports a subset of C language.
Emission with C++ can be enabled later if an appropriate use case
is identified.
-fstandalone-debug permits us to see more debuginfo with the cost
of bloated binary size. This patch did not add emission of extern
variable debug info with -fstandalone-debug. This can be
re-evaluated if there is a real need.

Implement LWG#1203 (https://cplusplus.github.io/LWG/issue1203) for raw_ostream
like libc++ does for std::basic_ostream<...>.
Add a operator<< overload that takes an rvalue reference of a typed derived from
raw_ostream, streams the value to it and returns the stream of the same type as
the argument.
This allows free operator<< to work with rvalue reference raw_ostreams:
raw_ostream& operator<<(raw_ostream&, const SomeType& Value);
raw_os_ostream(std::cout) << SomeType();
It also allows using the derived type like:

It appears that the cl::bits options are not used anywhere in-tree. In
the recent addition to add Callback's to the options, the Callback was
missing from this one. This fixes it by adding the same code from the
other classes.
It also adds a simple test, of sorts, just to make sure these continue
compiling.
AssumptionCache can be null in SimplifyCFGOptions. However, FoldCondBranchOnPHI() was not properly handling that when passing a null AssumptionCache to simplifyCFG.

Add a new cl::callback attribute to Option.
This attribute specifies a callback function that is called when
an option is seen, and can be used to set other options, as in
option A implies option B. If the option is a `cl::list`, and
`cl::CommaSeparated` is also specified, the callback will fire
once for each value. This could be used to validate combinations
or selectively set other options.

Summary:
The immediate forms of the MVE VQSHL instruction have MC names like
`MVE_VSLIimms8` and `MVE_VSLIimmu32`. Those names are confusing,
because VSLI is a completely different shift instruction with no
semantic relation to VQSHL. But it just happens to be defined
immediately before VQSHL in `ARMInstrMVE.td`, so this looks like a
copy-paste error. Renamed the ids to match the instruction name.

InnerLoopVectorizer's code called during VPlan execution still relies on
original IR's def-use relations to decide which vector code to generate,
limiting VPlan transformations ability to modify def-use relations and still
have ILV generate the vector code.
This commit moves GEP operand queries controlling how GEPs are widened to a
dedicated recipe and extracts GEP widening code to its own ILV method taking
those recorded decisions as arguments. This reduces ingredient def-use usage by
ILV as a step towards full VPlan-based def-use relations.

Summary:
Lookup functions are designed to not fully decode a FunctionInfo, LineTable or InlineInfo, they decode only what is needed into a LookupResult object. This allows lookups to avoid costly memory allocations and avoid parsing large amounts of information one a suitable match is found.
LookupResult objects contain the address that was looked up, the concrete function address range, the name of the concrete function, and a list of source locations. One for each inline function, and one for the concrete function. This allows one address to turn into multiple frames and improves the signal you get when symbolicating addresses in GSYM files.

Summary:
This patch introduces an API to build and modify vector shapes.
The validity of a VFShape can be checked with the
`hasValidParameterList` method, which is also run in an assertion each
time a VFShape is modified.
The field VFISAKind has been moved to VFInfo under the assumption that
different ISAs can map to the same VFShape (as it can be in the case
of vector extensions with the same registers size, for example AVX and
AVX2).

Revise the coverage mapping format to reduce binary size by:
1. Naming function records and marking them `linkonce_odr`, and
2. Compressing filenames.
This shrinks the size of llc's coverage segment by 82% (334MB -> 62MB)
and speeds up end-to-end single-threaded report generation by 10%. For
reference the compressed name data in llc is 81MB (__llvm_prf_names).
Rationale for changes to the format:
- With the current format, most coverage function records are discarded.
E.g., more than 97% of the records in llc are *duplicate* placeholders
for functions visible-but-not-used in TUs. Placeholders *are* used to
show under-covered functions, but duplicate placeholders waste space.
- We reached general consensus about giving (1) a try at the 2017 code
coverage BoF [1]. The thinking was that using `linkonce_odr` to merge
duplicates is simpler than alternatives like teaching build systems
about a coverage-aware database/module/etc on the side.
- Revising the format is expensive due to the backwards compatibility
requirement, so we might as well compress filenames while we're at it.
This shrinks the encoded filenames in llc by 86% (12MB -> 1.6MB).

Constructor invocations such as `APFloat(APFloat::IEEEdouble(), 0.0)`
may seem like they accept a FP (floating point) value, but the overload
they reach is actually the `integerPart` one, not a `float` or `double`
overload (which only exists when `fltSemantics` isn't passed).
This may lead to possible loss of data, by the conversion from `float`
or `double` to `integerPart`.
To prevent future mistakes, a new constructor overload, which accepts
any FP value and marked with `delete`, to prevent its usage.

As it can be seen from accompanying cleanup, it is not unheard of
to write `~Known.Zero` meaning "what maximal value can this KnownBits
produce". But i think `~Known.Zero` isn't *that* self-explanatory,
as compared to a method with a name.
Note that not all `~Known.Zero` places were cleaned up,
only those where this arguably improves things.
The DebugVariable class is a class declared in LiveDebugValues.cpp which
is used to uniquely identify a single variable, using its source
variable, inline location, and fragment info to do so. This patch moves
this class into DebugInfoMetadata.h, making it available in a much
broader scope.
Summary: Also adds a test to the pattern matching unit tests.

This patch substantially updates ORCv2's lookup API in order to support weak
references, and to better support static archives. Key changes:
-- Each symbol being looked for is now associated with a SymbolLookupFlags
value. If the associated value is SymbolLookupFlags::RequiredSymbol then
the symbol must be defined in one of the JITDylibs being searched (or be
able to be generated in one of these JITDylibs via an attached definition
generator) or the lookup will fail with an error. If the associated value is
SymbolLookupFlags::WeaklyReferencedSymbol then the symbol is permitted to be
undefined, in which case it will simply not appear in the resulting
SymbolMap if the rest of the lookup succeeds.
Since lookup now requires these flags for each symbol, the lookup method now
takes an instance of a new SymbolLookupSet type rather than a SymbolNameSet.
SymbolLookupSet is a vector-backed set of (name, flags) pairs. Clients are
responsible for ensuring that the set property (i.e. unique elements) holds,
though this is usually simple and SymbolLookupSet provides convenience
methods to support this.
-- Lookups now have an associated LookupKind value, which is either
LookupKind::Static or LookupKind::DLSym. Definition generators can inspect
the lookup kind when determining whether or not to generate new definitions.
The StaticLibraryDefinitionGenerator is updated to only pull in new objects
from the archive if the lookup kind is Static. This allows lookup to be
re-used to emulate dlsym for JIT'd symbols without pulling in new objects
from archives (which would not happen in a normal dlsym call).
-- JITLink is updated to allow externals to be assigned weak linkage, and
weak externals now use the SymbolLookupFlags::WeaklyReferencedSymbol value
for lookups. Unresolved weak references will be assigned the default value of
zero.
Since this patch was modifying the lookup API anyway, it alo replaces all of the
"MatchNonExported" boolean arguments with a "JITDylibLookupFlags" enum for
readability. If a JITDylib's associated value is
JITDylibLookupFlags::MatchExportedSymbolsOnly then the lookup will only
match against exported (non-hidden) symbols in that JITDylib. If a JITDylib's
associated value is JITDylibLookupFlags::MatchAllSymbols then the lookup will
match against any symbol defined in the JITDylib.
GCC 8 implements -fmacro-prefix-map. Like -fdebug-prefix-map, it replaces a string prefix for the __FILE__ macro.

DIExpressions with shift operators should not be fragmented for the same
reason as arithmetic operators: carry over cannot be expressed from one

Static helper function rewriteDebugUsers in Local.cpp deletes dbg.value
intrinsics when it cannot move or rewrite them, or salvage the deleted
instruction's value. It should instead undef them in this case.
This patch fixes that and I've added a test which covers the failing test
case in bz40648. I've updated the unit test Local.ReplaceAllDbgUsesWith
to check for this behaviour (and fixed a typo in the test which would
cause the old test to always pass).

Summary:Added an API to check if an instruction can be safely moved
before another instruction. In future PRs, we will like to add support
of moving instructions between blocks that are not control flow
equivalent, and add other APIs to enhance usability, e.g. moving basic
blocks, moving list of instructions...
Loop Fusion will be its first user. When there is intervening code in
between two loops, fusion is currently unable to fuse them. Loop Fusion
can use this utility to check if the intervening code can be safely
moved before or after the two loops, and move them, then it can
successfully fuse them.

Enlarge the size of ExponentType from 16bit integer to 32bit. This is
required to prevent exponent overflow/underflow.
Note that IEEEFloat size and alignment don't change in 64bit or 32bit
compilation targets (and in turn, neither does APFloat).

With updates to various LLVM tools that use SpecialCastList.
It was tempting to use RealFileSystem as the default, but that makes it
too easy to accidentally forget passing VFS in clang code.
This recommits 089c0f5814, which was
reverted due to failing tests on big endian machines. It includes a fix
which I believe (I don't have BE machine) should fix this issue. The fix
consists of correcting the invocation DWARFYAML::EmitDebugSections,
which was missing one (default) function arguments, and so didn't
actually force the little-endian mode.

Enumerations that describe rounding mode and exception behavior were
defined inside ConstrainedFPIntrinsic. It makes sense to use the same
definitions to represent the same properties in other cases, not only
in constrained intrinsics. It was however inconvenient as required to
include constrained intrinsics definitions even if they were not needed.
Also using long scope prefix reduced readability.
This change moves these definitioins to the namespace llvm::fp.
No functional changes.

Cleanup handling of the denormal-fp-math attribute. Consolidate places
checking the allowed names in one place.
This is in preparation for introducing FP type specific variants of
the denormal-fp-mode attribute. AMDGPU will switch to using this in
place of the current hacky use of subtarget features for the denormal
mode.
Introduce a new header for dealing with FP modes. The constrained
intrinsic classes define related enums that should also be moved into
this header for uses in other contexts.
The verifier could use a check to make sure the denorm-fp-mode
attribute is sane, but there currently isn't one.
Currently, DAGCombiner incorrectly asssumes non-IEEE behavior by
default in the one current user. Clang must be taught to start
emitting this attribute by default to avoid regressions when this is
switched to assume ieee behavior if the attribute isn't present.
This patch modifies ARMLowOverheadLoops to convert a predicated
vector low-overhead loop into a tail-predicatd one. This is currently
a very basic conversion, with the following restrictions:
- Operates only on single block loops.
- The loop can only contain a single vctp instruction.
- No other instructions can write to the vpr.
- We only allow a subset of the mve instructions in the loop.
TODO: Pass the number of elements, not the number of iterations to
dlstp/wlstp.

drop_begin depends on adl_begin/adl_end, which are defined in STLExtras.h,
but we can't just #include STLExtras.h in iterator_range.h as that would
introduce a circular reference (STLExtras.h already depends on
iterator_range.h). The simplest solution is to move drop_begin into
STLExtras.h, which is a reasonable home for it anyway.

This patch adds a custom ISA for vector functions for internal use
in LLVM. The <isa> token is set to "_LLVM_", and it is not attached
to any specific instruction Vector ISA, or Vector Function ABI.
The ISA is used as a token for handling Vector Function ABI-style
vectorization for those vector functions that are not directly
associated to any existing Vector Function ABI (for example, some of
the vector functions exposed by TargetLibraryInfo). The demangling
function for this ISA in a Vector Function ABI context is set to be
the same as the common one shared between X86 and AArch64.

* Add inline to the helper functions because gcc-9 won't inline all of
them without the hint. I've avoided `__attribute__((always_inline))`
because gcc and clang will inline without it, and improves
compatibility.
* Replace the byte-by-byte copy in update() with endian::readbe32()
since perf reports that 1/2 of the time is spent copying into the
buffer before this patch.
When lld uses --build-id=sha1 it spends 30-45% of CPU in SHA1 depending on the binary (not wall-time since it is parallel). This patch speeds up SHA1 by a factor of 2 on clang-8 and 3 on gcc-6. This leads to a >10% improvement in overall linking time.
lld-speed-test benchmarks run on an Intel i9-9900k with Turbo disabled on CPU 0 compiled with clang-9. Stats recorded with `perf stat -r 5`. All inputs are using `--build-id=sha1`.

This recommits 11ed1c0239 (reverted in
9f08ce0d21 for failing an assert) with a fix:
tryToWidenMemory() now first checks if the widening decision is to interleave,
thus maintaining previous behavior where tryToInterleaveMemory() was called
first, giving priority to interleave decisions over widening/scalarization. This
commit adds the test case that exposed this bug as a LIT.
Summary:
This patch adds Pi Blocks to the DDG. A pi-block represents a group of DDG
nodes that are part of a strongly-connected component of the graph.
Replacing all the SCCs with pi-blocks results in an acyclic representation
of the DDG. For example if we have:
{a -> b}, {b -> c, d}, {c -> a}
the cycle a -> b -> c -> a is abstracted into a pi-block "p" as follows:
{p -> d} with "p" containing: {a -> b}, {b -> c}, {c -> a}
In this implementation the edges between nodes that are part of the pi-block
are preserved. The crossing edges (edges where one end of the edge is in the
set of nodes belonging to an SCC and the other end is outside that set) are
replaced with corresponding edges to/from the pi-block node instead.

These are precise as far as i can tell.
I initially though i will need `APInt::[us]mul_sat()` for these,
but it turned out much simpler to do what `ConstantRange::multiply()`
does - perform multiplication in twice the bitwidth, and then truncate.
Though here we want saturating signed truncation.

Summary: This patch fixes a number of bugs found in the YAML parser
through fuzzing. In general, this makes the parser more robust against
malformed inputs.
The fixes are mostly improved null checking and returning errors in
more cases. In some cases, asserts were changed to regular errors,
this provides the same robustness but also protects release builds
from the triggering conditions. This also improves the fuzzability of
the YAML parser since asserts can act as a roadblock to further
fuzzing once they're hit.
Each fix has a corresponding test case:
- TestAnchorMapError - Added proper null pointer handling in
`Stream::printError` if N is null and `KeyValueNode::getValue` if
getKey returns null, `Input::createHNodes` `dyn_casts` changed to
`dyn_cast_or_null` so the null pointer checks are actually able to
fail
- TestFlowSequenceTokenErrors - Added case in
`Document::parseBlockNode` for FlowMappingEnd, FlowSequenceEnd, or
FlowEntry tokens outside of mappings or sequences
- TestDirectiveMappingNoValue - Changed assert to regular error
return in `Scanner::scanValue`
- TestUnescapeInfiniteLoop - Fixed infinite loop in
`ScalarNode::unescapeDoubleQuoted` by returning an error for
unrecognized escape codes
- TestScannerUnexpectedCharacter - Changed asserts to regular error
returns in `Scanner::consume`
- TestUnknownDirective - For both of the inputs the stream doesn't
fail and correctly returns TK_Error, but there is no valid root
node for the document. There's no reasonable way to make the
scanner fail for unknown directives without breaking the YAML spec
(see spec-07-01.test). I think the assert is unnecessary given
that an error is still generated for this case.
The `SimpleKeys.clear()` line fixes a bug found by AddressSanitizer
triggered by multiple test cases - when TokenQueue is cleared
SimpleKeys is still holding dangling pointers into it, so SimpleKeys
should be cleared as well.

This recommits 2be17087f8 (reverted in
d3ec06d219 for heap-use-after-free) with a fix
in IAI's reset() which was not clearing the set of interleave groups after
deleting them.
The sink-after and interleave-group vectorization decisions were so far applied to
VPlan during initial VPlan construction, which complicates VPlan construction – also because of
their inter-dependence. This patch refactors buildVPlanWithRecipes() to construct a simpler
initial VPlan and later apply both these vectorization decisions, in order, as VPlan-to-VPlan
transformations.

In -DBUILD_SHARED_LIBS=on builds, a component must specify its direct dependencies to satisfy -Wl,-z,defs (added by llvm/modules/HandleLLVMOptions.cmake).

Remarks are usually emitted per-TU, and for generating a standalone
remark file that can be shipped with the linked binary we need some kind
of tool to merge everything together.
The remarks::RemarkLinker class takes care of this and:
* Deduplicates remarks
* Filters remarks with no debug location
* Merges string tables from all the entries
As an output, it provides an iterator range that can be used to
serialize the remarks to a file.

Used in D69245, these add pattern matchers for the WithOverflowInst
(capturing the result) and the ExtractValue instructions taking a
template parameter specifying the element being extracted.
Since SCEV can cache information about location of an instruction, it should be invalidated when the instruction is moved.
There should be similar bug in code sinking part of LICM, it will be fixed in a follow-up change.

This is the "official" constant for arm64. We also have another constant
for arm64 (called BP_ARM64), which was used by breakpad while there was
no official constant for arm64 available.
This unit test exposes a bug in LICM: when it hoists instructions it doesn't invalidate SCEV accordingly.
Similar test exposing lack of SCEV invalidation during code sinking will be submitted as a follow-up change.

LinkGraph::splitBlock will split a block at a given index, returning a new
block covering the range [ 0, index ) and modifying the original block to
cover the range [ index, original-block-size ). Block addresses, content,
edges and symbols will be updated as necessary. This utility will be used
in upcoming improvements to JITLink's eh-frame support.
Summary:
Delete the BasicBlockPass and BasicBlockManager, all its dependencies and update documentation.
The BasicBlockManager was improperly tested and found to be potentially broken, and was deprecated as of rL373254.
In light of the switch to the new pass manager coming before the next release, this patch is a first cleanup of the LegacyPassManager.

Summary:
This extends the rules for when a call instruction is deemed to be an
FPMathOperator, which is based on the type of the call (i.e. the return
type of the function being called). Previously we only allowed
floating-point and vector-of-floating-point types. Now we also allow
arrays (nested to any depth) of floating-point and
vector-of-floating-point types.
This was motivated by llpc, the pipeline compiler for AMD GPUs
(https://github.com/GPUOpen-Drivers/llpc). llpc has many math library
functions that operate on vectors, typically represented as <4 x float>,
and some that operate on matrices, typically represented as
[4 x <4 x float>], and it's useful to be able to decorate calls to all
of them with fast math flags.

The architecture enum contains two kinds of contstants: the "official" ones
defined by Microsoft, and unofficial constants added by breakpad to cover the
architectures not described by the first ones.
Up until now, there was no big need to differentiate between the two. However,
now that Microsoft has defined

a constant for ARM64, we have a name clash.
This patch renames all breakpad-defined constants with to include the prefix
"BP_". This frees up the name "ARM64", which I'll re-introduce with the new
"official" value in a follow-up patch.

Summary:
When createing an ORC remote JIT target the current library split forces the target process to link large portions of LLVM (Core, Execution Engine, JITLink, Object, MC, Passes, RuntimeDyld, Support, Target, and TransformUtils). This occurs because the ORC RPC interfaces rely on the static globals the ORC Error types require, which starts a cycle of pulling in more and more.
This patch breaks the ORC RPC Error implementations out into an "OrcError" library which only depends on LLVM Support. It also pulls the ORC RPC headers into their own subdirectory.
With this patch code can include the Orc/RPC/*.h headers and will only incur link dependencies on LLVMOrcError and LLVMSupport.
