Richard Smith c4fb7720ce PR48339: Improve diagnostics for invalid dependent unqualified function calls.
Fix bogus diagnostics that would get confused and think a "no viable
fuctions" case was an "undeclared identifiers" case, resulting in an
incorrect diagnostic preceding the correct one. Use overload resolution
to determine which function we should select when we can find call
candidates from a dependent base class. Make the diagnostics for a call
that could call a function from a dependent base class more specific,
and use a different diagnostic message for the case where the call
target is instead declared later in the same class. Plus some minor
diagnostic wording improvements.

Duncan P. N. Exon Smith 3b18a594c7 Frontend: Sink named pipe logic from CompilerInstance down to FileManager
Remove compilicated logic from CompilerInstance::InitializeSourceManager
to deal with named pipes, updating FileManager::getBufferForFile to
handle it in a more straightforward way. The existing test at
clang/test/Misc/dev-fd-fs.c covers the new behaviour (just like it did
the old behaviour).

Duncan P. N. Exon Smith 32c501dd88 Module: Use FileEntryRef and DirectoryEntryRef in Umbrella, Header, and DirectoryName, NFC
Push `FileEntryRef` and `DirectoryEntryRef` further, using it them
`Module::Umbrella`, `Module::Header::Entry`, and
`Module::DirectoryName::Entry`.

- Add `DirectoryEntryRef::operator const DirectoryEntry *` and
  `OptionalDirectoryEntryRefDegradesToDirectoryEntryPtr`, to get the
  same "degrades to `DirectoryEntry*` behaviour `FileEntryRef` enjoys
  (this avoids a bunch of churn in various clang tools).
- Fix the `DirectoryEntryRef` constructor from `MapEntry` to take it by
  `const&`.

Note that we cannot get rid of the `...AsWritten` names leveraging the
new classes, since these need to be as written in the `ModuleMap` file
and the module directory path is preprended for the lookup in the
`FileManager`.

Hongtao Yu 24d4291ca7 [CSSPGO] Pseudo probes for function calls.
An indirect call site needs to be probed for its potential call targets. With CSSPGO a direct call also needs a probe so that a calling context can be represented by a stack of callsite probes. Unlike pseudo probes for basic blocks that are in form of standalone intrinsic call instructions, pseudo probes for callsites have to be attached to the call instruction, thus a separate instruction would not work.

One possible way of attaching a probe to a call instruction is to use a special metadata that carries information about the probe. The special metadata will have to make its way through the optimization pipeline down to object emission. This requires additional efforts to maintain the metadata in various places. Given that the `!dbg` metadata is a first-class metadata and has all essential support in place , leveraging the `!dbg` metadata as a channel to encode pseudo probe information is probably the easiest solution.

With the requirement of not inflating `!dbg` metadata that is allocated for almost every instruction, we found that the 32-bit DWARF discriminator field which mainly serves AutoFDO can be reused for pseudo probes. DWARF discriminators distinguish identical source locations between instructions and with pseudo probes such support is not required. In this change we are using the discriminator field to encode the ID and type of a callsite probe and the encoded value will be unpacked and consumed right before object emission. When a callsite is inlined, the callsite discriminator field will go with the inlined instructions. The `!dbg` metadata of an inlined instruction is in form of a scope stack. The top of the stack is the instruction's original `!dbg` metadata and the bottom of the stack is for the original callsite of the top-level inliner. Except for the top of the stack, all other elements of the stack actually refer to the nested inlined callsites whose discriminator field (which actually represents a calliste probe) can be used together to represent the inline context of an inlined PseudoProbeInst or CallInst.

To avoid collision with the baseline AutoFDO in various places that handles dwarf discriminators where a check against  the `-pseudo-probe-for-profiling` switch is not available, a special encoding scheme is used to tell apart a pseudo probe discriminator from a regular discriminator. For the regular discriminator, if all lowest 3 bits are non-zero, it means the discriminator is basically empty and all higher 29 bits can be reversed for pseudo probe use.

Callsite pseudo probes are inserted in `SampleProfileProbePass` and a target-independent MIR pass `PseudoProbeInserter` is added to unpack the probe ID/type from `!dbg`.

Note that with this work the switch -debug-info-for-profiling will not work with -pseudo-probe-for-profiling anymore. They cannot be used at the same time.

Yaxun (Sam) Liu acb6f80d96 [CUDA][HIP] Fix overloading resolution
This patch implements correct hostness based overloading resolution
in isBetterOverloadCandidate.

Based on hostness, if one candidate is emittable whereas the other
candidate is not emittable, the emittable candidate is better.

If both candidates are emittable, or neither is emittable based on hostness, then
other rules should be used to determine which is better. This is because
hostness based overloading resolution is mostly for determining
viability of a function. If two functions are both viable, other factors
should take precedence in preference.

If other rules cannot determine which is better, CUDA preference will be
used again to determine which is better.

However, correct hostness based overloading resolution
requires overloading resolution diagnostics to be deferred,
which is not on by default. The rationale is that deferring
overloading resolution diagnostics may hide overloading reslolutions
issues in header files.

An option -fgpu-exclude-wrong-side-overloads is added, which is off by
default.

When -fgpu-exclude-wrong-side-overloads is off, keep the original behavior,
that is, exclude wrong side overloads only if there are same side overloads.
This may result in incorrect overloading resolution when there are no
same side candates, but is sufficient for most CUDA/HIP applications.

When -fgpu-exclude-wrong-side-overloads is on, enable deferring
overloading resolution diagnostics and enable correct hostness
based overloading resolution, i.e., always exclude wrong side overloads.

Dan Albert 0849047860 Add a less ambiguous macro for Android version.
Android has a handful of API levels relevant to developers described
here: https://developer.android.com/studio/build#module-level.
`__ANDROID_API__` is too vague and confuses a lot of people. Introduce
a new macro name that is explicit about which one it represents. Keep
the old name around because code has been using it for a decade.

jasonliu a65d8c5d72 [XCOFF][AIX] Generate LSDA data and compact unwind section on AIX
Summary:
AIX uses the existing EH infrastructure in clang and llvm.
The major differences would be
1. AIX do not have CFI instructions.
2. AIX uses a new personality routine, named __xlcxx_personality_v1.
   It doesn't use the GCC personality rountine, because the
   interoperability is not there yet on AIX.
3. AIX do not use eh_frame sections. Instead, it would use a eh_info
section (compat unwind section) to store the information about
personality routine and LSDA data address.

Yaxun (Sam) Liu cd95338ee3 [CUDA][HIP] Fix capturing reference to host variable
In C++ when a reference variable is captured by copy, the lambda
is supposed to make a copy of the referenced variable in the captures
and refer to the copy in the lambda. Therefore, it is valid to capture
a reference to a host global variable in a device lambda since the
device lambda will refer to the copy of the host global variable instead
of access the host global variable directly.

However, clang tries to avoid capturing of reference to a host global variable
if it determines the use of the reference variable in the lambda function is
not odr-use. Clang also tries to emit load of the reference to a global variable
as load of the global variable if it determines that the reference variable is
a compile-time constant.

For a device lambda to capture a reference variable to host global variable
and use the captured value, clang needs to be taught that in such cases the use of the reference
variable is odr-use and the reference variable is not compile-time constant.

This patch fixes that.

Alex Zinenko 240dd92432 [OpenMPIRBuilder] forward arguments as pointers to outlined function
OpenMPIRBuilder::createParallel outlines the body region of the parallel
construct into a new function that accepts any value previously defined outside
the region as a function argument. This function is called back by OpenMP
runtime function __kmpc_fork_call, which expects trailing arguments to be
pointers. If the region uses a value that is not of a pointer type, e.g. a
struct, the produced code would be invalid. In such cases, make createParallel
emit IR that stores the value on stack and pass the pointer to the outlined
function instead. The outlined function then loads the value back and uses as
normal.

Richard Smith 1f40d60a3b Remove CXXBasePaths::found_decls and simplify and modernize its only
caller.

This function did not satisfy its documented contract: it only
considered the first lookup result on each base path, not all lookup
results. It also performed unnecessary memory allocations.

This change results in a minor change to our representation: we now
include overridden methods that are found by any derived-to-base path
(not involving another override) in the list of overridden methods for a
function, rather than filtering out functions from bases that are both
direct virtual bases and indirect virtual bases for which the indirect
virtual base path contains another override for the function. (That
filtering rule is part of the class-scope name lookup rules, and doesn't
really have much to do with enumerating overridden methods.) The users
of the list of overridden methods do not appear to rely on this
filtering having happened, and it's simpler to not do it.

This allows us to use its value everywhere, rather than just clang. Some
other places, like opt and lld, will use its value soon.

Rename it internally to LLVM_ENABLE_NEW_PASS_MANAGER.

The #define for it is now in llvm-config.h.

The initial land accidentally set the value of
LLVM_ENABLE_NEW_PASS_MANAGER to the string
ENABLE_EXPERIMENTAL_NEW_PASS_MANAGER instead of its value.

Wei Wang 93dc1b5b8c [Remarks][2/2] Expand remarks hotness threshold option support in more tools
This is the #2 of 2 changes that make remarks hotness threshold option
available in more tools. The changes also allow the threshold to sync with
hotness threshold from profile summary with special value 'auto'.

This change expands remarks hotness threshold option
-fdiagnostics-hotness-threshold in clang and *-remarks-hotness-threshold in
other tools to utilize hotness threshold from profile summary.

Remarks hotness filtering relies on several driver options. Table below lists
how different options are correlated and affect final remarks outputs:

summary. In case of missing such information, no remarks will be generated.

By explicitly requesting the system linker with `-fuse-ld=`, the
tests are able to CHECK for the system linker even with
CLANG_DEFAULT_LINKER=lld.

Leonard Chan cf8ff75bad [clang][RelativeVTablesABI] Use dso_local_equivalent rather than emitting stubs
Thanks to D77248, we can bypass the use of stubs altogether and use PLT
relocations if they are available for the target. LLVM and LLD support the
R_AARCH64_PLT32 relocation, so we can also guarantee a static PLT relocation on AArch64.
Not emitting these stubs saves a lot of extra binary size.

Duncan P. N. Exon Smith 1b042de5b2 FileManager: Add FileEntryRef::getDir, returning DirectoryEntryRef
Add `FileEntryRef::getDir`, which returns a `DirectoryEntryRef`. This
includes a few changes:

- Customize `OptionalStorage` so that `Optional<DirectoryEntryRef>` is
  pointer-sized (like the change made to `Optional<FileEntryRef>`).
  Factored out a common class, `FileMgr::MapEntryOptionalStorage`, to
  reduce the code duplication.
- Store an `Optional<DirectoryEntryRef>` in `FileEntryRef::MapValue`.
  This is set if and only if `MapValue` has a real `FileEntry`.
- Change `FileManager::getFileRef` and `getVirtualFileRef` to use
  `getDirectoryRef` and store it in the `StringMap` for `FileEntryRef`.

Fangrui Song 164410324d [CodeGen] -fno-delete-null-pointer-checks: change dereferenceable to dereferenceable_or_null
After D17993, with -fno-delete-null-pointer-checks we add the dereferenceable attribute to the `this` pointer.

We have observed that one internal target which worked before fails even with -fno-delete-null-pointer-checks.
Switching to dereferenceable_or_null fixes the problem.

dereferenceable currently does not always respect NullPointerIsValid and may
imply nonnull and lead to aggressive optimization. The optimization may be
related to `CallBase::isReturnNonNull`, `Argument::hasNonNullAttr`, or
`Value::getPointerDereferenceableBytes`. See D66664 and D66618 for some discussions.

Mircea Trofin 5fe10263ab [llvm][inliner] Reuse the inliner pass to implement 'always inliner'
Enable performing mandatory inlinings upfront, by reusing the same logic
as the full inliner, instead of the AlwaysInliner. This has the
following benefits:
- reduce code duplication - one inliner codebase
- open the opportunity to help the full inliner by performing additional
function passes after the mandatory inlinings, but before th full
inliner. Performing the mandatory inlinings first simplifies the problem
the full inliner needs to solve: less call sites, more contextualization, and,
depending on the additional function optimization passes run between the
2 inliners, higher accuracy of cost models / decision policies.

Note that this patch does not yet enable much in terms of post-always
inline function optimization.

Hongtao Yu c083fededf [CSSPGO] A Clang switch -fpseudo-probe-for-profiling for pseudo-probe instrumentation.
This change introduces a new clang switch `-fpseudo-probe-for-profiling` to enable AutoFDO with pseudo instrumentation. Please refer to https://reviews.llvm.org/D86193 for the whole story.

One implication from pseudo-probe instrumentation is that the profile is now sensitive to CFG changes. We perform the pseudo instrumentation very early in the pre-LTO pipeline, before any CFG transformation. This ensures that the CFG instrumented and annotated is stable and optimization-resilient.

The early instrumentation also allows the inliner to duplicate probes for inlined instances. When a probe along with the other instructions of a callee function are inlined into its caller function, the GUID of the callee function goes with the probe. This allows samples collected on inlined probes to be reported for the original callee function.

Balazs Benics ee073c7985 [analyzer][StdLibraryFunctionsChecker] Fix typos in summaries of mmap and mmap64
The fd parameter of
```
void *mmap(void *addr, size_t length, int prot, int flags, int fd, off_t offset)
```
should be constrained to the range [0, IntMax] as that is of type int.
Constraining to the range [0, Off_tMax] would result in a crash as that is
of a signed type with the value of 0xff..f (-1).

The crash would happen when we try to apply the arg constraints.
At line 583: assert(Min <= Max), as 0 <= -1 is not satisfied

The mmap64 is fixed for the same reason.

Ben Dunbobbin d5aaf60214 [windows-itanium] handle dllimport/export code paths separately and share with PS4
Similar to Windows Itanium, PS4 is also an Itanium C++ ABI variant
which shares the goal of semantic compatibility with Microsoft C++
code that uses dllimport/export.

This change introduces a new function to determine from the triple
if an environment aims for compatibility with MS C++ code w.r.t to
these attributes and guards the relevant code paths using that
function.

Haojian Wu ec6c5e920a [clang] Improve diagnostics for auto-return-type function if the return expr had an error.
Given the following case:

```
auto k() {
  return undef();
  return 1;
}
```

Prior to the patch, clang emits an `cannot initialize return object of type
'auto' with an rvalue of type 'int'` diagnostic on the second return
(because the return type of the function cannot be deduced from the first contain-errors return).

This patch suppresses this error.

Richard Smith 1db60c1307 Remove redundant check for access in the conversion from the naming
class to the declaring class in a class member access.

This check does not appear to be backed by any rule in the standard (the
rule in question was likely removed over the years), and only ever
produces duplicate diagnostics. (It's also not meaningful because there
isn't a unique declaring class after the resolution of core issue 39.)

Hafiz Abid Qadeer 45ba2392d7 [clang][Driver] Handle risvc in Baremetal.cpp.
I am working on a baremetal riscv toolchain using LLVM runtime and
LLD linker. Baremetal.cpp provides most of the things needed for such
toolchain. So I have modified it to also handle riscv64/32-unknown-elf
 targets alongside arm-none-eabi.

Currently, targets like riscv64-unknown-elf are handled by RISCVToolChain
which mostly expects a gcc toolchain to be present. If you dont
want the dependency on gcc-toolchain/libgloss or want to use LLD, then
RISCVToolChain is not a good fit.

So in the toolchain selection code, I have made this dependency of
RISCVToolChain on gcc toolchain explicit. It is created if gcc-toolchain
option is present. Otherwise Baremetal toolchain is created. I will be
happy to hear if there is a better way to choose between these two
toolchains.

Richard Smith 3fb0879867 Refactor and simplify class scope name lookup.
This is partly in preparation for an upcoming change that can change the
order in which DeclContext lookup results are presented.

In passing, fix some obvious errors where name lookup's notion of a
"static member function" missed static member function templates, and
where its notion of "same set of declarations" was confused by the same
declarations appearing in a different order.

Reid Kleckner 3bd0672726 [MS] Fix double evaluation of MSVC builtin arguments
This code got quite twisted because we consider some MSVC builtins to be
target agnostic, and some to be target specific. Target specific
intrinsics have a pattern of doing up-front argument evaluation, while
general intrinsics do not evaluate their arguments up front. As we tried
to share codepaths between the target-specific and target-agnostic
handling, we ended up doing double evaluation.

Instead, have each target handle MSVC intrinsics consistently before up
front argument evaluation. This requires passing less data around and is
more consistent with target independent intrinsic handling.

See D50979 for past examples of this bug. I noticed this while looking
into adding some more intrinsics.

Richard Smith c2cb61bed3 Fix mangling of substitutions for template-prefixes.
Previously we only considered using a substitution for a template-name
after already having mangled its prefix, so we'd produce nonsense
manglings like NS3_S4_IiEE where we should simply produce NS4_IiEE.

This is not ABI-compatible with previous Clang versions, and the old
behavior is restored by -fclang-abi-compat=11.0 or earlier.

Zarko Todorovski c92f29b05e [AIX] Add mabi=vec-extabi options to enable the AIX extended and default vector ABIs.
Added support for the options mabi=vec-extabi and mabi=vec-default which are analogous to qvecnvol and qnovecnvol when using XL on AIX.
The extended Altivec ABI on AIX is enabled using mabi=vec-extabi in clang and vec-extabi in llc.

Raphael Isemann 0c926e6d24 [ASTImporter] Make the Import() return value consistent with the map of imported decls when merging ClassTemplateSpecializationDecls
When importing a `ClassTemplateSpecializationDecl` definition into a TU with a matching
`ClassTemplateSpecializationDecl` definition and a more recent forward decl, the ASTImporter
currently will call `MapImported()` for the definitions, but will return the forward declaration
from the `ASTImporter::Import()` call.

This is triggering some assertions in LLDB when we try to fully import some DeclContexts
before we delete the 'From' AST. The returned 'To' Decl before this patch is just the most recent
forward decl but that's not the Decl with the definition to which the ASTImporter will import
the child declarations.

This patch just changes that the ASTImporter returns the definition that the imported Decl was
merged with instead of the found forward declaration.

In Clang, FreeBSD/Fuchsia/NetBSD/MinGW aarch64 default to -fasynchronous-unwind-tables.

This patch defaults Generic_GCC aarch64 (which affects Linux) to use -fasynchronous-unwind-tables.

Nico Weber 9a8386dba8 clang: Pass -platform-version to new MachO LLD
New MachO LLD doesn't implement the old -macos_version_min (etc)
flags, but it understands the modern platform_version flag.
So make the clang driver pass that when using new MachO LLD.

Also, while here, don't pass -lto_library to LLD, since it
links in LTO libraries statically (which it can because it's
versioned alongside clang).

Nico Weber 5ce85e6635 Fix driver test from e16c0a9a68
The test failed silently if lld wasn't built alongside clang.
But the test uses -###, so the "invalid linker name in -fuse-ld=lld"
diag didn't make clang fail, and something else happened to match
"-demangle", so the test passed.

To fix, pass -B to a directory with two empty +x files (which works
on non-Windows), and look for `"-demangle"` instead of just `-demangle`.
Also force linker_version to 0 and pass a darwin triple.

Nico Weber e16c0a9a68 clang+lld: Improve clang+ld.darwinnew.lld interaction, pass -demangle
This patch:
- adds an ld64.lld.darwinnew symlink for lld, to go with f2710d4b57,
  so that `clang -fuse-ld=lld.darwinnew` can be used to test new
  Mach-O lld while it's in bring-up. (The expectation is that we'll
  remove this again once new Mach-O lld is the defauld and only Mach-O
  lld.)
- lets the clang driver know if the linker is lld (currently
  only triggered if `-fuse-ld=lld` or `-fuse-ld=lld.darwinnew` is
  passed). Currently only used for the next point, but could be used
  to implement other features that need close coordination between
  compiler and linker, e.g. having a diag for calling `clang++` instead
  of `clang` when link errors are caused by a missing C++ stdlib.
- lets the clang driver pass `-demangle` to Mach-O lld (both old and
  new), in addition to ld64
- implements -demangle for new Mach-O lld
- changes demangleItanium() to accept _Z, __Z, ___Z, ____Z prefixes
  (and updates one test added in D68014). Mach-O has an extra
  underscore for symbols, and the three (or, on Mach-O, four)
  underscores are used for block names.

Yaxun (Sam) Liu cb08558caa [HIP] Fix regressions due to fp contract change
Recently HIP toolchain made a change to use clang instead of opt/llc to do compilation
(https://reviews.llvm.org/D81861). The intention is to make HIP toolchain canonical like
other toolchains.

However, this change introduced an unintentional change regarding backend fp fuse
option, which caused regressions in some HIP applications.

Basically before the change, HIP toolchain used clang to generate bitcode, then use
opt/llc to optimize bitcode and generate ISA. As such, the amdgpu backend takes
the default fp fuse mode which is 'Standard'. This mode respect contract flag of
fmul/fadd instructions and do not fuse fmul/fadd instructions without contract flag.

However, after the change, HIP toolchain now use clang to generate IR, do optimization,
and generate ISA as one process. Now amdgpu backend fp fuse option is determined
by -ffp-contract option, which is 'fast' by default. And this -ffp-contract=fast language option
is translated to 'Fast' fp fuse option in backend. Suddenly backend starts to fuse fmul/fadd
instructions without contract flag.

This causes wrong result for some device library functions, e.g. tan(-1e20), which should
return 0.8446, now returns -0.933. What is worse is that since backend with 'Fast' fp fuse
option does not respect contract flag, there is no way to use #pragma clang fp contract
directive to enforce fp contract requirements.

This patch fixes the regression by introducing a new value 'fast-honor-pragmas' for -ffp-contract
and use it for HIP by default. 'fast-honor-pragmas' is equivalent to 'fast' in frontend but
let the backend to use 'Standard' fp fuse option. 'fast-honor-pragmas' is useful since 'Fast'
fp fuse option in backend does not honor contract flag, it is of little use to HIP
applications since all code with #pragma STDC FP_CONTRACT or any IR from a
source compiled with -ffp-contract=on is broken.

John Paul Adrian Glaubitz c2fb114475 [Driver] Enable getOSLibDir() lib32 workaround for SPARC on Linux
This fixes the Builtins-sparc-linux testsuite failures on Linux
SPARC which occur because clang cannot find the 32-bit runtime
libraries when -m32 is passed on the command line. The same
workaround is already being used on X86 and PPC.

Also, switch the CHECK-DEBIAN-SPARC tests to use debian_multiarch_tree
as both sparc and sparc64 are using the MultiArch mechanism on modern Debian
systems the same way as x86_64, powerpc64el and others. Thus, switch the
CHECK-DEBIAN-SPARC32 and CHECK-DEBIAN-SPARC64 tests to use the files from
the debian_multiarch_tree directory for the header and linker path tests.

Finally, rename CHECK-DEBIAN-SPARC32 to CHECK-DEBIAN-SPARC to match the naming
scheme of the Debian MultiArch checks for the other Debian architectures.

Ben Dunbobbin e42021d5cc [Clang][-fvisibility-from-dllstorageclass] Set DSO Locality from final visibility
Ensure that the DSO Locality of the globals in the IR is derived from
their final visibility when using -fvisibility-from-dllstorageclass.

To accomplish this we reset the DSO locality of globals (before
setting their visibility from their dllstorageclass) at the end of
IRGen in Clang. This removes any effects that visibility options or
annotations may have had on the DSO locality.

The resulting DSO locality of the globals will be pessimistic
w.r.t. to the normal compiler IRGen.

Saleem Abdulrasool f6b02ecd02 APINotes: add property models for YAML attributes

Craig Topper b3f1b19c9c [AArch64] Update clang CodeGen tests I missed in 4252f7773a.
These tests invoke opt and llc even though they are in the frontend.

We now do a better job of generating commuted patterns for fma so
these tests now form fmls instead of fmla+fneg.

Nico Weber 47eb5ce19a [mac/arm] fix clang/test/Driver/darwin-ld-dedup.c
The test needs an object file, which it currenty gets with
`-target x86_64-apple-darwin10`.  Rather than adding `REQUIRES: X86`, create
the object file via yaml2obj. This way, the test runs and passes even if the
host arch isn't x86 and only the host arch is built.

Joe Ellis 3c696a212b [AArch64][SVE] Allow lax conversion between VLATs and GNU vectors
Previously, lax conversions were only allowed between SVE vector-length
agnostic types and vector-length specific types. This meant that code
such as the following:

This patch makes a minor change to areLaxCompatibleSveTypes to allow for

Ella Ma 1756d67934 [llvm][clang][mlir] Add checks for the return values from Target::createXXX to prevent protential null deref
All these potential null pointer dereferences are reported by my static analyzer for null smart pointer dereferences, which has a different implementation from `alpha.cplusplus.SmartPtr`.

The checked pointers in this patch are initialized by Target::createXXX functions. When the creator function pointer is not correctly set, a null pointer will be returned, or the creator function may originally return a null pointer.

Some of them may not make sense as they may be checked before entering the function, but I fixed them all in this patch. I submit this fix because 1) similar checks are found in some other places in the LLVM codebase for the same return value of the function; and, 2) some of the pointers are dereferenced before they are checked, which may definitely trigger a null pointer dereference if the return value is nullptr.

Adam Czachorowski 95ce9fbc23 [clang] Do not crash on pointer wchar_t pointer assignment.
wchar_t can be signed (thus hasSignedIntegerRepresentation() returns
true), but it doesn't have an unsigned type, which would lead to a crash
when trying to get it.

With this fix, we special-case WideChar types in the pointer assignment
code.

Arthur Eubanks 72badbcdcc [NPM] Move more O0 pass building into PassBuilder
This moves handling of alwaysinline, coroutines, matrix lowering, PGO,
and LTO-required passes into PassBuilder. Much of this is replicated
between Clang and opt. Other out-of-tree users also replicate some of
this, such as Rust [1] replicating the alwaysinline, LTO, and PGO
passes.

The LTO passes are also now run in
build(Thin)LTOPreLinkDefaultPipeline() since they are semantically
required for (Thin)LTO.

According to ELF v2 ABI, both IEEE 128-bit and IBM extended floating
point variables should be quad-word (16 bytes) aligned. Previously, only

Andrew Gallagher c6c8d4a13e [modules] Fix crash in call to `FunctionDecl::setPure()`
In some cases, when deserializing a `CXXMethodDecl` of a `CXXSpecializationTemplateDecl`,
the call to `FunctionDecl::setPure()` happens before the `DefinitionData` member has been
populated (which appears to happen lower down in a `mergeRedeclarable` call), causing a
crash (https://reviews.llvm.org/P8228).

This diff fixes this by deferring the `FunctionDecl::setPure()` till after the `DefinitionData` has
been filled in.

Hafiz Abid Qadeer 8cdc538873 Add sysroot/lib to library search path of baremetal toolchain.
Baremetal toolchain is not adding sysroot/lib to the library
search path. This is forcing the user to do it manually. This commit
fixes this shortcoming by adding the sysroot/lib to library search path
if sysroot is not empty.

[Matrix] Adjust matrix pointer type for inline asm arguments.
Matrix types in memory are represented as arrays, but accessed through
vector pointers, with the alignment specified on the access operation.

For inline assembly, update pointer arguments to use vector pointers.
Otherwise there will be a mis-match if the matrix is also an
input-argument which is represented as vector.

region, it also must be firstprivatized in outer task-based regions.
Previously firstprivates were captured in tasks but later it was

Stephen Kelly 246b428fb3 [AST] Ignore implicit nodes in IgnoreUnlessSpelledInSource mode
Update the ASTNodeTraverser to dump only nodes spelled in source.  There
are only a few which need to be handled, but Decl nodes for which
isImplicit() is true are handled together.

Update the RAV instances used in ASTMatchFinder to ignore the nodes too.
As with handling of template instantiations, it is necessary to allow
the RAV to process the implicit nodes because they need to be visitable
before the first traverse() matcher is encountered.  An exception to
this is in the MatchChildASTVisitor, because we sometimes wish to make a
node matchable but make its children not-matchable.  This is the case
for defaulted CXXMethodDecls for example.

Extend TransformerTests to illustrate the kinds of problems that can
arise when performing source code rewriting due to matching implicit
nodes.

This change accounts for handling nodes not spelled in source when using
direct matching of nodes, and when using the has() and hasDescendant()
matchers.  Other matchers such as
cxxRecordDecl(hasMethod(cxxMethodDecl())) still succeed for
compiler-generated methods for example after this change.  Updating the
implementations of hasMethod() and other matchers is for a follow-up
patch.

Alexey Bataev 5292187a2d [OPENMP]Fix PR48076: mapping of data member pointer.
If the data member pointer is mapped, the compiler tries to optimize the
mapping of such data by discarding explicit mapping flags and trying to
emit combined data instead. In some cases, this optimization is not
quite correctly implemented and it leads to a program crash at the
runtime. Instead, if the data member is mapped, just emit it as is and
do not emit combined mapping flags for it.

Joe Ellis 23a96b84a8 [AArch64][SVE] Support implicit lax vector conversions for SVE types
Lax vector conversions was behaving incorrectly for implicit casts
between scalable and fixed-length vector types. For example, this:

    #include <arm_sve.h>

    #define N __ARM_FEATURE_SVE_BITS
    #define FIXED_ATTR __attribute__((arm_sve_vector_bits(N)))

    typedef svfloat32_t fixed_float32_t FIXED_ATTR;

    void allowed_depending() {
      fixed_float32_t fs32;
      svfloat64_t s64;

      fs32 = s64;
    }

... would fail because the vectors have differing lane sizes. This patch
implements the correct behaviour for
-flax-vector-conversions={none,all,integer}. Specifically:

- -flax-vector-conversions=none prevents all lax vector conversions
  between scalable and fixed-sized vectors.
- -flax-vector-conversions=integer allows lax vector conversions between
  scalable and fixed-size vectors whose element types are integers.
- -flax-vector-conversions=all allows all lax vector conversions between
  scalable and fixed-size vectors (including those with floating point
  element types).

The implicit conversions are implemented as bitcasts.

Erich Keane 6976fef05b Update 'note-candiate' functions to skip lambda-conversion-op-overloads
In the wake of https://reviews.llvm.org/D89559, we discovered that a
couple of tests (the ones modified below to have additional triple
versions) would fail on Win32, for 1 of two reasons.  We seem to not
have a win32 buildbot anymore, so the triple is to make sure this
doesn't get broken in the future.

First, two of the three 'note-candidate' functions weren't appropriately
skipping the remaining conversion functions.

Second, in 1 situation (note surrogate candidates) we actually print the
type of the conversion operator.  The two tests that ran into that
needed updating to make sure it printed the proper one in the win32
case.

Sven van Haastregt f0c690018a [OpenCL] Stop opencl-c-base.h leaking extension enabling
opencl-c.h disables all extensions at its end, but opencl-c-base.h
does not, and that causes any inclusion of only opencl-c-base.h to
leave some extensions (such as cl_khr_fp16) enabled.  This affects the
-fdeclare-opencl-builtins option for example.

This violates the OpenCL Extension Specification which specifies that
"The initial state of the compiler is as if the directive #pragma
OPENCL EXTENSION all : disable was issued".

Fix by disabling all extensions at the end of opencl-c-base.h and
enable extensions inside opencl.h which relied on opencl-c-base.h
enabling the cl_khr_fp16/64 extensions.

Francesco Petrogalli 02bdbdc760 [clang][SveEmitter] Fix enum declarations. [NFCI]
Adapt the declarations of `svpattern` and `svprfop` to the most recent
one defined in section "5. Enum declarations" of the SVE ACLE
specifications [1].

The signature of the intrinsics using these enums have been changed
accordingly.

A test has been added to make sure that `svpattern` and `svprfop` are
not typedefs.

Florian Hahn ca2e7e5999 [IRGen] Add !annotation metadata for auto-init stores.
This patch updates Clang's IRGen to add !annotation nodes with an
"auto-init" annotation to all stores for auto-initialization.

As discussed in 'RFC: Combining Annotation Metadata and Remarks'
(http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-dev/2020-November/146393.html)
this allows using optimization remarks to track down where auto-init
code was inserted (and not removed by optimizations).

There are a few cases in the tests where !annotation gets dropped by
optimizations. Those optimizations will be updated in subsequent
patches.

This patch is based on a patch by Francis Visoiu Mistrih.

Richard Smith dc58cd1480 PR48169: Fix crash generating debug info for class non-type template
parameters.

It appears that LLVM isn't able to generate a DW_AT_const_value for a
constant of class type, but if it could, we'd match GCC's debug info in
this case, and in the interim we no longer crash.

Aaron Puchert 6f84779674 [Sema] Improve notes for value category mismatch in overloading
When an overloaded member function has a ref-qualifier, like:

class X {
    void f() &&;
    void f(int) &;
};

we would print strange notes when the ref-qualifier doesn't fit the value
category:

X x;
x.f();
X().f(0);

would both print a note "no known conversion from 'X' to 'X' for object
argument" on their relevant overload instead of pointing out the
mismatch in value category.

At first I thought the solution is easy: just use the FailureKind member
of the BadConversionSequence struct. But it turns out that we weren't
properly setting this for function arguments. So I went through
TryReferenceInit to make sure we're doing that right, and found a number
of notes in the existing tests that improved as well.

the implementation is known-broken for certain inputs,
the bugreport was up for a significant amount of timer,
and there has been no activity to address it.
Therefore, just completely rip out all of misexpect handling.

I suspect, fixing it requires redesigning the internals of MD_misexpect.
Should anyone commit to fixing the implementation problem,
starting from clean slate may be better anyways.

Mehdi Amini 42e88bd6b1 Replace sequences of v.push_back(v[i]); v.erase(&v[i]); with std::rotate (NFC)
The code has a few sequence that looked like:

    Ops.push_back(Ops[0]);
    Ops.erase(Ops.begin());

And are equivalent to:

    std::rotate(Ops.begin(), Ops.begin() + 1, Ops.end());

The latter has the advantage of never reallocating the vector, which
would be a bug in the original code as push_back would read from the
memory it deallocated.

Duncan P. N. Exon Smith a2f2c2f3a4 Serialization: Merge three diagnostics to simplify ASTReader::getInputFile, NFC
Clean up the logic for `err_fe_{pch,module,ast}_file_modified` to use a
`select` like other ASTReader diagnostics. There should be no
functionality change here, just a cleanup.

Duncan P. N. Exon Smith b764a62f02 Serialization: Rename three AST diagnostics, NFC
All three diagnostics have a select between "PCH", "module", and "AST"
in the text. The most generic of these is "AST", so rename them from
`err_module_...` to `err_ast_...`.

Aaron Ballman 66b876c014 Pass the source range when diagnosing an unknown attribute
This way, the whole attribute gets highlighted with diagnostics instead
of just the scope name in an attribute like [[clang::unknown]].

This logic seems easier to follow without the `Error()` helper, and
checking `DiagnosticsEngine::isDiagnosticInFlight` just once up front.
