This is part of the work to remove TargetMachine::resetTargetOptions.

In this patch, instead of updating global variable NoFramePointerElim in
resetTargetOptions, its use in DisableFramePointerElim is replaced with a call
to TargetFrameLowering::noFramePointerElim. This function determines on a
per-function basis if frame pointer elimination should be disabled.

There is no change in functionality except that cl:opt option "disable-fp-elim"

Keno Fischer c780e8ebcc Make it easier to use DwarfContext with MCJIT
Summary:
This supersedes http://reviews.llvm.org/D4010, hopefully properly
dealing with the JIT case and also adds an actual test case.
DwarfContext was basically already usable for the JIT (and back when
we were overwriting ELF files it actually worked out of the box by
accident), but in order to resolve relocations correctly it needs
to know the load address of the section.
Rather than trying to get this out of the ObjectFile or requiring
the user to create a new ObjectFile just to get some debug info,
this adds the capability to pass in that info directly.
As part of this I separated out part of the LoadedObjectInfo struct
from RuntimeDyld, since it is now required at a higher layer.

The TargetRegistry is just a namespace-like class, instantiated in one
place to use a range-based for loop. Instead, expose access to the
registry via a range-based 'targets()' function instead. This makes most
uses a bit awkward/more verbose - but eventually we should just add a
range-based find_if function which will streamline these functions. I'm
happy to mkae them a bit awkward in the interim as encouragement to
improve the algorithms in time.

Module partitioning showed up as a source of significant overhead when I
profiled some trivial test cases. Avoiding the overhead of partitionging

This change also means that it is no longer necessary to have a
LazyEmittingLayer underneath the CompileOnDemand layer, since the
CompileOnDemandLayer will not extract or emit function bodies until they are

Keno Fischer e6892c8149 Reapply [RuntimeDyldELF] Fold Placeholder into Addend
This reapplies r235060 and 235070, which were reverted because of test failures
in LLDB. The failure was caused because at moment RuntimeDyld is processing
relocations for all sections, irrespective of whether we actually load them
into memory or not, but RuntimeDyld was not actually remembering where in memory
the unrelocated section is. This commit includes a fix for that issue by
remembering that pointer, though the longer term fix should be to stop processing
unneeded sections.

Original Summary:

This allows us to get rid of the original unrelocated object file after
we're done processing relocations (but before applying them).
MachO and COFF already do not require this (currently we have temporary hacks
to prevent ownership from being released, but those are brittle and should be
removed soon).

The placeholder mechanism allowed the relocation resolver to look at original
object file to obtain more information that are required to apply the
relocations. This is usually necessary in two cases:

- For relocations targetting sub-word memory locations, there may be pieces
of the instruction at the target address which we should not override.
- Some relocations on some platforms allow an extra addend to be encoded in
  their immediate fields.

The problem is that in the second case the information cannot be recovered
after the relocations have been applied once because they will have been
overridden. In the first case we also need to be careful to not use any bits
that aren't fixed and may have been overriden by applying a first relocation.

In the past both have been fixed by just looking at original object file. This
patch attempts to recover the information from the first by looking at the
relocated object file, while the extra addend in the second case is read
upon relocation processing and addend to the regular addend.

I have tested this on X86. Other platforms represent my best understanding
of how those relocations should work, but I may have missed something because
I do not have access to those platforms.
We will keep the ugly workarounds in place for a couple of days, so this commit
can be reverted if it breaks the bots.

Keno Fischer 02628def32 [RuntimeDyldELF] Improve GOT support
Summary:
This is the first in a series of patches to eventually add support for TLS relocations to RuntimeDyld. This patch resolves an issue in the current GOT handling, where GOT entries would be reused between object files, which leads to the same situation that necessitates the GOT in the first place, i.e. that the 32-bit offset can not cover all of the address space. Thus this patch makes the GOT object-file-local.
Unfortunately, this still isn't quite enough, because the MemoryManager does not yet guarantee that sections are allocated sufficiently close to each other, even if they belong to the same object file. To address this concern, this patch also adds a small API abstraction on top of the GOT allocation mechanism that will allow (temporarily, until the MemoryManager is improved) using the stub mechanism instead of allocating a different section. The actual switch from separate section to stub mechanism will be part of a follow-on commit, so that it can be easily reverted independently at the appropriate time.

Test Plan: Includes a test case where the GOT of two object files is artificially forced to be apart by several GB.

This patch fixes MCJIT::addGlobalMapping by changing the implementation of the

mapping between symbol names (std::strings) and addresses (uint64_ts), rather
than a mapping between Value*s and void*s.

This has fix has been made for backwards compatibility, however the strongly
preferred way to resolve unknown symbols is by writing a custom
RuntimeDyld::SymbolResolver (formerly RTDyldMemoryManager) and overriding the
findSymbol method. The addGlobalMapping method is a hangover from the legacy JIT
(which has was removed in 3.6), and may be deprecated in a future release as
part of a clean-up of the ExecutionEngine interface.

Lang Hames 633fe146e9 [MCJIT][Orc] Refactor RTDyldMemoryManager, weave RuntimeDyld::SymbolInfo through
MCJIT.

This patch decouples the two responsibilities of the RTDyldMemoryManager class,
memory management and symbol resolution, into two new classes:
RuntimeDyld::MemoryManager and RuntimeDyld::SymbolResolver.

The symbol resolution interface is modified slightly, from:

  uint64_t getSymbolAddress(const std::string &Name);

to:

  RuntimeDyld::SymbolInfo findSymbol(const std::string &Name);

The latter passes symbol flags along with symbol addresses, allowing RuntimeDyld
and others to reason about non-strong/non-exported symbols.

The memory management interface removes the following method:

  void notifyObjectLoaded(ExecutionEngine *EE,
                          const object::ObjectFile &) {}

as it is not related to memory management. (Note: Backwards compatibility *is*
maintained for this method in MCJIT and OrcMCJITReplacement, see below).

The RTDyldMemoryManager class remains in-tree for backwards compatibility.
It inherits directly from RuntimeDyld::SymbolResolver, and indirectly from
RuntimeDyld::MemoryManager via the new MCJITMemoryManager class, which
just subclasses RuntimeDyld::MemoryManager and reintroduces the
notifyObjectLoaded method for backwards compatibility).

The EngineBuilder class retains the existing method:

  EngineBuilder&
  setMCJITMemoryManager(std::unique_ptr<RTDyldMemoryManager> mcjmm);

and includes two new methods:

  EngineBuilder&
  setMemoryManager(std::unique_ptr<MCJITMemoryManager> MM);

  EngineBuilder&
  setSymbolResolver(std::unique_ptr<RuntimeDyld::SymbolResolver> SR);

Clients should use EITHER:

A single call to setMCJITMemoryManager with an RTDyldMemoryManager.

OR (exclusive)

One call each to each of setMemoryManager and setSymbolResolver.

This patch should be fully compatible with existing uses of RTDyldMemoryManager.
If it is not it should be considered a bug, and the patch either fixed or
reverted.

If clients find the new API to be an improvement the goal will be to deprecate
and eventually remove the RTDyldMemoryManager class in favor of the new classes.

As a side effect it is no longer needed in the Module.
This is "almost" NFC, the string is no longer
canonicalized, you can't rely on two "equals" DataLayout
having the same string returned by getStringRepresentation().

Get rid of DataLayoutPass: the DataLayout is in the Module

The DataLayout is "per-module", let's enforce this by not
duplicating it more than necessary.
One more step toward non-optionality of the DataLayout in the
module.

This patch replaces most of the Orc indirection utils API with a new class:
JITCompileCallbackManager, which creates and manages JIT callbacks.
Exposing this functionality directly allows the user to create callbacks that
are associated with user supplied compilation actions. For example, you can
create a callback to lazyily IR-gen something from an AST. (A kaleidoscope
example demonstrating this will be committed shortly).

This patch also refactors the CompileOnDemand layer to use the
JITCompileCallbackManager API.

Chandler Carruth 30d69c2e36 [PM] Remove the old 'PassManager.h' header file at the top level of
LLVM's include tree and the use of using declarations to hide the
'legacy' namespace for the old pass manager.

This undoes the primary modules-hostile change I made to keep
out-of-tree targets building. I sent an email inquiring about whether
this would be reasonable to do at this phase and people seemed fine with
it, so making it a reality. This should allow us to start bootstrapping
with modules to a certain extent along with making it easier to mix and
match headers in general.

The updates to any code for users of LLVM are very mechanical. Switch
from including "llvm/PassManager.h" to "llvm/IR/LegacyPassManager.h".
Qualify the types which now produce compile errors with "legacy::". The
most common ones are "PassManager", "PassManagerBase", and

Lang Hames 114b4f324b [Orc] Add a JITSymbol class to the Orc APIs, refactor APIs, update clients.
This patch refactors a key piece of the Orc APIs: It removes the
*::getSymbolAddress and *::lookupSymbolAddressIn methods, which returned target
addresses (uint64_ts), and replaces them with *::findSymbol and *::findSymbolIn
respectively, which return instances of the new JITSymbol type. Unlike the old
methods, calling findSymbol or findSymbolIn does not cause the symbol to be
immediately materialized when found. Instead, the symbol will be materialized
if/when the getAddress method is called on the returned JITSymbol. This allows
us to query for the existence of symbols without actually materializing them. In
the future I expect more information to be attached to the JITSymbol class, for
example whether the returned symbol is a weak or strong definition. This will
allow us to properly handle weak symbols and multiple definitions.

Eric Christopher 8b7706517c Move DataLayout back to the TargetMachine from TargetSubtargetInfo
derived classes.

Since global data alignment, layout, and mangling is often based on the
DataLayout, move it to the TargetMachine. This ensures that global
data is going to be layed out and mangled consistently if the subtarget
changes on a per function basis. Prior to this all targets(*) have
had subtarget dependent code moved out and onto the TargetMachine.

*One target hasn't been migrated as part of this change: R600. The
R600 port has, as a subtarget feature, the size of pointers and
this affects global data layout. I've currently hacked in a FIXME
to enable progress, but the port needs to be updated to either pass
the 64-bitness to the TargetMachine, or fix the DataLayout to
avoid subtarget dependent features.

Lang Hames 93de2a12a3 [Orc] New JIT APIs.
This patch adds a new set of JIT APIs to LLVM. The aim of these new APIs is to
cleanly support a wider range of JIT use cases in LLVM, and encourage the
development and contribution of re-usable infrastructure for LLVM JIT use-cases.

These APIs are intended to live alongside the MCJIT APIs, and should not affect
existing clients.

Included in this patch:

1) New headers in include/llvm/ExecutionEngine/Orc that provide a set of
   components for building JIT infrastructure.
Implementation code for these headers lives in lib/ExecutionEngine/Orc.

2) A prototype re-implementation of MCJIT (OrcMCJITReplacement) built out of the
   new components.

3) Minor changes to RTDyldMemoryManager needed to support the new components.
These changes should not impact existing clients.

4) A new flag for lli, -use-orcmcjit, which will cause lli to use the
OrcMCJITReplacement class as its underlying execution engine, rather than
   MCJIT itself.

Tests to follow shortly.

Lang Hames 6bfd398022 [RuntimeDyld] Track symbol visibility in RuntimeDyld.
RuntimeDyld symbol info previously consisted of just a Section/Offset pair. This
patch replaces that pair type with a SymbolInfo class that also tracks symbol
visibility. A new method, RuntimeDyld::getExportedSymbolLoadAddress, is
introduced which only returns a non-zero result for exported symbols. For
non-exported or non-existant symbols this method will return zero. The
RuntimeDyld::getSymbolAddress method retains its current behavior, returning
non-zero results for all symbols regardless of visibility.

No in-tree clients of RuntimeDyld are changed. The newly introduced
functionality will be used by the Orc APIs.

No test case: Since this patch doesn't modify the behavior for any in-tree
clients we don't have a good tool to test this with yet. Once Orc is in we can
use it to write regression tests that test these changes.

Lang Hames 829a19ae74 [MCJIT] Clean up RuntimeDyld's quirky object-ownership/modification scheme.
Previously, when loading an object file, RuntimeDyld (1) took ownership of the
ObjectFile instance (and associated MemoryBuffer), (2) potentially modified the
object in-place, and (3) returned an ObjectImage that managed ownership of the
now-modified object and provided some convenience methods. This scheme accreted
over several years as features were tacked on to RuntimeDyld, and was both
unintuitive and unsafe (See e.g. http://llvm.org/PR20722).

This patch fixes the issue by removing all ownership and in-place modification
of object files from RuntimeDyld. Existing behavior, including debugger
registration, is preserved.

Noteworthy changes include:

(1) ObjectFile instances are now passed to RuntimeDyld by const-ref.
(2) The ObjectImage and ObjectBuffer classes have been removed entirely, they
existed to model ownership within RuntimeDyld, and so are no longer needed.
(3) RuntimeDyld::loadObject now returns an instance of a new class,
RuntimeDyld::LoadedObjectInfo, which can be used to construct a modified
object suitable for registration with the debugger, following the existing
    debugger registration scheme.
(4) The JITRegistrar class has been removed, and the GDBRegistrar class has been
    re-written as a JITEventListener.

This should fix http://llvm.org/PR20722 .

Fixed the opcode emission in RuntimeDyldImpl::createStubFunction() for AArch64,

Lang Hames b7fbf593e6 [MCJIT] Make RTDyldMemoryManager::getSymbolAddress's behaviour more consistent.
This patch modifies RTDyldMemoryManager::getSymbolAddress(Name)'s behavior to
make it consistent with how clients are using it: Name should be mangled, and
getSymbolAddress should demangle it on the caller's behalf before looking the
name up in the process. This patch also fixes the one client
(MCJIT::getPointerToFunction) that had been passing unmangled names (by having
it pass mangled names instead).

Background:

RTDyldMemoryManager::getSymbolAddress(Name) has always used a re-try mechanism
when looking up symbol names in the current process. Prior to this patch
getSymbolAddress first tried to look up 'Name' exactly as the user passed it in
and then, if that failed, tried to demangle 'Name' and re-try the look up. The
implication of this behavior is that getSymbolAddress expected to be called with
unmangled names, and that handling mangled names was a fallback for convenience.
This is inconsistent with how clients (particularly the RuntimeDyldImpl
subclasses, but also MCJIT) usually use this API. Most clients pass in mangled
names, and succeed only because of the fallback case. For clients passing in
mangled names, getSymbolAddress's old behavior was actually dangerous, as it
could cause unmangled names in the process to shadow mangled names being looked
up.

For example, consider:

foo.c:

int _x = 7;
int x() { return _x; }

foo.o:

000000000000000c D __x
0000000000000000 T _x

If foo.c becomes part of the process (E.g. via dlopen("libfoo.dylib")) it will
add symbols 'x' (the function) and '_x' (the variable) to the process. However
jit clients looking for the function 'x' will be using the mangled function name
'_x' (note how function 'x' appears in foo.o). When getSymbolAddress goes
looking for '_x' it will find the variable instead, and return its address and
in place of the function, leading to JIT'd code calling the variable and
crashing (if we're lucky).

By requiring that getSymbolAddress be called with mangled names, and demangling
only when we're about to do a lookup in the process, the new behavior
implemented in this patch should eliminate any chance of names being shadowed
during lookup.

There's no good way to test this at the moment: This issue only arrises when
looking up process symbols (not JIT'd symbols). Any test case would have to
generate a platform-appropriate dylib to pass to llvm-rtdyld, and I'm not
aware of any in-tree tool for doing this in a portable way.

Lang Hames e1287c01be [MCJIT] Move endian-aware read/writes from RuntimeDyldMachO into
RuntimeDyldImpl.

These are platform independent, and moving them to the base class allows
RuntimeDyldChecker to use them too.

Lang Hames 40e200eb69 [MCJIT][SystemZ] Use a simpler expression for indirect relocation offsets.
The expressions 'Reloc.Addend - Addend' and 'Reloc.Offset' should always be
equal in this context. The latter is prefered - we want to remove the
RelocationValueRef::Addend field in the future.
