Fangrui Song e36223c85c [ELF] Enforce two dashes for Flag options not supported by GNU ld (i.e. no compatibility burden)
Announced on https://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-dev/2020-May/141416.html

Similar to D79371, but for `multiclass B` (convenience helper for defining --foo and --no-foo)

Some changed options are also used by gold, but I haven't seen their
one-dash use cases outside of lld's testsuite.

Georgii Rymar e4ceb8f421 [lib/ObjectYAML] - Make `ELFYAML::Relocation::Offset` optional.
Currently `yaml2obj` require `Offset` field in a relocation description.
There are many cases when `Offset` is insignificant in a context of a test case.

Making `Offset` optional allows to simplify our test cases.
This is what this patch does.

Also, with this patch `obj2yaml` does not dump a zero offset of a relocation.

Fangrui Song 81cebfd008 [ELF][test] Change -o %t to -o /dev/null if the output is not needed 2020-02-12 21:54:50 -08:00
George Rimar ff3397247f [LLD] - Update the test cases after yaml2obj change.
https://reviews.llvm.org/D60122 (r357595) changed the
symbols description format.

This change updates the LLD tests.

Rui Ueyama b8b81e9b43 Improve error message for unknown relocations.
Previously, we showed the following message for an unknown relocation:

  foo.o: unrecognized reloc 256

This patch improves it so that the error message includes a symbol name:

foo.o: unknown relocation (256) against symbol bar

Rui Ueyama be85529d2b Remove one parameter from Target::getRelExpr.
A section was passed to getRelExpr just to create an error message.
But if there's an invalid relocation, we would eventually report it
in relocateOne. So we don't have to pass a section to getRelExpr.

Rafael Espindola 8b1afd59c3 Speed up gdb index creation.
With that in place we can use lld's own infrastructure for the low
level detail of dwarf parsing.

With this we don't decompress sections twice, we don't scan all
realocations and even with this simplistic implementation linking
clang with gdb index goes from 34.09 seconds to 20.80 seconds.

George Rimar 1b51b7fc7f [ELF] - Fail the link if something happens on DWARF parsing stage of -gdb-index building
This is relative to PR33173,

Previously if something wrong happened on DWARF parsers side during parsing
object for building gdb index (like was in PR: unsupported relocation)
then LLD continued and finished the link. DWARF parsers sure showed error
message on their side, but that is all.

Patch changes behavior to fail the link in this case and show more
detailed message.
