Manuel Klimek e0495d987c [libclang] Return deduced type for auto type, not the one written in the source.
It used to work, but was accidentally broken by r179769.
The issue with decayed types was fixed by r190796.
So this patch partially reverts r179769, and adds more tests.

This also fixes PR 18669.

Adrian Prantl 6b21ab21d1 Add a -gmodules option to the driver and a -dwarf-ext-refs to cc1
to enable the use of external type references in the debug info
(a.k.a. module debugging).

The driver expands -gmodules to "-g -fmodule-format=obj -dwarf-ext-refs"
and passes that to cc1. All this does at the moment is set a flag
codegenopts.

Yaron Keren 556b21aa10 Remove and forbid raw_svector_ostream::flush() calls.
After r244870 flush() will only compare two null pointers and return,
doing nothing but wasting run time. The call is not required any more
as the stream and its SmallString are always in sync.

Pete Cooper 57d3f14502 Use llvm::reverse to make a bunch of loops use foreach. NFC.
In llvm commit r243581, a reverse range adapter was added which allows
us to change code such as

  for (auto I = Fields.rbegin(), E = Fields.rend(); I != E; ++I) {

in to

  for (const FieldDecl *I : llvm::reverse(Fields))

This commit changes a few of the places in clang which are eligible to use
this new adapter.

Alexey Bataev 10e775f4a8 [OPENMP 4.1] Initial support for extended 'ordered' clause.
OpenMP 4.1 introduces optional argument '(n)' for 'ordered' clause, where 'n' is a number of loops that immediately follow the directive.
'n' must be constant positive integer expressions and it must be less or equal than the number of the loops in the resulting loop nest.
Patch adds parsing and semantic analysis for this optional argument.

Adrian Prantl fb2398d0c4 Make the clang module container format selectable from the command line.
- introduces a new cc1 option -fmodule-format=[raw,obj]
  with 'raw' being the default
- supports arbitrary module container formats that libclang is agnostic to
- adds the format to the module hash to avoid collisions
- splits the old PCHContainerOperations into PCHContainerWriter and
  a PCHContainerReader.

Yaron Keren 45a5bfef44 Add clang_free to libclang to free memory allocated in libclang.
One of the problems libclang tests has running under Windows is memory
allocated in libclang.dll but being freed in the test executable, possibly
by a different memory manager. This patch exposes a new export function,
clang_free(), used to free any allocated memory with the same libclang.dll
memory manager that allocated the memory.

Adrian Prantl e50371b948 Wrap clang modules and pch files in an object file container.
This patch adds ObjectFilePCHContainerOperations uses the LLVM backend
to put the contents of a PCH into a __clangast section inside a COFF, ELF,
or Mach-O object file container.

This is done to facilitate module debugging by makeing it possible to
store the debug info for the types defined by a module alongside the AST.

Douglas Gregor 9bda6cff20 C++ support for Objective-C lightweight generics.
Teach C++'s tentative parsing to handle specializations of Objective-C
class types (e.g., NSArray<NSString *>) as well as Objective-C
protocol qualifiers (id<NSCopying>) by extending type-annotation
tokens to handle this case. As part of this, remove Objective-C
protocol qualifiers from the declaration specifiers, which never
really made sense: instead, provide Sema entry points to make them
part of the type annotation token. Among other things, this properly
diagnoses bogus types such as "<NSCopying> id" which should have been
written as "id <NSCopying>".

Implements template instantiation support for, e.g., NSArray<T>*
in C++. Note that parameterized classes are not templates in the C++
sense, so that cannot (for example) be used as a template argument for
a template template parameter. Part of rdar://problem/6294649.

Douglas Gregor e9d95f1ecc Handle Objective-C type arguments.
Objective-C type arguments can be provided in angle brackets following
an Objective-C interface type. Syntactically, this is the same
position as one would provide protocol qualifiers (e.g.,
id<NSCopying>), so parse both together and let Sema sort out the
ambiguous cases. This applies both when parsing types and when parsing
the superclass of an Objective-C class, which can now be a specialized
type (e.g., NSMutableArray<T> inherits from NSArray<T>).

Check Objective-C type arguments against the type parameters of the
corresponding class. Verify the length of the type argument list and
that each type argument satisfies the corresponding bound.

Specializations of parameterized Objective-C classes are represented
in the type system as distinct types. Both specialized types (e.g.,
NSArray<NSString *> *) and unspecialized types (NSArray *) are
represented, separately.

Douglas Gregor 85f3f9513d Parsing, semantic analysis, and AST for Objective-C type parameters.
Produce type parameter declarations for Objective-C type parameters,
and attach lists of type parameters to Objective-C classes,
categories, forward declarations, and extensions as
appropriate. Perform semantic analysis of type bounds for type
parameters, both in isolation and across classes/categories/extensions
to ensure consistency.

Also handle (de-)serialization of Objective-C type parameter lists,
along with sundry other things one must do to add a new declaration to
Clang.

Note that Objective-C type parameters are typedef name declarations,
like typedefs and C++11 type aliases, in support of type erasure.

Adrian Prantl bb165fb04d Introduce a PCHContainerOperations interface (NFC).
A PCHContainerOperations abstract interface provides operations for
creating and unwrapping containers for serialized ASTs (precompiled
headers and clang modules). The default implementation is
RawPCHContainerOperations, which uses a flat file for the output.

The main application for this interface will be an
ObjectFilePCHContainerOperations implementation that uses LLVM to
wrap the module in an ELF/Mach-O/COFF container to store debug info
alongside the AST.

Alexey Bataev 040d540940 [OPENMP] Fixed support for 'schedule' clause with non-constant chunk size.
'schedule' clause for combined directives requires additional processing. Special helper variable is generated, that is captured in the outlined parallel region for 'parallel for' region. This captured variable is used to store chunk expression from the 'schedule' clause in this 'parallel for' region.

Richard Smith 66a8186ed4 Rename MacroDefinition -> MacroDefinitionRecord, Preprocessor::MacroDefinition -> MacroDefinition.
clang::MacroDefinition now models the currently-defined value of a macro. The
previous MacroDefinition type, which represented a record of a macro definition
directive for a detailed preprocessing record, is now called MacroDefinitionRecord.

Richard Smith 20e883e59b [modules] Stop trying to fake up a linear MacroDirective history.
Modules builds fundamentally have a non-linear macro history. In the interest
of better source fidelity, represent the macro definition information
faithfully: we have a linear macro directive history within each module, and at
any point we have a unique "latest" local macro directive and a collection of
visible imported directives. This also removes the attendent complexity of
attempting to create a correct MacroDirective history (which we got wrong
in the general case).

No functionality change intended.

Checking for a non-master thread is performed by comparing of the address of the thread local variable with the address of the master's variable. Master thread always uses original variables, so you always know the address of the variable in the master thread.

All list items from all 'copyprivate' clauses are gathered into single <copyprivate list> (<copyprivate_list_size> is a size in bytes of this list) and <copy_func> is used to propagate values of private or threadprivate variables from the 'single' region to other implicit threads from outer 'parallel' region.

Richard Smith f19e12794d Replace Sema's map of locally-scoped extern "C" declarations with a DeclContext
of extern "C" declarations. This is simpler and vastly more efficient for
modules builds (we no longer need to load *all* extern "C" declarations to
determine if we have a redeclaration).

The .pcm files become containers that hold the serialized AST which allows
us to store debug information in the module file that can be shared by all
object files that were built importing the module.

This reapplies r230044 with a fixed configure+make build and updated
dependencies and testcase requirements. Over the last iteration this
version adds
- missing target requirements for testcases that specify an x86 triple,
- a missing clangCodeGen.a dependency to libClang.a in the make build.

Derek Schuff 3970a7ec9b Remove support for pnaclcall attribute
Summary:
It was used for interoperability with PNaCl's calling conventions, but
it's no longer needed.

Also Remove NaCl*ABIInfo which just existed to delegate to either the portable
or native ABIInfo, and remove checkCallingConvention which was now a no-op
override.

Francisco Lopes da Silva 0c010cddb3 Improves overload completion result chunks.
The code building the code completion string for overloads was providing
less detail compared to the one building completion strings for function
declarations. There was no information about optionals and no information
about what's a parameter and what's a function identifier, everything
besides ResultType, CurrentParameter and special characters was classified
as Text.

This makes code completion strings for overload candidates to follow a
pattern very similar, but not identical, to the one in use for function
declarations:

 - return type chunk: ResultType
 - function identifier chunk: Text
 - parameter chunks: Placeholder
 - optional parameter chunks: Optional
 - current parameter chunk: CurrentParameter

The improved completion in call context now works with:

Alexander Kornienko 21de0ae3d4 Re-apply "r226548 - Introduce SPIR calling conventions" reverted in r226558.
The test was fixed after a discussion with the revision author: the check
pattern was made more flexible as the "%call" part is not what we actually want
to check strictly there.

Argyrios Kyrtzidis 6cc5f73e38 [libclang] When initializing an ObjC object via the "[[ClassName alloc] init*]" pattern,
report the 'init*' invocation as non-dynamic via clang_Cursor_isDynamicCall.

Of course it is dynamic at runtime, but for purposes of indexing we can treat as an invocation to ClassName's init*.

Richard Smith 0f0af19b05 [c++1z] N4295: fold-expressions.
This is a new form of expression of the form:

  (expr op ... op expr)

where one of the exprs is a parameter pack. It expands into

  (expr1 op (expr2onwards op ... op expr))

(and likewise if the pack is on the right). The non-pack operand can be
omitted; in that case, an empty pack gives a fallback value or an error,
depending on the operator.

Daniel Jasper cb3e6188bc Refactor libTooling to reduce required dependencies.
This moves classes for storing and applying replacements to separate
files. These classes specifically are used by clang-format which doesn't
have any other dependencies on clangAST. Thereby, the size of
clang-format's binary can be cut roughly in half and its build time sped
up.

Reid Kleckner d7857f05f4 Add frontend support for __vectorcall
Wire it through everywhere we have support for fastcall, essentially.

This allows us to parse the MSVC "14" CTP headers, but we will
miscompile them because LLVM doesn't support __vectorcall yet.

Richard Smith feb54b6ded Refactor implementation of 'exclude header'.
This was not a real header role, and was never exposed to clients of ModuleMap.
Remove the enumeration value for it and track it as marking the header as
'known' rather than creating an extra KnownHeader entry that *every single*
client ignores.

Alexey Bataev 03b340a3a5 [OPENMP] Codegen for 'private' clause in 'parallel' directive.
This patch generates some helper variables which used as a private copies of the corresponding original variables inside an OpenMP 'parallel' directive. These generated variables are initialized by default (with the default constructor, if any). In outlined function references to original variables are replaced by the references to these private helper variables. At the end of the initialization of the private variables and implicit barier is set by calling __kmpc_barrier(...) runtime function to be sure that all threads were initialized using original values of the variables.

Justin Bogner d512c1edf0 Frontend: Don't accept null DiagnosticsEngines when building ASTUnits
The various ways to create an ASTUnit all take a refcounted pointer to
a diagnostics engine as an argument, and if it isn't pointing at
anything they initialize it. This is a pretty confusing API, and it
really makes more sense for the caller to initialize the thing since
they control the lifetime anyway.

This fixes the one caller that didn't bother initializing the pointer
and asserts that the argument is initialized.

makes it difficult to reuse this logic elsewhere. This extracts the

Justin Bogner a8dd73229e Correctly handle reading locations from serialized diagnostics
When reading a serialized diagnostic location with no file ID, we were
failing to increment the cursor past the rest of the location. This
would lead to the flags and category always appearing blank in such
diagnostics.

This changes the function to unconditionally increment the cursor and
updates the test to check for the correct output instead of testing
that we were doing this wrong. I've also updated the error check to
check for the correct number of fields.

David Blaikie cdba84c0d3 CompilationDatabase: Sure-up ownership of compilation databases using std::unique_ptr
Diving into the memory leaks fixed by r213851 there was one case of a
memory leak of a CompilationDatabase due to not properly taking
ownership of the result of "CompilationDatabase::autoDetectFromSource".
Given that both implementations and callers have been using unique_ptr
to own CompilationDatabase objects - make this explicit in the API to
reduce the risk of further leaks.

Alp Toker 0621cb2e7d Make clang's rewrite engine a core feature
The rewrite facility's footprint is small so it's not worth going to these
lengths to support disabling at configure time, particularly since key compiler
features now depend on it.

Meanwhile the Objective-C rewriters have been moved under the
ENABLE_CLANG_ARCMT umbrella for now as they're comparatively heavy and still
potentially worth excluding from lightweight builds.

Tests are now passing with any combination of feature flags. The flags
historically haven't been tested by LLVM's build servers so caveat emptor.

David Blaikie 66cc07b4f7 Remove 'const' from MemoryBuffers used through the SourceManager
This removes a const_cast added in r211884 that occurred due to an
inconsistency in how MemoryBuffers are handled between some parts of
clang and LLVM.

MemoryBuffers are immutable and the general convention in the LLVM
project is to omit const from immutable types as it's simply
redundant/verbose (see llvm::Type, for example). While this change
doesn't remove "const" from /every/ MemoryBuffer, it at least makes this
chain of ownership/usage consistent.

Chandler Carruth 6666074876 Fix a bug in my previous patch by restoring the behavior that the fatal
error handler is only registered once.

To avoid the use of std::call_once (the obvious way to do this) I've
wrapped everything up into a managed static and done the work in
a constructor. Silly, but it should be effective.

Some out-of-tree libclang users reported this to me, and I've asked them
to put together a test case which exhibits this behavior, but I wanted
to fix things ASAP since the nature of the fix is straight forward.

This corrects long-standing misuses of LLVM's internal config.h.

In most cases the public llvm-config.h header was intended and we can now
remove the old hacks thanks to LLVM r210144.

Nico Weber 7dd96c23fd Don't leak the CXStoredDiagnostics returned by clang_codeCompleteGetDiagnostic()
r144269 changed clang_disposeDiagnostic() to be a no-op, but didn't update
code completion diagnostics.  Let CXCodeCompleteResults store all diagnostics
returned by clang_codeCompleteGetDiagnostic() and then free them up in
clang_disposeCodeCompleteResults().

Code completion diagnostics referred to data stored in CXCodeCompleteResults
before already, so it wasn't possible to refer to the results of
clang_codeCompleteGetDiagnostic() after clang_disposeCodeCompleteResults()
before this change already -- hence this should be a safe, backwards-compatible
change.

Leak found by LSan, fixes PR19690.

It's possible that the "comment AST" may be replaced or split out in the
midterm, any anyway this makes the headers easier to read.

Developers don't currently need to include "clang-c/Documentation.h" explicitly
and there's no macro to test for availability yet.

The raw comment and brief comment accessors have been kept in Index.h though
brief support may also move here as a separate proposal.

This is not a deprecation, just a gentle separation of concerns as we look to
simplify the built-in representation of comment nodes and support external
comment processors.

The change was landed without review or test cases.

It trivially broke almost any stable application checking for Severity >=
CXDiagnostic_Error or indeed any other kind of severity comparison upon
encountering a 'remark'.

Mapped to CXDiagnostic_Warning until a workable solution is proposed to the
list that preserves API stability.

(It's also not clear why the rest of r202475 wasn't simply implemented as a
modifier to the existing 'warning' level.)

Chandler Carruth e24605bbcd [cleanup] Stop specifying size overrides for BumpPtrAllocators.
These don't seem to have any real point. Let's start with
IndexingContext. I can't come up with any conceivable reason to have
many hundereds of thousands of these alive in an address space which
would make the 4x difference in allocated (but unused) memory for the
string scratch buffer a significant memory usage problem.

The EditedSource one is somewhat more surprising. This is an 8x increase
in the memory allocated (but not used) per editted source file. However,
for this to realistically be a problem, you would need to have over half
a million editted source files in a single address space, and even that
would only really have problems on 32-bit Windows where you really only
have 2gb of virtual address space. And what's more important, the fix to
this if it is actually an issue shouldn't be to shrink the allocator's
size, it is to pass a single allocator into *many* edited source file
objects and let them share the memory.

These were the only two uses of custom sized BumpPtrAllocators
(excluding ones in the JIT using a custom allocation strategy) in all of
LLVM, Clang, LLD, LLDB, or Polly. I don't think we actually need this
complexity in the primary BumpPtrAllocator at all and am planning to
remove it.

Chandler Carruth 757fcd6d1f [cleanup] Re-sort includes with llvm/utils/sort_includes.py and fix
a missing include from CLog.h.

CLog.h referenced most of the core libclang types but never directly
included Index.h that provides them. Previously it got lucky and other
headers were always included first but with the sorting it ended up
first in one case and stopped compiling. Adding the Index.h include
fixes it right up.

Jordan Rose 7ef1c387a0 Serialized diagnostic severity levels should be stable.
Serialized diagnostics were accidentally using the AST diagnostic level values
rather than a dedicated stable enum, so the addition of "remark" broke the
reading of existing serialized diagnostics files. I've added a .dia file
generated from Xcode 5's Clang to make sure we don't break this in the future.

Tobias Grosser 741602461d Add 'remark' diagnostic type in 'clang'
A 'remark' is information that is not an error or a warning, but rather some
additional information provided to the user. In contrast to a 'note' a 'remark'
is an independent diagnostic, whereas a 'note' always depends on another
diagnostic.

A typical use case for remark nodes is information provided to the user, e.g.
information provided by the vectorizer about loops that have been vectorized.

This patch provides the initial implementation of 'remarks'. It includes the
actual definiton of the remark nodes, their printing as well as basic parameter
handling. We are reusing the existing diagnostic parameters which means a remark
can be enabled with normal '-Wdiagnostic-name' flags and can be upgraded to
an error using '-Werror=diagnostic-name'. '-Werror' alone does not upgrade
remarks.

This patch is by intention minimal in terms of parameter handling. More
experience and more discussions will most likely lead to further enhancements
in the parameter handling.
