This batch of intrinsics fills in all the shift instructions that take
a variable shift distance in a register, instead of an immediate. Some
of these instructions take a single shift distance in a scalar
register and apply it to all lanes; others take a vector of per-lane
distances.
These instructions are all basically one family, varying in whether
they saturate out-of-range values, and whether they round when bits
are shifted off the bottom. I've implemented them at the IR level by a
much smaller family of IR intrinsics, which take flag parameters to
indicate saturating and/or rounding (along with the usual one to
specify signed/unsigned integers).
An oddity is that all of them are //left// shift instructions – but if
you pass a negative shift count, they'll shift right. So the vector
shift distances are always vectors of //signed// integers, regardless
of whether you're considering the other input vector to be of signed
or unsigned. Also, even the simplest `vshlq` instruction in this
family (neither saturating nor rounding) has to be implemented as an
IR intrinsic, because the ordinary LLVM IR `shl` operation would
consider an out-of-range shift count to be undefined behavior.

This batch of intrinsics covers two sets of immediate shift
instructions, which have in common that they only overwrite part of
their output register and so they need an extra input giving its
previous value.
The VSLI and VSRI instructions shift each lane of the input vector
left or right just as if they were normal immediate VSHL/VSHR, but
then they only overwrite the output bits that correspond to actual
shifted bits of the input. So VSLI will leave the low n bits of each
output lane unchanged, and VSRI the same with the top n bits.
The V[Q][R]SHR[U]N family are all narrowing shifts: they take an input
vector of 2n-bit integers, shift each lane right by a constant, and
then narrowing the shifted result to only n bits. So they only
overwrite half of the n-bit lanes in the output register, and the B/T
suffix indicates whether it's the bottom or top half of each 2n-bit
lane.
I've implemented the whole of the latter family using a single IR
intrinsic `vshrn`, which takes a lot of i32 parameters indicating
which instruction it expands to (by specifying signedness of the input
and output types, whether it saturates and/or rounds, etc).

An empty string literal in an asm label does not make a whole lot of sense. GCC
does not diagnose such a construct, but it also generates code that cannot be
assembled by gas should two symbols have an empty asm label within the same TU.
This does not affect an asm statement with an empty string literal, which is
still a useful construct.
Apple's CPUs are called A7-A13 in official communication, occasionally with
weird suffixes which we probably don't need to care about. This adds each one
and describes its features. It also switches the default CPU to the canonical
name for Cyclone, but leaves legacy support in so that existing bitcode still
compiles.
According to D53384, the default was switched from -fno-PIC to -fPIC to
work around a -fsanitize=leak bug on big-endian.
This gratuitous difference between little-endian and big-endian is
undesired, and not acceptable on powerpc64-unknown-freebsd. If
-fsanitize=leak still has the problem, we should consider defaulting to
-fPIC/-fPIE only when -fsanitize=leak is specified (see SanitizerArgs::requiresPIE())
powerpc64-ibm-aix is unaffected: it still defaults to -fPIC.
powerpc64-linux-musl is unaffected (-fPIE since D39588): it still defaults to -fPIE.

Every powerpc64le platform uses elfv2.
For powerpc64, the environments "elfv1" and "elfv2" were added for
FreeBSD ELFv1->ELFv2 migration in D61950. FreeBSD developers have
decided to use OS versions to select ABI, and no one is relying on the
environments.
Also use elfv2 on powerpc64-linux-musl.
Users can always use -mabi=elfv1 and -mabi=elfv2 to override the default
ABI.

If standalone OpenMP declaration pragma, like declare mapper or declare
reduction, is declared in the class context, it may reference a member
(data or function) in its internal expressions/statements. So, the
parsing of such pragmas must be dalayed just like the parsing of the
member initializers/definitions before the completion of the class
declaration.
It turns out it is useful to be able to define the deref type as void.
In case we have a type erased owner, we want to express that the pointee
can be basically any type. It should not be unnatural to have a void
deref type as we already familiar with "pointers to void".

According to the standard, a list-item that appears in a linear clause without the ref modifier must be of integral or pointer type, or must be a reference to an integral or pointer type. Added check that this restriction is applied only to non-ref items.
pack expansion.
Previously, if all parameter / argument pairs for a pack expansion
deduction were non-deduced contexts, we would not deduce the arity of
the pack, and could end up deducing a different arity (leading to
failures during substitution) or defaulting to an arity of 0 (leading to
bad diagnostics about passing the wrong number of arguments to a
variadic function). Instead, we now always deduce the arity for all
involved packs any time we deduce a pack expansion.
This will result in less substitution happening in some cases, which
could avoid non-SFINAEable errors, and should generally improve the
quality of diagnostics when passing initializer lists to variadic
functions.

@implementation didn't have 'D' in it when the protocol it conforms to
redeclares the property declared in the base protocol.

Summary:
Running an end-to-end test last week I noticed that a lot of the ACLE
intrinsics that operate differently on vectors of signed and unsigned
integers were ending up generating the signed version of the
instruction unconditionally. This is because the IR intrinsics had no
way to distinguish signed from unsigned: the LLVM type system just
calls them both `v8i16` (or whatever), so you need either separate
intrinsics for signed and unsigned, or a flag parameter that tells
ISel which one to choose.
This patch fixes all the problems of that kind that I've noticed, by
adding an i32 flag parameter to many of the IR intrinsics which is set
to 1 for unsigned (matching the existing practice in cases where we
got it right), and conditioning all the isel patterns on that flag. So
the fundamental change is in `IntrinsicsARM.td`, changing the
low-level IR intrinsics API; there are knock-on changes in
`arm_mve.td` (adjusting code gen for the ACLE intrinsics to use the
modified API) and in `ARMInstrMVE.td` (adjusting isel to expect the
new unsigned flags). The rest of this patch is boringly updating tests.

Summary:
The ACLE intrinsics with `gather_base` or `scatter_base` in the name
are wrappers on the MVE load/store instructions that take a vector of
base addresses and an immediate offset. The immediate offset can be up
to 127 times the alignment unit, and it can be positive or negative.
At the MC layer, we got that right. But in the Sema error checking for
the wrapping intrinsics, the offset was erroneously constrained to be
positive.
To fix this I've adjusted the `imm_mem7bit` class in the Tablegen that
defines the intrinsics. But that causes integer literals like
`0xfffffffffffffe04` to appear in the autogenerated calls to
`SemaBuiltinConstantArgRange`, which provokes a compiler warning
because that's out of the non-overflowing range of an `int64_t`. So
I've also tweaked `MveEmitter` to emit that as `-0x1fc` instead.
Updated the tests of the Sema checks themselves, and also adjusted a
random sample of the CodeGen tests to actually use negative offsets
and prove they get all the way through code generation without causing
a crash.

Driver test `cross-linux.c` fails when CLANG_DEFAULT_RTLIB is "compiler-rt"
as the it expects a GCC-style `"crtbegin.o"` after `"crti.o"` but instead
receives something akin to this in the frontend invocation:

This patch adds an override to `cross-linux.c` tests so the expected result
is produced regardless of the compile-time default rtlib, as having tests

Added codegen support for lastprivate conditional. According to the
standard, if when the conditional modifier appears on the clause, if an
assignment to a list item is encountered in the construct then the
original list item is assigned the value that is assigned to the new
list item in the sequentially last iteration or lexically last section
in which such an assignment is encountered.
We look for the assignment operations and check if the left side
references lastprivate conditional variable. Then the next code is
emitted:

At the end the implicit barrier is generated to wait for the end of all
threads and then in the check for the last iteration the private copy is
assigned the last value.

Rather than handling zlib handling manually, use `find_package` from CMake
to find zlib properly. Use this to normalize the `LLVM_ENABLE_ZLIB`,
`HAVE_ZLIB`, `HAVE_ZLIB_H`. Furthermore, require zlib if `LLVM_ENABLE_ZLIB` is
set to `YES`, which requires the distributor to explicitly select whether
zlib is enabled or not. This simplifies the CMake handling and usage in
the rest of the tooling.

The current handling of the operators ||, && and ?: has a number of false
positive and false negative. The issues for operator || and && are:
1. We need to add sequencing regions for the LHS and RHS as is done for the
comma operator. Not doing so causes false positives in expressions like
`((a++, false) || (a++, false))` (from PR39779, see PR22197 for another
example).
2. In the current implementation when the evaluation of the LHS fails, the RHS
is added to a worklist to be processed later. This results in false negatives
in expressions like `(a && a++) + a`.
Fix these issues by introducing sequencing regions for the LHS and RHS, and by
not deferring the visitation of the RHS.
The issues with the ternary operator ?: are similar, with the added twist that
we should not warn on expressions like `(x ? y += 1 : y += 2)` since exactly
one of the 2nd and 3rd expression is going to be evaluated, but we should still
warn on expressions like `(x ? y += 1 : y += 2) = y`.

gcc/config/{i386,s390} support -mnop-mcount. We currently only support
-mnop-mcount for SystemZ. The function attribute "mnop-mcount" is
ignored on other targets.
gcc/config/{i386,s390} support -mfentry. We currently only support
-mfentry for X86 and SystemZ. TargetOpcode::FENTRY_CALL is not handled
on other targets.

fatal error: error in backend: Not supported instr: <MCInst 21>
-mfentry, -mrecord-mcount, and -mnop-mcount were invented for Linux
ftrace. Linux uses $(call cc-option-yn,-mrecord-mcount) to detect if the
specific feature is available. Reject unsupported features so that Linux
build system will not wrongly consider them available and cause
build/runtime failures.
Note, GCC has stricter checks that we do not implement, e.g. -fpic/-fpie
-fnop-mcount is not allowed on x86, -fpic/-fpie -mfentry is not allowed
on x86-32.
GCC's x86 and s390 ports support -mrecord-mcount. Other ports reject the
option.
aarch64-linux-gnu-gcc: error: unrecognized command line option ‘-mrecord-mcount’
Allowing this option can cause failures when building Linux kernel for
aarch64, powerpc64, etc, which will think the feature is available if
the clang command returns 0.
This is a purely cosmetic change that is NFC in terms of the binary
output. I bugs me that I called the attribute DW_AT_LLVM_isysroot
since the "i" is an artifact of GCC command line option syntax
(-isysroot is in the category of -i options) and doesn't carry any
useful information otherwise.

Because the name of a direct method must be agreed upon by the caller
and the implementation, certain bad practices that one can get away with
when using dynamism are fatal with direct methods.
To avoid really weird and unscruttable linker error, tighten the
front-end error reporting.
Rule 1:
Direct methods can only have at most one declaration in an @interface
container. Any redeclaration is strictly forbidden.
Today some amount of redeclaration is tolerated between the main
interface and categories for dynamic methods, but we can't have that.
Rule 2:
Direct method implementations can only be declared in a matching
@interface container: when implemented in the primary @implementation
then the declaration must be in the primary @interface or an
extension, and when implemented in a category, the declaration must be
in the @interface for the same category.
Also fix another issue with ObjCMethod::getCanonicalDecl(): when an
implementation lives in the primary @interface, then its canonical
declaration can be in any extension, even when it's not an accessor.
Add Sema tests to cover the new errors, and CG tests to beef up testing
around function names for categories and extensions.

In the current implementation of clang the canonicalization of paths in
diagnostic messages (when using -fdiagnostics-absolute-paths) only works
if the symbolic link is in the directory part of the filename, not if
the file itself is a symbolic link to another file.
This patch adds support to canonicalize the complete path including the
file.

The language wording change forgot to update overload resolution to rank
implicit conversion sequences based on qualification conversions in
reference bindings. The anticipated resolution for that oversight is
implemented here -- we order candidates based on qualification
conversion, not only on top-level cv-qualifiers.
For OpenCL/C++, this allows reference binding between pointers with
differing (nested) address spaces. This makes the behavior of reference
binding consistent with that of implicit pointer conversions, as is the
purpose of this change, but that pre-existing behavior for pointer
conversions is itself probably not correct. In any case, it's now
consistently the same behavior and implemented in only one place.
Method '-[NSCoder decodeValueOfObjCType:at:]' is not only deprecated
but also a security hazard, hence a loud check.

We don't yet advertise init capture packs, because I found some bugs
while testing it. We reject-valid and then crash on both of these:

Enabling `-Wcast-qual` identified many casts in various system headers
that were dropping the `const` qualifier. Fixing those missing
qualifiers pointed out that a few of the definitions of the builtins

commit fixes those builtin definitions, and the system header files
so that they no longer drop the qualifier.

On Darwin, when used for generating a linked binary from a source file
(through an intermediate object file), the driver will invoke `cc1` to
generate a temporary object file. The temporary remark file will now be
emitted next to the object file, which will then be picked up by
`dsymutil` and emitted in the .dSYM bundle.
This is available for all formats except YAML since by default, YAML
doesn't need a section and the remark file will be lost.
Summary:
The vector pattern `(a + b + 1) / 2` was previously selected to an
avgr_u instruction regardless of nuw flags, but this is incorrect in
the case where either addition may have an unsigned wrap. This CL
changes the existing pattern to require both adds to have nuw flags

When clang is invoked with a source file without -c or -S, it creates a
cc1 job, a linker job and if debug info is requested, a dsymutil job. In
case of remarks, we should also create a dsymutil job to avoid losing
the remarks that will be generated in a tempdir that gets removed.

MallocChecker warns when memory is passed into -[NSData initWithBytesNoCopy]
but isn't allocated by malloc(), because it will be deallocated by free().
However, initWithBytesNoCopy has an overload that takes an arbitrary block
for deallocating the object. If such overload is used, it is no longer
necessary to make sure that the memory is allocated by malloc().

No functionality change, except that we now convert the referent of a
reference binding to the underlying type of the reference in more cases;
we used to happen to preserve the type sugar from the referent if the
only type change was in the cv-qualifiers.
This exposed a bug in how we generate code for trivial assignment
operators: if the type sugar (particularly the may_alias attribute)
got lost during reference binding, we'd use the "wrong" TBAA information
for the load during the assignment.
Since VFS paths can be in either Posix or Windows style, we have to use
a more flexible definition of "absolute" path.
The key here is that FileSystem::makeAbsolute is now virtual, and the
RedirectingFileSystem override checks for either concept of absolute
before trying to make the path absolute by combining it with the current
directory.

The driver actually adds a default -mlinker-version, based on HOST_LINK_VERSION
cmake variable. The tests should be explicit about which version they're using to
trigger the right behavior.
The following intrinsics currently carry a rounding mode metadata argument:

In Xcode 11, ld added a new flag called -platform_version that can be used instead of the old -<platform>_version_min flags.
The new flag allows Clang to pass the SDK version from the driver to the linker.
This patch adopts the new -platform_version flag in Clang, and starts using it by default,

floats were converted to doubles, which is incorrect. There WAS a patch
to remove the cast after the fact.
THis patch switches these builtins to just be custom type checking,
calls the implicit conversions for the integer members, and makes sure
the correct L->R casts are put into place, then does type checking like
normal.
A future direction (that wouldn't be NFC) would consider making
conversions for the floating point parameter legal.
Note: The initial patch for this missed that certain systems need to
still convert half to float, since they dont' support that type.
Add constexpr evaluation for ExtVectorElementExpr nodes by evaluating

Summary:
With DWARF5 it is no longer possible to distinguish normal methods and methods with `__attribute__((objc_direct))` by just looking at the debug information
as they are both now children of the of the DW_TAG_structure_type that defines them (before only the `__attribute__((objc_direct))` methods were children).
This means that in LLDB we are no longer able to create a correct Clang AST of a module by just looking at the debug information. Instead we would
need to call the Objective-C runtime to see which of the methods have a `__attribute__((objc_direct))` and then add the attribute to our own Clang AST
depending on what the runtime returns. This would mean that we either let the module AST be dependent on the Objective-C runtime (which doesn't
seem right) or we retroactively add the missing attribute to the imported AST in our expressions.
A third option is to annotate methods with `__attribute__((objc_direct))` as `DW_AT_APPLE_objc_direct` which is what this patch implements. This way
LLDB doesn't have to call the runtime for any `__attribute__((objc_direct))` method and the AST in our module will already be correct when we create it.

GCC implicitly adds an .exe suffix if it is given an output file name,
but the file name doesn't contain a suffix, and there are certain
users of GCC that rely on this behaviour (and run into issues when
trying to use Clang instead of GCC). And MSVC's cl.exe also does the
same (but not link.exe).
However, GCC only does this when actually running on windows, not when
operating as a cross compiler.
As GCC doesn't have this behaviour when cross compiling, we definitely
shouldn't introduce the behaviour in such cases (as it would break
at least as many cases as this fixes).

We previously forgot to check this, and happened to get away with it
(with bad diagnostics) only because we misclassified incomplete
enumeration types as not being unscoped enumeration types. This also
fixes the misclassification.
This covers:
* usual arithmetic conversions (comparisons, arithmetic, conditionals)
between different enumeration types
* usual arithmetic conversions between enums and floating-point types
* comparisons between two operands of array type
The deprecation warnings are on-by-default (in C++20 compilations); it
seems likely that these forms will become ill-formed in C++23, so
warning on them now by default seems wise.
For the first two bullets, off-by-default warnings were also added for
all the cases where we didn't already have warnings (covering language
modes prior to C++20). These warnings are in subgroups of the existing
-Wenum-conversion (except that the first case is not warned on if either
enumeration type is anonymous, consistent with our existing
-Wenum-conversion warnings).
This change updates the clang front end to add symbols to llvm.used
when they have explicit export_name attribute.

In https://reviews.llvm.org/D62550 @rsmith pointed out that there are
many situations in which a coroutine body statement may be
transformed/rebuilt as part of a template instantiation, and my naive
check whether the coroutine was a generic lambda was insufficient.
This is indeed true, as I've learned by reading more of the
TreeTransform code. Most transformations are written in a way that
doesn't assume the resulting types are not dependent types. So the
assertion in 'TransformCoroutineBodyStmt', that the promise type must no
longer be dependent, is out of place.
This patch removes the assertion, spruces up some code comments, and
adds a test that would have failed with my naive check from
https://reviews.llvm.org/D62550.

The original 'hack' didn't chop out fp-16 to double conversions, so
systems that use FP16ConversionIntrinsics end up in IR-CodeGen with an
i16 type isntead of a float type (like PPC64-BE). The bots noticed
this.
Reverting until I figure out how to fix this
dependent template names.
Apparently we didn't test this in the test suite because we have
a lot of redundant ways of representing this situation that kick
in in the more common situations. For example, DependentTST stores
a qualifier + identifier pair rather than a TemplateName.

As brought up in D71467, a group of floating point builtins
automatically promoted floats to doubles because they used the variadic
builtin tag to support an overload set. The result is that the
parameters were treated as a variadic pack, which always promots
float->double.
This resulted in the wrong answer being given in cases with certain
values of NaN.
This requires us to essentially fully form the body of the defaulted
comparison, but from an unevaluated context. Naively this would require
generating the function definition twice; instead, we ensure that the
function body is implicitly defined before performing the check, and
walk the actual body where possible.

Also fix cases where we would not consider the computation of a VLA type
when determining whether an expression can throw. We don't yet properly
determine whether a VLA can throw, but no longer incorrectly claim it
can never throw.
This patch introduces the namespaces for the configured functions and

I added an optional Scope field for every configured function. Functions
without Scope match for every function regardless of the namespace.
Functions with Scope will match if the full name of the function starts
with the Scope.

D39317 made clang use .init_array when no gcc installations is found.
This change changes all gcc installations to use .init_array .
GCC 4.7 by default stopped providing .ctors/.dtors compatible crt files,
and stopped emitting .ctors for __attribute__((constructor)).
.init_array should always work.
FreeBSD rules are moved to FreeBSD.cpp to make Generic_ELF rules clean.

When parsing the code with OpenMP and the function's body must be
skipped, need to skip also OpenMP annotation tokens. Otherwise the
counters for braces/parens are unbalanced and parsing fails.

In looking into some other code, I came across this issue where a
float converted to a gcc integer vector via a splat causes it to miss
the float-to-integral cast, which causes some REALLY strange codegen
bugs.
The AST looked like:

Despite the type of the VectorSplat cast as printed, it ended up
becoming a vector of float, which caused non-matching instructions. For

This patch corrects the conversion so that the float is first converted
to an integral, THEN splatted.

Summary:
This fills in the remaining shift operations that take a single vector
input and an immediate shift count: the `vqshl`, `vqshlu`, `vrshr` and
`vshll[bt]` families.
`vshll[bt]` (which shifts each input lane left into a double-width
output lane) is the most interesting one. There are separate MC
instruction ids for shifting by exactly the input lane width and
shifting by less than that, because the instruction encoding is so
completely different for the lane-width special case. So I had to
write two sets of patterns to match based on the immediate shift
count, which involved adding a ComplexPattern matcher to avoid the
general-case pattern accidentally matching the special case too. For
that family I've made sure to add an llc codegen test for both
versions of each instruction.
I'm experimenting with a new strategy for parametrising the isel
patterns for all these instructions: adding extra fields to the
relevant `Instruction` subclass itself, which are ignored by the
Tablegen backends that generate the MC data, but can be retrieved from
each instance of that instruction subclass when it's passed as a
template parameter to the multiclass that generates its isel patterns.
A nice effect of that is that I can fill in those informational fields
using `let` blocks, rather than having to type them out once per
instruction at `defm` time.
(As a result, quite a lot of existing instruction `def`s are
reindented by this patch, so it's clearer to read with whitespace
changes ignored.)

Better use of multiclass is used, and this helped find some existing
bugs in the predicated VMULL* intrinsics, which are now fixed.
The refactored VMULL[TB]Q_(INT|POLY)_M() intrinsics were discovered
to have an argument ("inactive") with incorrect type, and this required
a fix that is included in this whole patch. The argument "inactive"
should have been the same width (per vector element) as the return
type of the intrinsic, but was not in the case where the return type
was double the element width of the input types.
To assist in testing the multiclassing , and to thwart further gremlins,
the unit tests are improved in scope.
The *.ll tests are all generated by a small bit of throw-away scripting
from the corresponding *.c tests, and as such the diffs are large and
nasty. Look at the file rather than the diff.

Summary:
This adds support for embedding bitcode in a binary during LTO. The libLTO gains supports the `-lto-embed-bitcode` flag. The option allows users of the LTO library to embed a bitcode section. For example, LLD can pass the option via `ld.lld -mllvm=-lto-embed-bitcode`.
This feature allows doing something comparable to `clang -c -fembed-bitcode`, but on the (LTO) linker level. Having bitcode alongside native code has many use-cases. To give an example, the MacOS linker can create a `-bitcode_bundle` section containing bitcode. Also, having this feature built into LLVM is an alternative to 3rd party tools such as [[ https://github.com/travitch/whole-program-llvm | wllvm ]] or [[ https://github.com/SRI-CSL/gllvm | gllvm ]]. As with these tools, this feature simplifies creating "whole-program" llvm bitcode files, but in contrast to wllvm/gllvm it does not rely on a specific llvm frontend/driver.

This warning is supposed to be suppressed when the
constructor/destructor are non-trivial, since it might be a RAII type.
However, if the type has a trivial destructor and the constructor hasn't
been resolved (since it is called with dependent arguments), we were
still warning.
This patch suppresses the warning if the type could possibly have a
be a non-trivial constructor call. Note that this does not take the
arity of the constructors into consideration, so it might suppress
the warning in cases where it isn't possible to call a non-trivial
constructor.
Very few ELF platforms still use .ctors/.dtors now. Linux (glibc: 1999-07),
DragonFlyBSD, FreeBSD (2012-03) and Solaris have supported .init_array
for many years. Some architectures like AArch64/RISC-V default to
.init_array . GNU ld and gold can even convert .ctors to .init_array .
It makes more sense to flip the CC1 default, and only uses
-fno-use-init-array on platforms that don't support .init_array .
For example, OpenBSD did not support DT_INIT_ARRAY before Aug 2016

Serialized remarks contain debug locations for each remark, by storing a
file path, a line, and a column.
Also, remarks support being embedded in a .dSYM bundle using a separate
section in object files, that is found by `dsymutil` through the debug
map.
In order for tools to map addresses to source and display remarks in the
source, we need line tables, and in order for `dsymutil` to find the
object files containing the remark section, we need to keep the debug
map around.

Some AST nodes which stands for implicit initialization is shared. The analyzer
will do the same evaluation on the same nodes resulting in the same state. The
analyzer will "cache out", i.e. it thinks that it visited an already existing
node in the exploded graph. This is not true in this case and we lose coverage.

we just omit them from the CFG.

The checker was trying to analyze the body of every method in Objective-C
@implementation clause but the sythesized accessor stubs that were introduced
into it by 2073dd2d have no bodies.
While analyzing code `memcmp(a, NULL, n);', where `a' has an unconstrained
symbolic value, the analyzer was emitting a warning about the *first* argument
being a null pointer, even though we'd rather have it warn about the *second*
argument.
This happens because CStringChecker first checks whether the two argument
buffers are in fact the same buffer, in order to take the fast path.
This boils down to assuming `a == NULL' to true. Then the subsequent check
for null pointer argument "discovers" that `a' is null.
Don't take the fast path unless we are *sure* that the buffers are the same.

Fixed capturing of the if condition if no modifer was specified in this
condition. Previously could capture it only in outer region and it could
lead to a compiler crash.
According to OpenMP 5.0, if clause can be used in for simd directive. If
condition in the if clause if false, the non-vectorized version of the
loop must be executed.
Sometimes the return value of a comparison operator call is
`UnkownVal`. Since no assumptions can be made on `UnknownVal`,
this leeds to keeping impossible execution paths in the
exploded graph resulting in poor performance and false
positives. To overcome this we replace unknown results of
iterator comparisons by conjured symbols.

Debugging the Iterator Modeling checker or any of the iterator checkers
is difficult without being able to see the relations between the
iterator variables and their abstract positions, as well as the abstract
symbols denoting the begin and the end of the container.
This patch adds the checker-specific part of the Program State printing
to the Iterator Modeling checker.

Summary:
Attribute annotations are recorded in a special global composite variable
that points to annotation strings and the annotated objects.
As a restriction of the LLVM IR type system, those pointers are all
pointers to address space 0, so let's insert an addrspacecast when the
annotated global is in a non-0 address space.
Since this addrspacecast is only reachable from the global annotations
object, this should allow us to represent annotations on all globals
regardless of which addrspacecasts are usually legal for the target.

due to a logic error. But with this fixed, we now imply vectorisation when:

be incorrectly setting it or duplicating the metadata, respectively.

This adds the family of `vshlq_n` and `vshrq_n` ACLE intrinsics, which
shift every lane of a vector left or right by a compile-time
immediate. They mostly work by expanding to the IR `shl`, `lshr` and
`ashr` operations, with their second operand being a vector splat of
the immediate.
There's a fiddly special case, though. ACLE specifies that the
immediate in `vshrq_n` can take values up to //and including// the bit
size of the vector lane. But LLVM IR thinks that shifting right by the
full size of the lane is UB, and feels free to replace the `lshr` with
an `undef` half way through the optimization pipeline. Hence, to keep
this legal in source code, I have to detect it at codegen time.
Logical (unsigned) right shifts by the element size are handled by
simply emitting the zero vector; arithmetic ones are converted into a
shift of one bit less, which will always give the same output.
In order to do that check, I also had to enhance the tablegen
MveEmitter so that it can cope with converting a builtin function's
operand into a bare integer to pass to a code-generating subfunction.
Previously the only bare integers it knew how to handle were flags
generated from within `arm_mve.td`.

The -fsplit-dwarf-inlining option does not conform to DWARF5 standard.
It creates children for Skeleton compilation unit. We need default behavior

We were accidentally treating invalid scope specs as being empty,
resulting in our trying to form an ADL-only call with a qualified
callee, which tripped up an assert later on.
It was a step in the right direction but it is not clear how can this
fit into the checker API at this point. The pre-escape happens in the
analyzer core and the checker has no control over it. If the checker
is not interestd in a pre-escape it would need to do additional work
on each escape to check if the escaped symbol is originated from an
"uninteresting" pre-escaped memory region. In order to keep the
checker API simple we abandoned this solution for now.
We will reland this once we have a better answer for what to do on the
checker side.

This patch refactors instruction selection of the complex vector
addition, multiplication and multiply-add intrinsics, so that it is
now based on TableGen patterns rather than C++ code.

Extern variable usage in BPF is different from traditional
pure user space application. Recent discussion in linux bpf
mailing list has two use cases where debug info types are
required to use extern variables:
- extern types are required to have a suitable interface
in libbpf (bpf loader) to provide kernel config parameters
to bpf programs.

This patch added clang support to emit debuginfo for extern variables
with a TargetInfo hook to enable it. The debuginfo for the
extern variable is emitted only if that extern variable is
referenced in the current compilation unit.
Currently, only BPF target enables to generate debug info for
extern variables. The emission of such debuginfo is disabled for C++
at this moment since BPF only supports a subset of C language.
Emission with C++ can be enabled later if an appropriate use case
is identified.
-fstandalone-debug permits us to see more debuginfo with the cost
of bloated binary size. This patch did not add emission of extern
variable debug info with -fstandalone-debug. This can be
re-evaluated if there is a real need.

This adds a check for the usage of -foptimization-record-file with
multiple -arch options. This is not permitted since it would require us
to rename the file requested by the user to avoid overwriting it for the
second cc1 invocation.

We need to perform unqualified lookups from the context of a defaulted
comparison, but not until we implicitly define the function, at which
point we can't do those lookups any more. So perform the lookup from the
end of the class containing the =default declaration and store the
lookup results on the defaulted function until we synthesize the body.
In the presence of modules, we can have multiple lookup results for the
same entity, and we need to re-check for completeness each time we
consider a type.
This patch allows for -o to be used with -c when compiling with clang
interface stubs enabled. This is because the second file will be an
intermediate ifs stubs file that is the text stub analog of the .o file.
Both get produces in this case, so two files.
Why are we doing this? Because we want to support the case where
interface stubs are used bu first invoking clang like so:
clang -c <other flags> -emit-interface-stubs foo.c -o foo.o
...
clang -emit-interface-stubs <.o files> -o libfoo.so
This should generate N .ifs files, and one .ifso file. Prior to this
patch, using -o with the -c invocation was not possible. Currently the
clang driver supports generating a a.out/.so file at the same time as a
merged ifs file / ifso file, but this is done by checking that the final
job is the IfsMerge job. When -c is used, the final job is a Compile job
so what this patch does is check to figure out of the job type is
TY_IFS_CPP.

The AST for the constexpr.cl test contains address space conversion
nodes to cast through the implicit generic address space. These
caused the evaluator to reject the input as constexpr in C++ for
OpenCL mode, whereas the input was considered constexpr in plain C++
mode as the AST won't have address space cast nodes then.

A trivially copyable type provides a trivial copy constructor and a trivial
copy assignment operator. This is enough for the runtime to memcpy the data
to the device. Additionally there must be no virtual functions or virtual
base classes and the destructor is guaranteed to be trivial, ie performs
no action.
The runtime does not require trivial default constructors because on alloc
the memory is undefined. Thus, weaken the warning to be only issued if the
mapped type is not trivially copyable.

The validateOutputSize and validateInputSize need to check whether
AVX or AVX512 are enabled. But this can be affected by the
target attribute so we need to factor that in.
This patch copies some of the code from CodeGen to create an
appropriate feature map that we can pass to the function. Probably
need some refactoring here to share more code with Codegen. Is
there a good place to do that? Also need to support the cpu_specific
attribute as well.

This commit sets the Self and Imp declarations for ObjC method declarations,
in addition to the definitions. It also fixes
a bunch of code in clang that had wrong assumptions about when getSelfDecl() would be set:
- CGDebugInfo::getObjCMethodName and AnalysisConsumer::getFunctionName would assume that it was
set for method declarations part of a protocol, which they never were,
and that self would be a Class type, which it isn't as it is id for a protocol.
Also use the Canonical Decl to index the set of Direct methods so that
when calls and implementations interleave, the same llvm::Function is
used and the same symbol name emitted.

When implementation of the block runtime is available, we should not
warn that block layout fields are uninitialized simply because they're
on the stack.

On ARM platforms, the compiler generates an additional line containing `-CXXRecordDecl which is not the intended line, but preceeds the intended match causing the test to fail.

The HIP toolchain invokes `llc` without an explicit opt-level, meaning
it always uses the default (-O2). This makes it impossible to use -O1,
for example. The HIP toolchain also coerces -Os/-Oz to -O2 even when
invoking opt, and it coerces -Og to -O2 rather than -O1.
Forward the opt-level to `llc` as well as `opt`, and only coerce levels
where it is required.

Many of the inputs to clang driver toolchain tools can be things other

such tool pass-through type arguments (although having an -Xifs would be nice to

we are not doing any sort of argument pass-through, I am going to have

If the lambda used 'this' without without capturing it, an error was
emitted, but the constant evaluator would still attempt to lookup the
capture, and failing to find it, dereference a null pointer.
This only happens in C++17 (as that's when lambdas were made
potentially-constexpr). Therefore, I also updated the
lambda-expressions.cpp test to run in both C++14 and C++17 modes.
Revise the coverage mapping format to reduce binary size by:
1. Naming function records and marking them `linkonce_odr`, and
2. Compressing filenames.
This shrinks the size of llc's coverage segment by 82% (334MB -> 62MB)
and speeds up end-to-end single-threaded report generation by 10%. For
reference the compressed name data in llc is 81MB (__llvm_prf_names).
Rationale for changes to the format:
- With the current format, most coverage function records are discarded.
E.g., more than 97% of the records in llc are *duplicate* placeholders
for functions visible-but-not-used in TUs. Placeholders *are* used to
show under-covered functions, but duplicate placeholders waste space.
- We reached general consensus about giving (1) a try at the 2017 code
coverage BoF [1]. The thinking was that using `linkonce_odr` to merge
duplicates is simpler than alternatives like teaching build systems
about a coverage-aware database/module/etc on the side.
- Revising the format is expensive due to the backwards compatibility
requirement, so we might as well compress filenames while we're at it.
This shrinks the encoded filenames in llc by 86% (12MB -> 1.6MB).

changed.

The addr space qualifier can be added optionally for lambdas after
the attributes. They will alter the default addr space of lambda
call operator that is in generic address space by default for OpenCL.
Syntax:

On the call into lambda a compatibility check will be performed to
determine whether address space of lambda object and its call operator

Jenkins sometimes starts a new working directory by appending @2 (or
incrementing the number if the @n suffix is already there). This causes
several clang tests to fail as:
s@INPUT_DIR@%/S/Inputs@g
gets expanded to the invalid:
s@INPUT_DIR@/path/to/workdir@2/Inputs@g
~~~~~~~~~~
where the part marked with ~'s is interpreted as the flags. These are
invalid and the test fails.
Previous fixes simply exchanged the @ character for another like | but
that's just moving the problem. Address it by adding an expansion that
escapes the @ character we're using as a delimiter as well as other magic
characters in the replacement of sed's s@@@.
There's still room for expansions to cause trouble though. One I ran into
while testing this was that having a directory called foo@bar causes lots
of `CHECK-NOT: foo` directives to match. There's also things like
directories containing `\1`
This patch reapplies commit 759948467e. Patch was reverted due to a
clang-tidy test fail on Windows. The test has been modified. There
are no additional code changes.
Patch was tested with ninja check-all on Windows and Linux.
Summary of code changes:
Clang currently crashes for switch statements inside a template when the
condition is a non-integer field member because contextual implicit
conversion is skipped when parsing the condition. This conversion is
however later checked in an assert when the case statement is handled.
The conversion is skipped when parsing the condition because
the field member is set as type-dependent based on its containing class.
This patch sets the type dependency based on the field's type instead.
This patch fixes Bug 40982.

Emit a gap region beginning where the switch body begins. This sets line
execution counts in the areas between non-overlapping cases to 0.
This also removes some special handling of the first case in a switch:
these are now treated like any other case.
This does not resolve an outstanding issue with case statement regions
that do not end when a region is terminated. But it should address
llvm.org/PR44011.

Currently, when dumping the AST to JSON, the presumed file is what is included
when dumping a source location. This patch changes the behavior to instead dump
the actual file, and only dump a presumed file name when it differs from the
actual file.
This also corrects an issue with the test script generator that would prevent
it from working on Windows due to file permissions issues.
SYCL is single source offload programming model relying on compiler to
separate device code (i.e. offloaded to an accelerator) from the code
executed on the host.
Here is code example of the SYCL program to demonstrate compiler
outlining work:

SYCL device compiler must compile lambda expression passed to
cl::sycl::handler::parallel_for method and function foo called from this
lambda expression for an "accelerator". SYCL device compiler also must
ignore bar function as it's not required for offloaded code execution.
This patch adds the sycl_kernel attribute, which is used to mark code
passed to cl::sycl::handler::parallel_for as "accelerated code".
Attribute must be applied to function templates which parameters include
at least "kernel name" and "kernel function object". These parameters
will be used to establish an ABI between the host application and
offloaded part.

Since lambdas are represented by callable objects, we add
generic addr space for implicit object parameter in call
operator.
Any lambda variable declared in __constant addr space
(which is not convertible to generic) fails to compile with
a diagnostic. To support constant addr space we need to
add a way to qualify the lambda call operators.

This was hard-coded to "clang". This change allows it to to be used on
processes other than clang (such as lld).
This gets reported as clang-10 on Linux and clang.exe on Windows so
adapted test to accommodate this.

This patch makes the minimizer more conservative to avoid missing dependency files that are brought in by __has_include
PP expressions that occur in a condition of an #if/#elif that was previously skipped. The __has_include PP expressions
can be used in an #if/#elif either directly, or through macro expansion, so we can't detect them at the time of minimization.

Summary:
clang test Driver/darwin-opt-record.c assumes the default target is
x86_64 by its uses of the -arch x86_64 and -arch x86_64h and thus fail
on systems where it is not the case. Adding a target
x86_64-apple-darwin10 reveals another problem: the driver refuses 2
-arch for an assembly output so this commit also changes the output to
be an object file.

The test is complaining on some of the builders. This attempts to
adjust the run line to be more line the others in the same folder, using
clang_cc1 as opposed to the driver.
