This change adds a new type node, DeducedTemplateSpecializationType, to
represent a type template name that has been used as a type. This is modeled
around AutoType, and shares a common base class for representing a deduced
placeholder type.
We allow deduced class template types in a few more places than the standard
does: in conditions and for-range-declarators, and in new-type-ids. This is
consistent with GCC and with discussion on the core reflector. This patch
does not yet support deduced class template types being named in typename
specifiers.
llvm-svn: 293207
Under this defect resolution, the injected-class-name of a class or class
template cannot be used except in very limited circumstances (when declaring a
constructor, in a nested-name-specifier, in a base-specifier, or in an
elaborated-type-specifier). This is apparently done to make parsing easier, but
it's a pain for us since we don't know whether a template-id using the
injected-class-name is valid at the point when we annotate it (we don't yet
know whether the template-id will become part of an elaborated-type-specifier).
As a tentative resolution to a perceived language defect, mem-initializer-ids
are added to the list of exceptions here (they generally follow the same rules
as base-specifiers).
When the reference to the injected-class-name uses the 'typename' or 'template'
keywords, we permit it to be used to name a type or template as an extension;
other compilers also accept some cases in this area. There are also a couple of
corner cases with dependent template names that we do not yet diagnose, but
which will also get this treatment.

Although not specifically mentioned in the documentation, MSVC accepts
__uuidof(…) and declspec(uuid("…")) attributes on enumeration types in
addition to structs/classes. This is meaningful, as such types *do* have
associated UUIDs in ActiveX typelibs, and such attributes are included
by default in the wrappers generated by their #import construct, so they
are not particularly unusual.
clang currently rejects the declspec with a –Wignored-attributes
warning, and errors on __uuidof() with “cannot call operator __uuidof on
a type with no GUID” (because it rejected the uuid attribute, and
therefore finds no value). This is causing problems for us while trying
to use clang-tidy on a codebase that makes heavy use of ActiveX.
I believe I have found the relevant places to add this functionality,
this patch adds this case to clang’s implementation of these MS
extensions. patch is against r285994 (or actually the git mirror

The code pattern used to implement the token rewriting hack doesn't
interact well with token caching in the pre-processor. As a result,
clang would crash on 'int f(::(id));' while doing a tenative parse of
the contents of the outer parentheses. The original code from PR11852
still doesn't crash the compiler.
This error recovery also often does the wrong thing with member function
pointers. The test case from the original PR doesn't recover the right
way either:
void S::(*pf)() = S::f; // should be 'void (S::*pf)()'
Instead we were recovering as 'void S::*pf()', which is still wrong.
If we still think that users mistakenly parenthesize identifiers in
nested name specifiers, we should change clang to intentionally parse
that form with an error, rather than doing a token rewrite.
Fixes PR26623, but I think there will be many more bugs like this around
token rewriting in the parser.

Since array parameters decay to pointers, '_Nullable' and friends
should be available for use there as well. This is especially
important for parameters that are typedefs of arrays. The unsugared
syntax for this follows the syntax for 'static'-sized arrays in C:
void test(int values[_Nullable]);
This syntax was previously accepted but the '_Nullable' (and any other
attributes) were silently discarded. However, applying '_Nullable' to
a typedef was previously rejected and is now accepted; therefore, it
may be necessary to test for the presence of this feature:
#if __has_feature(nullability_on_arrays)
One important change here is that DecayedTypes don't always
immediately contain PointerTypes anymore; they may contain an
AttributedType instead. This only affected one place in-tree, so I
would guess it's not likely to cause problems elsewhere.
This commit does not change -Wnullability-completeness just yet. I
want to think about whether it's worth doing something special to
avoid breaking existing clients that compile with -Werror. It also
doesn't change '#pragma clang assume_nonnull' behavior, which
currently treats the following two declarations as equivalent:
#pragma clang assume_nonnull begin
void test(void *pointers[]);
#pragma clang assume_nonnull end
void test(void * _Nonnull pointers[]);
This is not the desired behavior, but changing it would break
backwards-compatibility. Most likely the best answer is going to be
adding a new warning.

Previously we had to split out a lot of our tests into a test that
checked only immediate errors and a test that checked only deferred

We've fixed this, and now emit deferred errors during sema. This lets

Summary:
Emitting deferred diagnostics during codegen was a hack. It did work,
but usability was poor, both for us as compiler devs and for users. We
don't codegen if there are any sema errors, so for users this meant that
they wouldn't see deferred errors if there were any non-deferred errors.
For devs, this meant that we had to carefully split up our tests so that
when we tested deferred errors, we didn't emit any non-deferred errors.
This change moves checking for deferred errors into Sema. See the big
comment in SemaCUDA.cpp for an overview of the idea.
This checking adds overhead to compilation, because we have to maintain
a partial call graph. As a result, this change makes deferred errors a
CUDA-only concept (whereas before they were a general concept). If
anyone else wants to use this framework for something other than CUDA,
we can generalize at that time.
This patch makes the minimal set of test changes -- after this lands,
I'll go back through and do a cleanup of the tests that we no longer
have to split up.

This patch adds the "__final" keyword for compatibility with GCC in GCC Keywords mode (so it is enabled with existing flags), and issues a warning on its usage (suggesting switching to the C++11 keyword). This patch also adds a regression test for the functionality described. I believe this patch has minimal impact, as it simply adds a new keyword for existing behavior.

No semantic analysis yet.
This is a pain to disambiguate correctly, because the parsing rules for the
declaration form of a condition and of an init-statement are quite different --
for a token sequence that looks like a declaration, we frequently need to
disambiguate all the way to the ')' or ';'.
We could do better here in some cases by stopping disambiguation once we've
decided whether we've got an expression or not (rather than keeping going until
we know whether it's an init-statement declaration or a condition declaration),
by unifying our parsing code for the two types of declaration and moving the
syntactic checks into Sema; if this has a measurable impact on parsing
performance, I'll look into that.

Summary:
This is similar to other loop pragmas like 'vectorize'. Currently it
only has state values: distribute(enable) and distribute(disable). When
one of these is specified the corresponding loop metadata is generated:
!{!"llvm.loop.distribute.enable", i1 true/false}
As a result, loop distribution will be attempted on the loop even if
Loop Distribution in not enabled globally. Analogously, with 'disable'
distribution can be turned off for an individual loop even when the pass
is otherwise enabled.
There are some slight differences compared to the existing loop pragmas.
1. There is no 'assume_safety' variant which makes its handling slightly
different from 'vectorize'/'interleave'.
2. Unlike the existing loop pragmas, it does not have a corresponding
numeric pragma like 'vectorize' -> 'vectorize_width'. So for the
consistency checks in CheckForIncompatibleAttributes we don't need to
check it against other pragmas. We just need to check for duplicates of
the same pragma.

- teach ParseLambdaExpressionAfterIntroducer to expect a constexpr specifier and mark the invented function call operator's declarator's decl-specifier with it; Have it emit fixits for multiple decl-specifiers (mutable or constexpr) in this location.
- for cases where constexpr is not explicitly specified, have buildLambdaExpr check whether the invented function call operator satisfies the requirements of a constexpr function, by calling CheckConstexprFunctionDecl/Body.

Until now curly braces could only be used in MS inline assembly to mark block start/end.
All curly braces were removed completely at a very early stage.
This approach caused bugs like:
"m{o}v eax, ebx" turned into "mov eax, ebx" without any error.
In addition, AVX-512 added special operands (e.g., k registers), which are also surrounded by curly braces that mark them as such.
Now, we need to keep the curly braces and identify at a later stage if they are marking block start/end (if so, ignore them), or surrounding special AVX-512 operands (if so, parse them as such).
This patch fixes the bug described above and enables the use of AVX-512 special operands.

This change is not entirely trivial, because for lambda init-captures we
previously did not track the difference between direct-list-initialization and

- Allow static local and global variables (OpenCL2.0 s6.8 and s6.5.1).
- Improve diagnostics of allowed ASes for variables in different scopes:
(i) Global or static local variables have to be in global
or constant ASes (OpenCL1.2 s6.5, OpenCL2.0 s6.5.1);
(ii) Non-kernel function variables can't be declared in local
or constant ASes (OpenCL1.1 s6.5.2 and s6.5.3).

Applied restrictions from OpenCL v2.0 s6.13.11.8
that mainly disallow operations on atomic types (except for taking their address - &).
The patch is taken from SPIR2.0 provisional branch, contributed by Guy Benyei!

Summary:
MSDN says that fastcall, stdcall, thiscall, and vectorcall are all
accepted but ignored on ARM and X64.
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/984x0h58.aspx
MSDN also says cdecl is also accepted and typically ignored
This patch brings ARM in line with how we ignore them for X64

This change adds the new unroll metadata "llvm.loop.unroll.enable" which directs
the optimizer to unroll a loop fully if the trip count is known at compile time, and
unroll partially if the trip count is not known at compile time. This differs from
"llvm.loop.unroll.full" which explicitly does not unroll a loop if the trip count is not
known at compile time
With this change "#pragma unroll" generates "llvm.loop.unroll.enable" rather than
"llvm.loop.unroll.full" metadata. This changes the semantics of "#pragma unroll" slightly
to mean "unroll aggressively (fully or partially)" rather than "unroll fully or not at all".
The motivating example for this change was some internal code with a loop marked
with "#pragma unroll" which only sometimes had a compile-time trip count depending
on template magic. When the trip count was a compile-time constant, everything works
as expected and the loop is fully unrolled. However, when the trip count was not a
compile-time constant the "#pragma unroll" explicitly disabled unrolling of the loop(!).
Removing "#pragma unroll" caused the loop to be unrolled partially which was desirable
from a performance perspective.

Clang used to silently ignore __declspec(novtable). It is implemented
now, but leaving the vtable uninitialized does not work when using the
Itanium ABI, where the class layout for complex class hierarchies is
stored in the vtable. It might be possible to honor the novtable
attribute in some simple cases and either report an error or ignore
it in more complex situations, but it’s not clear if that would be
worthwhile. There is also value in having a simple and predictable
behavior, so this changes clang to simply ignore novtable when not using
the Microsoft C++ ABI.

This reverts commit r239846 and r239879. They caused clang's

Teach C++'s tentative parsing to handle specializations of Objective-C
class types (e.g., NSArray<NSString *>) as well as Objective-C
protocol qualifiers (id<NSCopying>) by extending type-annotation
tokens to handle this case. As part of this, remove Objective-C
protocol qualifiers from the declaration specifiers, which never
really made sense: instead, provide Sema entry points to make them
part of the type annotation token. Among other things, this properly
diagnoses bogus types such as "<NSCopying> id" which should have been
written as "id <NSCopying>".
Implements template instantiation support for, e.g., NSArray<T>*
in C++. Note that parameterized classes are not templates in the C++
sense, so that cannot (for example) be used as a template argument for
a template template parameter. Part of rdar://problem/6294649.
llvm-svn: 241545
Objective-C type arguments can be provided in angle brackets following
an Objective-C interface type. Syntactically, this is the same
position as one would provide protocol qualifiers (e.g.,
id<NSCopying>), so parse both together and let Sema sort out the
ambiguous cases. This applies both when parsing types and when parsing
the superclass of an Objective-C class, which can now be a specialized
type (e.g., NSMutableArray<T> inherits from NSArray<T>).
Check Objective-C type arguments against the type parameters of the
corresponding class. Verify the length of the type argument list and
that each type argument satisfies the corresponding bound.
Specializations of parameterized Objective-C classes are represented
in the type system as distinct types. Both specialized types (e.g.,
NSArray<NSString *> *) and unspecialized types (NSArray *) are
represented, separately.
llvm-svn: 241542
Produce type parameter declarations for Objective-C type parameters,
and attach lists of type parameters to Objective-C classes,
categories, forward declarations, and extensions as
appropriate. Perform semantic analysis of type bounds for type
parameters, both in isolation and across classes/categories/extensions
to ensure consistency.
Also handle (de-)serialization of Objective-C type parameter lists,
along with sundry other things one must do to add a new declaration to
Clang.
Note that Objective-C type parameters are typedef name declarations,
like typedefs and C++11 type aliases, in support of type erasure.

Addresses a conflict with glibc's __nonnull macro by renaming the type
nullability qualifiers as follows:
__nonnull -> _Nonnull
__nullable -> _Nullable
__null_unspecified -> _Null_unspecified
This is the major part of rdar://problem/21530726, but does not yet
provide the Darwin-specific behavior for the old names.
llvm-svn: 240596
Introduces the type specifiers __nonnull, __nullable, and
__null_unspecified that describe the nullability of the pointer type
to which the specifier appertains. Nullability type specifiers improve
on the existing nonnull attributes in a few ways:
- They apply to types, so one can represent a pointer to a non-null
pointer, use them in function pointer types, etc.
- As type specifiers, they are syntactically more lightweight than
__attribute__s or [[attribute]]s.
- They can express both the notion of 'should never be null' and
also 'it makes sense for this to be null', and therefore can more
easily catch errors of omission where one forgot to annotate the
nullability of a particular pointer (this will come in a subsequent
patch).
Nullability type specifiers are maintained as type sugar, and
therefore have no effect on mangling, encoding, overloading,
etc. Nonetheless, they will be used for warnings about, e.g., passing
'null' to a method that does not accept it.
This is the C/C++ part of rdar://problem/18868820.

MS attributes do not permit empty attribute blocks. Correctly diagnose those.
We continue to parse to ensure that we recover correctly. Because the block is
empty, we do not need to skip any tokens.

Switch to using BalancedDelimiterTracker to get better diagnostics for

Specifying #pragma clang loop vectorize(assume_safety) on a loop adds the

Previously, if a semi-colon is unexpectedly added before a closing ')', ']' or
'}', two errors and one note would emitted, and the parsing would get confused
to which scope it was in. This change consumes the semi-colon, recovers
parsing better, and emits only one error with a fix-it.

Empty assembly string will not introduce assembly code in the output
binary and it is often used as a trick in the header to disable
optimizations. It doesn't conflict with the purpose of the option so it
is allowed with -fno-gnu-inline-asm flag.
llvm-svn: 237073
Summary:
AsmLabel is heavily used in system level and firmware to redirect
function and access platform specific labels. They are also extensively
used in system headers which makes this option unusable for many
users. Since AsmLabel doesn't introduce any assembly code into the
output binary, it shouldn't be considered as inline-asm.

In ObjC++ modes, we tentatively parse the lambda introducer twice: once
to disambiguate designators, which we also do in C++, and a second time
to disambiguate objc message expressions. During the second tentative
parse, the last cached token will be the annotation token we built in
the first parse. So use getLastLoc() to get the correct end location
