Eric Christopher df02b36a2c Change location information for synthesized properties to be at the
property file/line rather than the @synthesize file/line. Avoids
some nasty confusing-ness with conflating the file from the scope
and the line from the original declaration.

Update a couple of testcases accordingly since I had to change
that we actually use the passed in location in EmitFunctionStart.

Bill Wendling 82b87f19e2 The UTF16 string referenced by a CFString should go into the __TEXT,__ustring
section. A 'normal' string will go into the __TEXT,__const section, but this
isn't good for UTF16 strings. The __ustring section allows for coalescing, among
other niceties (such as allowing the linker to easily split up strings).

Instead of outputting the UTF16 string as a series of bytes, output it as a
series of shorts. The back-end will then nicely place the UTF16 string into the
correct section, because it's a mensch.

Argyrios Kyrtzidis ab468b0381 Add info to ObjCPropertyRefExpr to indicate whether the dot syntax property
reference is going to message the setter, the getter, or both.

Having this info on the ObjCPropertyRefExpr node makes it easier for AST
clients (like libclang) to reason about the meaning of the property reference.

[AST/Sema]
-Use 2 bits (with a PointerIntPair) in ObjCPropertyRefExpr to record the above info
-Have ObjCPropertyOpBuilder set the info appropriately.

[libclang]
-When there is an implicit property reference (property syntax using methods)
have clang_getCursorReferenced return a cursor for the method. If the property
reference is going to result in messaging both the getter and the setter choose
to return a cursor for the setter because it is less obvious from source inspection
that the setter is getting called.

The general idea has the seal of approval by John.

diagnose these qualification errors for all kinds of declarations; it
was rather uneven before. Fixes <rdar://problem/11135644>.

Chandler Carruth 8b4140d712 Move the emission of strict enum range metadata behind a flag (the same
flag as GCC uses: -fstrict-enums). There is a *lot* of code making
unwarranted assumptions about the underlying type of enums, and it
doesn't seem entirely reasonable to eagerly break all of it.

Much more importantly, the current state of affairs is *very* good at
optimizing based upon this information, which causes failures that are
very distant from the actual enum. Before we push for enabling this by
default, I think we need to implement -fcatch-undefined-behavior support
for instrumenting and trapping whenever we store or load a value outside
of the range. That way we can track down the misbehaving code very
quickly.

I discussed this with Rafael, and currently the only important cases he
is aware of are the bool range-based optimizations which are staying
hard enabled. We've not seen any issue with those either, and they are
much more important for performance.

Anna Zaks 5b3939fae6 [analyzer] Add an option to re-analyze a dead-end path without inlining.
The analyzer gives up path exploration under certain conditions. For
example, when the same basic block has been visited more than 4 times.
With inlining turned on, this could lead to decrease in code coverage.
Specifically, if we give up inside the inlined function, the rest of
parent's basic blocks will not get analyzed.

This commit introduces an option to enable re-run along the failed path,
in which we do not inline the last inlined call site. This is done by
enqueueing the node before the processing of the inlined call site
with a special policy encoded in the state. The policy tells us not to
inline the call site along the path.

This lead to ~10% increase in the number of paths analyzed. Even though
we expected a much greater coverage improvement.

The option is turned off by default for now.

Ted Kremenek e9a5bcf17e Change RetainCountChecker to eagerly "escape" retained objects when they are
assigned to a struct. This is fallout from inlining results, which expose
far more patterns where people stuff CF objects into structs and pass them
around (and we can reason about it). The problem is that we don't have
a general way to detect when values have escaped, so as an intermediate step
we need to eagerly prune out such tracking.

Richard Smith efd009de1c When we see 'Class(X' or 'Class::Class(X' and we suspect that it names a
constructor, but X is not a known typename, check whether the tokens could
possibly match the syntax of a declarator before concluding that it isn't
a constructor. If it's definitely ill-formed, assume it is a constructor.

Empirical evidence suggests that this pattern is much more often a
constructor with a typoed (or not-yet-declared) type name than any of the
other possibilities, so the extra cost of the check is not expected to be
problematic.

Richard Smith 169f219001 Add a special-case diagnostic for one of the more obnoxious special cases of
unscoped enumeration members: an enumerator name which is visible in the
out-of-class definition of a member of a templated class might not actually
exist in the instantiation of that class, if the enumeration is also lexically
defined outside the class definition and is explicitly specialized.

Depending on the result of a CWG discussion, we may have a different resolution
for a class of problems in this area, but this fixes the immediate issue of a
crash-on-invalid / accepts-invalid (depending on +Asserts). Thanks to Johannes
Schaub for digging into the standard wording to find how this case is currently
specified to behave.

block will no longer appear in opt builds. There was no reason to expect
the label to always be present anyways, much to my regret.

I've changed the test to just ensure that we return an immediate
constant. If there are intervening instructions, that's bad, but not
really that relevant to the test.

I'd love it if others have a better way of checking that a function body
contains only a 'ret' instruction that isn't dependent on whether or not
the entry block receives a label...

John McCall b6c4a7ef21 For the annals of subtle but terrible bugs: fix a longstanding bug
in vtable layout where virtual methods inherited from virtual bases
could be assigned the same vcall adjustment slot if they shared
a name and parameter signature but differed in their
cv-qualification. The code was already trying to handle this
case, but unfortunately used the ordinary type qualifiers
(which are always empty here) instead of the method qualifiers.
This seems like something that the API should discourage, but
I don't know how to carry that principle out in this instance.

Eliminate this function's need for an ASTContext while we're at it.

This bug affects the ABI, and fixing it brings us into accord with

technically breaks full compatibility with previous releases of Clang.

This is accomplished by calling markInteresting /during/ path diagnostic generation, and as such relies on deterministic ordering of BugReporterVisitors -- namely, that BugReporterVisitors are run in /reverse/ order from how they are added. (Right now that's a consequence of storing visitors in an ImmutableList, where new items are added to the front.) It's a little hacky, but it works for now.

I think this is the best we can do without storing the relation between the old and new symbols, and that would be a hit whether or not there ends up being an error.

Instead of suggesting " = 0" for "char c();", suggest " = '\0'", and similarly

this means testing such hints under C++0x, add tests for some untested C++0x
hint cases in the existing code, including suggesting nullptr for pointer
initialization.

This sets up the initialization helper to provide better type fidelity that
will be especially helpful for non-assignment cases (such as fixit-correcting

of the less informative foo(0)))

For "int i = NULL;" we would produce:

null.cpp:5:11: warning: implicit conversion of NULL constant to integer [-Wconversion]
  int i = NULL;
      ~ ^~~~
null.cpp:1:14: note: expanded from macro 'NULL'
\#define NULL __null
              ^~~~~~

But we really shouldn't trace that macro expansion back into the header, yet we
still want macro back traces for code like this:

\#define FOO NULL
int i = FOO;

or

\#define FOO int i = NULL;
FOO

While providing appropriate tagging at different levels of the expansion, etc.

The included test case exercises these cases & does some basic validation (to
ensure we don't have macro expansion notes where we shouldn't, and do where we
should) - but doesn't go as far as to validate the source location/ranges
used in those notes and warnings.

David Blaikie 1ce8dbb93f Provide -Wnull-conversion separately from -Wconversion.
Like GCC, provide a NULL conversion to non-pointer conversion as a separate

cross compatibility, but in the interests of consistency (with
-Wint-conversion, -Wbool-conversion, etc) the canonical Clang flag is called
-Wnull-conversion.

Also fix a faulty test exposed by this change.
It wasn't actually testing anything, and was giving this warning:

Which -Werror didn't turn into an error because it was output
by the driver, not the cc1 process, and diagnostic options
weren't parsed by the driver. And you couldn't see the warning
when running the test suite.

Richard Smith 05afe5e084 Fix PR10447: lazily building name lookup tables for DeclContexts was broken.
The deferred lookup table building step couldn't accurately tell which Decls
should be included in the lookup table, and consequently built different tables
in some cases.

Fix this by removing lazy building of DeclContext name lookup tables. In
practice, the laziness was frequently not worthwhile in C++, because we
performed lookup into most DeclContexts. In C, it had a bit more value,
since there is no qualified lookup.

In the place of lazy lookup table building, we simply don't build lookup tables
for function DeclContexts at all. Such name lookup tables are not useful, since
they don't capture the scoping information required to correctly perform name
lookup in a function scope.

The resulting performance delta is within the noise on my testing, but appears
to be a very slight win for C++ and a very slight loss for C. The C performance
can probably be recovered (if it is a measurable problem) by avoiding building
the lookup table for the translation unit.

Currently LLVM codegen is really bad in some cases with byval, for example, on

  struct s47 { unsigned a; };
  void f47(int,int,int,int,int,int,struct s47);
  void test47(int a, struct s47 b) { f47(a, a, a, a, a, a, b); }

we used to emit code like this::

  ...
  movl	%esi, -8(%rbp)
  movl	-8(%rbp), %ecx
  movl	%ecx, (%rsp)

to handle moving the struct onto the stack, which is just appalling.

Richard Smith 0df56f4a90 Implement C++11 [lex.ext]p10 for string and character literals: a ud-suffix not
starting with an underscore is ill-formed.

Since this rule rejects programs that were using <inttypes.h>'s macros, recover
from this error by treating the ud-suffix as a separate preprocessing-token,
with a DefaultError ExtWarn. The approach of treating such cases as two tokens
is under discussion for standardization, but is in any case a conforming
extension and allows existing codebases to keep building while the committee
makes up its mind.

Reword the warning on the definition of literal operators not starting with
underscores (which are, strangely, legal) to more explicitly state that such
operators can't be called by literals. Remove the special-case diagnostic for
hexfloats, since it was both triggering in the wrong cases and incorrect.

Anna Zaks c000e7ed3d Add a basic CallGraph to Analysis.
The final graph contains a single root node, which is a parent of all externally available functions(and 'main'). As well as a list of Parentless/Unreachable functions, which are either truly unreachable or are unreachable due to our analyses imprecision.

The analyzer checkers debug.DumpCallGraph or debug.ViewGraph can be used to look at the produced graph.

Currently, the graph is not very precise, for example, it entirely skips edges resulted from ObjC method calls.

Argyrios Kyrtzidis bfb2425c71 [libclang] Enhance clang_getOverriddenCursors.
Basically the current design is:
-for an implementation method, show as overridden the interface method.
This is not useful, and is inconsistent with the C++ side
-for an interface method, show as overridden the protocols methods (this is desirable)
and the methods from the categories; methods from categories are not useful
since they are considered the same method (same USR).
-If there is a protocol method or category method reported, it does not check the
super class for overridden methods. This is really problematic since
overridden methods from super class is what we want to give back.

Change clang_getOverriddenCursors to show as overridden any method in the class's
base class, its protocols, or its categories' protocols, that has the same
selector and is of the same kind (class or instance).
If no such method exists, the search continues to the class's superclass,
its protocols, and its categories, and so on. A method from an Objective-C
implementation is considered to override the same methods as its
corresponding method in the interface.

Richard Smith c67fdd4eb9 AST representation for user-defined literals, plus just enough of semantic
analysis to make the AST representation testable. They are represented by a
new UserDefinedLiteral AST node, which is a sugared CallExpr. All semantic
properties, including full CodeGen support, are achieved for free by this
representation.

UserDefinedLiterals can never be dependent, so no custom instantiation
behavior is required. They are mangled as if they were direct calls to the
underlying literal operator. This matches g++'s apparent behavior (but not its
actual mangling, which is broken for literal-operator-ids).

User-defined *string* literals are now fully-operational, but the semantic
analysis is quite hacky and needs more work. No other forms of user-defined
literal are created yet, but the AST support for them is present.

This patch committed after midnight because we had already hit the quota for
new kinds of literal yesterday.
