Nemanja Ivanovic 781b78a361 [PowerPC] Only legalize FNEARBYINT with unsafe fp math
Commit 0f0330a787 legalized these nodes on PPC without consideration of
unsafe math which means that we get inexact exceptions raised for nearbyint.
Since this doesn't conform to the standard, switch this legalization to depend
on unsafe fp math.

Saleem Abdulrasool abb0075306 build: reduce CMake handling for zlib
Rather than handling zlib handling manually, use `find_package` from CMake
to find zlib properly. Use this to normalize the `LLVM_ENABLE_ZLIB`,
`HAVE_ZLIB`, `HAVE_ZLIB_H`. Furthermore, require zlib if `LLVM_ENABLE_ZLIB` is
set to `YES`, which requires the distributor to explicitly select whether
zlib is enabled or not. This simplifies the CMake handling and usage in
the rest of the tooling.

This restores 68a235d07f,
e6c7ed6d21.  The problem with the windows
bot is a need for clearing the cache.

Craig Topper aa17d31edb [X86] Remove FP0-6 operands from call instructions in FPStackifier pass. Only count defs as returns.
All FP0-6 operands should be removed by the FP stackifier. By
removing these we fix the machine verifier error in PR39437.

I've also made it so that only defs are counted for STReturns
which removes what I think were extra stack cleanup instructions.

And I've removed the regcall assert because it was checking the
attributes of the caller, but here we're concerned with the
attributes of the callee. But I don't know how to get that
information from this level.

Alex Richardson 546c72a78b [llvm-ranlib] Update expected error message check for Windows
On Windows hosts, the error message will be something like
`c:\src\llvm-project\out\gn\bin\llvm-ranlib.exe: error: Invalid option: '--D'`.
Due to the .exe after llvm-ranlib the existing CHECK lines do not match.
Fix this by ignoring the program name and starting the check line at "error:".

James Henderson 0ae9e952f7 [test][llvm-dwarfdump][NFC] Improve test readability
This patch adds and improves comments in the debug_line_invalid.test and
its associated input file so that it is easier to follow. It uses '##'
to make comments stand out from lit and FileCheck commands.

It also reflows some commands so that the lines are not so long and are
easier to read and fixes some copy/paste errors.

Ulrich Weigand 63336795f0 [FPEnv] Default NoFPExcept SDNodeFlag to false
The NoFPExcept bit in SDNodeFlags currently defaults to true, unlike all
other such flags. This is a problem, because it implies that all code that
transforms SDNodes without copying flags can introduce a correctness bug,
not just a missed optimization.

This patch changes the default to false. This makes it necessary to move
setting the (No)FPExcept flag for constrained intrinsics from the
visitConstrainedIntrinsic routine to the generic visit routine at the
place where the other flags are set, or else the intersectFlagsWith
call would erase the NoFPExcept flag again.

In order to avoid making non-strict FP code worse, whenever
SelectionDAGISel::SelectCodeCommon matches on a set of orignal nodes
none of which can raise FP exceptions, it will preserve this property
on all results nodes generated, by setting the NoFPExcept flag on
those result nodes that would otherwise be considered as raising
an FP exception.

To check whether or not an SD node should be considered as raising
an FP exception, the following logic applies:

- For machine nodes, check the mayRaiseFPException property of
  the underlying MI instruction
- For regular nodes, check isStrictFPOpcode
- For target nodes, check a newly introduced isTargetStrictFPOpcode

The latter is implemented by reserving a range of target opcodes,
similarly to how memory opcodes are identified. (Note that there a
bit of a quirk in identifying target nodes that are both memory nodes
and strict FP nodes. To simplify the logic, right now all target memory
nodes are automatically also considered strict FP nodes -- this could
be fixed by adding one more range.)

serge_sans_paille 24ab9b537e Generalize the pass registration mechanism used by Polly to any third-party tool
There's quite a lot of references to Polly in the LLVM CMake codebase. However
the registration pattern used by Polly could be useful to other external
projects: thanks to that mechanism it would be possible to develop LLVM
extension without touching the LLVM code base.

This patch has two effects:

1. Remove all code specific to Polly in the llvm/clang codebase, replaicing it
   with a generic mechanism

2. Provide a generic mechanism to register compiler extensions.

A compiler extension is similar to a pass plugin, with the notable difference
that the compiler extension can be configured to be built dynamically (like
plugins) or statically (like regular passes).

As a result, people willing to add extra passes to clang/opt can do it using a
separate code repo, but still have their pass be linked in clang/opt as built-in
passes.

Alex Richardson a4f3847f3d [llvm-ranlib] Relax D-flag.test to allow it to pass on Windows hosts
It appears that Windows hosts always report rwxrwxrwx even with the
chmod 644 invocation. As this test only cares about the timestamps
and not the permissions, use a regex wildcard instead.

Sanjay Patel 88fc5fdef6 [InstCombine] remove uses before deleting instructions (PR43723)
This is a less ambitious alternative to previous attempts to fix
this bug with:

...because those all failed bot testing with use-after-free or
other problems.

The original crashing/assert problem is still showing up on
various fuzzers, so I've added a new minimal test based on
another one of those failures.

Instead of trying to manage and coordinate the logic in
isAllocSiteRemovable() with the deletion loops, just loosen
the existing code that handles casts and GEP by replacing
with undef to allow other opcodes. That means that no
instructions with uses should assert on deletion, and there
are hopefully no non-obvious sanitizer bugs induced.

The version string can be customized by CMake options, so the 'LLVM
version' substring is not guaranteed to appear (see

David Green 6b067c6a91 [ARM] Update ifcvt test target triples and opcodes. NFC
Some of the instructions in these tests were technically invalid
combinations (using ARM opcodes in Thumb mode, for example). Update the
targets and the instructions used to be more correct.

Andrzej Warzynski 404da13e1e [AArch64][SVE] Gather loads: pass 32 bit unpacked offsets as nxv2i32
Summary:
Currently 32 bit unpacked offsets are passed as nxv2i64. However, as
pointed out in https://reviews.llvm.org/D71074, using nxv2i32 instead
would improve consistency with:
  * how other arguments are treated
  * how scatter stores are implemented
This patch makes sure that 32 bit unpacked offsets are passes as nxv2i32
instead of nxv2i64.

Alex Richardson 535b3c6b2f [llvm-ranlib] Handle -D and -U command line flag
I have been trying to build CheriBSD (a fork for FreeBSD for the CHERI
CPU) with LLVM binutils instead of the default elftoolchain utilities.
I noticed that building static archives was failing because ranlib is
invoked with the -D flag. This failed with llvm-ranlib since it parses
the -D flag as the archive path and reports an error that more than one
archive has been passed.

xray-empty-firstmbb.mir does not test the intended code path. Change
xray-instruction-threshold to 0 to exercise the code path.

Delete xray-empty-function.mir . Empty MachineFunction does not work.
Various passes (e.g. MachineDominatorTree) assume the presence of an
entry block.

Fangrui Song d2bb8c16e7 [MC][TargetMachine] Delete MCTargetOptions::MCPIECopyRelocations
clang/lib/CodeGen/CodeGenModule performs the -mpie-copy-relocations
check and sets dso_local on applicable global variables. We don't need
to duplicate the work in TargetMachine shouldAssumeDSOLocal.

Verified that -mpie-copy-relocations can still emit PC relative
relocations for external variable accesses.

Hideto Ueno e996303431 [Attributor] AAValueConstantRange: Value range analysis using constant range
This patch introduces `AAValueConstantRange`, which answers a possible range for integer value in a specific program point.
One of the motivations is propagating existing `range` metadata. (I think we need to change the situation that `range` metadata cannot be put to Argument).

The state is a tuple of `ConstantRange` and it is initialized to (known, assumed) = ([-∞, +∞], empty).

Currently, AAValueConstantRange is created when AAValueSimplify cannot
simplify the value.

Supported
 - BinaryOperator(add, sub, ...)
 - CmpInst(icmp eq, ...)
 - !range metadata

`AAValueConstantRange` is not intended to extend to polyhedral range value analysis.

Matt Arsenault 4d7201e7b9 DAG: Stop trying to fold FP -(x-y) -> y-x in getNode with nsz
This was increasing the number of instructions when fsub was legalized
on AMDGPU with no signed zeros enabled. This fold should be guarded by
hasOneUse, and I don't think getNode should be doing that. The same
fold is already done as a regular combine through isNegatibleForFree.

This does require duplicating, even though isNegatibleForFree does
this combine already (and properly checks hasOneUse) to avoid one PPC
regression. In the regression, the outer fneg has nsz but the fsub
operand does not. isNegatibleForFree only sees the operand, and
doesn't see it's used from a nsz context. A nsz parameter needs to be
added and threaded through isNegatibleForFree to avoid this.

Craig Topper 374e0299cf [X86][InstCombine] Add constant folding and simplification support for pdep and pext
The instructions use a mask to either pack disjoint bits together(pext) or spread bits to disjoint locations(pdep). If the mask is all 0s then no bits are extracted or deposited. If the mask is all ones, then the source value is written to the result since no compression or expansion happens. Otherwise if both the source and mask are constant we can walk the bits in the source/mask and calculate the result.

There other crazier things we could do like computeKnownBits or turning pext into shift/and if only a single contiguous range of bits is extracted.

Nikita Popov 27a0795943 [InstCombine] Fix infinite loop due to bitcast <-> phi transforms
Fix for https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44245.

The optimizeBitCastFromPhi() and FoldPHIArgOpIntoPHI() end up
fighting against each other, because optimizeBitCastFromPhi()
assumes that bitcasts of loads will get folded. This doesn't happen
here, because a dangling phi node prevents the one-use fold in
https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/blob/master/llvm/lib/Transforms/InstCombine/InstCombineLoadStoreAlloca.cpp#L620-L628 from triggering.

This patch fixes the issue by adding manually removing the old phis.

Judging by the existing comments, this was the intention, but the
transform never actually checked if the existing phi's would be removed.

this causes much worse code generation on AMDGPU.

Johannes Doerfert a6c59e0792 [Utils] Deal with occasionally deleted functions
When functions exist for some but not all run lines we need to be
careful when selecting the prefix. So far, a common prefix was
potentially chosen as there was never a "conflict" that would have
caused otherwise. With this patch we avoid common prefixes if they
are used by run lines that do not emit the function.

Johannes Doerfert 751336340d [Attributor] Function signature rewrite infrastructure
As part of the Attributor manifest we want to change the signature of
functions. This patch introduces a fairly generic interface to do so.
As a first, very simple, use case, we remove unused arguments. A second
use case, pointer privatization, will be committed with this patch as
well.

A lot of the code and ideas are taken from argument promotion and we
run all argument promotion tests through this framework as well.

This is the second step after D67871 to make use of abstract call sites.
In this patch the argument we associate with a abstract call site
argument can be the one in the callback callee instead of the one in the
callback broker.

Caveat: We cannot allow no-alias arguments for problematic callbacks:
As described in [1], adding no-alias (or restrict) to arguments could
break synchronization as the synchronization effect, e.g., a barrier,
does not "alias" with the pointer anymore. This disables no-alias
annotation for potentially problematic arguments until we implement the
fix described in [1].

Johannes Doerfert 2888019871 [Attributor] Annotate the memory behavior of call site arguments
Especially for callbacks, annotating the call site arguments is
important. Doing so exposed a too strong dependence of AAMemoryBehavior
on AANoCapture since we handle the case of potentially captured pointers
explicitly.

The changes to the tests are all mechanical.

Seeing some curious CFI failures internally - which makes little sense
to me, as I don't think anyone is using this flag (even us,
internally)... so sounds like a bug in my code somewhere (possibly a
latent one that propagating this flag exposed, not sure). Reverting
while I investigate.

Amend MS offset operator implementation, to more closely fit with its MS counterpart:

    1. InlineAsm: evaluate non-local source entities to their (address) location
    2. Provide a mean with which one may acquire the address of an assembly label via MS syntax, rather than yielding a memory reference (i.e. "offset asm_label" and "$asm_label" should be synonymous
    3. address PR32530

Fix broken test where the break appears unrelated.

- Set up appropriate memory-input rewrites for variable references.

- Intel-dialect assembly printing now correctly handles addresses by adding "offset".

This assumed a single pattern if there was a predicate. Relax this a
bit, and allow multiple patterns as long as they have the same class.

This was only broken for the DAG path. GlobalISel seems to have
handled this correctly already.

Bryan Chan 0c5bee8fdd [test] do not parse ls output for file size; NFCI
Parsing `ls -l` output to obtain the size of a file is unreliable; the
exact output format is not specified, and some user or group names may
contain multiple words, causing `cut -f5 -d' '` to extract an incorrect
value. `wc -c`, on the other hand, is portable, and there are precendents
of its use in test cases.

Fangrui Song 03b9f0a5e1 Ignore "no-frame-pointer-elim" and "no-frame-pointer-elim-non-leaf" in favor of "frame-pointer"
D56351 (included in LLVM 8.0.0) introduced "frame-pointer".  All tests
which use "no-frame-pointer-elim" or "no-frame-pointer-elim-non-leaf"
have been migrated to use "frame-pointer".

Implement UpgradeFramePointerAttributes to upgrade the two obsoleted
function attributes for bitcode. Their semantics are ignored.

David Green b4abe7afbf [ARM] Sink splat to ICmp
This adds ICmp to the list of instructions that we sink a splat to in a
loop, allowing the register forms of instructions to be selected more
often. It does not add FCmp yet as the results look a little odd, trying
to keep the register in an float reg and having to move it back to a GPR.

QingShan Zhang 874a8004f9 [PowerPC] Exploit the rlwinm instructions for "and" with constant
For now, PowerPC will using several instructions to get the constant and "and" it with the following case:

Martin Storsjö 7ca86ee649 [COFF] Make the autogenerated .weak.<name>.default symbols static
If we have references to the same extern_weak in multiple objects,
all of them would generate external symbols with the same name. Make
them static to avoid duplicate definitions; nothing should need to
refer to this symbol outside of the current object.

GCC/binutils seems to handle the same by not using a fixed string
for the ".default" suffix, but instead using the name of some other
defined external symbol from the same object (which is supposed to
be unique among objects unless there's other duplicate definitions).

Nemanja Ivanovic a9ad65a2b3 [PowerPC] Change default for unaligned FP access for older subtargets
This is a fix for https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40554

Some CPU's trap to the kernel on unaligned floating point access and there are
kernels that do not handle the interrupt. The program then fails with a SIGBUS
according to the PR. This just switches the default for unaligned access to only
allow it on recent server CPUs that are known to allow this.

Kang Zhang d1b51c5de7 [PowerPC] Modify the hasSideEffects of some VSX instructions from 1 to 0
Summary:
If we didn't set the value for hasSideEffects bit in our td file,  `llvm-tblgen`
will set it as true for those instructions which has no match pattern.
Below 6 instructions don't set the hasSideEffects flag and don't have match
pattern, so their hasSideEffects flag will be set true by llvm-tblgen.

But in fact below instructions don't modify any special register and don't have
other SideEffects, they shouldn't have SideEffects.
This patch is to modify the hasSideEffects of below instructions from 1 to 0.

Craig Topper fca4736874 [X86] Allow v2i32->v2f32 strict and non-strict uint_to_fp to be widened to v4i32->v4f32 under avx512.
With avx512vl we get v4i32->v4f32 uint_to_fp instructions. With
avx512f we get v16i32->v16f32 instructions which we can use to
emulate v4i32->v4f32.

Summary:
Previously we did this with isel patterns that used garbage in
the widened part of the source. But that's not valid for strictfp.
So now we custom widen and use zeroes for the widened elemens for
strictfp.

This replaces D71864.

Craig Topper a5d266b9cf [X86] Add custom legalization for strict_uint_to_fp v2i32->v2f32.
I believe the algorithm we use for non-strict is exception safe
for strict. The fsub won't generate any exceptions. After it we
will have an exact version of the i32 integer in a double. Then
we just round it to f32. That rounding will generate a precision
exception if it can't be represented exactly.

Craig Topper f953882113 [X86] Custom widen 128/256-bit vXi32 uint_to_fp on avx512f targets without avx512vl. Similar for vXi64 sint_to_fp/uint_to_fp on avx512dq without avx512vl.
Previously we widened these through isel patterns, but that
didn't work for STRICT_ nodes. Those need to be padded with
zeroes in the upper bits which is harder to do in isel patterns.

Craig Topper 90ff34e6ab [X86] Add custom widening for v2i32->v2f64 strict_uint_to_fp with AVX512F, but not AVX512VL.
Previously we were widening with isel patterns, but that wasn't
exception safe for strict FP. So now we widen to v4i32->v4f64
during type legalization. And then let op legalization further
widen to v8i32->v8f64.

The vec_int_to_fp.ll changes are caused by us no longer narrowing
extracts of strict_uint_to_fp to the v4i32->v2f64 instruction
without AVX512VL only to have isel rewiden it. Now we just keep
it wide throughout. So we don't have an opportunity to narrow
the load.

Craig Topper bb0138729b [X86] Add custom widening for v2f64->v2i32 strict_fp_to_uint with avx512f, but not avx512vl.
AVX512F added instruction for vector fp_to_uint conversions. With
AVX512VL we can use a specific instruction that does v2f64->v4i32 with
zeroes in the 2 extra elements. For non-strict nodes without AVX512VL
we relied on type legalization to turn it to v4f64->v4i32 which would
later be widened by op legalization to v8f64->v8i32. But type legalization
doesn't currently widen strict nodes since it doesn't know how to
safely and efficiently pad the extra elements. But for X86 we know
padding with zeroes is safe and efficient so do that ourselves.

Kristina Bessonova cdd25a4c74 [DebugInfo][SelectionDAG] Change order while transferring SDDbgValue to another node
SelectionDAG::transferDbgValues() can 'reattach' SDDbgValue from one to
another node, but doesn't change its source order. If the destination node has
the order greater than the SDDbgValue, there are two possible issues
revealed later:

* If debug info is attached to an instruction that is the first definition
of a register, this ends up with a def-after-use and the debug info
gets 'undef' later.

* If MIR has another definition of a register above the debug info,
the debug info may represent a source variable incorrectly because
it appears (significantly) before an instruction corresponded
to this debug info.

So, the patch changes the order of an SDDbgValue when it is moved
to a node with greater order.

Yonghong Song ffd57408ef [BPF] Enable relocation location for load/store/shifts
Previous btf field relocation is always at assignment like
   r1 = 4
which is converted from an ld_imm64 instruction.

This patch did an optimization such that relocation
instruction might be load/store/shift. Specically, the
following insns may also have relocation, except BPF_MOV:
  LDB, LDH, LDW, LDD, STB, STH, STW, STD,
  LDB32, LDH32, LDW32, STB32, STH32, STW32,
  SLL, SRL, SRA

To accomplish this, a few BPF target specific
codegen only instructions are invented. They
are generated at backend BPF SimplifyPatchable phase,
which is at early llc phase when SSA form is available.
The new codegen only instructions will be converted to
real proper instructions at the codegen and BTF emission stage.

Note that, as revealed by a few tests, this optimization might
be actual generating more relocations:
Scenario 1:
  if (...) {
    ... __builtin_preserve_field_info(arg->b2, 0) ...
  } else {
    ... __builtin_preserve_field_info(arg->b2, 0) ...
  }
  Compiler could do CSE to only have one relocation. But if both
  of the above is translated into codegen internal instructions,
  the compiler will not be able to do that.
Scenario 2:
  offset = ... __builtin_preserve_field_info(arg->b2, 0) ...
  ...
  ...  offset ...
  ...  offset ...
  ...  offset ...
  For whatever reason, the compiler might be temporarily do copy
  propagation of the righthand of "offset" assignment like
  ...  __builtin_preserve_field_info(arg->b2, 0) ...
  ...  __builtin_preserve_field_info(arg->b2, 0) ...
  and CSE will be able to deduplicate later.
  But if these intrinsics are converted to BPF pseudo instructions,
  they will not be able to get deduplicated.

I do not expect we have big instruction count difference.
It may actually reduce instruction count since now relocation
is in deeper insn dependency chain.
For example, for test offset-reloc-fieldinfo-2.ll, this patch
generates 7 instead of 6 relocations for non-alu32 mode, but it
actually reduced instruction count from 29 to 26.

With avx512dq+avx512vl we have instruction that implements this and
places zeroes in the upper 64-bits of the destination xmm register.

This reverts part of commit 240aff80e0.
It reverts cc802ea67b.

We currently run LLVM tests in environments where python3 exists on
PATH, but it is broken. I don't think PATH discovery is a strong enough
signal that a working Python 3 installation exists.

If this will be the way forward, IMO we should follow the direction of
debug-info-tests, and use CMake's PYTHON_EXECUTABLE, which in the near
future will be a known-to-work Python 3 executable. If it's not Python
3, then we don't have to run this test.

Kang Zhang 6d88b7d6e7 [PowerPC] Modify the hasSideEffects of MTLR and MFLR from 1 to 0
Summary:
If we didn't set the value for hasSideEffects bit in our td file, `llvm-tblgen`
will set it as true for those instructions which has no match pattern.
The instructions `MTLR` and `MFLR` don't set the hasSideEffects flag and don't
have match pattern, so their hasSideEffects flag will be set true by
`llvm-tblgen`.
But in fact, we can use `[LR]` to model the two instructions, so they should not
have SideEffects.

This patch is to modify the hasSideEffects of MTLR and MFLR from 1 to 0.

In the worst case, this requires a 128-bit move instruction to

Georgii Rymar 1a2d2b492a [llvm-readobj] - Merge `gnu-symbols.test` to `symbols.test` and cleanup.
This cleans up and merges `gnu-symbols.test` to `symbols.test`.
Initially `gnu-symbols.test` tested the following things:
1) How symbols are printed in GNU style.
   It does not make sense to have a separate file for such tests.
2) It tried to test proc-specific symbol indexes. The test was incomplete and
   also we already have `symbol-shndx.test` for that, so this part was removed.
3) It tested `--dyn-symbols` and `--symbols` correlation. All following
   cases were moved to `symbols.test`:
   a) That `--dyn-symbols` does not trigger showing regular symbols..
   b) That `--symbols` triggers `--dyn-symbols` implicitly.
   c) That `--dyn-symbols` and `--symbols` works fine together.

We basically use `checkForAllInstructions` to loop through all the instructions in a function that access memory through a pointer: load, store, atomicrmw, atomiccmpxchg
Note that we can now use the `getPointerOperand()` that gets us the pointer operand for an instruction that belongs to the aforementioned set.

Question: This function returns `nullptr` if the instruction is `volatile`. Why?
Guess:  Because if it is volatile, we don't want to do any transformation to it.

Another subtle point is that I had to add AtomicRMW, AtomicCmpXchg to `initializeInformationCache()`. Following `checkAllInstructions()` path, that
seemed the most reasonable place to add it and correct the fact that these instructions were ignored (they were not in `OpcodeInstMap` etc.). Is that ok?

Craig Topper c06e53119b [X86] Use 128-bit vector instructions for f32/f64->i64 conversions on 32-bit targets with avx512dq and avx512vl instructions.
On 32-bit targets we can't use the scalar instruction so we
insert the scalar into a vector and use packed conversions.
Previously we used either v4f32->v4i64 or v4f64->v4i64 to avoid
some complexity creating target specific ISD opcodes for
v4f32->v2i64. But this causes extra vzeroupper instructions and
possibly frequency throttling on Intel CPUs.

This patch changes this to create a 128-bit vector and uses a
target specific ISD opcode if needed.

Georgii Rymar 301cb91428 [llvm-readobj] - Remove an excessive helper for printing dynamic tags.
This removes the `getTypeString` from readeobj source because it
almost duplicates the existent method: `ELFFile<ELFT>::getDynamicTagAsString`.

Side effect: now it prints "<unknown:>0xHEXVALUE" instead of "(unknown)" for unknown values.
llvm-readelf before this patch printed:

Ulrich Weigand 0d3f782e41 [FPEnv][X86] More strict int <-> FP conversion fixes
Fix several several additional problems with the int <-> FP conversion
logic both in common code and in the X86 target. In particular:

- The STRICT_FP_TO_UINT expansion emits a floating-point compare. This
  compare can raise exceptions and therefore needs to be a strict compare.
  I've made it signaling (even though quiet would also be correct) as
  signaling is the more usual default for an LT. This code exists both
  in common code and in the X86 target.

- The STRICT_UINT_TO_FP expansion algorithm was incorrect for strict mode:
  it emitted two STRICT_SINT_TO_FP nodes and then used a select to choose one
  of the results. This can cause spurious exceptions by the STRICT_SINT_TO_FP
  that ends up not chosen. I've fixed the algorithm to use only a single
  STRICT_SINT_TO_FP instead.

- The !isStrictFPEnabled logic in DoInstructionSelection would sometimes do
  the wrong thing because it calls getOperationAction using the result VT.
  But for some opcodes, incuding [SU]INT_TO_FP, getOperationAction needs to
  be called using the operand VT.

- Remove some (obsolete) code in X86DAGToDAGISel::Select that would mutate
  STRICT_FP_TO_[SU]INT to non-strict versions unnecessarily.

This moves the X86 specific transform from rL364407
into DAGCombiner to generically handle 'little to big' cases
(for example: extract_subvector(v2i64 bitcast(v16i8))). This
allows us to remove both the x86 implementation and the aarch64
bitcast(extract_subvector(bitcast())) combine.

Florian Hahn 109e4e3851 [Matrix] Add forward shape propagation and first shape aware lowerings.
This patch adds infrastructure for forward shape propagation to
LowerMatrixIntrinsics. It also updates the pass to make use of
the shape information to break up larger vector operations and to
eliminate unnecessary conversion operations between columnwise matrixes
and flattened vectors: if shape information is available for an
instruction, lower the operation to a set of instructions operating on
columns. For example, a store of a matrix is broken down into separate
stores for each column. For users that do not have shape
information (e.g. because they do not yet support shape information
aware lowering), we pack the result columns into a flat vector and
update those users.

It also adds shape aware lowering for the first non-intrinsic
instruction: vector stores.

Example:

As the extern_weak target might be missing, resolving to the absolute
address zero, we can't use the normal direct PC-relative branch
instructions (as that would result in relocations out of range).

Improve the classifyGlobalFunctionReference method to set
MO_DLLIMPORT/MO_COFFSTUB, and simplify the existing code in
AArch64TargetLowering::LowerCall to use the return value from
classifyGlobalFunctionReference for these cases.

Add code in both AArch64FastISel and GlobalISel/IRTranslator to
bail out for function calls to extern weak functions on windows,
to let SelectionDAG handle them.

This matches what was done for X86 in 6bf108d77a.

Summary:
    This patch introduces the ROLBRd and RORBRd pseudo-instructions,
    which implemenent the "traditional" rotate operations; instead of
    the AVR rotate instructions that use the carry bit.

    The code is not optimized at all. Especially when dealing with
    loops of rotate instructions, this codegen should be improved some
    day.

[SelectionDAG] Copy FP flags when visiting a binary instruction.
Summary:
We noticed in Julia that the sequence below no longer turned into
a sequence of FMA instructions in LLVM 7+, but it did in LLVM 6.

Unlike Clang, Julia doesn't set the `unsafe-fp-math=true` function
attribute, but rather emits more local instruction flags.

This partially undoes https://reviews.llvm.org/D46854 and if required I can try to minimize the test further.

Reid Kleckner b2c1ba5b1f Revert "[ARM][TypePromotion] Enable by default"
This reverts commit ee7579409b.

It causes crashes during ThinLTO. I suspect the issue is related to
races on the global TypeSize variable, which is 80 at the time of the
crash.

Philip Reames be051f4312 [Test] Add examples of problematic assembler auto-padding
This is in the context of the automatic padding work for the jcc erratum mitigation.  These are example cases we need to *not* pad for correctness.  Exact mechanism to suppress is still TBD, but saving the tests which have come up.

Eric Astor dc5b614fa9 [ms] [X86] Use "P" modifier on operands to call instructions in inline X86 assembly.

This is documented as the appropriate template modifier for call operands.

when folding a bitcast into a GEP with vector/array types.
If the alloc sizes specified by the datalayout don't match,

Sanjay Patel 19f9f374d9 [SimplifyLibCalls] require fast-math-flags for pow(X, -0.5) transforms
As discussed in PR44330:

...the transform from pow(X, -0.5) libcall/intrinsic to
reciprocal square root can result in small deviations from
the expected result due to differences in the pow()
implementation and/or the extra rounding step from the division.

This patch proposes to allow that difference with either the
'approximate functions' or 'reassociate' FMF:

In practice, this likely means that the code is compiled with
all of 'fast' (-ffast-math), but I have preserved the existing
specializations for -0.0/-INF that enable generating safe code
if those special values are allowed simultaneously with
allowing approximation/reassociation.

The question about whether a similar restriction is needed for
the non-reciprocal case -- pow(X, 0.5) -- is deferred. That
transform is allowed without FMF currently, and this patch does
not change that behavior.

Matt Arsenault f9677c4757 Mips: Make test resistant to future changes
This seems to have been relying on extra spills being inserted in
these blocks to increase the code size to trigger branch
relaxation. This broke when these spills were avoided. Add some asm to
pad the size of the blocks to make it not matter.

Matt Arsenault 42a26445f9 AMDGPU/GlobalISel: Fix misuse of div_scale intrinsics
Confusingly, the intrinsic operands do not match the
instruction/custom node. The order is shuffled, and the 3rd operand is
an immediate to select operands.

I'm not 100% sure I did this right, but fdiv still doesn't select end
to end and it will be easier to tell when it does. This at least
avoids an assertion in RegBankSelect and allows hitting the fallback
on selection.

Vedant Kumar fa4701e197 [DWARF] Defer creating declaration DIEs until we prepare call site info
It isn't necessary to create DIEs for all of the declaration subprograms
in a CU's retainedTypes list. We can defer creating these subprograms
until we need to prepare a call site tag that refers to one.

This cleanup was mentioned in passing in D70350.

Vedant Kumar 79daafc903 Reland: [DWARF] Allow cross-CU references of subprogram definitions
This allows a call site tag in CU A to reference a callee DIE in CU B
without resorting to creating an incomplete duplicate DIE for the callee
inside of CU A.

We already allow cross-CU references of subprogram declarations, so it
doesn't seem like definitions ought to be special.

This improves entry value evaluation and tail call frame synthesis in
the LTO setting. During LTO, it's common for cross-module inlining to
produce a call in some CU A where the callee resides in a different CU,
and there is no declaration subprogram for the callee anywhere. In this
case llvm would (unnecessarily, I think) emit an empty DW_TAG_subprogram
in order to fill in the call site tag. That empty 'definition' defeats
entry value evaluation etc., because the debugger can't figure out what
it means.

As a follow-up, maybe we could add a DWARF verifier check that a
DW_TAG_subprogram at least has a DW_AT_name attribute.

Update:

Reland with a fix to create a declaration DIE when the declaration is
missing from the CU's retainedTypes list. The declaration is left out
of the retainedTypes list in two cases:

1) Re-compiling pre-r266445 bitcode (in which declarations weren't added
   to the retainedTypes list), and
2) Doing LTO function importing (which doesn't update the retainedTypes
   list).

It's possible to handle (1) and (2) by modifying the retainedTypes list
(in AutoUpgrade, or in the LTO importing logic resp.), but I don't see
an advantage to doing it this way, as it would cause more DWARF to be
emitted compared to creating the declaration DIEs lazily.

Tested with a stage2 ThinLTO+RelWithDebInfo build of clang, and with a
ReleaseLTO-g build of the test suite.

Michael Trent f72d001e09 llvm-objdump should ignore Mach-O stab symbols for disassembly.
Summary:
llvm-objdump will commonly error out when disassembling a Mach-O binary with
stab symbols, or when printing a Mach-O symbol table that includesstab symbols.
That is because the Mach-O N_OSO symbol has been modified to include the
bottom 8-bit value of the Mach-O's cpusubtype value in the section field. In
general, one cannot blindly assume a stab symbol's section field is valid
unless one has actually consulted the specification for the specific stab.

Since objdump mostly just walks the symbol table to get mnemonics for code
disassembly it's best for objdump to just ignore stab symbols. llvm-nm will
do a more complete and correct job of displaying Mach-O symbol table contents.
