When implicit HD function calls a function in device compilation,
if one candidate is an implicit HD function, current resolution rule is:
D wins over HD and H
HD and H are equal
this caused regression when there is an otherwise worse D candidate
This patch changes that to
D, HD and H are all equal
The rationale is that we already know for host compilation there is already
a valid candidate in HD and H candidates that will not cause error. Allowing
HD and H gives us a fall back candidate that will not cause error. If D wins,
that means D has to be a better match otherwise, therefore D should also
be a valid candidate that will not cause error. In this way, we can guarantee
no regression.

Previously, this would fail if the builtin headers had been "claimed" by
a different module that wraps these builtin headers. libc++ does this,
for example.
This change adds a test demonstrating this situation; the test fails
without the fix.
constexpr variables are compile time constants and implicitly const, therefore
they are safe to emit on both device and host side. Besides, in many cases
they are intended for both device and host, therefore it makes sense
to emit them on both device and host sides if necessary.
In most cases constexpr variables are used as rvalue and the variables
themselves do not need to be emitted. However if their address is taken,
then they need to be emitted.
For C++14, clang is able to handle that since clang emits them with
available_externally linkage together with the initializer.
However for C++17, the constexpr static data member of a class or template class
become inline variables implicitly. Therefore they become definitions with
linkonce_odr or weak_odr linkages. As such, they can not have available_externally
linkage.
This patch fixes that by adding implicit constant attribute to
file scope constexpr variables and constexpr static data members
in device compilation.

Directly follow the wording by relaxing the AST invariant that all
parameters after one with a default arguemnt also have default
arguments, and removing the diagnostic on missing default arguments
on a pack-expanded parameter following a parameter with a default
argument.
Testing also revealed that we need to special-case explicit
specializations of templates with a pack following a parameter with a
default argument, as such explicit specializations are otherwise
impossible to write. The standard wording doesn't address this case; a
issue has been filed.
This exposed a bug where we would briefly consider a parameter to have
no default argument while we parse a delay-parsed default argument for
that parameter, which is also fixed.

I think we would be better off with tests explicitly specifying the
language mode. Right now Lang_C means C99, but reads as "any C version",
or as "unspecified C version".
I also changed '-std=c++98' to '-std=c++03' because they are aliases (so
there is no difference in practice), because Clang implements C++03
rules in practice, and because 03 makes a nice sortable progression
between 03, 11, 14, 17, 20.

Canonicalize on storing FP options in LangOptions instead of
redundantly in CodeGenOptions. Incorporate -ffast-math directly
into the values of those LangOptions rather than considering it
separately when building FPOptions. Build IR attributes from
those options rather than a mix of sources.
We should really simplify the driver/cc1 interaction here and have
the driver pass down options that cc1 directly honors. That can
happen in a follow-up, though.

This patch implements matrix index expressions
(matrix[RowIdx][ColumnIdx]).
It does so by introducing a new MatrixSubscriptExpr(Base, RowIdx, ColumnIdx).
MatrixSubscriptExprs are built in 2 steps in ActOnMatrixSubscriptExpr. First,
if the base of a subscript is of matrix type, we create a incomplete
MatrixSubscriptExpr(base, idx, nullptr). Second, if the base is an incomplete
MatrixSubscriptExpr, we create a complete
MatrixSubscriptExpr(base->getBase(), base->getRowIdx(), idx)
Similar to vector elements, it is not possible to take the address of
a MatrixSubscriptExpr.
For CodeGen, a new MatrixElt type is added to LValue, which is very
similar to VectorElt. The only difference is that we may need to cast
the type of the base from an array to a vector type when accessing it.

GCC 10.1 introduced support for the [[]] style spelling of attributes in C
mode. Similar to how GCC supports __attribute__((foo)) as [[gnu::foo]] in
C++ mode, it now supports the same spelling in C mode as well. This patch
makes a change in Clang so that when you use the GCC attribute spelling,
the attribute is automatically available in all three spellings by default.
However, like Clang, GCC has some attributes it only recognizes in C++ mode
(specifically, abi_tag and init_priority), which this patch also honors.
This patch implements the + and - binary operators for values of
MatrixType. It adds support for matrix +/- matrix, scalar +/- matrix and
matrix +/- scalar.
For the matrix, matrix case, the types must initially be structurally
equivalent. For the scalar,matrix variants, the element type of the
matrix must match the scalar type.

We didn't properly build default argument expressions previously -- we
failed to build the wrapper CXXDefaultArgExpr node, which meant that
std::source_location misbehaved, and we didn't perform default argument
instantiation when necessary, which meant that dependent default
arguments in function templates didn't work at all.
The headers provided with recent GNU toolchains for PPC have code that includes
typedefs such as:
typedef _Complex float __cfloat128 __attribute__ ((__mode__ (__KC__)))
This patch allows clang to compile programs that contain
#include <math.h>
with -mfloat128 which it currently fails to compile.

If you remember the mail [1] I sent out about how I envision the future of the
already existing checkers to look dependencywise, one my main points was that no
checker that emits diagnostics should be a dependency. This is more problematic
for some checkers (ahem, RetainCount [2]) more than for others, like this one.
The MallocChecker family is a mostly big monolithic modeling class some small
reporting checkers that only come to action when we are constructing a warning
message, after the actual bug was detected. The implication of this is that
NewDeleteChecker doesn't really do anything to depend on, so this change was
relatively simple.
The only thing that complicates this change is that FreeMemAux (MallocCheckers
method that models general memory deallocation) returns after calling a bug
reporting method, regardless whether the report was ever emitted (which may not
always happen, for instance, if the checker responsible for the report isn't
enabled). This return unfortunately happens before cleaning up the maps in the
GDM keeping track of the state of symbols (whether they are released, whether
that release was successful, etc). What this means is that upon disabling some
checkers, we would never clean up the map and that could've lead to false
positives, e.g.:

There two possible approaches I had in mind:
Make bug reporting methods of MallocChecker returns whether they succeeded, and
proceed with the rest of FreeMemAux if not,
Halt execution with a sink node upon failure. I decided to go with this, as
described in the code.
As you can see from the removed/changed test files, before the big checker
dependency effort landed, there were tests to check for all the weird
configurations of enabled/disabled checkers and their messy interactions, I
largely repurposed these.

The `SubEngine` interface is an interface with only one implementation
`EpxrEngine`. Adding other implementations are difficult and very
unlikely in the near future. Currently, if anything from `ExprEngine` is
to be exposed to other classes it is moved to `SubEngine` which
restricts the alternative implementations. The virtual methods are have
a slight perofrmance impact. Furthermore, instead of the `LLVM`-style
inheritance a native inheritance is used here, which renders `LLVM`
functions like e.g. `cast<T>()` unusable here. This patch removes this
interface and allows usage of `ExprEngine` directly.

It presents 2 issues that have bugged me for years now:
* OSObject is NOT a boolean option. It in fact has 3 states:
* osx.OSObjectRetainCount is enabled but OSObject it set to false: RetainCount
regards the option as disabled.
* sx.OSObjectRetainCount is enabled and OSObject it set to true: RetainCount
regards the option as enabled.
* osx.OSObjectRetainCount is disabled: RetainCount regards the option as
disabled.
* The hack involves directly modifying AnalyzerOptions::ConfigTable, which
shouldn't even be public in the first place.
This still isn't really ideal, because it would be better to preserve the option
and remove the checker (we want visible checkers to be associated with
diagnostics, and hidden options like this one to be associated with changing how
the modeling is done), but backwards compatibility is an issue.

-fno-semantic-interposition is currently the CC1 default. (The opposite
disables some interprocedural optimizations.) However, it does not infer
dso_local: on most targets accesses to ExternalLinkage functions/variables
defined in the current module still need PLT/GOT.
This patch makes explicit -fno-semantic-interposition infer dso_local,
so that PLT/GOT can be eliminated if targets implement local aliases
for AsmPrinter::getSymbolPreferLocal (currently only x86).
Currently we check whether the module flag "SemanticInterposition" is 0.
If yes, infer dso_local. In the future, we can infer dso_local unless
"SemanticInterposition" is 1: frontends other than clang will also
benefit from the optimization if they don't bother setting the flag.
(There will be risks if they do want ELF interposition: they need to set
"SemanticInterposition" to 1.)

This makes many scenarios simpler by not requiring the user to write
ignoringImplicit() all the time, nor to account for non-visible
cxxConstructExpr() and cxxMemberCalExpr() nodes. This is also, in part,
inclusive of the equivalent of adding a use of ignoringParenImpCasts()
between all expr()-related matchers in an expression.
The pre-existing traverse(TK_AsIs, ...) matcher can be used to explcitly

iAs listed in the summary D77846, we have 5 different categories of bugs we're
checking for in CallAndMessage. I think the documentation placed in the code
explains my thought process behind my decisions quite well.
A non-obvious change I had here is removing the entry for
CallAndMessageUnInitRefArg. In fact, I removed the CheckerNameRef typed field
back in D77845 (it was dead code), so that checker didn't really exist in any
meaningful way anyways.

This option aligns adjacent bitfield separators across lines, in a manner similar to AlignConsecutiveAssignments and friends.

Things this change does not do:
- Align multiple comma-chained bitfield variables. None of the other

than a numeric literal (ie, `int a : SOME_MACRO;`). That'd be fairly
difficult to parse and is rare.

The title and the included test file sums everything up -- the only thing I'm
mildly afraid of is whether anyone actually depends on the weird behavior of
HTMLDiagnostics pretending to be TextDiagnostics if an output directory is not
supplied. If it is, I guess we would need to resort to tiptoeing around the
compatibility flag.

This patch merges two of CXXAllocatorCall's parameters, so that we are able to
supply a CallEvent object to check::NewAllocatorCall (see the description of
D75430 to see why this would be great).
One of the things mentioned by @NoQ was the following:
I think at this point we might actually do a good job sorting out this
check::NewAllocator issue because we have a "separate" "Environment" to hold
the other SVal, which is "objects under construction"! - so we should probably
simply teach CXXAllocatorCall to extract the value from the
objects-under-construction trait of the program state and we're good.
I had MallocChecker in my crosshair for now, so I admittedly threw together
something as a proof of concept. Now that I know that this effort is worth
pursuing though, I'll happily look for a solution better then demonstrated in
this patch.

When I fixed the targets specific builtins to make sure that aux-targets
are checked, it seems I didn't consider cases where the builtins check
the target info for further info. This patch bubbles the target-info
down to the individual checker functions to ensure that they validate
against the aux-target as well.
For non-aux-target invocations, this is an NFC.

As part of this change, I've had to make some changes to the interface of CGCXXABI to return the additional parameters separately rather than adding them directly to a `CallArgList`.

rL82131 changed -O from -O1 to -O2, because -O1 was not different from
-O2 at that time.
GCC treats -O as -O1 and there is now work to make -O1 meaningful.
We can change -O back to -O1 again.

One of the pain points in simplifying MallocCheckers interface by gradually
changing to CallEvent is that a variety of C++ allocation and deallocation
functionalities are modeled through preStmt<...> where CallEvent is unavailable,
and a single one of these callbacks can prevent a mass parameter change.
This patch introduces a new CallEvent, CXXDeallocatorCall, which happens after
preStmt<CXXDeleteExpr>, and can completely replace that callback as
demonstrated.

On the one hand, one might interpret the use of the max-token pragmas or
-fmax-tokens flag as an opt-in to the warning. However, in Chromium
we've found it useful to only opt in selected build configurations, even
though we have the pragmas in the code. For that reason, we think it
makes sense to turn it off by default.

I've also made a stab at imposing some more order on where and how we add
attributes; this part should be NFC. I wasn't sure whether the CUDA use
case for libdevice should propagate CPU/features attributes, so there's a
bit of unnecessary duplication.
This reverts commit bca347508c.
This broke clang/test/Misc/warning-flags.c, because the newly added
warning option in this commit didn't have a matching flag.
Summary:
Wasm currently does not fully handle exception specifications. Rather
than crashing, this treats `throw()` in the same way as `noexcept`, and
ignores and prints a warning for `throw(type, ..)`, for a temporary
measure.

Such a builtin function is mostly useful to preserve btf type id
for non-global data. For example,
extern void foo(..., void *data, int size);
int test(...) {

d.a = ...; d.b = ...; d.c = ...;
foo(..., &d, sizeof(d));
}
The function "foo" in the above only see raw data and does not
know what type of the data is. In certain cases, e.g., logging,
the additional type information will help pretty print.
This patch implemented a BPF specific builtin
u32 btf_type_id = __builtin_btf_type_id(param, flag)
which will return a btf type id for the "param".
flag == 0 will indicate a BTF local relocation,
which means btf type_id only adjusted when bpf program BTF changes.
flag == 1 will indicate a BTF remote relocation,
which means btf type_id is adjusted against linux kernel or
future other entities.

Summary:
Even when BreakBeforeBinaryOperators is set, AlignOperands kept
aligning the beginning of the line, even when it could align the
actual operands (e.g. after an assignment).
With this patch, the operands are actually aligned, and the operator
gets aligned with the equal sign:
int aaaaa = bbbbbb
+ cccccc;
This not happen in tests, to avoid 'breaking' the indentation:
if (aaaaa
&& bbbbb)
return;

The commit 3c28a2dc6b introduced the check that checks if we're
trying to re-enter a main file when building a preamble. Unfortunately this slowed down the preamble
compilation by 80-90% in some test cases, as translateFile is really slow. This change checks
to see if the FileEntry is the main file without calling translateFile, but by using the new
isMainFile check instead. This speeds up preamble building by 1.5-2x for certain test cases that we have.

Commit 73152a2ec2 fixed type checking for
blocks with qualified id parameters. But there are existing APIs in
Apple SDKs relying on the old type checking behavior. Specifically,
these are APIs using NSItemProviderCompletionHandler in
Foundation/NSItemProvider.h. To keep existing code working and to allow
developers to use affected APIs introduce a compatibility mode that
enables the previous and the fixed type checking. This mode is enabled
only on Darwin platforms.

The backends don't seem to properly handle the _ExtInt type in inline
assembly with crashes occurring in many. While the ones I tested seem to
work for powers of 2 < 64 (and some any multiple of 64 greater than
that), it seemed like a better idea to just use of this type in inline
assembly prohibited.
Summary:
If a given parameter in a FunctionDecl has a nonull attribute then the NonNull
constraint in StdCLibraryFunctionsChecker has the same effect as
NonNullParamChecker. I think it is better to emit diagnostics from the simpler
checker. By making NonNullParamChecker as a dependency, in these cases it will
be the first to emit a diagnostic and to stop the analysis on that path.

We create overloaded `&&` and `||` operators to hold the possible
unqualified lookup results (if any) when the operands are dependent. We
could avoid building these in some cases (we will never use the stored
lookup results, and it would be better to not store them or perform the
lookups), but in the general case we will probably still need to handle
overloaded operators even with that optimization.
Summary:
As proposed in https://github.com/WebAssembly/simd/pull/122. Since
these instructions are not yet merged to the SIMD spec proposal, this
patch makes them entirely opt-in by surfacing them only through LLVM
intrinsics and clang builtins. If these instructions are made
official, these intrinsics and builtins should be replaced with simple
instruction patterns.

gcov 4.8 (r189778) moved the exit block from the last to the second.
The .gcda format is compatible with 4.7 but
* decoding libgcov 4.7 produced .gcda with gcov [4.7,8) can mistake the
exit block, emit bogus `%s:'%s' has arcs from exit block\n` warnings,
and print wrong `" returned %s` for branch statistics (-b).
* decoding libgcov 4.8 produced .gcda with gcov 4.7 has similar issues.
Also, rename "return block" to "exit block" because the latter is the
appropriate term.

host device functions.
For now, it seems the most feasible workaround is to treat implicit host device function and explicit host
device function differently. Basically in device compilation for implicit host device functions, keep the
old behavior, i.e. give host device candidates and wrong-sided candidates equal preference. For explicit
host device functions, favor host device candidates against wrong-sided candidates.
The rationale is that explicit host device functions are blessed by the user to be valid host device functions,
that is, they should not cause diagnostics in both host and device compilation. If diagnostics occur, user is
able to fix them. However, there is no guarantee that implicit host device function can be compiled in
device compilation, therefore we need to preserve its overloading resolution in device compilation.

SLH doesn't support asm goto and is unlikely to ever support it. Users of asm
goto need a way to choose whether to use asm goto or fallback to an SLH
compatible code path when SLH is enabled. This feature flag will give users
this ability.

Adds a new data structure, ImmutableGraph, and uses RDF to find LVI gadgets and add them to a MachineGadgetGraph.
More specifically, a new X86 machine pass finds Load Value Injection (LVI) gadgets consisting of a load from memory (i.e., SOURCE), and any operation that may transmit the value loaded from memory over a covert channel, or use the value loaded from memory to determine a branch/call target (i.e., SINK).
Also adds a new target feature to X86: +lvi-load-hardening
The feature can be added via the clang CLI using -mlvi-hardening.

This patch adds a matrix type to Clang as described in the draft
specification in clang/docs/MatrixSupport.rst. It introduces a new option
-fenable-matrix, which can be used to enable the matrix support.
The patch adds new MatrixType and DependentSizedMatrixType types along
with the plumbing required. Loads of and stores to pointers to matrix
values are lowered to memory operations on 1-D IR arrays. After loading,
the loaded values are cast to a vector. This ensures matrix values use
the alignment of the element type, instead of LLVM's large vector
alignment.
The operators and builtins described in the draft spec will will be added in
follow-up patches.

Summary:
Although using `__builtin_shufflevector` and the `shufflevector`
instruction works fine, they are not opaque to the optimizer. As a
result, DAGCombine can potentially reduce the number of shuffles and
change the shuffle masks. This is unexpected behavior for users of the
WebAssembly SIMD intrinsics who have crafted their shuffles to
optimize the code generated by engines. This patch solves the problem
by adding a new shuffle intrinsic that is opaque to the optimizers in
line with the decision of the WebAssembly SIMD contributors at
https://github.com/WebAssembly/simd/issues/196#issuecomment-622494748. In
the future we may implement custom DAG combines to properly optimize
shuffles and replace this solution.

RecoveryExprs are modeled as dependent type to prevent bogus diagnostics
and crashes in clang.
This patch allows to preseve the type for broken calls when the
RecoveryEprs have a known type, e.g. a broken non-overloaded call, a
overloaded call when the all candidates have the same return type, so
that more features (code completion still work on "take2args(x).^") still
work.
However, adding the type is risky, which may result in more clang code being
affected leading to new crashes and hurt diagnostic, and it requires large
effort to minimize the affect (update all sites in clang to handle errorDepend
case), so we add a new flag (off by default) to allow us to develop/test
them incrementally.
This patch also has some trivial fixes to suppress diagnostics (to prevent regressions).
Tested:
all existing tests are passed (when both "-frecovery-ast", "-frecovery-ast-type" flags are flipped on);

Defaulting to -Xclang -coverage-version='407*' makes .gcno/.gcda
compatible with gcov [4.7,8)
In addition, delete clang::CodeGenOptionsBase::CoverageExtraChecksum and GCOVOptions::UseCfgChecksum.
We can infer the information from the version.
With this change, .gcda files produced by `clang --coverage a.o` linked executable can be read by gcov 4.7~7.
We don't need other -Xclang -coverage* options.
There may be a mismatching version warning, though.
(Note, GCC r173147 "split checksum into cfg checksum and line checksum"
made gcov 4.7 incompatible with previous versions.)
The 'class' or 'struct' keyword is only permitted as part of either an
enum definition or a standalone opaque-enum-declaration, not as part of
an elaborated type specifier. We previously failed to diagnose this, and
generally didn't properly implement the restrictions on elaborated type
specifiers for enumeration types.
In passing, also fixed incorrect parsing for enum-bases, which we
previously parsed as a type-name, but are actually a type-specifier-seq.
This matters for cases like 'enum E : int *p;', which is valid as a
Microsoft extension.
Plus some minor parse diagnostic improvements.
Bumped the recently-added ExtWarn for 'enum E : int x;' to be
DefaultError; this is not an intentional extension, so producing an
error by default seems appropriate, but the warning flag to disable it
may still be useful for code written against old Clang. The same
treatment is given here to the diagnostic for 'enum class E x;', which
we similarly have incorrectly accepted for many years. These diagnostics
continue to be suppressed under -fms-extensions and when compiling
Objective-C code. We will need to decide separately whether Objective-C
should follow the C++ rules or the (older) MSVC rules.
rL144865 incorrectly wrote function names for GCOV_TAG_FUNCTION
(this might be part of the reasons the header says
"We emit files in a corrupt version of GCOV's "gcda" file format").
rL176173 and rL177475 realized the problem and introduced -coverage-no-function-names-in-data
to work around the issue. (However, the description is wrong.
libgcov never writes function names, even before GCC 4.2).
In reality, the linker command line has to look like:
clang --coverage -Xclang -coverage-version='407*' -Xclang -coverage-cfg-checksum -Xclang -coverage-no-function-names-in-data
Failing to pass -coverage-no-function-names-in-data can make gcov 4.7~7
either produce wrong results (for one gcov-4.9 program, I see "No executable lines")
or segfault (gcov-7).
(gcov-8 uses an incompatible format.)
This patch deletes -coverage-no-function-names-in-data and the related
function names support from libclang_rt.profile
Previously we implemented non-standard disambiguation rules to
distinguish an enum-base from a bit-field but otherwise treated a :
after an elaborated-enum-specifier as introducing an enum-base. That
misparses various examples (anywhere an elaborated-type-specifier can
appear followed by a colon, such as within a ternary operator or
_Generic).
We now implement the C++11 rules, with the old cases accepted as
extensions where that seemed reasonable. These amount to:
* an enum-base must always be accompanied by an enum definition (except
in a standalone declaration of the form 'enum E : T;')
* in a member-declaration, 'enum E :' always introduces an enum-base,
never a bit-field
* in a type-specifier (or similar context), 'enum E :' is not
permitted; the colon means whatever else it would mean in that
context.
Fixed underlying types for enums are also permitted in Objective-C and
under MS extensions, plus as a language extension in all other modes.
The behavior in ObjC and MS extensions modes is unchanged (but the
bit-field disambiguation is a bit better); remaining language modes
follow the C++11 rules.
Fixes PR45726, PR39979, PR19810, PR44941, and most of PR24297, plus C++
core issues 1514 and 1966.
Summary:
Since the underlying wait and notify instructions are only available
when the atomics feature is enabled, it only makes sense to expose
their builtin functions when atomics are enabled.

D52774 fixed a bug with typo correction of includes, but didn't add
a test.
D65907 then broke recovery of typo correction of includes again,
because it extracted the code that writes to Filename to a separate
function that took the parameter not by reference.
Fix that, and also don't repeat the slash normalization computation
and fix both lookup and regular file name after recovery.

This is a standalone patch and this would help Propeller do a better job of code
layout as it can accurately attribute the profiles to the right internal linkage
function.
This also helps SampledFDO/AutoFDO correctly associate sampled profiles to the
right internal function. Currently, if there is more than one internal symbol
foo, their profiles are aggregated by SampledFDO.
This patch adds a new clang option, -funique-internal-funcnames, to generate
unique names for functions with internal linkage. This patch appends the md5
hash of the module name to the function symbol as a best effort to generate a
unique name for symbols with internal linkage.

I discovered that when using an aux-target builtin, it was recognized as
a builtin but never checked. This patch checks for an aux-target builtin
and instead validates it against the correct target.
It does this by extracting the checking code for Target-specific
builtins into its own function, then calls with either targetInfo or
AuxTargetInfo.
I discovered that the limit on possible builtins managed by this
ObjCOrBuiltin variable is too low when combining large targets, since
aux-targets are appended to the targets list. A runtime assert exists
for this, however this patch creates a static-assert as well.
The logic for said static-assert is to make sure we have the room for
the aux-target and target to both be the largest list, which makes sure
we have room for all possible combinations.
I also incremented the number of bits by 1, since I discovered this
currently broken. The current bit-count was 36, so this doesn't
increase any size.
