We currently emit incorrect codegen for this constraint because we set it as a
constraint that allows registers. This will cause the value to be copied to the
stack and that address to be passed as the address. This is not what we want.

Fixes PR45753
When a program that contains a loop to which both `omp parallel for`
pragma and `clang loop` pragma are associated is compiled with the
-fopenmp option, `clang loop` pragma did not take effect. The example
below should not be vectorized by the `clang loop` pragma but it was
actually vectorized. The cause is that `llvm.loop.vectorize.width`
was not output to the IR when -fopenmp is specified.
The fix attaches attributes if they exist for the loop.
[example.c]
```
int a[100], b[100];
void foo() {
#pragma omp parallel for
#pragma clang loop vectorize(disable)
for (int i = 0; i < 100; i++)
a[i] += b[i] * i;
}
```
[compile]
```
$ clang -O2 -fopenmp example.c -c -Rpass=vect
example.c:3:11: remark: vectorized loop (vectorization width: 4, interleaved count: 2) [-Rpass=loop-vectorize]
#pragma omp parallel for
^
```
[IR with -fopenmp]
```
$ clang -O2 exmaple.c -S -emit-llvm -mllvm -disable-llvm-optzns -o - -fopenmp | grep 'vectorize\.width'
```
[IR with -fno-openmp]
```
$ clang -O2 example.c -S -emit-llvm -mllvm -disable-llvm-optzns -o - -fno-openmp | grep 'vectorize\.width'
iAs listed in the summary D77846, we have 5 different categories of bugs we're
A non-obvious change I had here is removing the entry for
Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D79967
The patch aims to use CallEvents interface in a more principled manner, and also
to highlight what this checker really does. It in fact checks for 5 different
kinds of errors (from checkPreCall, that is):
* Invalid function pointer related errors
* Call of methods from an invalid C++ this object
* Function calls with incorrect amount of parameters
* Invalid arguments for operator delete
* Pass of uninitialized values to pass-by-value parameters
In a previous patch I complained that this checker is responsible for emitting
a lot of different diagnostics all under core.CallAndMessage's name, and this
patch shows where we could start to assign different diagnostics to different
entities.
Summary:
The following revision follows D80115 since @MyDeveloperDay and I apparently both had the same idea at the same time, for https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45816 and my efforts on tooling support for AMDVLK, respectively.
This option aligns adjacent bitfield separators across lines, in a manner similar to AlignConsecutiveAssignments and friends.
Example:
```
struct RawFloat {
uint32_t sign : 1;
uint32_t exponent : 8;
uint32_t mantissa : 23;
};
```
would become
```
struct RawFloat {
uint32_t sign : 1;
uint32_t exponent : 8;
uint32_t mantissa : 23;
};
```
This also handles c++2a style bitfield-initializers with AlignConsecutiveAssignments.
```
struct RawFloat {
uint32_t sign : 1 = 0;
uint32_t exponent : 8 = 127;
uint32_t mantissa : 23 = 0;
}; // defaults to 1.0f
```
Things this change does not do:
- Align multiple comma-chained bitfield variables. None of the other
AlignConsecutive* options seem to implement that either.
- Detect bitfields that have a width specified with something other
than a numeric literal (ie, `int a : SOME_MACRO;`). That'd be fairly
difficult to parse and is rare.
Exactly what it says on the tin! This is clearly not the end of the road in this
direction, the parameters could be merged far more with the use of CallEvent or
a better value type in the CallDescriptionMap, but this was shockingly difficult
enough on its own. I expect that simplifying the file further will be far easier
moving forward.
The end goal is to research how we could create a more mature checker
interaction infrastructure for more complicated C++ modeling, and I'm pretty
sure that being able successfully split up our giants is the first step in this
direction.
Party based on this thread:
http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/cfe-dev/2020-February/064754.html.
This patch merges two of CXXAllocatorCall's parameters, so that we are able to
supply a CallEvent object to check::NewAllocatorCall (see the description of
D75430 to see why this would be great).
One of the things mentioned by @NoQ was the following:
I think at this point we might actually do a good job sorting out this
check::NewAllocator issue because we have a "separate" "Environment" to hold
the other SVal, which is "objects under construction"! - so we should probably
simply teach CXXAllocatorCall to extract the value from the
objects-under-construction trait of the program state and we're good.
I had MallocChecker in my crosshair for now, so I admittedly threw together
something as a proof of concept. Now that I know that this effort is worth
pursuing though, I'll happily look for a solution better then demonstrated in
this patch.
The following series of patches has something similar in mind with D77474, with
the same goal to finally end incorrect checker names for good. Despite
CallAndMessage not suffering from this particular issue, it is a dependency for
many other checkers, which is problematic, because we don't really want
dependencies to also emit diagnostics (reasoning for this is also more detailed
in D77474).
CallAndMessage also has another problem, namely that it is responsible for a lot
of reports. You'll soon learn that this isn't really easy to solve for
compatibility reasons, but that is the topic of followup patches.
calling getParent() on ObjCIvarDecl will:
1. invoke getDeclContext(), which returns a DeclContext*, which points to an ObjCInterfaceDecl;
The very essence of MallocChecker lies in 2 overload sets: the FreeMemAux
functions and the MallocMemAux functions. The former houses most of the error
checking as well (aside from leaks), such as incorrect deallocation. There, we
check whether the argument's MemSpaceRegion is the heap or unknown, and if it
isn't, we know we encountered a bug (aside from a corner case patched by
@balazske in D76830), as specified by MEM34-C.
In ReallocMemAux, which really is the combination of FreeMemAux and
MallocMemAux, we incorrectly early returned if the memory argument of realloc is
non-symbolic. The problem is, one of the cases where this happens when we know
precisely what the region is, like an array, as demonstrated in the test file.
The "null-pointer-is-valid" attribute needs to be checked by many
pointer-related combines. To make the check more efficient, convert
it from a string into an enum attribute.
In the future, this attribute may be replaced with data layout
properties.
Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D78862
Such a builtin function is mostly useful to preserve btf type id
for non-global data. For example,
extern void foo(..., void *data, int size);
int test(...) {
struct t { int a; int b; int c; } d;
d.a = ...; d.b = ...; d.c = ...;
foo(..., &d, sizeof(d));
}
The function "foo" in the above only see raw data and does not
know what type of the data is. In certain cases, e.g., logging,
the additional type information will help pretty print.
This patch implemented a BPF specific builtin
u32 btf_type_id = __builtin_btf_type_id(param, flag)
which will return a btf type id for the "param".
flag == 0 will indicate a BTF local relocation,
which means btf type_id only adjusted when bpf program BTF changes.
flag == 1 will indicate a BTF remote relocation,
which means btf type_id is adjusted against linux kernel or
future other entities.
Even when BreakBeforeBinaryOperators is set, AlignOperands kept
aligning the beginning of the line, even when it could align the
With this patch, the operands are actually aligned, and the operator
gets aligned with the equal sign:
int aaaaa = bbbbbb
+ cccccc;
This not happen in tests, to avoid 'breaking' the indentation:
Debug entry values functionality provides debug information about
call sites and function parameters values at the call entry spot.
Condition for generating this type of information is
compiling with -g option and optimization level higher
than zero(-O0).
In ISEL phase, while lowering call instructions, collect info
about registers that forward arguments into following
function frame. We store such info into MachineFunction of
the caller function. This is used very late, when dumping DWARF
info about call site parameters.
The call site info is visible at MIR level, as callSites attribute
of MachineFunction. Also, when using unmodified parameter value
inside callee it could be described as DW_OP_entry_value expression.
To deal with callSites attribute, we should pass
-emit-call-site-info option to llc.
This patch enables functionality in clang frontend and adds
call site info generation support for MIPS targets
(mips, mipsel, mips64, mips64el).
to see if the FileEntry is the main file without calling translateFile, but by using the new
isMainFile check instead. This speeds up preamble building by 1.5-2x for certain test cases that we have.
The stub function is generated by compiler and its instructions have nothing
to do with the kernel source code.
Currently clang generates debug info for the stub function, which causes
confusion for the HIP debugger. For example, when users set break point
on a line of a kernel, the debugger should break on that line when the kernel is
executed and reaches that line, but instead the debugger breaks in the stub function.
This patch disables debug info for stub function for HIP.
Summary:
Currently the 'AlignConsecutive*' options incorrectly align across
elif and else statements, even if they are very far away and across
unrelated preprocessor macros.
This failed since on preprocessor run 2+, there is not enough context
about the #ifdefs to actually differentiate one block from another,
causing them to align across different blocks or even large sections of
the file.
Eg, with AlignConsecutiveAssignments:
```
\#if FOO // Run 1
\#else // Run 1
int a = 1; // Run 2, wrong
\#endif // Run 1
\#if FOO // Run 1
\#else // Run 1
int bar = 1; // Run 2
\#endif // Run 1
```
is read as
```
int a = 1; // Run 2, wrong
int bar = 1; // Run 2
```
The approach taken to fix this was to add a new flag to Token that
forces breaking alignment across groups of lines (MustBreakAlignBefore)
in a similar manner to the existing flag that forces a line break
(MustBreakBefore). This flag is set for the first Token after a
preprocessor statement or diff conflict marker.
Sometimes you want to disable a FileCheck directive without removing
it entirely, or you want to write comments that mention a directive by
name. The `COM:` directive makes it easy to do this. For example,
you might have:
```
; X32: pinsrd_1:
; X32: pinsrd $1, 4(%esp), %xmm0
; COM: FIXME: X64 isn't working correctly yet for this part of codegen, but
; COM: X64 will have something similar to X32:
; COM:
; COM: X64: pinsrd_1:
; COM: X64: pinsrd $1, %edi, %xmm0
```
Without this patch, you need to use some combination of rewording and
directive syntax mangling to prevent FileCheck from recognizing the
commented occurrences of `X32:` and `X64:` above as directives.
Moreover, FileCheck diagnostics have been proposed that might complain
about the occurrences of `X64` that don't have the trailing `:`
because they look like directive typos:
<http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-dev/2020-April/140610.html>
I think dodging all these problems can prove tedious for test authors,
and directive syntax mangling already makes the purpose of existing
test code unclear. `COM:` can avoid all these problems.
This patch also updates the small set of existing tests that define
`COM` as a check prefix:
- clang/test/CodeGen/default-address-space.c
- clang/test/CodeGenOpenCL/addr-space-struct-arg.cl
- clang/test/Driver/hip-device-libs.hip
- llvm/test/Assembler/drop-debug-info-nonzero-alloca.ll
I think lit should support `COM:` as well. Perhaps `clang -verify`
should too.
