Jonas Toth cf48101200 [clang-tidy] implement utility-function to add 'const' to variables
Summary:
This patch extends the already existing facility to add 'const' to variables
to be more flexible and correct. The previous version did not consider pointers
as value AND pointee. For future automatic introduction for const-correctness
this shortcoming needs to be fixed.
It always allows configuration where the 'const' token is inserted, either on
the left side (if possible) or the right side.
It adds many unit-tests to the utility-function that did not exist before, as
the function was implicitly tested through clang-tidy checks. These
tests were not changed, as the API is still compatible.

Diego Astiazaran 3550da79ec [clang-doc] Redesign of generated HTML files
The new design includes a header (contains the project name), a main section, and a footer.
The main section is divided into three subsections. Left, middle, right. The left section contains the general index, the middle contains the info's data, and the right contains the index for the info's content.
The CSS has been updated.
A flag --project-name is added.
The Attributes attribute of the TagNode struct is now a vector of pairs because these attributes should be rendered in the insertion order.
The functions (cpp and js) that converts an Index tree structure into HTML were slightly modified; the first ul tag created is now a ol tag. The inner lists are still ul.

Diego Astiazaran 6a29ae4bde [clang-doc] Fix bitcode writer for access specifiers
Bitcode writer was not emitting the corresponding record for the Access attribute of a FunctionInfo. This has been added.
AS_none was being used as the default value for any AcesssSpecifier attribute
(in FunctionInfo and MemberTypeInfo), this has been changed to AS_public
because this is the enum value that evaluates to 0.
The bitcode writer doesn't write values that are 0 so if an attribute
was set to AS_public, this value is not written and after reading the
bitcode it would have the default value which is AS_none. This is why
the default value is now AS_public.

Diego Astiazaran 15e468e0d5 [clang-doc] Fix link generation
Before making a link to a reference it is required to check that the
reference has a path (eg. primitives won't have paths).
This was done by checking if the path was empty; that worked because
when generating paths the outdirectory was included, so if the path was
assigned it had that outdirectory at least.
The path generation was changed, it's now only the composite of the
namespaces without the outdirectory. So if the info is in the global
namespace the path would be empty and the old check wouldn't work as expected.
A new attribute has been added to the Reference struct that indicates if
the info's parent is the global namespace.
Paths generation now fails if the path is empty and if the info
is not in the global namespace.

This moves Bitcode/Bitstream*, Bitcode/BitCodes.h to Bitstream/.

This is needed to avoid a circular dependency when using the bitstream

Since Bitcode uses Core for the IR part:

libLLVMRemarks -> Bitcode -> Core

and Core uses libLLVMRemarks to generate remarks (see
IR/RemarkStreamer.cpp):

Core -> libLLVMRemarks

we need to separate the Bitstream and Bitcode part.

For clang-doc, it seems that it doesn't need the whole bitcode layer, so

Yitzhak Mandelbaum 5b33554319 [clang-tidy] In TransformerClangTidyCheck, require Explanation field.
Summary:
In general, the `Explanation` field is optional in `RewriteRule` cases. But,
because the primary purpose of clang-tidy checks is to provide users with
diagnostics, we assume that a missing explanation is a bug. This change adds an
assertion that checks all cases for an explanation, and updates the code to rely
on that assertion correspondingly.

This revision introduces an adaptor from Transformer's rewrite rules
(`clang::tooling::RewriteRule`) to `ClangTidyCheck`.  For example, given a
RewriteRule `MyCheckAsRewriteRule`, it lets one define a tidy check as follows:

```
class MyTidyCheck : public TransformerClangTidyCheck {
 public:
  MyTidyCheck(StringRef Name, ClangTidyContext *Context)
      : TransformerClangTidyCheck(MyCheckAsRewriteRule, Name, Context) {}
The changes made by rename_check.py are idempotent, so if accidentally
Sam McCall b804eef090 [clangd] Move clangd tests to clangd directory. check-clangd is no longer part of check-clang-tools.
Summary:
Motivation:
 - this layout is a pain to work with
 - without a common root, it's painful to express things like "disable clangd" (D61122)
 - CMake/lit configs are a maintenance hazard, and the more the one-off hacks
   for various tools are entangled, the more we see apathy and non-ownership.
This attempts to use the bare-minimum configuration needed (while still
supporting the difficult cases: windows, standalone clang build, dynamic libs).
In particular the lit.cfg.py and lit.site.cfg.py.in are merged into lit.cfg.in.
The logic in these files is now minimal.
(Much of clang-tools-extra's lit configs can probably be cleaned up by reusing
lit.llvm.llvm_config.use_clang(), and every llvm project does its own version of
LDPATH mangling. I haven't attempted to fix any of those).
Docs are still in clang-tools-extra/docs, I don't have any plans to touch those.
Haojian Wu f2879d8a48 [clang-tidy] Add fix descriptions to clang-tidy checks.
Summary:
Motivation/Context: in the code review system integrating with clang-tidy,
clang-tidy doesn't provide a human-readable description of the fix. Usually
developers have to preview a code diff (before vs after apply the fix) to
understand what the fix does before applying a fix.
This patch proposes that each clang-tidy check provides a short and
actional fix description that can be shown in the UI, so that users can know
what the fix does without previewing diff.
This patch extends clang-tidy framework to support fix descriptions (will add implementations for
existing checks in the future). Fix descriptions and fixes are emitted via diagnostic::Note (rather than
attaching the main warning diagnostic).
Before this patch:
```
void MyCheck::check(...) {
   ...
   diag(loc, "my check warning") <<  FixtItHint::CreateReplacement(...);
}
```
After:
```
void MyCheck::check(...) {
   ...
   diag(loc, "my check warning"); // Emit a check warning
   diag(loc, "fix description", DiagnosticIDs::Note) << FixtItHint::CreateReplacement(...); // Emit a diagnostic note and a fix
}

Sam McCall 62e2472321 [clangd] Include insertion: require header guards, drop other heuristics, treat .def like .inc.
Summary:
We do have some reports of include insertion behaving badly in some
codebases. Requiring header guards both makes sense in principle, and is
likely to disable this "nice-to-have" feature in codebases where headers don't
follow the expected pattern.

With this we can drop some other heuristics, such as looking at file
extensions to detect known non-headers - implementation files have no guards.

One wrinkle here is #import - objc headers may not have guards because
they're intended to be used via #import. If the header is the main file
or is #included, we won't collect locations - merge should take care of
this if we see the file #imported somewhere. Seems likely to be OK.

Headers which have a canonicalization (stdlib, IWYU) are exempt from this check.
*.inc files continue to be handled by looking up to the including file.
This patch also adds *.def here - tablegen wants this pattern too.

In terms of code structure, the division between SymbolCollector and
CanonicalIncludes has shifted: SymbolCollector is responsible for more.
This is because SymbolCollector has all the SourceManager/HeaderSearch access
needed for checking for guards, and we interleave these checks with the *.def
checks in a loop (potentially).
We could hand all the info into CanonicalIncludes and put the logic there
if that's preferable.

Summary:
To reduce the gap between prefix and initialism matches.

The motivation is producing better scoring in one particular example,
but the change does not seem to cause large regressions in other cases.

The examples is matching 'up' against 'unique_ptr' and 'upper_bound'.
Before the change, we had:
  - "[u]nique_[p]tr" with a score of 0.3,
  - "[up]per_bound" with a score of 1.0.

A 3x difference meant that symbol quality signals were almost always ignored
and 'upper_bound' was always ranked higher.

However, intuitively, the match scores should be very close for the two.

After the change we have the following scores:
- "[u]nique_[p]tr" with a score of 0.75,
- "[up]per_bound" with a score of 1.0.

Summary:
As can be seen in https://github.com/llvm-mirror/clang/blob/master/lib/Tooling/Tooling.cpp#L385
clang tool invocations adjust commands normally like this. In clangd we have
different code paths for invoking a frontend action(preamble builds, ast builds,
background index, clangd-indexer) they all work on the same GlobalCompilationDatabase
abstraction, but later on are subject to different modifications.

This patch makes sure all of the clangd actions make use of the same compile
commands before invocation.

Enables background-index to work on chromium codebase(since they had dependency
file output in their compile commands).

Sam McCall 3186e3ceb8 [clangd] Lib to compute and represent selection under cursor.
Summary:
The primary problem this solves is to expose the codeAction selection to
AST-based refactorings in a way that makes it easy and efficient for them to
bind to the right parts of the AST.

It should also allow us to make XRefs based features (textDocument/definition)
more robust, more easily implement textDocument/typeDefinition etc.
As an example, template parameter references can be identified without special
handling.
There should be slight speedup too: we can prune most of the AST traversal
in most cases.

Elephant in the room: this is similar-but-different to Tooling/Refactoring/ASTSelection.
That captures a smaller set of AST nodes, has a slightly different way of
representing selections, and generally has mare features and does more work.
The overall shape is pretty similar, and yet I can't quite get to behave as I
expect.

Sam McCall 866ba2c924 [clangd] Implement textDocument/declaration from LSP 3.14
Summary:
LSP now reflects the declaration/definition distinction.

Language server changes:
 - textDocument/definition now returns a definition if one is found, otherwise
   the declaration. It no longer returns declaration + definition if they are
   distinct.
 - textDocument/declaration returns the best declaration we can find.
 - For macros, the active macro definition is returned for both methods.
 - For include directive, the top of the target file is returned for both.
There doesn't appear to be a discovery mechanism (we can't return everything to
clients that only know about definition), so this changes existing behavior.
In practice, it should greatly reduce the fraction of the time we need to show
the user a menu of options.

C++ API changes:
 - findDefinitions is replaced by locateSymbolAt, which returns a
   vector<LocatedSymbol> - one for each symbol under the cursor.
 - this contains the preferred declaration, the definition (if found), and
   the symbol name
This API enables some potentially-neat extensions, like swapping between decl
and def, and exposing the symbol name to the UI in the case of multiple symbols.
