John Brawn 5ca5daa6b9 [AArch64] Fix handling of zero immediate in fmov instructions
Currently fmov #0 with a vector destination is handle incorrectly and results in
fmov #-1.9375 being emitted but should instead give an error. This is due to the
way we cope with fmov #0 with a scalar destination being an alias of fmov zr, so
fix this by actually doing it through an alias.

John Brawn dcf037a6f0 [AArch64] Fix handling of integer fp immediates
When an integer is used as an fp immediate we're failing to check the return

Amara Emerson fecdb36f92 [AArch64][TableGen] Skip tied result operands for InstAlias
This patch checks the number of operands in the resulting
instruction instead of just the alias, then skips over
tied operands when generating the printing method.

This allows us to generate the preferred assembly syntax
for the AArch64 'ins' instruction, which should always be
displayed as 'mov' according to the ARMARM.

Several unit tests have changed as a result, but only to
reflect the preferred disassembly.

Some other InstAlias patterns (movk/bic/orr) needed a
slight adjustment to stop them becoming the default
and breaking other unit tests.

Rafael Espindola 13a79bbfe5 Change how we handle section symbols on ELF.
On ELF every section can have a corresponding section symbol. When in
an assembly file we have

.quad .text

the '.text' refers to that symbol.

The way we used to handle them is to leave .text an undefined symbol
until the very end when the object writer would map them to the
actual section symbol.

The problem with that is that anything before the end would see an
undefined symbol. This could result in bad diagnostics
(test/MC/AArch64/label-arithmetic-diags-elf.s), or incorrect results
when using the asm streamer (est/MC/Mips/expansion-jal-sym-pic.s).

Fixing this will also allow using the section symbol earlier for
setting sh_link of SHF_METADATA sections.

This patch includes a few hacks to avoid changing our behaviour when
handling conflicts between section symbols and other symbols. I
reported pr31850 to track that.

Oliver Stannard 268f42f1ce [Assembler] Better error messages for .org directive
Currently, the error messages we emit for the .org directive when the
expression is not absolute or is out of range do not include the line
number of the directive, so it can be hard to track down the problem if
a file contains many .org directives.

This patch stores the source location in the MCOrgFragment, so that it
can be used for diagnostics emitted during layout.

Since layout is an iterative process, and the errors are detected during
each iteration, it would have been possible for errors to be reported
multiple times. To prevent this, I've made the assembler bail out after
each iteration if any errors have been reported. This will still allow
multiple unrelated errors to be reported in the common case where they
are all detected in the first round of layout.

Nirav Dave 2364748a49 Defer asm errors to post-statement failure
Recommitting after fixing AsmParser initialization and X86 inline asm
error cleanup.

Allow errors to be deferred and emitted as part of clean up to simplify
and shorten Assembly parser code. This will allow error messages to be
emitted in helper functions and be modified by the caller which has
better context.

As part of this many minor cleanups to the Parser:

* Unify parser cleanup on error
* Add Workaround for incorrect return values in ParseDirective instances
* Tighten checks on error-signifying return values for parser functions
and fix in-tree TargetParsers to be more consistent with the changes.
* Fix AArch64 test cases checking for spurious error messages that are

These changes should be backwards compatible with current Target Parsers

Tim Northover e6ae6767d9 AArch64: TableGenerate system instruction operands.
The way the named arguments for various system instructions are handled at the
moment has a few problems:

  - Large-scale duplication between AArch64BaseInfo.h and AArch64BaseInfo.cpp
  - That weird Mapping class that I have no idea what I was on when I thought
    it was a good idea.
  - Searches are performed linearly through the entire list.
  - We print absolutely all registers in upper-case, even though some are
canonically mixed case (SPSel for example).
  - The ARM ARM specifies sysregs in terms of 5 fields, but those are relegated
to comments in our implementation, with a slightly opaque hex value
indicating the canonical encoding LLVM will use.

This adds a new TableGen backend to produce efficiently searchable tables, and
switches AArch64 over to using that infrastructure.

Rafael Espindola b718237dfc Accept subtractions involving a weak symbol.
When a symbol S shows up in an expression in assembly there are two
possible interpretations
* The expression is referring to the value of S in this file.
* The expression is referring to the value after symbol resolution.

In the first case the assembler can reason about the value and try to
produce a relocation.
In the second case, that is only possible if the symbol cannot be
preempted.

Assemblers are not very consistent about which interpretation gets used.
This changes MC to agree with GAS in the case of an expression of the

floating-point instructions. This is an optional extension, so all of
these instructions require the FeatureFullFP16 subtarget feature.

Most of these instructions are the same as the 32- and 64-bit versions,
but with the type field (bits 23-22) set to 0b11. Previously the top bit
of the size field was always 0, so the instruction classes only provided
a 1-bit size field, which I have widened to 2 bits.

Oliver Stannard 9be59af3ab [Assembler] Make fatal assembler errors non-fatal
Currently, if the assembler encounters an error after parsing (such as an
out-of-range fixup), it reports this as a fatal error, and so stops after the
first error. However, for most of these there is an obvious way to recover
after emitting the error, such as emitting the fixup with a value of zero. This
means that we can report on all of the errors in a file, not just the first
one. MCContext::reportError records the fact that an error was encountered, so
we won't actually emit an object file with the incorrect contents.

In a relocation target can take 3 basic forms

* A r_value in scattered relocations.
* A symbol in external relocations.
* A section is non-external relocations.

Have the dump reflect that. With this change we go from

CHECK-NEXT: Extern: 0
CHECK-NEXT: Type: X86_64_RELOC_SUBTRACTOR (5)
CHECK-NEXT: Symbol: 0x2
CHECK-NEXT: Scattered: 0

To just

// CHECK-NEXT:       Type: X86_64_RELOC_SUBTRACTOR (5)
// CHECK-NEXT:       Section: __data (2)

Since the relocation is with a section, we print the seciton name and don't
need to say that it is not scattered or external.

ARM64_RELOC_ADDEND and ARM_RELOC_PAIR.

R_AARCH64_NONE has been defined to be zero for a long time elsewhere

2. R_AARCH64_TLSDESC_ADR_PAGE renamed to R_AARCH64_TLSDESC_ADR_PAGE21

The A64 instruction set includes a generic register syntax for accessing

The encoding space permitted for implementation-defined system registers
is:
    op0 op1 CRn CRm op2
    11 xxx 1x11 xxxx xxx

The full encoding space can now be accessed:
    op0 op1 CRn CRm op2

This is useful to anyone needing to write assembly code supporting new

Artyom Skrobov 6c8682e2e9 Condition codes AL and NV are invalid in the aliases that use
inverted condition codes (CINC, CINV, CNEG, CSET, and CSETM).

Matching aliases based on "immediate classes", when disassembling,
wasn't previously supported, hence adding MCOperandPredicate
into class Operand, and implementing the support for it
in AsmWriterEmitter.

The parsing for those aliases was already custom, so just adding
the missing condition into AArch64AsmParser::parseCondCode.

Tim Northover 3b0846e8f7 AArch64/ARM64: move ARM64 into AArch64's place
This commit starts with a "git mv ARM64 AArch64" and continues out
from there, renaming the C++ classes, intrinsics, and other
target-local objects for consistency.

"ARM64" test directories are also moved, and tests that began their
life in ARM64 use an arm64 triple, those from AArch64 use an aarch64
triple. Both should be equivalent though.

This finishes the AArch64 merge, and everyone should feel free to
continue committing as normal now.

Tim Northover cc08e1fe1b AArch64/ARM64: remove AArch64 from tree prior to renaming ARM64.
I'm doing this in two phases for a better "git blame" record. This
commit removes the previous AArch64 backend and redirects all
functionality to ARM64. It also deduplicates test-lines and removes
orphaned AArch64 tests.

The next step will be "git mv ARM64 AArch64" and rewire most of the
tests.

Hopefully LLVM is still functional, though it would be even better if
no-one ever had to care because the rename happens straight
afterwards.

Tim Northover c350acfda5 ARM64: separate load/store operands to simplify assembler
This changes ARM64 to use separate operands for each component of an
address, and look for separate '[', '$Rn, ..., ']' tokens when
parsing.

This allows us to do away with quite a bit of special C++ code to
handle monolithic "addressing modes" in the MC components. The more
incremental matching of the assembler operands also allows for better
diagnostics when LLVM is presented with invalid input.

Most of the complexity here is with the register-offset instructions,
which were extremely dodgy beforehand: even when the instruction used
wM, LLVM's model had xM as an operand. We papered over this
discrepancy before, but that approach doesn't work now so I split them
into separate X and W variants.

Tim Northover 9a24f88a37 TableGen: convert InstAlias's Emit bit to an int.
When multiple aliases overlap, the correct string to print can often be
determined purely by considering the InstAlias declarations in some particular
order. This allows the user to specify that order manually when desired,
without resorting to hacking around with the default lexicographical order on
Record instantiation, which is error-prone and ugly.

I was also mistaken about "add w2, w3, w4" being the same as "add w2, w3, w4,
uxtw". That's only true if Rn is the stack pointer.

Tim Northover 5896b066e6 TableGen: fix operand counting for aliases
TableGen has a fairly dubious heuristic to decide whether an alias should be
printed: does the alias have lest operands than the real instruction. This is
bad enough (particularly with no way to override it), but it should at least be
calculated consistently for both strings.

This patch implements that logic: first get the *correct* string for the
variant, in the same way as the Matcher, without guessing; then count the
number of whitespace chars.

There are basically 4 changes this brings about after the previous
commits; all of these appear to be good, so I have changed the tests:

+ ARM64: we print "neg X, Y" instead of "sub X, xzr, Y".
+ ARM64: we skip implicit "uxtx" and "uxtw" modifiers.
+ Sparc: we print "mov A, B" instead of "or %g0, A, B".
+ Sparc: we print "fcmpX A, B" instead of "fcmpX %fcc0, A, B"

Tim Northover 2509a3fc64 ARM64: print correct aliases for NEON mov & mvn instructions
In all cases, if a "mov" alias exists, it is the canonical form of the
instruction. Now that TableGen can support aliases containing syntax variants,
we can enable them and improve the quality of the asm output.

Obviously we can't expect the two backends to produce identical diagnostics,
since what's possible depends quite a bit on how the .td files are structured.
I think the ARM64 diagnostics are basically of the same quality in all the
changed cases, so I've split the CHECK lines.

Hans Wennborg 83e6e1e926 ELFObjectWriter: deduplicate suffices in strtab
We already do this for shstrtab, so might as well do it for strtab. This
extracts the string table building code into a separate class. The idea
is to use it for other object formats too.

I mostly wanted to do this for the general principle, but it does save a
little bit on object file size. I tried this on a clang bootstrap and
saved 0.54% on the sum of object file sizes (1.14 MB out of 212 MB for
a release build).

It's been decided that in the future, the floating-point immediate in

has been implemented on AArch64 already but not ARM64.
