Philip Reames 74671d5c14 Sink first bit of functionality from Statepoint to GCStatepointInst
Starting with the obvious stuff. I initially tried to include the inline operand sequences too, but managed to get code which confused *me*. Since several parts of those are being entirely removed in the near future, I may defer that portion until the cleanup is done.

Philip Reames c94c5bf9cc Introduce a GCStatepointInst type analogous to IntrinsicInst subclasses
Back when we had CallSite, we implemented the current Statepoint/ImmutableStatepoint structure in analogous manner. Now that CallSite has been removed, the structure used for statepoints looks decidely out of place. gc.statepoint is one of the small handful of intrinsics which are invokable. Because of this, it can't subclass IntrinsicInst as is idiomatic.

This change simply introduces the GCStatepointInst class, restructures the existing Statepoint/ImmutableStatepoint types to wrap it. I will be landing a series of changes to sink functionality into GCStatepointInst and updating callers to be more idiomatic.

Michael Liao 03481287ca Refactor argument attribute specification in intrinsic definition. NFC.
- Argument attribute needs specifiying through `ArgIndex<n>`
  (corresponding to `FirstArgIndex`) to distinguish explicitly from the
  index number from the overloaded type list.
- In addition, `RetIndex` (corresponding to `ReturnIndex`) and
  `FuncIndex` (corresponding to `FunctionIndex`) are introduced for us

Rithik Sharma eadf295956 [CodeMoverUtils] Use dominator tree level to decide the direction of
code motion

Summary: Currently isSafeToMoveBefore uses DFS numbering for determining
the relative position of instruction and insert point which is not
always correct. This PR proposes the use of Dominator Tree depth for the
same. If a node is at a higher level than the insert point then it is
safe to say that we want to move in the forward direction.

Bardia Mahjour 0d20ed664f [DDG] Data Dependence Graph - Add query function for memory dependencies between two nodes
Summary:
When working with the DDG it's useful to be able to query details of the
memory dependencies between two nodes connected by a memory edge. The DDG
does not hold a copy of the dependencies, but it contains a reference to a

This patch adds a query function to the DDG to obtain all the Dependence

serge-sans-paille de02a75e39 [PGO] Fix computation of function Hash
And bump its version number accordingly.

This is a patched recommit of 7c298c104b

Previous hash implementation was incorrectly passing an uint64_t, that got converted
to an uint8_t, to finalize the hash computation. This led to different functions
having the same hash if they only differ by the remaining statements, which is
incorrect.

Added a new test case that trivially tests that a small function change is
reflected in the hash value.

Not that as this patch fixes the hash computation, it would invalidate all hashes
computed before that patch applies, this is why we bumped the version number.

Update profile data hash entries due to hash function update, except for binary
version, in which case we keep the buggy behavior for backward compatibility.

Matt Arsenault 8bc03d2168 GlobalISel: Merge G_PTR_MASK with llvm.ptrmask intrinsic
Confusingly, these were unrelated and had different semantics. The
G_PTR_MASK instruction predates the llvm.ptrmask intrinsic, but has a
different format. G_PTR_MASK only allows clearing the low bits of a
pointer, and only a constant number of bits. The ptrmask intrinsic
allows an arbitrary mask. Replace G_PTR_MASK to match the intrinsic.

Only selects the cases that look like the old instruction. More work
is needed to select the general case. Also new legalization code is
still needed to deal with the case where the incoming mask size does
not match the pointer size, which has a specified behavior in the
langref.

test changes, I doubt that this is an NFC...

With the two getIntrinsicInstrCosts folded into one, now fold in the
scalar/code-size orientated getIntrinsicCost. The remaining scalar
intrinsics were memcpy, cttz and ctlz which now have special handling
in the BasicTTI implementation.

This had required a change in the AMDGPU backend for fabs as it
should always be 'free'. I've also changed the X86 backend to return
the BaseT implementation when the CostKind isn't RecipThroughput.

Fangrui Song 9d55e4ee13 Make explicit -fno-semantic-interposition (in -fpic mode) infer dso_local
-fno-semantic-interposition is currently the CC1 default. (The opposite
disables some interprocedural optimizations.) However, it does not infer
dso_local: on most targets accesses to ExternalLinkage functions/variables
defined in the current module still need PLT/GOT.

This patch makes explicit -fno-semantic-interposition infer dso_local,
so that PLT/GOT can be eliminated if targets implement local aliases
for AsmPrinter::getSymbolPreferLocal (currently only x86).

Currently we check whether the module flag "SemanticInterposition" is 0.
If yes, infer dso_local. In the future, we can infer dso_local unless
"SemanticInterposition" is 1: frontends other than clang will also
benefit from the optimization if they don't bother setting the flag.
(There will be risks if they do want ELF interposition: they need to set
"SemanticInterposition" to 1.)

Craig Topper 7392820f98 [Align] Remove operations on MaybeAlign that asserted that it had a defined value.
If the caller needs to reponsible for making sure the MaybeAlign
has a value, then we should just make the caller convert it to an Align
with operator*.

I explicitly deleted the relational comparison operators that
were being inherited from Optional. It's unclear what the meaning
of two MaybeAligns were one is defined and the other isn't
should be. So make the caller reponsible for defining the behavior.

I left the ==/!= operators from Optional. But now that exposed a
weird quirk that ==/!= between Align and MaybeAlign required the
MaybeAlign to be defined. But now we use the operator== from
Optional that takes an Optional and the Value.

(This patch is by Jessica, I'm just committing it on her behalf because I need
a post-legalizer combiner for something else).

This supersedes D77250, which did equivalent work in the selector. This can be
done pre-legalization or post-legalization. Post-legalization is more likely to
hit, since G_IMPLICIT_DEFs tend to appear during legalization. There's no reason
to not do it pre-legalization though-- if it can be caught earlier, great.

(I also think that it might be worth reimplementing D78769 using a
target-specific post-legalization combine too after thinking about it for a
while.)

Tim Renouf db16eb33ce [MsgPack] Added convenience assignment to MsgPackDocument
This commit increases the convenience of using the MsgPackDocument API,
especially when creating a document for writing out.

It adds direct assignment of bool, integer and string types to a
DocNode, as long as that DocNode is already inside a document, e.g. the
result of a map lookup. It also adds map lookup given an integer type
(it already had that for string).

So, to assign a string to a map element whose key is an int, you can
now write
  MyMap[42] = "towel";
instead of
  MyMap[MyMap.getDocument()->getNode(42)] =
      MyMap.getDocument()->getNode("towel");

Also added MapDocNode::erase methods.

Sam Parker de71def3f5 [CostModel] Unify Intrinsic Costs.
With the two getIntrinsicInstrCosts folded into one, now fold in the
scalar/code-size orientated getIntrinsicCost. This involved sinking
cost of the TTIImpl into the base implementation, as it performs no
target checks. The opcodes remaining were memcpy, cttz and ctlz which
now have special handling in the BasicTTI implementation.
getInstructionThroughput can now directly return the result of
getUserCost.

This had required a change in the AMDGPU backend for fabs and its
always 'free'. I've also changed the X86 backend to return '1' for
any intrinsic when the CostKind isn't RecipThroughput.

Though this intended to be a non-functional change, there are many
paths being combined here so I would be very surprised if this didn't
have an effect.

Juneyoung Lee d9a4a24413 Add CanonicalizeFreezeInLoops pass
Summary:
If an induction variable is frozen and used, SCEV yields imprecise result
because it doesn't say anything about frozen variables.

Due to this reason, performance degradation happened after
https://reviews.llvm.org/D76483 is merged, causing
SCEV yield imprecise result and preventing LSR to optimize a loop.

The suggested solution here is to add a pass which canonicalizes frozen variables
inside a loop. To be specific, it pushes freezes out of the loop by freezing
the initial value and step values instead & dropping nsw/nuw flags from instructions used by freeze.
This solution was also mentioned at https://reviews.llvm.org/D70623 .

If we don't know anything about the alignment of a pointer, Align(1) is
still correct: all pointers are at least 1-byte aligned.

Included in this patch is a bugfix for an issue discovered during this
cleanup: pointers with "dereferenceable" attributes/metadata were
assumed to be aligned according to the type of the pointer. This
wasn't intentional, as far as I can tell, so Loads.cpp was fixed to
stop making this assumption. Frontends may need to be updated. I

Arthur Eubanks 8a88755610 Reland [X86] Codegen for preallocated
See https://reviews.llvm.org/D74651 for the preallocated IR constructs
and LangRef changes.

In X86TargetLowering::LowerCall(), if a call is preallocated, record
each argument's offset from the stack pointer and the total stack
adjustment. Associate the call Value with an integer index. Store the
info in X86MachineFunctionInfo with the integer index as the key.

This adds two new target independent ISDOpcodes and two new target
dependent Opcodes corresponding to @llvm.call.preallocated.{setup,arg}.

The setup ISelDAG node takes in a chain and outputs a chain and a
SrcValue of the preallocated call Value. It is lowered to a target
dependent node with the SrcValue replaced with the integer index key by
looking in X86MachineFunctionInfo. In
X86TargetLowering::EmitInstrWithCustomInserter() this is lowered to an
%esp adjustment, the exact amount determined by looking in
X86MachineFunctionInfo with the integer index key.

The arg ISelDAG node takes in a chain, a SrcValue of the preallocated
call Value, and the arg index int constant. It produces a chain and the
pointer fo the arg. It is lowered to a target dependent node with the
SrcValue replaced with the integer index key by looking in
X86MachineFunctionInfo. In
X86TargetLowering::EmitInstrWithCustomInserter() this is lowered to a
lea of the stack pointer plus an offset determined by looking in
X86MachineFunctionInfo with the integer index key.

Force any function containing a preallocated call to use the frame
pointer.

Does not yet handle a setup without a call, or a conditional call.
Does not yet handle musttail. That requires a LangRef change first.

Tried to look at all references to inalloca and see if they apply to
preallocated. I've made preallocated versions of tests testing inalloca
whenever possible and when they make sense (e.g. not alloca related,
inalloca edge cases).

Aside from the tests added here, I checked that this codegen produces
correct code for something like

```
struct A {
        A();
        A(A&&);
        ~A();
};
void bar() {
        foo(foo(foo(foo(foo(A(), 4), 5), 6), 7), 8);
}
```

by replacing the inalloca version of the .ll file with the appropriate
preallocated code. Running the executable produces the same results as
using the current inalloca implementation.

Don't explicitly include ilist_node.h + simple_ilist.h - we already include ilist.h that include these for us and all references are in terms of that.

The rest can be covered by forward declarations.

Georgii Rymar e2b134b01a [yaml2obj] - Stop using square brackets for unique suffixes.
For describing section/symbol names we can use unique suffixes,
e.g:

```
- Name: '.foo [1]`
- Name: '.foo [2]`
```

It can be a problem (see https://reviews.llvm.org/D79984#inline-734829),
because `[]` are sometimes used to describe a macros:

```
- Name: "[[a0]]"
```

Seems the better approach is to use something else, like "()".
This patch does it and refactors the code related.

The patch changes dumping of unit_length, debug_info_offset, and
debug_info_length fields in headers in .debug_pubname and
.debug_pubtypes sections so that they are printed as 16-digit hex values
if the contribution is in the DWARF64 format. Dumping of offsets in the

serge-sans-paille ab1fb38d8f Reorder Type fields to make various isa< > check more concise
Depending on the order of fields, some isa < > checks can be faster because of
tests that check a range of type, leading to assembly simplification.

To find a relevant ordering, I... brute-forced the permutation among the derived
types and pick the combination that resulted in the smallest libLLVM-11.so.

On my laptop (x86_64), this reduces the size of libLLVM-11.so from 127344064 bytes to 127335336,
that's 8728 bytes shaved without much effort.

Also removed obsolete comments in the process.

Clement Courbet 521b216094 [TargetLibraryInfo] memcpy and memset have optimized codegen.
Summary:
Add memcpy and memset to the list of function with optimized codegen.
hasOptimizedCodeGen() was returning false for them.
This was not an issue when working with c++ as clang typically emits an
intrinsic rather than a libfunc call, but when working with IR,
this would cause some issues with sanitizers which would not correctly
mark the function as nobuiltin in `maybeMarkSanitizerLibraryCallNoBuiltin()`.

This is an old issue which has just started biting our downstream after
