Summary:
Currently these function return the raw content of the appropriate table
header, which means they are relative to the DW_AT_{loc,rng}list_base,
and one has to relocate them in order to do anything.
This changes the functions to perform the relocation themselves, which
seems more clearer, particularly as they are sitting right next to the
find{Rng,Loc}listFromOffset functions, but one *cannot* simply take the
result of these functions and take pass them there.
The only effect of this patch is to change what value is dumped for the
DW_AT_ranges attribute, which I think is for the better, as previously
the values appeared to point into thin air.
(The main reason I am looking at this is because I was trying to
implement equivalent functionality in lldb's DWARFUnit, and was stumped
by this behavior.

This patch removes the magic "main" JITDylib from ExecutionEngine. The main
JITDylib was created automatically at ExecutionSession construction time, and
all subsequently created JITDylibs were added to the main JITDylib's
links-against list by default. This saves a couple of lines of boilerplate for
simple JIT setups, but this isn't worth introducing magical behavior for.
ORCv2 clients should now construct their own main JITDylib using
ExecutionSession::createJITDylib and set up its linkages manually using
JITDylib::setSearchOrder (or related methods in JITDylib).
This patch adds forward iterators mc_difflist_iterator,
mc_subreg_iterator and mc_superreg_iterator, based on the existing
DiffListIterator. Those are used to provide iterator ranges over
sub- and super-register from TRI, which are slightly more convenient
than the existing MCSubRegIterator/MCSuperRegIterator. Unfortunately,
it duplicates a bit of functionality, but the new iterators are a bit
more convenient (and can be used with various existing iterator
utilities) and should probably replace the old iterators in the future.
This patch updates some existing users.

This patch turns MachineOperandIteratorBase into a regular forward
iterator, which can be used with iterator_range.
It also adds mi_bundle_ops and const_mi_bundle_ops that return iterator
ranges over all operands in a bundle and updates a use of the old
iterator.

Build ID is a protocol for looking up debug files that's already
supported by various tools including debuggers. For example, when
locating debug files, gdb would check the following directories:
- /usr/lib/debug/.build-id/ab/cdef1234.debug
- /usr/bin/ls.debug
- /usr/bin/.debug/ls.debug
- /usr/lib/debug/usr/bin/ls.debug
llvm-symbolizer currently consults all of these except for build ID
based one. This patch implements support for build ID lookup. The
set of debug directories to search is specified by the new option:
--debug-file-directory, whose name matches the debug-file-directory
variable used by gdb for the same purpose.

The validity of a VFShape can be checked with the
`hasValidParameterList` method, which is also run in an assertion each
time a VFShape is modified.
The field VFISAKind has been moved to VFInfo under the assumption that

of vector extensions with the same registers size, for example AVX and
AVX2).

Revise the coverage mapping format to reduce binary size by:
1. Naming function records and marking them `linkonce_odr`, and
2. Compressing filenames.
This shrinks the size of llc's coverage segment by 82% (334MB -> 62MB)
and speeds up end-to-end single-threaded report generation by 10%. For
reference the compressed name data in llc is 81MB (__llvm_prf_names).
Rationale for changes to the format:
- With the current format, most coverage function records are discarded.
E.g., more than 97% of the records in llc are *duplicate* placeholders
for functions visible-but-not-used in TUs. Placeholders *are* used to
show under-covered functions, but duplicate placeholders waste space.
- We reached general consensus about giving (1) a try at the 2017 code
coverage BoF [1]. The thinking was that using `linkonce_odr` to merge
duplicates is simpler than alternatives like teaching build systems
about a coverage-aware database/module/etc on the side.
- Revising the format is expensive due to the backwards compatibility
requirement, so we might as well compress filenames while we're at it.
This shrinks the encoded filenames in llc by 86% (12MB -> 1.6MB).

When basic blocks are killed, either due to being empty or to being an if.then
or if.else block whose complement contains identical instructions, some of the
debug intrinsics in that block are lost. This patch sinks those intrinsics
into the single successor block, setting them Undef if necessary to
prevent debug info from falling out-of-date.

We already have Symbols property to list regular symbols and
it is currently Optional<>. This patch makes DynamicSymbols to be optional
too. With this there is no need to define a dummy symbol anymore to trigger
creation of the .dynsym and it is now possible to define an empty .dynsym using
just the following line:
DynamicSymbols: []
(it is important to have when you do not want to have dynamic symbols,
but want to have a .dynsym)
Now the code is consistent and it helped to fix a bug: previously we
did not report an error when both Content/Size and an empty
Symbols/DynamicSymbols list were specified.

Constructor invocations such as `APFloat(APFloat::IEEEdouble(), 0.0)`
may seem like they accept a FP (floating point) value, but the overload
they reach is actually the `integerPart` one, not a `float` or `double`
overload (which only exists when `fltSemantics` isn't passed).
This may lead to possible loss of data, by the conversion from `float`
or `double` to `integerPart`.
To prevent future mistakes, a new constructor overload, which accepts
any FP value and marked with `delete`, to prevent its usage.

This adds a hook to allow targets to define exactly what extension
operation should be performed for widening constants. This handles cases
like widening i1 true which would end up becoming -1 which affects code
quality during combines.
Additionally, in order to stay consistent with how DAG is promoting
constants, we now signextend for byte sized types and zero extend
otherwise (by default). Targets can of course override this if
necessary.
As it can be seen from accompanying cleanup, it is not unheard of
to write `~Known.Zero` meaning "what maximal value can this KnownBits
produce". But i think `~Known.Zero` isn't *that* self-explanatory,
as compared to a method with a name.
Note that not all `~Known.Zero` places were cleaned up,
only those where this arguably improves things.
This patch adds intrinsics for SVE gather loads from memory addresses generated by a vector base plus immediate index:
* @llvm.aarch64.sve.ld1.gather.imm
This intrinsics maps 1-1 to the corresponding SVE instruction (example for half-words):

The DebugVariable class is a class declared in LiveDebugValues.cpp which
is used to uniquely identify a single variable, using its source
variable, inline location, and fragment info to do so. This patch moves
this class into DebugInfoMetadata.h, making it available in a much
broader scope.

and re-delivers the reverted patch.
In this patch the DDG DAG is sorted topologically to put the
nodes in the graph in the order that would satisfy all
dependencies. This helps transformations that would like to
generate code based on the DDG. Since the DDG is a DAG a
reverse-post-order traversal would give us the topological
ordering. This patch also sorts the basic blocks passed to
the builder based on program order to ensure that the
dependencies are computed in the correct direction.

Convert ARMCodeGenPrepare into a generic type promotion pass by:
- Removing the insertion of arm specific intrinsics to handle narrow
types as we weren't using this.
- Removing ARMSubtarget references.
- Now query a generic TLI object to know which types should be
promoted and what they should be promoted to.
- Move all codegen tests into Transforms folder and testing using opt
and not llc, which is how they should have been written in the

This does exactly what it says on the box. The only small gotcha is the
section index computation for offset_pair entries, which can use either
the base address section, or the section from the offset_pair entry.
This is to support both the cases where the base address is relocated
(points to the base of the CU, typically), and the case where the base

offsets themselves.

Summary:
D65884 added a set of Arm IR intrinsics for the MVE VCTP instruction,
to use in tail predication. But the 64-bit one doesn't work properly:
its predicate type is `<2 x i1>` / `v2i1`, which isn't a legal MVE
type (due to not having a full set of instructions that manipulate it
usefully). The test of `vctp64` in `basic-tail-pred.ll` goes through
`opt` fine, as the test expects, but if you then feed it to `llc` it
causes a type legality failure at isel time.
The usual workaround we've been using in the rest of the MVE
intrinsics family is to bodge `v2i1` into `v4i1`. So I've adjusted the
`vctp64` IR intrinsic to do that, and completely removed the code (and
test) that uses that intrinsic for 64-bit tail predication. That will
allow me to add isel rules (upcoming in D70485) that actually generate
the VCTP64 instruction.
Also renamed all four of these IR intrinsics so that they have `mve`
in the name, since its absence was confusing.

The runAsMain function takes a pointer to a function with a standard C main
signature, int(*)(int, char*[]), and invokes it using the given arguments and
program name. The arguments are copied into writable temporary storage as
required by the C and C++ specifications, so runAsMain safe to use when calling
main functions that modify their arguments in-place.
This patch also uses the new runAsMain function to replace hand-rolled versions
in lli, llvm-jitlink, and the SpeculativeJIT example.
jitTargetAddressToFunction takes a JITTargetAddress and returns a pointer of
the given function pointer type suitable for calling to invoke the function
at the target address.
jitTargetAddressToFunction currently behaves the same as
jitTargetAddressToPointer, but in the near future will be updated to perform
pointer signing on architectures that require it (e.g. arm64e). For this
reason it should always be preferred when generating callable pointers for
JIT'd functions.
New pass manager doesn't use verifyAnalysis, so currently there is no
way to call SCEV verification from command line when new PM is used.
This patch adds a pass that allows you to do that.

This patch substantially updates ORCv2's lookup API in order to support weak
references, and to better support static archives. Key changes:
-- Each symbol being looked for is now associated with a SymbolLookupFlags
value. If the associated value is SymbolLookupFlags::RequiredSymbol then
the symbol must be defined in one of the JITDylibs being searched (or be
able to be generated in one of these JITDylibs via an attached definition
generator) or the lookup will fail with an error. If the associated value is
SymbolLookupFlags::WeaklyReferencedSymbol then the symbol is permitted to be
undefined, in which case it will simply not appear in the resulting
SymbolMap if the rest of the lookup succeeds.
Since lookup now requires these flags for each symbol, the lookup method now
takes an instance of a new SymbolLookupSet type rather than a SymbolNameSet.
SymbolLookupSet is a vector-backed set of (name, flags) pairs. Clients are
responsible for ensuring that the set property (i.e. unique elements) holds,
though this is usually simple and SymbolLookupSet provides convenience
methods to support this.
-- Lookups now have an associated LookupKind value, which is either
LookupKind::Static or LookupKind::DLSym. Definition generators can inspect
the lookup kind when determining whether or not to generate new definitions.
The StaticLibraryDefinitionGenerator is updated to only pull in new objects
from the archive if the lookup kind is Static. This allows lookup to be
re-used to emulate dlsym for JIT'd symbols without pulling in new objects
from archives (which would not happen in a normal dlsym call).
-- JITLink is updated to allow externals to be assigned weak linkage, and
weak externals now use the SymbolLookupFlags::WeaklyReferencedSymbol value
for lookups. Unresolved weak references will be assigned the default value of
zero.
Since this patch was modifying the lookup API anyway, it alo replaces all of the
"MatchNonExported" boolean arguments with a "JITDylibLookupFlags" enum for
readability. If a JITDylib's associated value is
JITDylibLookupFlags::MatchExportedSymbolsOnly then the lookup will only
match against exported (non-hidden) symbols in that JITDylib. If a JITDylib's
associated value is JITDylibLookupFlags::MatchAllSymbols then the lookup will
match against any symbol defined in the JITDylib.
Summary:
Emit the correct .toc psuedo op when we change to the TOC and emit
TC entries. Make sure TOC psuedos get the right symbols via overriding
getMCSymbolForTOCPseudoMO on AIX. Add a test for TOC assembly writing
and update tests to include TOC entries.
Also make sure external globals have a csect set and handle external function descriptor (originally authored by Jason Liu) so we can emit TOC entries for them.

Summary:
While updatePostDominatedByUnreachable attemps to find basic blocks that are post-domianted by unreachable blocks, it currently cannot handle loops precisely, because it doesn't use the actual post dominator tree analysis but relies on heuristics of visiting basic blocks in post-order. More precisely, when the entire loop is post-dominated by the unreachable block, current algorithm fails to detect the entire loop as post-dominated by the unreachable because when the algorithm reaches to the loop latch it fails to tell all its successors (including the loop header) will "eventually" be post-domianted by the unreachable block, because the algorithm hasn't visited the loop header yet. This makes BPI for the loop latch to assume that loop backedges are taken with 100% of probability. And because of this, block frequency info sometimes marks virtually dead loops (which are post dominated by unreachable blocks) super hot, because 100% backedge-taken probability makes the loop iteration count the max value. updatePostDominatedByColdCall has the exact same problem as well.
To address this problem, this patch makes PostDominatedByUnreachable/PostDominatedByColdCall to be computed with the actual post-dominator tree.

This replaces the A32 NEON vqadds, vqaddu, vqsubs and vqsubu intrinsics

This change doesn't include any change to move from selection dag to fast isel
and that will come with other numbers that should help inform that decision.
There also haven't been any real debuggability studies with this pipeline yet,
this is just the initial start done so that people could see it and we could start
tweaking after.
Test updates: Outside of the newpm tests most of the updates are coming from either
optimization passes not run anymore (and without a compelling argument at the moment)
that were largely used for canonicalization in clang.

MVE has a basic symmetry between it's normal loads/store operations and
the masked variants. This means that masked loads and stores can use
pre-inc and post-inc addressing modes, just like the standard loads and
stores already do.
To enable that, this patch adds all the relevant infrastructure for
treating masked loads/stores addressing modes in the same way as normal
loads/stores.
This involves:
- Adding an AddressingMode to MaskedLoadStoreSDNode, along with an extra
Offset operand that is added after the PtrBase.
- Extending the IndexedModeActions from 8bits to 16bits to store the
legality of masked operations as well as normal ones. This array is
fairly small, so doubling the size still won't make it very large.
Offset masked loads can then be controlled with
setIndexedMaskedLoadAction, similar to standard loads.
- The same methods that combine to indexed loads, such as
CombineToPostIndexedLoadStore, are adjusted to handle masked loads in
the same way.
- The ARM backend is then adjusted to make use of these indexed masked
loads/stores.

Add some more helper functions to ReachingDefs to query the uses of
a given MachineInstr and also to query whether two MachineInstrs use
the same def of a register.
For Arm, while tail-predicating, these helpers are used in the
low-overhead loops to remove the dead code that calculates the number
of loop iterations.

This change doesn't include any change to move from selection dag to fast isel
and that will come with other numbers that should help inform that decision.
There also haven't been any real debuggability studies with this pipeline yet,
this is just the initial start done so that people could see it and we could start
tweaking after.
Test updates: Outside of the newpm tests most of the updates are coming from either
optimization passes not run anymore (and without a compelling argument at the moment)
that were largely used for canonicalization in clang.

In this patch the DDG DAG is sorted topologically to put the
nodes in the graph in the order that would satisfy all
dependencies. This helps transformations that would like to
generate code based on the DDG. Since the DDG is a DAG a
reverse-post-order traversal would give us the topological
ordering. This patch also sorts the basic blocks passed to
the builder based on program order to ensure that the
dependencies are computed in the correct direction.

I haven't measured, but I don't think these helpers are performance
critical. The iterator advance call can still be inlined, which is what
matters for performance.

Loop Fusion will be its first user. When there is intervening code in
between two loops, fusion is currently unable to fuse them. Loop Fusion
can use this utility to check if the intervening code can be safely
moved before or after the two loops, and move them, then it can
successfully fuse them.

Enlarge the size of ExponentType from 16bit integer to 32bit. This is

With updates to various LLVM tools that use SpecialCastList.
It was tempting to use RealFileSystem as the default, but that makes it
too easy to accidentally forget passing VFS in clang code.
The PE32Header struct is only used by COFFYAML, for intermediate
storage. The struct doesn't match the on-disk struct layout as it
uses native integers instead of e.g. support::ulittle32_t, so just
widen the fields to fit values for object::pe32plus_header, in
addition to object::pe32_header.
This avoids truncating the 64 bit ImageBase for 64 bit executables.

In a34680a33e OrcError.h and Orc/RPC/*.h were split out from the rest of
ExecutionEngine in order to eliminate false dependencies for remote JIT
targets (see https://reviews.llvm.org/D68732), however this broke modules
builds (see https://reviews.llvm.org/D69817).
This patch splits these headers out into a separate module, LLVM_OrcSupport,
in order to fix the modules build.

Moving accesses in MemorySSA at InsertionPlace::End, when an instruction is
moved into a block, almost always means insert at the end of the block, but
before the block terminator. This matters when the block terminator is a
MemoryAccess itself (an invoke), and the insertion must be done before
the terminator for the update to be correct.
Insert an additional position: InsertionPlace:BeforeTerminator and update
current usages where this applies.

Nothing breaks, so this probably has zero impact, but it seems nice,
since to_vector is more like makeArrayRef, and should really live in
SmallVector.h.

FileError doesn't need direct access to Error's internals as it can access the
payload via handleErrors.
(ErrorList remains special: it is not possible to write a handler for it, due
to the special auto-unpacking treatment that it receives from handleErrors.)
This is mostly NFC, but I removed the setting of the guard's calling convention onto the WC call. Why? Because it was untested, and was producing an ill defined output as the declaration's convention wasn't been changed leaving a mismatch which is UB.

Enumerations that describe rounding mode and exception behavior were
defined inside ConstrainedFPIntrinsic. It makes sense to use the same
definitions to represent the same properties in other cases, not only
in constrained intrinsics. It was however inconvenient as required to
include constrained intrinsics definitions even if they were not needed.
Also using long scope prefix reduced readability.
This change moves these definitioins to the namespace llvm::fp.

Hostcall is a service that allows a kernel to submit requests to the
host using shared buffers, and block until a response is
received. This will eventually replace the shared buffer currently
used for printf, and repurposes the same hidden kernel argument. This
change introduces a new ValueKind in the HSA metadata to represent the
hostcall buffer.

With the widenable condition construct, we have the ability to reason about branches which can be 'widened' (i.e. made to fail more often). We've got a couple o transforms which leverage this. This patch just cleans up the API a bit.
This is prep work for generalizing our definition of a widenable branch slightly. At the moment "br i1 (and A, wc()), ..." is considered widenable, but oddly, neither "br i1 (and wc(), B), ..." or "br i1 wc(), ..." is. That clearly needs addressed, so first, let's centralize the code in one place.
Force `-Werror=strict-prototypes` so that C API tests fail to compile if
we add a non-prototype declaration. This should help avoid regressions
like bddecba4b3 was fixing.

1 or 2 magnitudes on my machine. I was hoping this would also fix the 'large.test' libFuzzer

Cleanup handling of the denormal-fp-math attribute. Consolidate places
checking the allowed names in one place.
This is in preparation for introducing FP type specific variants of
the denormal-fp-mode attribute. AMDGPU will switch to using this in
place of the current hacky use of subtarget features for the denormal
mode.
Introduce a new header for dealing with FP modes. The constrained
intrinsic classes define related enums that should also be moved into
this header for uses in other contexts.
The verifier could use a check to make sure the denorm-fp-mode
attribute is sane, but there currently isn't one.
Currently, DAGCombiner incorrectly asssumes non-IEEE behavior by
default in the one current user. Clang must be taught to start
emitting this attribute by default to avoid regressions when this is
switched to assume ieee behavior if the attribute isn't present.
Summary:
This is a new warning which fires when one stores a reference to the
initializer_list contents in a way which may outlive the
initializer_list which it came from. In llvm this warning is triggered
whenever someone uses the initializer_list ArrayRef constructor.
This is indeed a dangerous thing to do (I myself was bitten by that at
least once), but it is not more dangerous than calling other ArrayRef
constructors with temporary objects -- something which we are used to
and have accepted as a tradeoff for ArrayRef's efficiency.
Currently, this warnings generates so much output that it completely
obscures any actionable warnings, so this patch disables it.

This fills in the small family of MVE intrinsics that have nothing to
do with vectors: they implement bit-shift operations on 32- or 64-bit
values held in one or two general-purpose registers. Most of these
shift operations saturate if shifting left, and round to nearest if
shifting right, although LSLL and ASRL behave like ordinary shifts.
When these instructions take a variable shift count in a register,
they pay attention to its sign, so that (for example) LSLL or UQRSHLL
will shift left if given a positive number but right if given a
negative one. That makes even LSLL and ASRL different enough from
standard LLVM IR shift semantics that I couldn't see any better
alternative than to simply model the whole family as a set of
MVE-specific IR intrinsics.
(The //immediate// forms of LSLL and ASRL, on the other hand, do
behave exactly like a standard IR shift of a 64-bit value. In fact,
those forms don't have ACLE intrinsics defined at all, because you can
just write an ordinary C shift operation if you want one of those.)
The 64-bit shifts have to be instruction-selected in C++, because they
deliver two output values. But the 32-bit ones are simple enough that
I could write a DAG isel pattern directly into each Instruction
record.

AMDGPU needs to know the FP mode for the function to answer this
correctly when this is removed from the subtarget.

information like the particular CPU implementation you are targeting.

Clean up the code that does GV promotion in the ThinLTO backends.
Specifically, we don't need to check whether we are importing since that
is already checked and handled correctly in shouldPromoteLocalToGlobal.
Simply call shouldPromoteLocalToGlobal, and if it returns true we are
guaranteed that we are promoting, whether or not we are importing (or in
the exporting module). This also makes the handling in getName()
consistent with that in getLinkage(), which checks the DoPromote parameter

Allow clients of the llvm library to opt-in to one-shot SIGPIPE
handling, instead of forcing them to undo llvm's SIGPIPE handler
registration (which is brittle).
The current behavior is preserved for all llvm-derived tools (except
lldb) by means of a default-`true` flag in the InitLLVM constructor.
This prevents "IO error" crashes in long-lived processes (lldb is the
motivating example) which both a) load llvm as a dynamic library and b)
*really* need to ignore SIGPIPE.
As llvm signal handlers can be installed when calling into libclang
(say, via RemoveFileOnSignal), thereby overriding a previous SIG_IGN for
SIGPIPE, there is no clean way to opt-out of "exit-on-SIGPIPE" in the
current model.

As discussed in D70081, this adds the ability to dump section
names/indices to the location list dumper. It does this by moving the
range specific logic from DWARFDie.cpp:dumpRanges into the
DWARFAddressRange class.
The trickiest part of this patch is the backflip in the meanings of the
two dump flags for the location list sections.

Summary:
As discussed in D70081, this adds the ability to dump section
names/indices to the location list dumper. It does this by moving the
range specific logic from DWARFDie.cpp:dumpRanges into the
DWARFAddressRange class.
The trickiest part of this patch is the backflip in the meanings of the
two dump flags for the location list sections.

In MCObjectStreamer, when there is no current fragment, initially
symbols are created in a "pending" state and assigned to a dummy
empty fragment.
Previously, they were not being assigned an offset, and thus
evaluateAbsolute would fail if trying to evaluate an expression 'a -
b', where both 'a' and 'b' were in this pending state.
Also slightly refactored the EmitLabel overload which takes an
MCFragment for clarity.

This only implements the non-dwo part, but loclistx is necessary to use
location lists in DWARFv5, so it's a precursor to that work - and
generally reduces relocations (only using one reloc, then
indexes/relative offsets for all location list references) in non-split
DWARF.
It was added in 2014 in 732e0aa9fb with one use in Scalarizer.cpp.
That one use was then removed when porting to the new pass manager in
2018 in b6f76002d9.
While the RFC and the desire to get off of static initializers for
cl::opt all still stand, this code is now dead, and I think we should
delete this code until someone is ready to do the migration.
There were many clients of CommandLine.h that were it transitively
through LLVMContext.h, so I cleaned that up in 4c1a1d3cf9.

This patch introduces a function pass to inject the scalar-to-vector
mappings stored in the TargetLIbraryInfo (TLI) into the Vector
Function ABI (VFABI) variants attribute.
The test is testing the injection for three vector libraries supported
by the TLI (Accelerate, SVML, MASSV).
The pass does not change any of the analysis associated to the
function.

ValueInfo has user-defined 'operator bool' which allows incorrect implicit conversion
to GlobalValue::GUID (which is unsigned long). This causes bugs which are hard to
track and should be removed in future.
Enumerations that describe rounding mode and exception behavior were
defined inside ConstrainedFPIntrinsic. It makes sense to use the same
definitions to represent the same properties in other cases, not only
in constrained intrinsics. It was however inconvenient as required to
include constrained intrinsics definitions even if they were not needed.
Also using long scope prefix reduced readability.
This change moves these definitioins to the namespace llvm::fp.

Summary:
This adds a visitLocationList function to the DWARF v4 location lists,
similar to what already exists for DWARF v5. It follows the approach
outlined in previous patches (D69672), where the parsed form is always
stored in the DWARF v5 format, which makes it easier for generic code to
be built on top of that. v4 location lists are "upgraded" during
parsing, and then this upgrade is undone while dumping.
Both "inline" and section-based dumping is rewritten to reuse the
existing "generic" location list dumper. This means that the output
format is consistent for all location lists (the only thing one needs to
implement is the function which prints the "raw" form of a location
list), and that debug_loc dumping correctly processes base address
selection entries, etc.
The previous existing debug_loc functionality (e.g.,
parseOneLocationList) is rewritten on top of the new API, but it is not
removed as there is still code which uses them. This will be done in
follow-up patches, after I build the API to access the "interpreted"
location lists in a generic way (as that is what those users really
want).

Adds a DumpObjects utility that can be used to dump JIT'd objects to disk.
Instances of DebugObjects may be used by ObjectTransformLayer as no-op
transforms.
This patch also adds an ObjectTransformLayer to LLJIT and an example of how
to use this utility to dump JIT'd objects in LLJIT.

Keys in a virtual file system can be in Posix or Windows form or even
a combination of the two. Many VFS tests (and a few Clang tests) were
XFAILed on Windows because of false negatives when comparing paths.
First, we default CaseSenstive to false on Windows. This allows
drive letters like "D:" to match "d:". Windows filesystems are, by
default, case insensitive, so this makes sense even beyond the drive
letter.
Second, we allow slashes to match backslashes when they're used as the
root component of a path.
Both of these changes are limited to RedirectingFileSystems, so there's
little chance of affecting other path handling.
These changes allow eleven of the VFS tests to pass on Windows as well
as three other Clang tests, so they have re-enabled.
This solves the majority of PR43272. Additional VFS test failures will
be fixed in separate patches.

This patch adds an assertion check for exported read/write-only
variables to be also in import list for module. If they aren't
we may face linker errors, because read/write-only variables are
internalized in their source modules. The patch also changes
export lists to store ValueInfo instead of GUID for performance

Summary:
This removes the use of zero as a base address in section-based dumping.
Although this will often be true for (unlinked) object files with a
single compile unit, it is not true in general. This means that
section-based dumping will not be able to resolve entries referencing
the base address (DW_LLE_offset_pair) -- it wasn't able to do that
correctly before either, but now it will be more explicit about it. One
exception to that is if the location list contains an explicit
DW_LLE_base_address entry -- in this case the dumper will pick it up,
and resolve subsequent entries normally.
The patch also removes the fallback to zero in the "inline" dumping in
case the compile unit does not contain a base address.

Avoids the need to include TargetMachine.h from various places just for
an enum. Various other enums live here, such as the optimization level,
TLS model, etc. Data suggests that this change probably doesn't matter,
but it seems nice to have anyway.
This file lists every pass in LLVM, and is included by Pass.h, which is
very popular. Every time we add, remove, or rename a pass in LLVM, it
caused lots of recompilation.
I found this fact by looking at this table, which is sorted by the

v256i1 on X86 without avx512 breaks down to 256 i8 values when passed between basic blocks. But the NumRegistersForVT was sized at a byte for each VT. This results in 256 being stored as 0.
This patch enlarges the type to 16 bits and adds an assert to ensure that no information is lost when the entry is stored.

During register coalescing, we update the live-intervals on-the-fly.
To do that we are in this strange mode where the live-intervals can
be slightly out-of-sync (more precisely they are forward looking)
compared to what the IR actually represents.
This happens because the register coalescer only updates the IR when
it is done with updating the live-intervals and it has to do it this
way because updating the IR on-the-fly would actually clobber some
information on how the live-ranges that are being updated look like.
This is problematic for updates that rely on the IR to accurately
represents the state of the live-ranges. Right now, we have only
one of those: stripValuesNotDefiningMask.
To reconcile this need of out-of-sync IR, this patch introduces a
new argument to LiveInterval::refineSubRanges that allows the code
doing the live range updates to reason about how the code should
look like after the coalescer will have rewritten the registers.
Essentially this captures how a subregister index with be offseted
to match its position in a new register class.
E.g., let say we want to merge:
V1.sub1:<2 x s32> = COPY V2.sub3:<4 x s32>
We do that by choosing a class where sub1:<2 x s32> and sub3:<4 x s32>
overlap, i.e., by choosing a class where we can find "offset + 1 == 3".
Put differently we align V2's sub3 with V1's sub1:
V2: sub0 sub1 sub2 sub3
V1: <offset> sub0 sub1
This offset will look like a composed subregidx in the the class:
V1.(composed sub2 with sub1):<4 x s32> = COPY V2.sub3:<4 x s32>
=> V1.(composed sub2 with sub1):<4 x s32> = COPY V2.sub3:<4 x s32>
Now if we didn't rewrite the uses and def of V1, all the checks for V1
need to account for this offset to match what the live intervals intend
to capture.
Prior to this patch, we would fail to recognize the uses and def of V1
and would end up with machine verifier errors: No live segment at def.
This could lead to miscompile as we would drop some live-ranges and
thus, miss some interferences.
For this problem to trigger, we need to reach stripValuesNotDefiningMask
while having a mismatch between the IR and the live-ranges (i.e.,
we have to apply a subreg offset to the IR.)
This requires the following three conditions:
1. An update of overlapping subreg lanes: e.g., dsub0 == <ssub0, ssub1>
2. An update with Tuple registers with a possibility to coalesce the
subreg index: e.g., v1.dsub_1 == v2.dsub_3
3. Subreg liveness enabled.
looking at the IR to decide what is alive and what is not, i.e., calling
stripValuesNotDefiningMask.
coalescer maintains for the live-ranges information.
None of the targets that currently use subreg liveness (i.e., the targets
that fulfill #3, Hexagon, AMDGPU, PowerPC, and SystemZ IIRC) expose #1 and
and #2, so this patch also artificial enables subreg liveness for ARM,
so that a nice test case can be attached.
Summary:
This avoid the need to duplicate the location lists searching logic in
various users. The "inline location list dumping" code (which is the
only user actually updated to handle DWARF v5 location lists) is
switched to this method. After adding v4 location list support, I'll
switch other users too.

This patch adds a custom ISA for vector functions for internal use
in LLVM. The <isa> token is set to "_LLVM_", and it is not attached
to any specific instruction Vector ISA, or Vector Function ABI.
The ISA is used as a token for handling Vector Function ABI-style

associated to any existing Vector Function ABI (for example, some of

These relocations are specified by the ARM EHABI (section 6.3). As I understand
it, their purpose is to accommodate unwinder implementations that wish to
reduce code size by placing the implementations of the compact unwinding
decoders in a separate translation unit, and using extern weak symbols to
refer to them from the main unwinder implementation, so that they are only
linked when something in the binary needs them in order to unwind.
However, neither of the unwinders used on Android (libgcc, LLVM libunwind)
use this technique, and in fact emitting these relocations ends up being
counterproductive to code size because they cause a copy of the unwinder
to be statically linked into most binaries, regardless of whether it is
actually needed. Furthermore, these relocations create circular dependencies
(between libc and the unwinder) in cases where the unwinder is dynamically
linked and libc contains compact unwind info.
Therefore, deviate from the EHABI here and stop emitting these relocations
on Android.

Summary:
This patch extracts the logic for computing the "absolute" locations,
which was partially present in the debug_loclists dumper, completes it,
and moves it into a separate function. This makes it possible to later
reuse the same logic for uses other than dumping.
The dumper is changed to reuse the location list interpreter, and its
format is changed somewhat. In "verbose" mode it prints the "raw" value
of a location list, the interpreted location (if available) and the
expression itself. In non-verbose mode it prints only one of the
location forms: it prefers the interpreted form, but falls back to the
"raw" format if interpretation is not possible (for instance, because we
were not given a base address, or the resolution of indirect addresses
failed).
This patch also undos some of the changes made in D69672, namely the
part about making all functions static. The main reason for this is that
I learned that the original approach (dumping only fully resolved
locations) meant that it was impossible to rewrite one of the existing
tests. To make that possible (and make the "inline location" dump work
in more cases), I now reuse the same dumping mechanism as is used for
section-based dumping. As this required having more objects know about
the various location lists classes, it seemed like a good idea to create
an interface abstracting the difference between them.
Therefore, I now create a DWARFLocationTable class, which will serve as
a base class for the location list classes. DWARFDebugLoclists is made
to inherit from that. DWARFDebugLoc will follow.
Another positive effect of this change is that section-based dumping
code will not need to use templates (as originally) envisioned, and that
the argument lists of the dumping functions become shorter.

The new experimental expansion has a problem when a value has a data
dependency with an instruction from a previous stage. This is due to
the way we peel out the kernel. To fix that I'm changing the way we
peel out the kernel. We now peel the kernel NumberStage - 1 times.
The code would be correct at this point if we didn't have to handle
cases where the loop iteration is smaller than the number of stages.
To handle this case we move instructions between different epilogues
based on their stage and remap the PHI instructions correctly.

The root cause of this is that LLVM converts signed comparisons into equality
comparison based on dominance. Equality comparisons are unsigned by default, so
we get either a record-form or cmp (without the l for logical) feeding a cmpl.
That is the situation we want to avoid here.

Currently there is no way to describe the data that is not a part of an output section.
It can be a data used to align sections or to fill the gaps with something,
or another kind of custom data. In this patch I suggest a way to describe it. It looks like that:

I.e. I've added a kind of synthetic section with a synthetic type "CustomFiller".
In the code it is called a "SyntheticFiller", which is "a synthetic section which
might be used to write the custom data around regular output sections. It does
not present in the sections header table, but it might affect the output file size and
program headers produced. Think about it as about piece of data."
`SyntheticFiller` currently has a `Pattern` field and a `Size` field + an optional `Name`.
When written, `Size` of bytes in the output will be filled with a `Pattern`.
It is possible to reference a named filler it by name from the program headers description,
just like any other normal section.

tryToWidenMemory() now first checks if the widening decision is to interleave,
thus maintaining previous behavior where tryToInterleaveMemory() was called
first, giving priority to interleave decisions over widening/scalarization. This
commit adds the test case that exposed this bug as a LIT.
Summary: A user can force a function to be inlined by specifying the always_inline attribute. Currently, thinlto implementation is not aware of always_inline functions and does not guarantee import of such functions, which in turn can prevent inlining of such functions.

The macinfo support was broken for LTO situations, by terminating
macinfo lists only once - multiple macinfo contributions were correctly
labeled, but they all continued/flowed into later contributions until
only one terminator appeared at the end of the section.
Correctly terminate each contribution & fix the parsing to handle this
situation too. The parsing fix is also necessary for dumping linked
binaries - the previous code would stop at the end of the first
contribution - missing all later contributions in a linked binary.
It'd be nice to improve the dumping to print the offsets of each
contribution so it'd be easier to know which CU AT_macro_info refers to
which macinfo contribution.
Summary:
This patch adds Pi Blocks to the DDG. A pi-block represents a group of DDG
nodes that are part of a strongly-connected component of the graph.
Replacing all the SCCs with pi-blocks results in an acyclic representation
of the DDG. For example if we have:
{a -> b}, {b -> c, d}, {c -> a}
the cycle a -> b -> c -> a is abstracted into a pi-block "p" as follows:
{p -> d} with "p" containing: {a -> b}, {b -> c}, {c -> a}
In this implementation the edges between nodes that are part of the pi-block

The change itself is straight forward and obvious, but ... there's an existing test checking for exactly the opposite. Both I and Artur think this is simply conservatism in the initial implementation. If anyone bisects a problem to this, a counter example will be very interesting.

Summary:
To be used in `ConstantRange::mulWithNoOverflow()`,
may in future be useful for when saturating shift/mul ops are added.
These are precise as far as i can tell.
I initially though i will need `APInt::[us]mul_sat()` for these,
but it turned out much simpler to do what `ConstantRange::multiply()`
does - perform multiplication in twice the bitwidth, and then truncate.
Though here we want saturating signed truncation.

Summary:
We are using symbols to represent label and csect interchangeably before, and that could be a problem.
There are cases we would need to add storage mapping class to the symbol if that symbol is actually the name of a csect, but it's hard for us to figure out whether that symbol is a label or csect.
This patch intend to do the following:
1. Construct a QualName (A name include the storage mapping class)
MCSymbolXCOFF for every MCSectionXCOFF.
2. Keep a pointer to that QualName inside of MCSectionXCOFF.
3. Use that QualName whenever we need a symbol refers to that
MCSectionXCOFF.
4. Adapt the snowball effect from the above changes in
XCOFFObjectWriter.cpp.

This recommits 100e797adb (reverted in
009e032634 for failing an assert). While the
root cause was independently reverted in eaff300401,
this commit includes a LIT to make sure IVDescriptor's SinkAfter logic does not
try to sink branch instructions.
Refactor usage of isCopyInstrImpl, isCopyInstr and isAddImmediate methods
to return optional machine operand pair of destination and source
registers.

Summary:
I need to make use of this pass from a driver program that isn't opt.
Therefore this patch moves this pass into the LLVM library so that it is
available for use elsewhere.
There was one function I kept in tools/opt which is exportDebugifyStats()
this is because it's serializing the statistics into a human readable
format and this seemed more in keeping with opt than a library function

Instcombiner pass was erasing trivially dead instruction without updating dependent llvm.dbg.value.
which was not showing programmer current state of variables while debugging.
As a part of this fix I did following,
Iterate throught all the users (llvm.dbg) of a instruction which is trivially dead and set each if them undef, Before deleting the instruction.
Now user will see optimized out, when try to print those variables.
