Summary:
In D66791 I've introduced this [[ https://cmake.org/cmake/help/latest/module/CMakeDependentOption.html | `CMakeDependentOption` ]] but in
D71306 @JDevlieghere has changed the way optional dependencies

That's why this include can be removed.

Med Ismail Bennani 7ebe9cc4fc [lldb/Target] Add Assert StackFrame Recognizer
When a thread stops, this checks depending on the platform if the top frame is
an abort stack frame. If so, it looks for an assert stack frame in the upper
frames and set it as the most relavant frame when found.

To do so, the StackFrameRecognizer class holds a "Most Relevant Frame" and a
"cooked" stop reason description. When the thread is about to stop, it checks
if the current frame is recognized, and if so, it fetches the recognized frame's
attributes and applies them.

Pavel Labath e3aa062ae9 [lldb/DWARF] Don't assume that a SymbolFileDWARFDwo contains one compile unit
Summary:
This is a preparatory patch to re-enable DWP support in lldb (we already
have code claiming to do that, but it has been completely broken for a
while now).

The idea of the new approach is to make the SymbolFileDWARFDwo class
handle both dwo and dwo files, similar to how llvm uses one DWARFContext
to handle the two.

The first step is to remove the assumption that a SymbolFileDWARFDwo
holds just a single compile unit, i.e. the GetBaseCompileUnit method.
This requires changing the way how we reach the skeleton compile unit
(and the lldb_private::CompileUnit) from a dwo unit, which was
previously done via GetSymbolFile()->GetBaseCompileUnit() (and some
virtual dispatch).

The new approach reuses the "user data" mechanism of DWARFUnits, which
was used to link dwarf units (both skeleton and split) to their
lldb_private counterparts. Now, this is done only for non-dwo units, and
instead of that, the dwo units holds a pointer to the relevant skeleton
unit.

Jonas Devlieghere 2f025bb87c [lldb/Reproducers] Implement custom replayers for (char *, size_t)
Some SB API methods returns strings through a char* and a length. This
is a problem for the deserializer, which considers a single type at a
time, and therefore cannot know how many bytes to allocate for the
character buffer.

We can solve this problem by implementing a custom replayer, which
ignores the passed-in char* and allocates a buffer of the correct size
itself, before invoking the original API method or function.

This patch adds three new macros to register a custom replayer for
methods that take a char* and a size_t. It supports arbitrary return
values (some functions return a bool while others return a size_t).

Jonas Devlieghere 6dccad7517 [lldb/Reproducers] (De)serialize char* like const char*
The current implementation has a discrepancy between how char pointers
are serialized and deserialized. The latter treats it like a const char*
while the former serializes it as a pointer to a basic type.

Both are potentially wrong, as char pointers are mostly used in
combination with a size, and nothing guarantees that the string's length
(its first null byte to be more precise) is greater or equal to its
size. The real solution is to have a custom (de)serializer that uses
both pieces of infromation.

However, the implementation should be consistent between serialization
and deserialization and I believe treating char* as const char* is the
better alternative.

Introduce support for i386 platform that is shared with amd64

The plugin tries to reuse as much code as possible. As a result, i386
register enums are mapped into amd64 values and those are used in actual
code. The code for accessing FPU and debug registers is shared,
although general-purpose register layouts do not match between the two
kernel APIs and need to be #ifdef-ed.

This layout will also make it possible to add support for debugging
32-bit programs on amd64 with minimal added code.

In order for this to work, I had to add missing data for debug registers
on i386.

Raphael Isemann 8d8bd0d654 [lldb] Make TestDataFormatterObjCCF.py pass outside California
Summary:
This test creates its dates with `NSDate dateWithNaturalLanguageString` which is deprecated and uses the current time zone of the machine to
interpret the input string. This causes that the created NSDate has a different value depending on the locale of the machine
and we hardcoded the value for California's time zone (PST) but the data formatter gives out the GMT value as a string.

This just replaces the use with the timezone-independent dateWithTimeIntervalSince1970 (which we also use in the rest of the test)
to make this pass independently of the time zone of the machine running the test.

Raphael Isemann 5ff4f881a7 [lldb] Ignore type sugar in TypeSystemClang::GetPointerType
Summary:
Currently having a typedef for ObjC types is breaking member access in LLDB:
```
typedef NSString Str;
NSString *s; s.length; // OK
Str *s; s.length; // Causes: member reference base type 'Str *' (aka 'NSString *') is not a structure or union
```

This works for NSString as there the type building from `NSString` -> `NSString *` will correctly
build a ObjCObjectPointerType (which is necessary to make member access with a dot possible),
but for the typedef the `Str` -> `Str *` conversion will produce an incorrect PointerType. The reason
for this is that our check in TypeSystemClang::GetPointerType is not desugaring the base type,
which causes that `Str` is not recognised as a type to a `ObjCInterface` as the check only sees the
typedef sugar that was put around it. This causes that we fall back to constructing a PointerType
instead which does not allow member access with the dot operator.

This patch just changes the check to look at the desugared type instead.

Jonas Devlieghere b453caf111 [lldb/Reproducers] Change the way we instrument void* arguments
The reproducer instrumentation cannot automatically serialize and
deserialize void* arguments. Currently we deal with this by explicitly
preventing these methods from being instrumented. This has the undesired
side effect of breaking replay when that method returns a value later
used by another SB API call.

The solution is to change our approach and instrument these methods.
Instead of using the DUMMY macro, we just make (de)serialization of the
void pointer a NOOP and always return a nullptr.

Re-landing this now that (hopefully) all the failures this caused on the

This patch changes the behavior of the substrs argument to self.expect.
Currently, the elements of substrs are unordered and as long as the
string appears in the output, the assertion passes.

We can be more precise by requiring that the substrings be ordered in
the way they appear. My hope is that this will make it harder to
accidentally pass a check because a string appears out of order.

Summary:

Furthermore having a set means that iterating over it is nondeterministic (at least with more than 16 objects in it), so the order in
which the destructors for the managed objects are called is currently also non-deterministic.

This just replaces the SmallPtrSet with a SmallVector.

Summary:
We currently do far more malloc calls than necessary in the ConstString BumpPtrAllocator. This is due to the 256 BumpPtrAllocators
our ConstString implementation uses internally which end up all just receiving a small share of the total allocated memory
and therefore keep allocating memory in small chunks for far too long. This patch fixes this by increasing the rate at which we increase the
memory chunk size so that our collection of BumpPtrAllocators behaves in total similar to a single BumpPtrAllocator.

Vedant Kumar 14135f50a0 [lldb/Value] Avoid reading more data than the host has available
Value::GetValueByteSize() reports the size of a Value as the size of its
underlying CompilerType. However, a host buffer that backs a Value may
be smaller than GetValueByteSize().

This situation arises when the host is only able to partially evaluate a
Value, e.g. because the expression contains DW_OP_piece.

The cleanest fix I've found to this problem is Greg's suggestion, which
is to resize the Value if (after evaluating an expression) it's found to
be too small. I've tried several alternatives which all (in one way or
the other) tried to teach the Value/ValueObjectChild system not to read
past the end of a host buffer, but this was flaky and impractical as it
isn't easy to figure out the host buffer's size (Value::GetScalar() can
point to somewhere /inside/ a host buffer, but you need to walk up the
ValueObject hierarchy to try and find its size).

This fixes an ASan error in lldb seen when debugging a clang binary.
I've added a regression test in test/functionalities/optimized_code. The
point of that test is not specifically to check that DW_OP_piece is
handled a particular way, but rather to check that lldb doesn't crash on
an input that it used to crash on.

Testing: check-lldb, and running the added tests using a sanitized lldb

--

Thanks to Jim for pointing out that an earlier version of this patch,
which simply changed the definition of Value::GetValueByteSize(), would
interact poorly with the ValueObject machinery.

Thanks also to Pavel who suggested a neat way to test this change
(which, incidentally, caught another ASan issue still present in the
original version of this patch).

GetStopDescription writes to a const char* with a given length. However,

separately.

To serialize the string, we naively look for the first null byte to
determine its length. This can lead to the method overwriting the input
buffer when the assumed string length is smaller than the actual number
of bytes written by GetStopDescription.

The real solution is to have a custom serializer that takes both
arguments into account. However, given that these are output parameters,
they don't affect replay. If the string is passed as input later, it's
is recorded as such. Therefore I've replaced the instrumentation macro

When recording the result from the LLDB_RECORD_RESULT macro, we need to
update the boundary so we capture the copy constructor. However, when
called to record the this pointer of the (copy) constructor itself, the
boundary should not be toggled, because it is called from the
LLDB_RECORD_CONSTRUCTOR macro, which might be followed by other API
calls.

This manifested itself as an object encountered during replay that we
hadn't seen before. The index-to-object mapping would return a nullptr
and lldb would crash.

Raphael Isemann ab8b22d1c2 [lldb] Don't create duplicate declarations when completing a forward declaration with a definition from another source
Summary:
I noticed this strange line in `ASTImporterDelegate::ImportDefinitionTo` which doesn't make a lot of sense:
```
to_tag->setCompleteDefinition(from_tag->isCompleteDefinition());
```

It forcibly sets the imported TagDecl to be defined if the source TagDecl was defined. This doesn't make any
sense as in this code we already forced the ASTImporter to import the definition so this should always be
a no-op.

Turns out this is hiding two bugs:
1. The way we handle forward declarations in the debug info that might be completed later is that we
  import them and then mark them as having external lexical storage. This makes Clang ask for the definition
  later when it needs it (at which point we hopefully have the definition around and can complete it). However,
  this is currently not completing the forward decls with external storage but instead creates a duplicated decl
  in the target AST which is then defined. The forward decl is kept incomplete after the import and we just
  forcibly make it a definition of the record without any content with our workaround. The TestSharedLib* tests
  is only passing because of this.
2. Minimal import of lambdas is broken and never imports the definition it seems. That appears to be a bug
  in the ASTImporter which gives the definition of lambda's some special treatment. TestLambdas.py is actually
  broken but is passing because of this workaround.

This patch fixes the first bug by forcing the ASTImporter to import to the target forward declaration. We can't
delete the workaround as the second bug is still around but that will be a follow up review for the ASTImporter.
However it will get rid of all the duplicated RecordDecls that are in our expression AST that are strangely defined
but don't have any of the fields they are supposed to have.

Raphael Isemann a5fb2e371e [lldb] Complete return types of CXXMethodDecls to prevent crashing due to covariant return types
Summary:
Currently we crash in Clang's CodeGen when we call functions with covariant return types with this assert:
```
Assertion failed: (DD && "queried property of class with no definition"), function data, file clang/include/clang/AST/DeclCXX.h, line 433.
```
when calling `clang::CXXRecordDecl::isDerivedFrom` from the `ItaniumVTableBuilder`.

Clang seems to assume that the underlying record decls of covariant return types are already completed.
This is true during a normal Clang invocation as there the type checker will complete both decls when
checking if the overloaded function is valid (i.e., the return types are covariant).

When we minimally import our AST into the expression in LLDB we don't do this type checking (which
would complete the record decls) and we end up trying to access the invalid record decls from CodeGen
which makes us trigger the assert.

This patch just completes the underlying types of ptr/ref return types of virtual function so that the
underlying records are complete and we behave as Clang expects us to do.

The GetRawLine currently returns the full command line used

it would return the whole string instead of "foo b". Usually
completion code makes the wrong assumption that the cursor is at
the end of the line and handing out the complete line will cause
that people implement completions that also make this assumption.

This patch makes GetRawLine() return only the string until the
cursor and hides the suffix (so that the cursor is always at the
end of this string) and adds another function GetRawLineWithUnusedSuffix
that is specifically the line with the suffix that isn't used by
the CompletionRequest for argument parsing etc.

There is only one user of this new function that actually needs the
suffix and that is the expression command which needs the suffix to
detect if it is in the raw or argument part of the command (by looking
at the "--" separator).

It's not up to the test format to decide whether to print something or
not, that's handled by lit itself. For other test results we would
sometimes print stdout & stderr, but not always, such as when a timeout
was reached or we couldn't parse the dotest output.

This patch changes the lldbtest format and makes it behave more like
lit. We now always print the dotest invocation, the exit code, the
output to stdout & stderr. If you're used to dealing with ShTests in

Reid Kleckner 8a81daaa8b [AST] Split parent map traversal logic into ParentMapContext.h

complete is the parent map. Nothing in Clang proper uses the ParentMap,
so split it out into its own class. Make ASTContext own the
ParentMapContext so there is still a one-to-one relationship.

After this change, 562 fewer files depend on ASTTypeTraits.h, and 66
fewer depend on TypeLoc.h:
  $ diff -u deps-before.txt deps-after.txt | \
    grep '^[-+] ' | sort | uniq -c | sort -nr | less
      562 -    ../clang/include/clang/AST/ASTTypeTraits.h

       66 -    ../clang/include/clang/AST/TypeLoc.h
       15 -    ../clang/include/clang/AST/TemplateBase.h
  ...
I computed deps-before.txt and deps-after.txt with `ninja -t deps`.

This removes a common and key dependency on TemplateBase.h and
TypeLoc.h.

This also has the effect of breaking the ParentMap RecursiveASTVisitor
instantiation into its own file, which roughly halves the compilation
time of ASTContext.cpp (29.75s -> 17.66s). The new file takes 13.8s to
compile.

I left behind forwarding methods for getParents(), but clients will need
to include a new header to make them work:
  #include "clang/AST/ParentMapContext.h"

I noticed that this parent map functionality is unfortunately duplicated
in ParentMap.h, which only works for Stmt nodes.

these changes are spreading through LLDB as folks usually just use the existing
source files as templates for their new files (most notably the unnecessary
editor language indicator `-*- C++ -*-` is spreading and in every review
someone is pointing out that this is wrong, resulting in people pointing out that this
is done in the same way in other files).

This patch removes most of these inconsistencies including the editor language indicators,
all the different missing/additional '-' characters, files that center the file name, missing
trailing `===//` (mostly caused by clang-format breaking the line).

Except for debugging purposes there's no point in leaving the reproducer

Jonas Devlieghere 47d7a81ba4 [lldb/Util] Use md5 instead of python's hash function.
Because of the way the Python hash function works, it's not guaranteed
to be the same. This was causing a lot of reproducers to be generated
for the same tests, even though the CWD or arguments didn't change.
Switching to an MD5 hash should fix that.

shafik fcaf5f6c01 [LLDB] Fix the handling of unnamed bit-fields when parsing DWARF
We ran into an assert when debugging clang and performing an expression on a class derived from DeclContext. The assert was indicating we were getting the offsets wrong for RecordDeclBitfields. We were getting both the size and offset of unnamed bit-field members wrong. We could fix this case with a quick change but as I extended the test suite to include more combinations we kept finding more cases that were being handled incorrectly. A fix that handled all the new cases as well as the cases already covered required a refactor of the existing technique.

Explicitly disallow using lldb instead of %lldb in the shell tests. This
