Saleem Abdulrasool d9f086036a ARM IAS: add support for .unwind_raw directive
This implements the unwind_raw directive for the ARM IAS. The unwind_raw
directive takes the form of a stack offset value followed by one or more bytes
representing the opcodes to be emitted. The opcode emitted will interpreted as
if it were assembled by the opcode assembler via the standard unwinding
directives.

Thanks to Logan Chien for an extra test!

Saleem Abdulrasool 662f5c1a5a ARM IAS: support .personalityindex
The .personalityindex directive is equivalent to the .personality directive with
the ARM EABI personality with the specific index (0, 1, 2). Both of these
directives indicate personality routines, so enhance the personality directive
handling to take into account personalityindex.

Bonus fix: flush the UnwindContext at the beginning of a new function.

Thanks to Logan Chien for additional tests!

Kevin Enderby debfea62d4 To allow the X86 verbose assembly to print its informative comments
when used with symbolic disassembly, add a check that the operand
is an immediate and has not been symbolicated to MCExpr operand.

I’m trying to enable the ‘C’ disassembly API option
LLVMDisassembler_Option_SetInstrComments for darwin’s
otool(1) that uses the llvm disassembler API. The problem is
that the disassembler API can change an immediate operand to
an MCExpr operand if it symbolicates it with the call backs.
And if it does the code in llvm::EmitAnyX86InstComments()
will crash when it assumes these operands are immediates.

The fix for this is very straight forward to just protect the call
to getImm() with a check of isImm(). So if the immediate for
an instruction is symbolicated it simply doesn’t get the X86
verbose assembly comments:

% otool -tV test_asm.o
test_asm.o:
(__TEXT,__text) section
_t1:
0000000000000000	vpshufd	$_t1, %xmm1, %xmm0
0000000000000005	retq
0000000000000006	nopw	%cs:_t1(%rax,%rax)
_t2:
0000000000000010	vpshufd	$-0x1, %xmm0, %xmm0 ## xmm0 = xmm0[3,3,3,3]
0000000000000015	retq
0000000000000016	nopw	%cs:_t1(%rax,%rax)
_t3:
0000000000000020	vpshufd	$_t1, %xmm1, %xmm0
0000000000000025	retq
0000000000000026	nopw	%cs:_t1(%rax,%rax)
_t4:
0000000000000030	vpshufd	$0x2d, %xmm0, %xmm0 ## xmm0 = xmm0[1,3,2,0]
0000000000000035	retq

The fact that the immediate $0x0 is being symbolicated at
all in this case is a different problem which my next patch
will address.

Andrea Di Biagio 450d1661be [X86] Teach how to combine a vselect into a movss/movsd
Add target specific rules for combining vselect dag nodes into movss/movsd
when possible.

If the vector type of the vselect dag node in input is either MVT::v4i13 or
MVT::v4f32, then try to fold according to rules:

  1) fold (vselect (build_vector (0, -1, -1, -1)), A, B) -> (movss A, B)
  2) fold (vselect (build_vector (-1, 0, 0, 0)), A, B) -> (movss B, A)

If the vector type of the vselect dag node in input is either MVT::v2i64 or
MVT::v2f64 (and we have SSE2), then try to fold according to rules:

  3) fold (vselect (build_vector (0, -1)), A, B) -> (movsd A, B)
  4) fold (vselect (build_vector (-1, 0)), A, B) -> (movsd B, A)

David Woodhouse caaa2850c0 [x86] Fix disassembly of MOV16ao16 et al.
The addition of IC_OPSIZE_ADSIZE in r198759 wasn't quite complete. It
also turns out to have been unnecessary. The disassembler handles the
AdSize prefix for itself, and doesn't care about the difference between
(e.g.) MOV8ao8 and MOB8ao8_16 definitions. So just let them coexist and
don't worry about it.

David Woodhouse 5cf4c6750d [x86] Fix 16-bit handling of OpSize bit
When disassembling in 16-bit mode the meaning of the OpSize bit is
inverted. Instructions found in the IC_OPSIZE context will actually
*not* have the 0x66 prefix, and instructions in the IC context will
have the 0x66 prefix. Make use of the existing special-case handling
for the 0x66 prefix being in the wrong place, to cope with this.

Aside from cleaning up the code, this also adds support for the -code16
environment and actually enables the MODE_16BIT mode that was previously
not accessible.

There is no point adding any testing for 16-bit yet though; basically
nothing will work because we aren't handling the OpSize prefix correctly
for 16-bit mode.

with that later. These options include reducing the number of classes once
we see the best way to simplify them, or by extending tablegen to be able
to compress the table by eliminating duplicates entries, etc.

Weiming Zhao fe26fd27b4 PR 18466: Fix ARM Pseudo Expansion
When expanding neon pseudo stores, it may miss the implicit uses of sub
regs, which may cause post RA scheduler reorder instructions that
breakes anti dependency.

For example:
  VST1d64QPseudo %R0<kill>, 16, %Q9_Q10, pred:14, pred:%noreg
  will be expanded to
    VST1d64Q %R0<kill>, 16, %D18, pred:14, pred:%noreg;

An instruction that defines %D20 may be scheduled before the store by
mistake.

This patches adds implicit uses for such case. For the example above, it
emits:
  VST1d64Q %R0<kill>, 8, %D18, pred:14, pred:%noreg, %Q9_Q10<imp-use>

Andrea Di Biagio 5448a3c771 [X86] Fix assertion failure caused by a wrong folding of vector shifts by immediate count.

David Woodhouse 4e033b0e92 [x86] Fix retq/retl handling in 64-bit mode
This finishes the job started in r198756, and creates separate opcodes for
64-bit vs. 32-bit versions of the rest of the RET instructions too.

LRETL/LRETQ are interesting... I can't see any justification for their
existence in the SDM. There should be no 'LRETL' in 64-bit mode, and no
need for a REX.W prefix for LRETQ. But this is what GAS does, and my
Sandybridge CPU and an Opteron 6376 concur when tested as follows:

asm __volatile__("pushq $0x1234\nmovq $0x33,%rax\nsalq $32,%rax\norq $1f,%rax\npushq %rax\nlretl $8\n1:");
asm __volatile__("pushq $1234\npushq $0x33\npushq $1f\nlretq $8\n1:");
asm __volatile__("pushq $0x33\npushq $1f\nlretq\n1:");
asm __volatile__("pushq $0x1234\npushq $0x33\npushq $1f\nlretq $8\n1:");

cf. PR8592 and commit r118903, which added LRETQ. I only added LRETIQ to
match it.

I don't quite understand how the Intel syntax parsing for ret
instructions is working, despite r154468 allegedly fixing it. Aren't the
explicitly sized 'retw', 'retd' and 'retq' supposed to work? I have at
least made the 'lretq' work with (and indeed *require*) the 'q'.

Chandler Carruth 73523021d0 [PM] Split DominatorTree into a concrete analysis result object which
can be used by both the new pass manager and the old.

This removes it from any of the virtual mess of the pass interfaces and
lets it derive cleanly from the DominatorTreeBase<> template. In turn,
tons of boilerplate interface can be nuked and it turns into a very
straightforward extension of the base DominatorTree interface.

The old analysis pass is now a simple wrapper. The names and style of
this split should match the split between CallGraph and
CallGraphWrapperPass. All of the users of DominatorTree have been
updated to match using many of the same tricks as with CallGraph. The
goal is that the common type remains the resulting DominatorTree rather
than the pass. This will make subsequent work toward the new pass
manager significantly easier.

Also in numerous places things became cleaner because I switched from
re-running the pass (!!! mid way through some other passes run!!!) to
directly recomputing the domtree.

Chandler Carruth e509db410a [PM] Pull the generic graph algorithms and data structures for dominator
trees into the Support library.

These are all expressed in terms of the generic GraphTraits and CFG,
with no reliance on any concrete IR types. Putting them in support
clarifies that and makes the fact that the static analyzer in Clang uses
them much more sane. When moving the Dominators.h file into the IR
library I claimed that this was the right home for it but not something
I planned to work on. Oops.

So why am I doing this? It happens to be one step toward breaking the
requirement that IR verification can only be performed from inside of
a pass context, which completely blocks the implementation of
verification for the new pass manager infrastructure. Fixing it will
also allow removing the concept of the "preverify" step (WTF???) and
allow the verifier to cleanly flag functions which fail verification in
a way that precludes even computing dominance information. Currently,
that results in a fatal error even when you ask the verifier to not
fatally error. It's awesome like that.

The yak shaving will continue...

Chandler Carruth 5ad5f15cff [cleanup] Move the Dominators.h and Verifier.h headers into the IR
directory. These passes are already defined in the IR library, and it
doesn't make any sense to have the headers in Analysis.

Long term, I think there is going to be a much better way to divide
these matters. The dominators code should be fully separated into the
abstract graph algorithm and have that put in Support where it becomes
obvious that evn Clang's CFGBlock's can use it. Then the verifier can
manually construct dominance information from the Support-driven
interface while the Analysis library can provide a pass which both
caches, reconstructs, and supports a nice update API.

But those are very long term, and so I don't want to leave the really
confusing structure until that day arrives.

David Peixotto a872e0e0a6 Add ARM fconsts/fconstd aliases for vmov.f32/vmov.f64
This commit adds the pre-UAL aliases of fconsts and fconstd for
vmov.f32 and vmov.f64. They use an InstAlias rather than a
MnemonicAlias to properly support the predicate operand.

We need to support encoded 8-bit constants in order to implement the
pre-UAL fconsts/fconstd aliases for vmov.f32/vmov.f64, so this
commit also fixes parsing of encoded floating point constants used
in vmov.f32/vmov.f64 instructions. Now we can support assembly code
like this:

  fconsts s0, #0x70

which is equivalent to vmov.f32 s0, #1.0.

Most of the code was already in place to support this feature.
Previously the code was trying to accept encoded 8-bit float
constants for the vmov.f32/vmov.f64 instructions. It looks like the
support for parsing encoded floats was lost in a refactoring in
commit r148556 and we did not have any tests in place to catch it.

The change in this commit is to keep the parsed value as a 32-bit
float instead of a 64-bit double because that is what the isFPImm()
function expects to find. There is no loss of precision by using a
32-bit float here because we are still limited to an 8-bit encoded
value in the end.

Additionally, we explicitly reject encoded 8-bit floats for
vmovf.32/64. This is the same as the current behavior, but we now do
it explicitly rather than accidently.

The ARM backend has been using most of the MachO related subtarget
checks almost interchangeably, and since the only target it's had to
run on has been IOS (which is all three of MachO, Darwin and IOS) it's
worked out OK so far.

But we'd like to support embedded targets under the "*-*-none-macho"
triple, which means everything starts falling apart and inconsistent
behaviours emerge.

This patch should pick a reasonably sensible set of behaviours for the
new triple (and any others that come along, with luck). Some choices
were debatable (notably FP == r7 or r11), but we can revisit those
later when deficiencies become apparent.

Craig Topper 7ceb54a2a1 Add OpSize16 bit, for instructions which need 0x66 prefix in 16-bit mode
The 0x66 prefix toggles between 16-bit and 32-bit addressing mode.
So in 32-bit mode it is used to switch to 16-bit addressing mode for the
following instruction, while in 16-bit mode it's the other way round — it's
used to switch to 32-bit mode instead.

Thus, emit the 0x66 prefix byte for OpSize only in 32-bit (and 64-bit) mode,
and introduce a new OpSize16 bit which is used in 16-bit mode instead.

This is just the basic infrastructure for that change; a subsequent patch
will add the new OpSize16 bit to the 32-bit instructions that need it.

Rafael Espindola 58873566b3 Make the llvm mangler depend only on DataLayout.
Before this patch any program that wanted to know the final symbol name of a
GlobalValue had to link with Target.

This patch implements a compromise solution where the mangler uses DataLayout.
This way, any tool that already links with Target (llc, clang) gets the exact
behavior as before and new IR files can be mangled without linking with Target.

With this patch the mangler is constructed with just a DataLayout and DataLayout
is extended to include the information the Mangler needs.

Rafael Espindola 6994fdf33c Remove the 's' DataLayout specification
During the years there have been some attempts at figuring out how to
align byval arguments. A look at the commit log suggests that they
were

* Use the ABI alignment.
* When that was not sufficient for x86-64, I added the 's' specification to
  DataLayout.
* When that was not sufficient Evan added the virtual getByValTypeAlignment.
* When even that was not sufficient, we just got the FE to add the alignment
  to the byval.

This patch is just a simple cleanup that removes my first attempt at fixing the
problem. I also added an AArch64 implementation of getByValTypeAlignment to
make sure this patch is a nop. I also left the 's' parsing for backward
compatibility.

I will send a short email to llvmdev about the change for anyone maintaining
an out of tree target.

Directive parsers must return false if the target assembler is interested in
handling the directive. The Error member function returns true always. Using

encountered a badly formed directive or some other error. This corrects the

Chandler Carruth f5689f8304 Disable transforms that introduce calls to exp10*() on Linux due to
widespread glibc bugs.

The glibc implementation of exp10 has a very serious precision bug in
version 2.15 (and older versions). This is still very widely used (the
current Ubuntu LTS for example uses it) and so it isn't reasonable to
make transforms that produce these functions. This fixes many
miscompiles introduced when we started transforming pow(10.0, ...) into
exp10, and it may have fixed other latent miscompiles where exp10
provided sufficient precision but exp10f did not.

This is all really horrible. The primary bug has been fixed for over
a year and glibc 2.18 works correctly for the test cases I have, but it
will be 2017 before the LTS using 2.15 is no longer supported by Ubuntu
(and thus reasonable for folks to be relying on). =[ We're either going
to need to live without these optimizations, or find a way to switch
behavior more dynamically than using simply the fact that the OS is
"Linux".

To make matters worse, there appears to be significant testing and
fixing of numerous other bugs in the exp10 family of functions right now
in glibc. While those haven't been causing problems I've seen in the
wild, it gives me concerns that we may need to wait until an even later
release of glibc before we can reliably transform code into exp10.

Kevin Enderby 36eba25fee Un-revert: the buildbot failure in LLVM on lld-x86_64-win7 had me with
this commit as the only one on the Blamelist so I quickly reverted this.
However it was actually Nick's change who has since fixed that issue.

Original commit message:

Changed the X86 assembler for intel syntax to work with directional labels.

The X86 assembler as a separate code to parser the intel assembly syntax
in X86AsmParser::ParseIntelOperand(). This did not parse directional labels.
And if something like 1f was used as a branch target it would get an
"Unexpected token" error.

The fix starts in X86AsmParser::ParseIntelExpression() in the case for
AsmToken::Integer, it needs to grab the IntVal from the current token
then look for a 'b' or 'f' following an Integer. Then it basically needs to
do what is done in AsmParser::parsePrimaryExpr() for directional
labels. It saves the MCExpr it creates in the IntelExprStateMachine
in the Sym field.

When it returns to X86AsmParser::ParseIntelOperand() it looks
for a non-zero Sym field in the IntelExprStateMachine and if
set it creates a memory operand not an immediate operand
it would normally do for the Integer.

David Peixotto 52303f6ed3 Ensure deterministic when printing ARM assembler constant pools
We dump any non-empty assembler constant pools after a successful
parse of an assembly file that uses the ldr pseudo opcode. These
per-section constant pools should be output in a deterministic order
to ensure that we always generate the same output when printing the
output with an AsmStreamer.

This patch changes the map data struture used to associate a section
with its constant pool to a MapVector to ensure deterministic
output. Because this map type does not support deletion, we now
check that the constant pool is not empty before dumping its entries
and clear the entries after emitting them with the streamer.

David Peixotto 80c083a678 Implement the .ltorg directive for ARM assembly
This directive will write out the assembler-maintained constant
pool for the current section. These constant pools are created to
support the ldr-pseudo instruction (e.g. ldr r0, =val).

The directive can be used by the programmer to place the constant
pool in a location that can be reached by a pc-relative offset in
the ldr instruction.

David Peixotto e407d093e8 Implement the ldr-pseudo opcode for ARM assembly
The ldr-pseudo opcode is a convenience for loading 32-bit constants.
It is converted into a pc-relative load from a constant pool. For
example,

  ldr r0, =0x10001
  ldr r1, =bar

will generate this output in the final assembly

  ldr r0, .Ltmp0
  ldr r1, .Ltmp1
  ...
  .Ltmp0: .long 0x10001
  .Ltmp1: .long bar

Sketch of the LDR pseudo implementation:
Keep a map from Section => ConstantPool

  When parsing ldr r0, =val
    parse val as an MCExpr
    get ConstantPool for current Section
    Label = CreateTempSymbol()
remember val in ConstantPool at next free slot
add operand to ldr that is MCSymbolRef of Label

  On finishParse() callback
Write out all non-empty constant pools
    for each Entry in ConstantPool
      Emit Entry.Label
      Emit Entry.Value

Possible improvements to be added in a later patch:
  1. Does not convert load of small constants to mov
     (e.g. ldr r0, =0x1 => mov r0, 0x1)
  2. Does reuse constant pool entries for same constant

The implementation was tested for ARM, Thumb1, and Thumb2 targets on
linux and darwin.

Hal Finkel 2345347eb9 Add a disassembler to the PowerPC backend
The tests for the disassembler were adapted from the encoder tests, and for the
most part, the output from the disassembler matches that encoder-test inputs.
There are some places where more-informative mnemonics could be produced
(notably for the branch instructions), and those cases are noted in the tests
with FIXMEs.

Future work includes:

 - Generating more-informative mnemonics when possible (this may also be done
   in the printer).

 - Remove the dependence on positional "numbered" operand-to-variable mapping

Josh Magee 22b8ba2d67 [stackprotector] Use analysis from the StackProtector pass for stack layout in PEI a nd LocalStackSlot passes.
This changes the MachineFrameInfo API to use the new SSPLayoutKind information
produced by the StackProtector pass (instead of a boolean flag) and updates a
few pass dependencies (to preserve the SSP analysis).

The stack layout follows the same approach used prior to this change - i.e.,
only LargeArray stack objects will be placed near the canary and everything
else will be laid out normally. After this change, structures containing large
arrays will also be placed near the canary - a case previously missed by the
old implementation.

Out of tree targets will need to update their usage of
MachineFrameInfo::CreateStackObject to remove the MayNeedSP argument.

The next patch will implement the rules for sspstrong and sspreq. The end goal
is to support ssp-strong stack layout rules.

Reid Kleckner a534a38130 Begin adding docs and IR-level support for the inalloca attribute
The inalloca attribute is designed to support passing C++ objects by
value in the Microsoft C++ ABI. It behaves the same as byval, except
that it always implies that the argument is in memory and that the bytes
are never copied. This attribute allows the caller to take the address
of an outgoing argument's memory and execute arbitrary code to store
into it.

This patch adds basic IR support, docs, and verification. It does not
attempt to implement any lowering or fix any possibly broken transforms.

When this patch lands, a complete description of this feature should

The vastart_save_xmm_regs pseudo-instruction expands to a test and a

Stepan Dyatkovskiy 7f7c2710e0 Fix for PR18045:
http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=18045

Short issue description:
For X86 machines with sse < sse4.1 we got failures for some
particular load/store vector sequences:

$ clang-trunk -m32 -O2 test-case.c
fatal error: error in backend: Cannot select: 0x4200920: v4i32,ch = load 0x41d6ab0, 0x4205850,
      0x41dcb10<LD16[getelementptr inbounds ([4 x i32]* @e, i32 0, i32 0)](align=4)> [ORD=82]
      [ID=58]
  0x4205850: i32 = X86ISD::Wrapper 0x41d5490 [ORD=26] [ID=43]
    0x41d5490: i32 = TargetGlobalAddress<[4 x i32]* @e> 0 [ORD=26] [ID=23]
  0x41dcb10: i32 = undef [ID=2]

The reason is that EltsFromConsecutiveLoads could emit such load instruction
both before and after legalize stage. Though this instruction is not legal for
machines with SSSE3 and lower.

The fix: In EltsFromConsecutiveLoads, if we have passed legalize stage, we
check whether nodes it emits are legal.

P.S.: If you get failure in time from 12:00 and till 22:00 (UTC-8),
perhaps I'll slow with response, so you better reject this commit. Thanks!

Duncan P. N. Exon Smith b2d4274d3f Revert "Mark vastart_save_xmm_regs as changing EFLAGS"
This reverts commit r197469.

The sanitizer and dragonegg buildbots are failing, I think because of
this change. Reverting until I figure out why.

Duncan P. N. Exon Smith a4acde39e9 Mark vastart_save_xmm_regs as changing EFLAGS
The vastart_save_xmm_regs pseudo-instruction expands to a test and a
branch, so it modifies EFLAGS. Mark it so, or else the scheduler might
place it in the middle of another test+branch.

This fixes a bug exposed by r192750, which turned on the MI Scheduler
for X86.

Andrew Trick e339828b90 Allow MachineCSE to coalesce trivial subregister copies the same way that it coalesces normal copies.
Without this, MachineCSE is powerless to handle redundant operations with truncated source operands.

This required fixing the 2-addr pass to handle tied subregisters. It isn't clear what combinations of subregisters can legally be tied, but the simple case of truncated source operands is now safely handled:

     %vreg11<def> = COPY %vreg1:sub_32bit; GR32:%vreg11 GR64:%vreg1
     %vreg12<def> = COPY %vreg2:sub_32bit; GR32:%vreg12 GR64:%vreg2
     %vreg13<def,tied1> = ADD32rr %vreg11<tied0>, %vreg12<kill>, %EFLAGS<imp-def>

Test case: cse-add-with-overflow.ll.

This exposed an existing bug in
PPCInstrInfo::commuteInstruction. Thanks to Rafael for the test case:
PowerPC/crash.ll.
