Xing GUO 2974b3c566 [llvm-dwarfdump] Make commandline arguments consistent.
Currently, llvm-dwarfdump's help message has two issues.

1. Most long options are printed in `--long-option`, except for some section dumping options, e.g., `-apple-names`, `-debug-addr`.

2. Most options are printed with consistent indention, except for some section dumping options.

This patch helps resolve these two issues.

Greg Clayton 6025fc2243 Add .debug_ranges support to the DWARF YAML.
Summary: This allows DIEs with DW_AT_ranges to be encoded and decoded _and_ actually have their address ranges be included instead of having DW_AT_ranges with a section offset value for a section that doesn't exist.

Amy Huang 641ae73f2e [NativeSession] Implement NativeSession::findSymbolByAddress.
Summary: This implements searching for function symbols and public symbols by address.

More specifically,
-Implements NativeSession::findSymbolByAddress for function symbols and
public symbols. I think data symbols are also searched for, but isn't
implemented in this patch.
-Adds classes for NativeFunctionSymbol and NativePublicSymbol
-Adds a '-use-native-pdb-reader' option to llvm-symbolizer, for testing
purposes.

Wei Mi 56926ae0fa [SampleFDO] Rename llvm-profdata flag -partial-profile to -gen-partial-profile.
The internal flag -partial-profile in llvm conflicts with the flag with
the same name in llvm-profdata. The conflict happens in builds with
LLVM_LINK_LLVM_DYLIB enabled. In this case the tools are linked with libLLVM
and we end up with two definitions for the same cl::opt.

The patch renames llvm-profdata flag -partial-profile to -gen-partial-profile.

Fangrui Song 013f06703e [gcov] Emit GCOV_TAG_OBJECT_SUMMARY/GCOV_TAG_PROGRAM_SUMMARY correctly and fix llvm-cov's decoding of runcount
gcov 9 (r264462) started to use GCOV_TAG_OBJECT_SUMMARY. Before,
GCOV_TAG_PROGRAM_SUMMARY was used.
libclang_rt.profile should emit just one tag according to the version.

Another bug introduced by rL194499 is that the wrong runcount field was
selected.

Fix the two bugs so that gcov can correctly decode "Runs:" from
libclang_rt.profile produced .gcda files, and llvm-cov gcov can
correctly decode "Runs:" from libgcov produced .gcda files.

Fangrui Song f081150c4d [gcov] Implement --stdout -t
gcov by default prints to a .gcov file. With --stdout, stdout is used.
Some summary information is omitted. There is no separator for multiple
source files.

Andrea Di Biagio 47b95d7cf4 [MCA][InstrBuilder] Correctly mark reserved resources in initializeUsedResources.
This fixes a bug reported by Alex Renda on LLVMDev where mca did not correctly
mark a resource group as "reserved".
(See http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-dev/2020-May/141485.html).

The issue was caused by a wrong check in function `initializeUsedResources`.
As a consequence of this, a resource group was left unreserved, and its field
`NumUnits` incorrectly reported an unrealistic number of consumed resource
units.

This patch fixes the issue with the handling of reserved resources in the
InstrBuilder class, and adds a simple test for it.  Ideally, as suggested by
Andy Trick, most of these problems will disappear if in the future we will
introduce a (optional) DelayCycles vector for SchedWriteRes.

Fangrui Song 2d00eb17ca [gcov] Fix .gcda decoding and support GCC 8, 9 and 10
GCDAProfiling.c unnecessarily writes function names to .gcda files.
GCC 4.2 gcc/libgcov.c (now renamed to libgcc/libgcov*) did not write function
names. gcov-7 (compatible) crashes on .gcda produced by libclang_rt.profile
rL176173 realized the problem and introduced a mode to remove function
names.

llvm-cov code apparently takes GCDAProfiling.c output format as truth
and tries to decode function names.  Additionally, llvm-cov tries to
decode tags in certain order which does not match libgcov emitted .gcda
files.

This patch fixes the .gcda decoder and makes it work with GCC 8 and 9
(10 is compatible with 9). Note, line statistics are broken and not
fixed by this patch.

Add test/tools/llvm-cov/gcov-{4.7,8,9}.c to test compatibility.

Igor Kudrin c6ed1fcf24 [DebugInfo] Dump raw data in a case of decoding error of an expression.
It looks like that was an initial intention, but some code paths in
`DWARFExpression::Operation::extract()` did not initialize `EndOffset`

Jonas Devlieghere 7fb9bcd3da [dsymutil] Add option to print statistics about the .debug_info size.
This patch adds statistics about the contribution of each object file to
the linked debug info. When --statistics is passed to dsymutil, it
prints a table after linking as illustrated below.

It lists the object file name, the size of the debug info in the object
file in bytes, and the absolute size contribution to the linked dSYM and
the percentage difference. The table is sorted by the output size, so
the object files contributing the most to the link are listed first.

Andrea Di Biagio 5578ec32f9 [MCA] Fixed a bug where loads and stores were sometimes incorrectly marked as depedent. Fixes PR45793.
This fixes a regression introduced by a very old commit 280ac1fd1d (was
llvm-svn 361950).

Commit 280ac1fd1d redesigned the logic in the LSUnit with the goal of
speeding up isReady() queries, and stabilising the LSUnit API (while also making
the load store unit more customisable).

The concept of MemoryGroup (effectively an alias set) was added by that commit
to better describe and track dependencies between memory operations.  However,
that concept was not just used for alias dependencies, but it was also used for
describing memory "order" dependencies (enforced by the memory consistency
model).

Instructions of a same memory group were considered "equivalent" as in:
independent operations that can potentially execute in parallel.  The problem
was that the cost of a dependency (in terms of number of cycles) should have
been different for "order" dependency. Instructions in an order dependency
simply have to have to wait until their predecessors are "issued" to an
underlying pipeline (rather than having to wait until predecessors have beeng
fully executed). For simple "order" dependencies, this was effectively
introducing an artificial delay on the "issue" of independent loads and stores.

This patch fixes the issue and adds a new test named 'independent-load-stores.s'
to a bunch of x86 targets. That test contains the reproducible posted by Fabian
Ritter on PR45793.

I had to rerun the update-mca-tests script on several files. To avoid expected
regressions on some Exynos tests, I have added a -noalias=false flag (to match
the old strict behavior on latencies).

Some tests for processor Barcelona are improved/fixed by this change and they
now show better results.  In a few tests we were incorrectly counting the time
spent by instructions in a scheduler queue.  In one case in particular we now
correctly see a store executed out of order.  That test was affected by the same
underlying issue reported as PR45793.

Zakk Chen ad5fad0ac5 [LTO] Suppress emission of empty combined module by default
Summary:
That unless the user requested an output object (--lto-obj-path), the an
unused empty combined module is not emitted.

This changed is helpful for some target (ex. RISCV-V) which encoded the
ABI info in IR module flags (target-abi). Empty unused module has no ABI
info so the linker would get the linking error during merging
incompatible ABIs.

Fangrui Song ac9e8b3a7e [llvm-objdump][ARM] Print inline relocations when dumping ARM data
Fixes PR44357

For ARM ELF, regions covered by data mapping symbols `$d` are dumped as `.byte`, `.short` or `.word` but inline relocations are not printed. This patch merges its loop into the normal instruction printing loop so that inline relocations are printed.

Fangrui Song ec786906f5 [llvm-objcopy] -O binary: skip empty sections
After SHF_ALLOC sections are ordered by LMA:

* If initial sections are empty, GNU objcopy skips their contents while we
  emit leading zeros. (binary-paddr.test %t4)
* If trailing sections are empty, GNU objcopy skips their contents while we
  emit trailing zeros. (binary-paddr.test %t5)

This patch matches GNU objcopy's behavior. Linkers don't keep p_memsz
PT_LOAD segments. Such empty sections would not have a containing
PT_LOAD and `Section::ParentSegment` might be null if linkers fail to
optimize the file offsets (lld D79254).

In particular, without D79254, the arm Linux kernel's multi_v5_defconfig
depends on this behavior: in `vmlinux`, an empty .text_itcm is mapped at
a very high address (0xfffe0000) but the kernel does not expect
`objcopy -O binary` to create a very large `arch/arm/boot/Image`
(0xfffe0000-0xc0000000 ~= 1GiB). See https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45632

Georgii Rymar 07d448135f [llvm-readobj][test] - Stop using binaries in gnu-phdrs.test, split and refine it.
gnu-phdrs.test uses 2 precompiled objects and has issues:

* It does not test all possible program headers.
* It does not test target-specific headers (arm, mips).
* It does not use --strict-whitespace --match-full-line to check the format of the output.
* It is possible to check things better/nicer.
* It also tests --section-mapping.

This patch makes gnu-phdrs.test to stop using binaries and addresses issues above.
It splits --section-mapping testing to gnu-section-mapping.test

I am going to use it as a base for a follow-up patch that should also test
section to segment mapping conditions that we currently have
(see the discussion in D78709)

Eric Astor e9827f0b82 [ms] Add new option to llvm-lib: /llvmlibempty
Summary:
Add a new option (/llvmlibempty). If passed and llvm-lib does not give an error, it will create a valid output archive even if empty.

By default, llvm-lib mimicks lib.exe: if given no input files, it doesn't create its output file at all. This is incompatible with some build systems, so we add a command-line option to toggle this compatibility behavior.

Alexander Shaposhnikov cf7edb6ea5 [llvm-objcopy][MachO] Avoid accidental invalid relocations in tests
Until recently yaml2obj didn't properly support relocations for MachO.
This behavior resulted in binaries having invalid relocations.
In this diff we adjust the existing tests as follows:
for the tests which don't actually look at any relocations they are removed,
for the tests which essentially depend on relocations they are fixed.

I believe this behavior was copied from https://sourceware.org/git/?p=binutils-gdb.git;a=commit;h=6ffd79000b45e77b3625143932ffbf781b6aecab (2008-05)
The commit was made for some corner cases of very old linkers.
This special rule does not seem useful and remove it can allow us to
delete a large chunk of code.

Fangrui Song 3c9c9c1768 [llvm-objdump] Print target address with evaluateMemoryOperandAddress()
D63847 added `MCInstrAnalysis::evaluateMemoryOperandAddress()`. This patch
leverages the feature to print the target addresses for evaluable instructions.

This patch also deletes `MIA->isCall(Inst) || MIA->isUnconditionalBranch(Inst) || MIA->isConditionalBranch(Inst)`

Georgii Rymar 9f9a08e19c [obj2yaml] - Program headers: simplify the computation of p_filesz.
Currently we have computations of `p_filesz` and `p_memsz` mixed together
with the use of a loop over fragments. After recent changes it is possible to
avoid using a loop for the computation of `p_filesz`, since we know that fragments
are sorted by their file offsets.

The main benefit of this change is that splits the computation of `p_filesz`
and `p_memsz` what is simpler and allows us to fix the computation of the
`p_memsz` independently (D78005 shows the issue that we have currently).

Alex Richardson f50bc823fe [UpdateTestChecks] Make generation of UTC_ARGS: comment more robust
We now use the argparse Action objects to determine the name of the flags.
This fixes cases where the key for the stored result ('dest') is not the
same as the command line flag (e.g. --enable/--disable).
Also add a test that --disabled can be part of the initial UTC_ARGS.

James Henderson e9aac2c3ef [llvm-objdump] Look in all viable sections for call/branch targets
Prior to this patch, llvm-objdump would only look in the last section
(according to the section header table order) that matched an address
for a symbol when identifying the target symbol of a call or branch
operation. If there are multiple sections with the same address, due to
some of them being empty, it did not look in those, even if the symbol
couldn't be found in the first section looked in.

This patch causes llvm-objdump to look in all sections for possible
candidate symbols. If there are multiple possible symbols, it picks one
from a non-empty section, if possible (as that is more likely to be the
"real" symbol since functions can't really be in emptiy sections),
before falling back to those in empty sections. If all else fails, it
falls back to absolute symbols as it did before.

Georgii Rymar 2bf5674317 [yaml2obj] - Program headers: add an additional check for `Offset`
The `Offset` field is used to set the file offset of a program header.
In a normal object it should not be greater than the minimal offset
of sections included into segment.

Pavel Labath c475856d05 [DWARFDebugLine] Check for errors when parsing v2 file/dir lists
Summary:
Without this we could silently accept an invalid prologue because the
default DataExtractor behavior is to return an empty string when
reaching the end of file. And empty string is also used to terminate
these lists.

This makes the parsing code slightly more complicated, but this
complexity will go away once the parser starts working with truncating
data extractors. The reason I am doing it this way is because without
this, the truncation would regress the quality of error messages (right
now, we produce bad error messages only near EOF, but truncation would
make everything behave as if it was near EOF).

Georgii Rymar 3471ae9dad [yaml2obj] - Verify that sections are sorted by their file offsets when creating segments.
This validates that sections listed for a segment in the YAML
declaration are ordered by their file offsets.

It might help to simplify the file size computation, but also
is useful by itself as helps to avoid issues in test cases and
to maintain their readability.

Fangrui Song b14e9e3c0c Reland D76675 [llvm-objcopy] Match GNU behaviour regarding file symbols
Don't error on Config.KeepFileSymbols for COFF and Mach-O.

Original description:

GNU objcopy removes STT_FILE symbols for strip-debug operations, and
keeps them for --discard-all operation. Match their behaviour for
llvm-objcopy.
