Eric Liu 9e745b7292 Introducing clang::tooling::AtomicChange for refactoring tools.
Summary:
An AtomicChange is used to create and group a set of source edits, e.g.
replacements or header insertions. Edits in an AtomicChange should be related,
e.g. replacements for the same type reference and the corresponding header
insertion/deletion.

An AtomicChange is uniquely identified by a key position and will either be
fully applied or not applied at all. The key position should be the location
of the key syntactical element that is being changed, e.g. the call to a
refactored method.

Next step: add a tool that applies AtomicChange.

Joerg Sonnenberger 399aea300f Extend CompilationDatabase by a field for the output filename
In bigger projects like an Operating System, the same source code is
often compiled in slightly different ways. This could be the difference
between PIC and non-PIC code for static vs dynamic libraries, it could
also be the difference between size optimised versions of tools for
ramdisk images. At the moment, the compilation database has no way to
distinguish such cases. As first step, add a field in the JSON format
for it and process it accordingly.

Summary:
No behavioral change intended. The change makes iterating the replacements set more intuitive in Replacements class implementation. Previously, insertion is ordered before an deletion/replacement with the same offset, which is counter-intuitive for implementation, especially for a followup patch to support adding insertions around replacements.

With the current ordering, we only need to make `applyAllReplacements` iterate the replacements set reversely when applying them so that deletion/replacement is still applied before insertion with the same offset.

Summary:
Extend `tooling::Replacements::add()` to support adding order-independent replacements.

Two replacements are considered order-independent if one of the following conditions is true:
  - They do not overlap. (This is already supported.)
  - One replacement is insertion, and the other is a replacement with
length > 0, and the insertion is adjecent to but not contained in the
other replacement. In this case, the replacement should always change
the original code instead of the inserted text.

Zachary Turner 9e60a2ad73 Resubmit "[Tooling] Parse compilation database command lines on Windows."
This patch introduced the ability to decide at runtime whether to parse
JSON compilation database command lines using Gnu syntax or Windows
syntax. However, there were many existing unit tests written that
hardcoded Gnu-specific paths. These tests were now failing because
the auto-detection logic was choosing to parse them using Windows
rules.

This resubmission of the patch fixes this by introducing an enum
which defines the syntax mode, which defaults to auto-detect, but
for which the unit tests force Gnu style parsing.

John Brawn 4d79ec7fe8 Reapply r276973 "Adjust Registry interface to not require plugins to export a registry"
This differs from the previous version by being more careful about template
instantiation/specialization in order to prevent errors when building with
clang -Werror. Specifically:
 * begin is not defined in the template and is instead instantiated when Head
is. I think the warning when we don't do that is wrong (PR28815) but for now
at least do it this way to avoid the warning.
 * Instead of performing template specializations in LLVM_INSTANTIATE_REGISTRY
instead provide a template definition then do explicit instantiation. No
compiler I've tried has problems with doing it the other way, but strictly
speaking it's not permitted by the C++ standard so better safe than sorry.

Original commit message:

Currently the Registry class contains the vestiges of a previous attempt to
allow plugins to be used on Windows without using BUILD_SHARED_LIBS, where a
plugin would have its own copy of a registry and export it to be imported by
the tool that's loading the plugin. This only works if the plugin is entirely
self-contained with the only interface between the plugin and tool being the
registry, and in particular this conflicts with how IR pass plugins work.

This patch changes things so that instead the add_node function of the registry
is exported by the tool and then imported by the plugin, which solves this
problem and also means that instead of every plugin having to export every
registry they use instead LLVM only has to export the add_node functions. This
allows plugins that use a registry to work on Windows if
LLVM_EXPORT_SYMBOLS_FOR_PLUGINS is used.

This version has two fixes compared to the original:

Manuel Klimek b12e5a5ccd Add functions to apply replacements and reformat them.
This is a commonly useful feature to have, and we have implemented it
multiple times with different kinds of bugs. This implementation
centralizes the idea in a set of functions that we can then use from the various
tools.

Reverts r262234, which is a revert of r262232, and puts the functions
into FOrmat.h, as they are closely coupled to clang-format, and we
otherwise introduce a cyclic dependency between libFormat and
libTooling.

Benjamin Kramer 9bccaa158a [Tooling] Add a utility function to replace one nested name with another.
One problem in clang-tidy and other clang tools face is that there is no
way to lookup an arbitrary name in the AST, that's buried deep inside Sema
and might not even be what the user wants as the new name may be freshly
inserted and not available in the AST.

A common use case for lookups is replacing one nested name with another
while minimizing namespace qualifications, so replacing 'ns::foo' with
'ns::bar' will use just 'bar' if we happen to be inside the namespace 'ns'.
This adds a little helper utility for exactly that use case.

Manuel Klimek 54042e743c Add structed way to express command line options in the compilation database.
Currently, arguments are passed via the string attribute 'command',
assuming a shell-escaped / quoted command line to extract the original
arguments. This works well enough on Unix systems, but turns out to be
problematic for Windows tools to generate.

This CL adds a new attribute 'arguments', an array of strings, which
specifies the exact command line arguments. If 'arguments' is available
in the compilation database, it is preferred to 'commands'.

Currently there is no plan to retire 'commands': there are enough
different use cases where users want to create their own mechanism for
creating compilation databases, that it doesn't make sense to force them
all to implement shell command line parsing.

David Blaikie cdba84c0d3 CompilationDatabase: Sure-up ownership of compilation databases using std::unique_ptr
Diving into the memory leaks fixed by r213851 there was one case of a
memory leak of a CompilationDatabase due to not properly taking
ownership of the result of "CompilationDatabase::autoDetectFromSource".
Given that both implementations and callers have been using unique_ptr
to own CompilationDatabase objects - make this explicit in the API to
reduce the risk of further leaks.

Alp Toker 0621cb2e7d Make clang's rewrite engine a core feature
The rewrite facility's footprint is small so it's not worth going to these
lengths to support disabling at configure time, particularly since key compiler
features now depend on it.

Meanwhile the Objective-C rewriters have been moved under the
ENABLE_CLANG_ARCMT umbrella for now as they're comparatively heavy and still
potentially worth excluding from lightweight builds.

Tests are now passing with any combination of feature flags. The flags
historically haven't been tested by LLVM's build servers so caveat emptor.

It isn't appropriate for a tool to be stomping over the dependency files,

If a tool actually needs to care about dependency files we can think about

NAKAMURA Takumi 7da9487dd4 [CMake] Get rid of explicit dependencies to include/clang/*.inc and introduce CLANG_TABLEGEN_TARGETS.
This does;
  - clang_tablegen() adds each tblgen'd target to global property CLANG_TABLEGEN_TARGETS as list.
  - List of targets is added to LLVM_COMMON_DEPENDS.
  - all clang libraries and targets depend on generated headers.

You might wonder this would be regression, but in fact, this is little loss.
  - Almost all of clang libraries depend on tblgen'd files and clang-tblgen.
  - clang-tblgen may cause short stall-out but doesn't cause unconditional rebuild.
  - Each library's dependencies to tblgen'd files might vary along headers' structure.
It made hard to track and update *really optimal* dependencies.

Each dependency to intrinsics_gen and ClangSACheckers is left as DEPENDS.

Peter Collingbourne c689ee76d4 Introduce ClangTool::buildASTs, and buildASTFromCode.
These allow clients to retrieve persistent AST objects (ASTUnits) which
can be used in an ad-hoc manner after parsing.

To accommodate this change, the code for processing a CompilerInvocation
using a FrontendAction has been factored out to FrontendActionFactory, and
a new base class, ToolAction, has been introduced, allowing the tool to do
arbitrary things with each CompilerInvocation. This change was necessary
because ASTUnit does not use the FrontendAction interface directly.

This change also causes the FileManager in ClangTool to use shared ownership.
This will become necessary because ASTUnit takes shared ownership of
FileManager (ClangTool's FileManager is currently unused by ASTUnit; this
is a FIXME). As shown in the tests, any client of ToolInvocation will
need to be modified to use shared ownership for FileManager.

Daniel Jasper ec04c0dba0 Add a more convenient interface to use clang-format.
It turns out that several implementations go through the trouble of
setting up a SourceManager and Lexer and abstracting this into a
function makes usage easier.

Also abstracts SourceManager-independent ranges out of
tooling::Refactoring and provides a convenience function to create them
from line ranges.

Edwin Vane 5038ac0fb8 Allow RefactoringTool to write to memory instead of always to disk
RefactoringTool::run() always writes the result of rewrites to disk.
Instead, make this optional and provide a method for getting the
refactoring results in a memory buffer instead.

Also made ClangTool polymorphic so RefactoringTool could inherit from it
to properly express the IS-A relationship. This change also provides
access to ClangTool's public interface, e.g. mapVirtualFile() which is
important once refactored buffers start living in memory instead of on
disk.

This required manually correcting all of the incorrect main-module

script over the files.

I also manually added quite a few missing headers that were uncovered by
shuffling the order or moving headers up to be main-module-headers.
