David Spickett 028571d608 [clang][Driver] Correct tool search path priority
Summary:
As seen in:
https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45693

When clang looks for a tool it has a set of
possible names for it, in priority order.
Previously it would look for these names in
the program path. Then look for all the names
in the PATH.

This means that aarch64-none-elf-gcc on the PATH
would lose to gcc in the program path.
(which was /usr/bin in the bug's case)

This changes that logic to search each name in both
possible locations, then move to the next name.
Which is more what you would expect to happen when
using a non default triple.

(-B prefixes maybe should follow this logic too,
but are not changed in this patch)

Vassil Vassilev 46ea465b5b Return false if the identifier is not in the global module index.
This allows clients to use the idiom:

if (GlobalIndex->lookupIdentifier(Name, FoundModules)) {
  // work on the FoundModules
}

This is also a minor performance improvent for clang.

Craig Topper 42c176c328 [X86] Add 'cooperlake' and 'tigerlake' to __builtin_cpu_is.
Cooperlake can be detect by compiler-rt now, but not libgcc yet.
Tigerlake can't be detected by either. Both names are accepted by
gcc. Hopefully the detection code will be in place soon.

Luboš Luňák 448bbc512f fix clang/PCH/delayed-pch-instantiate test

Luboš Luňák a45f713c67 add option to instantiate templates already in the PCH
Add -fpch-instantiate-templates which makes template instantiations be
performed already in the PCH instead of it being done in every single
file that uses the PCH (but every single file will still do it as well
in order to handle its own instantiations). I can see 20-30% build
time saved with the few tests I've tried.

The change may reorder compiler output and also generated code, but
should be generally safe and produce functionally identical code.
There are some rare cases that do not compile with it,
such as test/PCH/pch-instantiate-templates-forward-decl.cpp. If
template instantiation bailed out instead of reporting the error,
these instantiations could even be postponed, which would make them
work.

Enable this by default for clang-cl. MSVC creates PCHs by compiling
them using an empty .cpp file, which means templates are instantiated
while building the PCH and so the .h needs to be self-contained,
making test/PCH/pch-instantiate-templates-forward-decl.cpp to fail
with MSVC anyway. So the option being enabled for clang-cl matches this.

[clang][Serialization] Fix the serialization of ConstantExpr.
The serialization of ConstantExpr has currently a number of problems:

- Some fields are just not serialized (ConstantExprBits.APValueKind and
  ConstantExprBits.IsImmediateInvocation).

- ASTStmtReader::VisitConstantExpr forgets to add the trailing APValue
to the list of objects to be destroyed when the APValue needs cleanup.

While we are at it, bring the serialization of ConstantExpr more in-line
with what is done with the other expressions by doing the following NFCs:

- Get rid of ConstantExpr::DefaultInit. It is better to not initialize
the fields of an empty ConstantExpr since this will allow msan to
detect if a field was not deserialized.

- Move the initialization of the fields of ConstantExpr to the constructor;
ConstantExpr::Create allocates the memory and ConstantExpr::ConstantExpr
  is responsible for the initialization.

Review after commit since this is a straightforward mechanical fix
similar to the other serialization fixes.

Richard Smith c36b03e325 The type of a reference to a non-type template parameter pack should
not be a pack expansion type.

Using a pack expansion type for a pack declaration makes sense, but
general expressions should never have pack expansion types. If we have a
pack `T *...V`, then the type of `V` is the type `T *`, which contains
an unexpanded pack, and is a pointer type.

This allows us to better diagnose issues where a template is invalid due
to some non-dependent portion of a dependent type of a non-type template
parameter pack.

The LF_BUILDINFO therefore stores a full path to the compiler, the PWD (which is the CWD at program startup), a relative or absolute path to the TU, and the full CC1 command line. The command line needs to be freestanding (not depend on any environment variable). In the same way, MSVC doesn't store the provided command-line, but an expanded version (somehow their equivalent of CC1) which is also freestanding.

For more information see PR36198 and D43002.

[clang] Fix the serialization of LambdaExpr and the bogus mutation in LambdaExpr::getBody
The body of LambdaExpr is currently not properly serialized. Instead
LambdaExpr::getBody checks if the body has been already deserialized and if
not mutates LambdaExpr. This can be observed with an AST dump test, where
the body of the LambdaExpr will be null.

The mutation in LambdaExpr::getBody was left because of another bug: it is not
true that the body of a LambdaExpr is always a CompoundStmt; it can also be
a CoroutineBodyStmt wrapping a CompoundStmt. This is fixed by returning a
Stmt * from getBody and introducing a convenience function getCompoundStmtBody
which always returns a CompoundStmt *. This function can be used by callers who
do not care about the coroutine node.

Happily all but one user of getBody treat it as a Stmt * and so this change
is non-intrusive.

This better reflects what's going on (we're performing a substitution

I've not found a testcase where it matters in practice (largely because
we don't allow alias templates to be declared inside a function).

Richard Smith c7fbe2191b Fix rejects-valid when referencing an implicit operator== from within a
templated class.

When a defaulted operator<=> results in the injection of a defaulted
operator==, that operator== can be named by unqualified name within the
same class, even if the class is templated. To make this work, perform
the transform from defaulted operator<=> to defaulted operator== in the
template definition context instead of the template instantiation
context.

This results in our substituting into a declaration from a context where
we don't have a full list of template arguments (or indeed any), for
which we are now more careful to not spuriously instantiate declarations
that are not dependent on the arguments we're substituting.

This diagnostic (which defaults to an error, added in
95833f33bd) was intended to clearly
point out cases where the C++ ABI won't match the Microsoft C++ ABI,
for cases when this is enabled via a pragma over a region of code.

The MSVC compatible struct layout feature can also be enabled via a
compiler option (-mms-bitfields). If enabled that way, one essentially
can't compile any C++ code unless also building with
-Wno-incompatible-ms-struct (which GCC doesn't support, and projects
developed with GCC aren't setting).

For the MinGW target, it's expected that the C++ ABI won't match
the MSVC one, if this option is used for getting the struct
layout to match MSVC.

Richard Smith 237c2a23b6 DR458: Search template parameter scopes in the right order.
C++ unqualified name lookup searches template parameter scopes
immediately after finishing searching the entity the parameters belong
to. (Eg, for a class template, you search the template parameter scope
after looking in that class template and its base classes and before
looking in the scope containing the class template.) This is complicated
by the fact that scope lookup within a template parameter scope looks in
a different sequence of places prior to reaching the end of the
declarator-id in the template declaration.

We used to approximate the proper lookup rule with a hack in the scope /
decl context walk inside name lookup. Now we instead compute the lookup
parent for each template parameter scope. This gets the right answer and
as a bonus is substantially simpler and more uniform.

In order to get this right, we now make sure to enter a distinct Scope
for each template parameter scope. (The fact that we didn't before was
already a bug, but not really observable most of the time, since
template parameters can't shadow each other.)

A prior attempt to fix this in r280330 didn't handle the case where the

It is notable and worrying that the test case in this example forms a
redeclaration chain for a non-dependent variable that includes a
declaration with a dependent type. We should probably fix that too.

Currently HIP toolchain calls clang to emit bitcode then calls opt/llc for device compilation for the default -fno-gpu-rdc
case, which is unnecessary since clang is able to compile a single source file to ISA.

This patch fixes the HIP action builder and toolchain so that the default -fno-gpu-rdc can be done like a canonical
toolchain, i.e. one clang -cc1 invocation to compile source code to ISA.

This can avoid unnecessary processes to speed up the compilation, and avoid redundant LLVM passes which are
performed in clang -cc1 and opt.

In 1eddce41, I fixed a non-deterministic result problem by switching a
SmallPtrSet to a SmallSetVector to ensure we iterated it
deterministically. Unfortunately, this seems to show a surprisingly
significant compiletime impact.

This patch does 2 things in an attempt to fix this:

First, it makes the 'small size' optimization 4 instead of 2. As these
are pointers, this only increases the size of Sema by 4
sizeof(pointer)s (2 for the set, 2 for the vector).

Second, instead of using SmallSetVector, which is a SmallVector +
SmallDenseSet, it uses a SetVector of SmallVector + SmallPtrSet. The
hope is that the pointer-specific optimizations of the SmallPtrSet will
minimize the impact on compile-time.

in the AAPCS. Using a builtin type for the tuples is a purely
a choice of the Clang implementation.

When clang-format is run with option AllowShortBlocksOnASingleLine, it is expected to either succeed in putting the short block with its control statement on a single line or fail and leave the block as is. When brace wrapping after control statement is activated, if the block + the control statement length is superior to column limit but the block alone is not, clang-format puts the block in two lines: one for the control statement and one for the block. This patch removes this unexpected behaviour. Current unittests are updated to check for this behaviour.

Sam McCall 05ed3efc2a Handle delayed-template-parsing functions imported into a non-dtp TU
Summary:
DelayedTemplateParsing is marked as BENIGN_LANGOPT, so we are allowed to
use a delayed template in a non-delayed TU.
(This is clangd's default configuration on windows: delayed-template-parsing
is on for the preamble and forced off for the current file)

However today clang fails to parse implicit instantiations in a non-dtp
TU of templates defined in a dtp PCH file (and presumably module?).
In this case the delayed parser is not registered, so the function is
simply marked "delayed" again. We then hit an assert:
end of TU template instantiation should not create more late-parsed templates

Kirstóf Umann 33fb9cbe21 [analyzer][NFC] Don't allow dependency checkers to emit diagnostics
The thrilling conclusion to the barrage of patches I uploaded lately! This is a
big milestone towards the goal set out in http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/cfe-dev/2019-August/063070.html.
I hope to accompany this with a patch where the a coreModeling package is added,
from which package diagnostics aren't allowed either, is an implicit dependency
of all checkers, and the core package for the first time can be safely disabled.

Kirstóf Umann e22f1c02a2 [analyzer] Introduce weak dependencies to express *preferred* checker callback evaluation order
Checker dependencies were added D54438 to solve a bug where the checker names
were incorrectly registered, for example, InnerPointerChecker would incorrectly
emit diagnostics under the name MallocChecker, or vice versa [1]. Since the
system over the course of about a year matured, our expectations of what a role
of a dependency and a dependent checker should be crystallized a bit more --
D77474 and its summary, as well as a variety of patches in the stack
demonstrates how we try to keep dependencies to play a purely modeling role. In
fact, D78126 outright forbids diagnostics under a dependency checkers name.

These dependencies ensured the registration order and enabling only when all
dependencies are satisfied. This was a very "strong" contract however, that
doesn't fit the dependency added in D79420. As its summary suggests, this
relation is directly in between diagnostics, not modeling -- we'd prefer a more
specific warning over a general one.

To support this, I added a new dependency kind, weak dependencies. These are not
as strict of a contract, they only express a preference in registration order.
If a weak dependency isn't satisfied, the checker may still be enabled, but if
it is, checker registration, and transitively, checker callback evaluation order
is ensured.

If you are not familiar with the TableGen changes, a rather short description
can be found in the summary of D75360. A lengthier one is in D58065.

Alex Bradbury 3dcfd482cb [CodeGen] Increase applicability of ffine-grained-bitfield-accesses for targets with limited native integer widths
As pointed out in PR45708, -ffine-grained-bitfield-accesses doesn't
trigger in all cases you think it might for RISC-V. The logic in
CGRecordLowering::accumulateBitFields checks OffsetInRecord is a legal
integer according to the datalayout. RISC targets will typically only
have the native width as a legal integer type so this check will fail
for OffsetInRecord of 8 or 16 when you would expect the transformation
is still worthwhile.

This patch changes the logic to check for an OffsetInRecord of a at
least 1 byte, that fits in a legal integer, and is a power of 2. We
would prefer to query whether native load/store operations are
available, but I don't believe that is possible.

[clang] Convert a default argument expression to the parameter type...
...before checking that the default argument is valid with
CheckDefaultArgumentVisitor.

Currently the restrictions on a default argument are checked with the visitor
CheckDefaultArgumentVisitor in ActOnParamDefaultArgument before
performing the conversion to the parameter type in SetParamDefaultArgument.

This was fine before the previous patch but now some valid code post-CWG 2346
is rejected:

void test() {
  const int i2 = 0;
  extern void h2a(int x = i2); // FIXME: ok, not odr-use
  extern void h2b(int x = i2 + 0); // ok, not odr-use
}

This is because the reference to i2 in h2a has not been marked yet with
NOUR_Constant. i2 is marked NOUR_Constant when the conversion to the parameter
type is done, which is done just after.

The solution is to do the conversion to the parameter type before checking
the restrictions on default arguments with CheckDefaultArgumentVisitor.
This has the side-benefit of improving some diagnostics.

Marco Elver d3f89314ff [KernelAddressSanitizer] Make globals constructors compatible with kernel [v2]
[ v1 was reverted by c6ec352a6b due to
modpost failing; v2 fixes this. More info:
  https://github.com/ClangBuiltLinux/linux/issues/1045#issuecomment-640381783 ]

This makes -fsanitize=kernel-address emit the correct globals
constructors for the kernel. We had to do the following:

* Disable generation of constructors that rely on linker features such
  as dead-global elimination.

* Only instrument globals *not* in explicit sections. The kernel uses
sections for special globals, which we should not touch.

* Do not instrument globals that are prefixed with "__" nor that are
aliased by a symbol that is prefixed with "__". For example, modpost
relies on specially named aliases to find globals and checks their
contents. Unfortunately modpost relies on size stored as ELF debug info
and any padding of globals currently causes the debug info to cause size
reported to be *with* redzone which throws modpost off.

Bugzilla: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=203493

Tested:
* With 'clang/test/CodeGen/asan-globals.cpp'.

* With test_kasan.ko, we can see:

  	BUG: KASAN: global-out-of-bounds in kasan_global_oob+0xb3/0xba [test_kasan]

* allyesconfig, allmodconfig (x86_64)

Craig Topper d5c28c4094 [X86] Move CPUKind enum from clang to llvm/lib/Support. NFCI
Similar to what some other targets have done. This information
could be reused by other frontends so doesn't make sense to live
in clang.

-Rename CK_Generic to CK_None to better reflect its illegalness.
-Move function for translating from string to enum into llvm.
-Call checkCPUKind directly from the string to enum translation
and update CPU kind to CK_None accordinly. Caller will use CK_None
as sentinel for bad CPU.

I'm planning to move all the CPU to feature mapping out next. As
part of that I want to devise a better way to express CPUs inheriting
features from an earlier CPU. Allowing this to be expressed in a
less rigid way than just falling through a switch. Or using gotos
as we've had to do lately.

Erich Keane 113b0d7d0b PR46255: Fix field diagnostics for C records with anonymous members.
The ParseStructUnionBody function was separately keeping track of the
field decls for historical reasons, however the "ActOn" functions add
the field to the RecordDecl anyway.

The "ParseStructDeclaration" function, which handles parsing fields
didn't have a way of handling what happens on an anonymous field, and
changing it would alter a large amount of objc code, so I chose instead
to implement this by just filling the FieldDecls vector with the actual
FieldDecls that were successfully added to the recorddecl .

Saiyedul Islam 675cefbf60 [AMDGPU] Introduce Clang builtins to be mapped to AMDGCN atomic inc/dec intrinsics
Summary:
__builtin_amdgcn_atomic_inc32(int *Ptr, int Val, unsigned MemoryOrdering, const char *SyncScope)
__builtin_amdgcn_atomic_inc64(int64_t *Ptr, int64_t Val, unsigned MemoryOrdering, const char *SyncScope)
__builtin_amdgcn_atomic_dec32(int *Ptr, int Val, unsigned MemoryOrdering, const char *SyncScope)
__builtin_amdgcn_atomic_dec64(int64_t *Ptr, int64_t Val, unsigned MemoryOrdering, const char *SyncScope)

First and second arguments gets transparently passed to the amdgcn atomic
inc/dec intrinsic. Fifth argument of the intrinsic is set as true if the
first argument of the builtin is a volatile pointer. The third argument of
this builtin is one of the memory-ordering specifiers ATOMIC_ACQUIRE,
ATOMIC_RELEASE, ATOMIC_ACQ_REL, or ATOMIC_SEQ_CST following C++11 memory
model semantics. This is mapped to corresponding LLVM atomic memory ordering
for the atomic inc/dec instruction using CLANG atomic C ABI. The fourth
argument is an AMDGPU-specific synchronization scope defined as string.

Arthur Eubanks ce7d3e1c55 Reland (again) D80966 [codeview] Put !heapallocsite on calls to operator new
Check that getDebugInfo() is not null, as in the first revision, before
calling getDebugInfo()->addHeapAllocSiteMetadata().
Else would cause a crash with a new expression in a default arg.

---

Clang marks calls to operator new as heap allocation sites, but the
operator declared at global scope returns a void pointer. There is no
explicit cast in the code, so the compiler has to write down the
allocated type itself.

Also generalize a cast to use CallBase, so that we mark heap alloc sites
when exceptions are enabled.
