Apparently, the MSVC SDK has a strange implementation that
causes a number of implicit functions as well as a template member
function of the IUnknown type. This patch allows these as InterfaceLike
types as well.
Additionally, it corrects the behavior where extern-C++ wrapped around an
Interface-Like type would permit an interface-like type to exist in a namespace.

C11 standard refers to the unsigned counterpart of the type ptrdiff_t

In Clang (in PrintfFormatString.cpp, lines 508-510) there is a FIXME for this case,

it didn't emit any warnings on the code printf("%tu", 3.14).

ExternalASTMerger has hitherto relied on being able to look up
any Decl through its named DeclContext chain. This works for
many cases, but causes problems for function-local structs,
which cannot be looked up in their containing FunctionDecl. An
example case is
void f() {
{ struct S { int a; }; }
{ struct S { bool b; }; }
}
It is not possible to lookup either of the two Ses individually
(or even to provide enough information to disambiguate) after
parsing is over; and there is typically no need to, since they
are invisible to the outside world.
However, ExternalASTMerger needs to be able to complete either
S on demand. This led to an XFAIL on test/Import/local-struct,
which this patch removes. The way the patch works is:
It defines a new data structure, ExternalASTMerger::OriginMap,
which clients are expected to maintain (default-constructing
if the origin does not have an ExternalASTMerger servicing it)
As DeclContexts are imported, if they cannot be looked up by
name they are placed in the OriginMap. This allows
ExternalASTMerger to complete them later if necessary.
As DeclContexts are imported from an origin that already has
its own OriginMap, the origins are forwarded – but only for
those DeclContexts that are actually used. This keeps the
amount of stored data minimal.
The patch also applies several improvements from review:
- Thoroughly documents the interface to ExternalASTMerger;
- Adds optional logging to help track what's going on; and
- Cleans up a bunch of braces and dangling elses.

The SanitizerSpecialCaseList class has been added to allow querying by
SanitizerMask, and SanitizerBlacklist and its downstream users have been
updated to provide that information. Old blacklists not using sections
will continue to function identically since the blacklist entries will
be placed into a '[*]' section by default matching against all

This doesn't affect our code generation in any material way -- we already give
such declarations internal linkage from a codegen perspective -- but it has
some subtle effects on code validity.
We suppress the 'L' (internal linkage) marker for mangled names in anonymous
namespaces, because it is redundant (the information is already carried by the
namespace); this deviates from GCC's behavior if a variable or function in an
anonymous namespace is redundantly declared 'static' (where GCC does include
the 'L'), but GCC's behavior is incoherent because such a declaration can be
validly declared with or without the 'static'.
We still deviate from the standard in one regard here: extern "C" declarations
in anonymous namespaces are still granted external linkage. Changing those does
not appear to have been an intentional consequence of the standard change in
DR1113.
llvm-svn: 314037
This patch introduces a class that can help to build tools that require cross
translation unit facilities. This class allows function definitions to be loaded
from external AST files based on an index. In order to use this functionality an
index is required. The index format is a flat text file but it might be
replaced with a different solution in the near future. USRs are used as names to
look up the functions definitions. This class also does caching to avoid
redundant loading of AST files.
Right now only function defnitions can be loaded using this API because this is
what the in progress cross translation unit feature of the Static Analyzer
requires. In to future this might be extended to classes, types etc.

`id` needs to be handled specially since it is a `TypedefType` which is
sugar for an `ObjCObjectPointerType` whose pointee is an
`ObjCObjectType` with base `BuiltinType::ObjCIdType` and no protocols
and the first level of pointer gets it own type implementation. `Class`
is similar with the `ObjCClassType` as the base instead.
The qualifiers on the base type of the `ObjCObjectType` need to be
dropped because the innermost `mangleType` will handle the qualifiers
itself.
`id` is desugared to `struct objc_object *` which should be encoded as
`PAUobjc_object@@`. `Class` is desugared to `struct objc_class *` which
should be encoded as `PAUobjc_class@@`.
We were previously applying an extra modifier `A` which will be handled
during the recursive call.
This now properly decorates interface types as well as `Class` and `id`.
This corrects the interactions between C++ and ObjC++ for the type
specifier decoration.

This is patch 1 in a 2 patch series that aims to fix PR29160. Its goal
is to cache decl visibility/linkage for the duration of each
visibility+linkage query.
The simplest way I can see to do this is to put the visibility
calculation code that needs to (transitively) access this cache into a
class, which is what this patch does. Actual caching will come in patch
2. (Another way would be to keep the cache in ASTContext + manually
invalidate it or something, but that felt way too subtle to me.)
Caching visibility results across multiple queries seems a bit tricky,
since the user can add visibility attributes ~whenever they want, and
these attributes can apparently have far-reaching effects (e.g. class
visibility extends to its members, ...). Because a cache that's dropped
at the end of each top-level query seems to work nearly as well and
doesn't require any eviction logic, I opted for that design.

property and check for incompatible attributes
This commit changes the way ambiguous property synthesis (i.e. when synthesizing
a property that's declared in multiple protocols) is performed. Previously,
Clang synthesized the first property that was found. This lead to problems when
the property was synthesized in a class that conformed to two protocols that
declared that property and a second protocols had a 'readwrite' declaration -
the setter was not synthesized so the class didn't really conform to the second
protocol and user's code would crash at runtime when they would try to set the
property.
This commit ensures that a first readwrite property is selected. This is a
semantic change that changes users code in this manner:
```
@protocol P @property(readonly) int p; @end
@protocol P2 @property(readwrite) id p; @end
@interface I <P2> @end
@implementation I
@syntesize p; // Users previously got a warning here, and Clang synthesized
// readonly 'int p' here. Now Clang synthesizes readwrite 'id' p..
@end
```
To ensure that this change is safe, the warning about incompatible types is
promoted to an error when this kind of readonly/readwrite ambiguity is detected
in the @implementation. This will ensure that previous code that had this subtle
bug and ignored the warning now will fail to compile with an error, and users
should not get suprises at runtime once they resolve the error.
The commit also extends the ambiguity checker, and now it can detect conflicts
among the different property attributes. An error diagnostic is used for
conflicting attributes, to ensure that the user won't get "suprises" at runtime.
ProtocolPropertyMap is removed in favour of a a set + vector because the map's
order of iteration is non-deterministic, so it couldn't be used to select the
readwrite property.

In addition to the formal linkage rules, the Modules TS includes cases where
internal-linkage symbols within a module interface unit can be referenced from
outside the module via exported inline functions / templates. We give such
declarations "module-internal linkage", which is formally internal linkage, but
results in an externally-visible symbol.
llvm-svn: 307434
These cases occur frequently for declarations in the global module (above the

When generating the decorated name for a static variable inside a
BlockDecl, construct a scope for the block invocation function that
homes the parameter. This allows for arbitrary nesting of the blocks
even if the variables are shadowed. Furthermore, using this for the name
allows for undname to properly undecorated the name for us. It shows up
as the synthetic __block_invocation function that the compiler emitted
in the local scope.

This reverts commit r306137. It has problems on code like this:
struct __declspec(dllimport) Foo {
int a;
int get_a() { return a; }
};
template <int (Foo::*Getter)()> struct HasValue {
int operator()(Foo *p) { return (p->*Getter)(); }
};
int main() {
Foo f;
f.a = 3;
int x = HasValue<&Foo::get_a>()(&f);
}
llvm-svn: 306175
We were already applying the same rules to dllimport function pointers.
David Majnemer added that logic back in r211677 to fix PR20130. We
failed to extend that logic to non-virtual member function pointers,
which are basically function pointers in a struct with some extra
offsets.
Fixes PR33570.

declarations that are owned but unconditionally visible.
This allows us to set declarations as visible even if they have a local owning
module, without losing information. In turn, that means that our Objective-C
support can keep on incorrectly assuming the "hidden" bit on the declaration is
the whole story with regard to name visibility. This will also be useful once
we support the C++ Modules TS export semantics.
Objective-C name visibility is still incorrect in any case where the "hidden"
bit is not the complete story: for instance, in Objective-C++ the set of
visible categories will be wrong during template instantiation, and with local
submodule visibility enabled it will be wrong when building modules. Fixing that
will require a major overhaul of how visibility is handled for Objective-C (and
particularly for categories).

When discovering the initializer for A::a, the bounds of A::b aren't known yet.
It is unclear whether warning about errors should be deferred until the end of

The fix is that ExprEvaluatorBase::VisitInitListExpr should handle transparent exprs instead of exprs with one element. Fixing that uncovers one testcase failure because the AST for "constexpr _Complex float test2 = {1};" is wrong (the _Complex prvalue should not be const-qualified), and a number of test failures in test/OpenMP where the captured stmt contains an InitListExpr that is in syntactic form.

declarations and calls instead of just definitions, and then teach it to
*not* attach such attributes even if the source code contains them.
This follows the design direction discussed on cfe-dev here:
http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/cfe-dev/2017-January/052066.html
The idea is that for C standard library builtins, even if the library
vendor chooses to annotate their routines with __attribute__((nonnull)),
we will ignore those attributes which pertain to pointer arguments that
have an associated size. This allows the widespread (and seemingly
reasonable) pattern of calling these routines with a null pointer and
a zero size. I have only done this for the library builtins currently
recognized by Clang, but we can now trivially add to this set. This will
be controllable with -fno-builtin if anyone should care to do so.
Note that this does *not* change the AST. As a consequence, warnings,
static analysis, and source code rewriting are not impacted.
This isn't even a regression on any platform as neither Clang nor LLVM
have ever put 'nonnull' onto these arguments for declarations. All this
patch does is enable it on other declarations while preventing us from
ever accidentally enabling it on these libc functions due to a library
vendor.
It will also allow any other libraries using this annotation to gain
optimizations based on the annotation even when only a declaration is
visible.

1. Give better control over when enum-related warnings are issued.
For example, in the code below, clang will not issue a -Wassign-enum

enum __attribute__((enum_extensibility(closed))) EnumClosed {
B0 = 1, B1 = 10

enum __attribute__((enum_extensibility(open))) EnumOpen {
C0 = 1, C1 = 10

enum EnumClosed ec = 100; // warning issued
enum EnumOpen eo = 100; // no warning
2. Enable code-completion and debugging tools to offer better

3. Make it easier for swift's clang importer to determine which swift
type an enum should be mapped to.

The changes contained in this patch are:
1. Defines a new AST node `CoawaitDependentExpr` for representing co_await expressions while the promise type is still dependent.
2. Correctly detect and transform the 'co_await' operand to `p.await_transform(<expr>)` when possible.
3. Change the initial/final suspend points to build during the initial parse, so they have the correct operator co_await lookup results.
4. Fix transformation of the CoroutineBodyStmt so that it doesn't re-build the final/initial suspends.

The performSelector family of methods from Foundation use objc_msgSend to
dispatch the selector invocations to objects. However, method calls to methods
that return record types might have to use the objc_msgSend_stret as the return
value won't find into the register. This is also supported by this sentence from
performSelector documentation: "The method should not have a significant return

commit adds a new warning that warns when a selector which corresponds to a

Essentially, as a base class constructor does not construct virtual bases, such
a constructor for an abstract class does not need the corresponding base class
construction to be valid, and likewise for destructors.
This creates an awkward situation: clang will sometimes generate references to
the complete object and deleting destructors for an abstract class (it puts
them in the construction vtable for a derived class). But we can't generate a
"correct" version of these because we can't generate references to base class
constructors any more (if they're template specializations, say, we might not
have instantiated them and can't assume any other TU will emit a copy).
Fortunately, we don't need to, since no correct program can ever invoke them,
so instead emit symbols that just trap.
We should stop emitting references to these symbols, but still need to emit
definitions for compatibility.

This patch adds two fields for use in the implementation of 'distribute parallel for':
The increment expression for the distribute loop. As the chunk assigned to a team is executed by multiple threads within the 'parallel for' region, the increment expression has to correspond to the value returned by the related runtime call (for_static_init).
The upper bound of the innermost loop ('for' in 'distribute parallel for') is not the globalUB expression normally used for pragma 'for' when found in isolation. It is instead the upper bound of the chunk assigned to the team ('distribute' loop). In this way, we prevent teams from executing chunks assigned to other teams.
The use of these two fields can be see in a related explanatory patch:

A slightly weaker form of ODR checking than previous attempts, but hopefully
won't break the modules build bot. Future work will be needed to catch all
cases.
When objects are imported for modules, there is a chance that a name collision
will cause an ODR violation. Previously, only a small number of such
violations were detected. This patch provides a stronger check based on
AST nodes.
The information needed to uniquely identify an object is taken from the AST and
put into a one-dimensional byte stream. This stream is then hashed to give
a value to represent the object, which is stored with the other object data
in the module.
When modules are loaded, and Decl's are merged, the hash values of the two
Decl's are compared. Only Decl's with matched hash values will be merged.
Mismatch hashes will generate a module error, and if possible, point to the
first difference between the two objects.
The transform from AST to byte stream is a modified depth first algorithm.
Due to references between some AST nodes, a pure depth first algorithm could
generate loops. For Stmt nodes, a straight depth first processing occurs.
For Type and Decl nodes, they are replaced with an index number and only on
first visit will these nodes be processed. As an optimization, boolean
values are saved and stored together in reverse order at the end of the
byte stream to lower the ammount of data that needs to be hashed.
Compile time impact was measured at 1.5-2.0% during module building, and
negligible during builds without module building.

Enable evaluation of captures within constexpr lambdas by using a strategy similar to that used in CodeGen:
- when starting evaluation of a lambda's call operator, create a map from VarDecl's to a closure's FieldDecls
- every time a VarDecl (or '*this) that represents a capture is encountered while evaluating the expression via the expression evaluator (specifically the LValueEvaluator) in ExprConstant.cpp - it is replaced by the corresponding FieldDecl LValue (an Lvalue-to-Rvalue conversion on this LValue representation then determines the right rvalue when needed).

that has been explicitly specialized!
We assume in various places that we can tell the template specialization kind
of a class type by looking at the declaration produced by TagType::getDecl.
That was previously not quite true: for an explicit specialization, we could
have first seen a template-id denoting the specialization (with a use that does
not trigger an implicit instantiation of the defintiion) and then seen the
first explicit specialization declaration. TagType::getDecl would previously
return an arbitrary declaration when called on a not-yet-defined class; it
now consistently returns the most recent declaration in that case.

It looks like the only use of AddDeallocation is to indirectly call the

All of the other *::Common types have non-trivial dtors, so deleting the

such guides below explicit ones, and ensure that references to the class's
template parameters are not treated as forwarding references.
We make a few tweaks to the wording in the current standard:
1) The constructor parameter list is copied faithfully to the deduction guide,
without losing default arguments or a varargs ellipsis (which the standard
wording loses by omission).
2) If the class template declares no constructors, we add a T() -> T<...> guide
(which will only ever work if T has default arguments for all non-pack
template parameters).
3) If the class template declares nothing that looks like a copy or move
constructor, we add a T(T<...>) -> T<...> guide.
#2 and #3 follow from the "pretend we had a class type with these constructors"
philosophy for deduction guides.

Also, added a drive-by fix of initializing CoroutinePromise to nullptr in ScopeInfo.h.

effectively already checking for overflow because we strictly enforce array
bounds checks, but even there some forms of overflow can slip past undetected.

Under this defect resolution, the injected-class-name of a class or class
template cannot be used except in very limited circumstances (when declaring a
constructor, in a nested-name-specifier, in a base-specifier, or in an
elaborated-type-specifier). This is apparently done to make parsing easier, but
it's a pain for us since we don't know whether a template-id using the
injected-class-name is valid at the point when we annotate it (we don't yet
know whether the template-id will become part of an elaborated-type-specifier).
As a tentative resolution to a perceived language defect, mem-initializer-ids
are added to the list of exceptions here (they generally follow the same rules
as base-specifiers).
When the reference to the injected-class-name uses the 'typename' or 'template'
keywords, we permit it to be used to name a type or template as an extension;
other compilers also accept some cases in this area. There are also a couple of
corner cases with dependent template names that we do not yet diagnose, but
which will also get this treatment.

The if-clause on the combined directive potentially applies to both the
'target' and the 'parallel' regions. Codegen'ing the if-clause on the
combined directive requires additional support because the expression in
the clause must be captured by the 'target' capture statement but not
the 'parallel' capture statement. Note that this situation arises for
other clauses such as num_threads.
The OMPIfClause class inherits OMPClauseWithPreInit to support capturing
of expressions in the clause. A member CaptureRegion is added to
OMPClauseWithPreInit to indicate which captured statement (in this case
'target' but not 'parallel') captures these expressions.
To ensure correct codegen of captured expressions in the presence of
combined 'target' directives, OMPParallelScope was added to 'parallel'
codegen.

int f1 = foo(9);
int f2 = foo(10); // warning: configuration with a > 10 are expensive.

guaranteed to always be true. So, the following code will emit no
warnings:
```
Summary:
We compile user opencl kernel code with spir triple. But built-ins are written in OpenCL and we compile it with triple x86_64 to be able to use x86 intrinsics. And we need address spaces to match in both cases. So, we change fake address space map in OpenCL for matching with spir.
On CPU address spaces are not really important but we'd like to preserve address space information in order to perform optimizations relying on this info like enhanced alias analysis.
fail the merge if the arguments have different types (except if one of them was
deduced from an array bound, in which case take the type from the other).
This is correct because (except in the array bound case) the type of the
template argument in each deduction must match the type of the parameter, so at
least one of the two deduced arguments must have a mismatched type.
This is necessary because we would otherwise lose the type information for the
discarded template argument in the merge, and fail to diagnose the mismatch.
In order to power this, we now properly retain the type of a deduced non-type
template argument deduced from a declaration, rather than giving it the type of
the template parameter; we'll convert it to the template parameter type when
checking the deduced arguments.
This is a recommit of r290149, which was reverted in r290169 due to msan
failures. msan was failing because we were calling
`isMostDerivedAnUnsizedArray` on an invalid designator, which caused us
to read uninitialized memory. To fix this, the logic of the caller of
said function was simplified, and we now have a `!Invalid` assert in
`isMostDerivedAnUnsizedArray`, so we can catch this particular bug more
easily in the future.
Fingers crossed that this patch sticks this time. :)
* ArrayInitLoopExpr is a prvalue of array type with two subexpressions:
a common expression (an OpaqueValueExpr) that represents the up-front
computation of the source of the initialization, and a subexpression
representing a per-element initializer
* ArrayInitIndexExpr is a prvalue of type size_t representing the current
position in the loop
This will be used to replace the creation of explicit index variables in lambda
capture of arrays and copy/move construction of classes with array elements,
and also C++17 structured bindings of arrays by value (which inexplicably allow
copying an array by value, unlike all of C++'s other array declarations).
No uses of these nodes are introduced by this change, however.
In amdgcn target, null pointers in global, constant, and generic address space take value 0 but null pointers in private and local address space take value -1. Currently LLVM assumes all null pointers take value 0, which results in incorrectly translated IR. To workaround this issue, instead of emit null pointers in local and private address space, a null pointer in generic address space is emitted and casted to local and private address space.
Tentative definition of global variables with non-zero initializer will have weak linkage instead of common linkage since common linkage requires zero initializer and does not have explicit section to hold the non-zero value.
Virtual member functions getNullPointer and performAddrSpaceCast are added to TargetCodeGenInfo which by default returns ConstantPointerNull and emitting addrspacecast instruction. A virtual member function getNullPointerValue is added to TargetInfo which by default returns 0. Each target can override these virtual functions to get target specific null pointer and the null pointer value for specific address space, and perform specific translations for addrspacecast.
Wrapper functions getNullPointer is added to CodegenModule and getTargetNullPointerValue is added to ASTContext to facilitate getting the target specific null pointers and their values.
This change has no effect on other targets except amdgcn target. Other targets can provide support of non-zero null pointer in a similar way.
This change only provides support for non-zero null pointer for C and OpenCL. Supporting for other languages will be added later incrementally.
mirror the description in the standard. Per DR1295, this means that binding a
const / rvalue reference to a bit-field no longer "binds directly", and per
P0135R1, this means that we materialize a temporary in reference binding
after adjusting cv-qualifiers and before performing a derived-to-base cast.
In C++11 onwards, this should have fixed the last case where we would
materialize a temporary of the wrong type (with a subobject adjustment inside
the MaterializeTemporaryExpr instead of outside), but we still have to deal
with that possibility in C++98, unless we want to start using xvalues to
represent materialized temporaries there too.
llvm-svn: 289250
This saves two pointers from FunctionDecl that were being used for some
rare and questionable C-only functionality. The DeclsInPrototypeScope
ArrayRef was added in r151712 in order to parse this kind of C code:
enum e {x, y};
int f(enum {y, x} n) {
return x; // should return 1, not 0
}
The challenge is that we parse 'int f(enum {y, x} n)' it its own
function prototype scope that gets popped before we build the
FunctionDecl for 'f'. The original change was doing two questionable
things:
1. Saving all tag decls introduced in prototype scope on a TU-global
Sema variable. This is problematic when you have cases like this, where
'x' and 'y' shouldn't be visible in 'f':
void f(void (*fp)(enum { x, y } e)) { /* no x */ }
This patch fixes that, so now 'f' can't see 'x', which is consistent
with GCC.
2. Storing the decls in FunctionDecl in ActOnFunctionDeclarator so that
they could be used in ActOnStartOfFunctionDef. This is just an
inefficient way to move information around. The AST lives forever, but
the list of non-parameter decls in prototype scope is short lived.
Moving these things to the Declarator solves both of these issues.
Since array parameters decay to pointers, '_Nullable' and friends
should be available for use there as well. This is especially
important for parameters that are typedefs of arrays. The unsugared
syntax for this follows the syntax for 'static'-sized arrays in C:
void test(int values[_Nullable]);
This syntax was previously accepted but the '_Nullable' (and any other
attributes) were silently discarded. However, applying '_Nullable' to
a typedef was previously rejected and is now accepted; therefore, it
may be necessary to test for the presence of this feature:
#if __has_feature(nullability_on_arrays)
One important change here is that DecayedTypes don't always
immediately contain PointerTypes anymore; they may contain an
AttributedType instead. This only affected one place in-tree, so I
would guess it's not likely to cause problems elsewhere.
This commit does not change -Wnullability-completeness just yet. I
want to think about whether it's worth doing something special to
avoid breaking existing clients that compile with -Werror. It also
doesn't change '#pragma clang assume_nonnull' behavior, which
currently treats the following two declarations as equivalent:
#pragma clang assume_nonnull begin
void test(void *pointers[]);
#pragma clang assume_nonnull end
void test(void * _Nonnull pointers[]);
This is not the desired behavior, but changing it would break
backwards-compatibility. Most likely the best answer is going to be
adding a new warning.
This has the following ABI impact:
1) Functions whose parameter or return types are non-throwing function pointer
types have different manglings in c++1z mode from prior modes. This is
necessary because c++1z permits overloading on the noexceptness of function
pointer parameter types. A warning is issued for cases that will change
manglings in c++1z mode.
2) Functions whose parameter or return types contain instantiation-dependent
exception specifications change manglings in all modes. This is necessary
to support overloading on / SFINAE in these exception specifications, which
a careful reading of the standard indicates has essentially always been
permitted.
Note that, in order to be affected by these changes, the code in question must
specify an exception specification on a function pointer/reference type that is
written syntactically within the declaration of another function. Such
declarations are very rare, and I have so far been unable to find any code
that would be affected by this. (Note that such things will probably become
more common in C++17, since it's a lot easier to get a noexcept function type
as a function parameter / return type there.)
Summary:
Emitting deferred diagnostics during codegen was a hack. It did work,
but usability was poor, both for us as compiler devs and for users. We
don't codegen if there are any sema errors, so for users this meant that
they wouldn't see deferred errors if there were any non-deferred errors.
For devs, this meant that we had to carefully split up our tests so that
when we tested deferred errors, we didn't emit any non-deferred errors.
This change moves checking for deferred errors into Sema. See the big
comment in SemaCUDA.cpp for an overview of the idea.
This checking adds overhead to compilation, because we have to maintain
a partial call graph. As a result, this change makes deferred errors a
CUDA-only concept (whereas before they were a general concept). If
anyone else wants to use this framework for something other than CUDA,
we can generalize at that time.
This patch makes the minimal set of test changes -- after this lands,
I'll go back through and do a cleanup of the tests that we no longer
have to split up.
For ObjC type parameter, we used to have TypedefType that is canonicalized to
id or the bound type. We can't represent "T <protocol>" and thus will lose
the type information in the following example:
@interface MyMutableDictionary<KeyType, ObjectType> : NSObject
- (void)setObject:(ObjectType)obj forKeyedSubscript:(KeyType <NSCopying>)key;
@end
MyMutableDictionary<NSString *, NSString *> *stringsByString;
NSNumber *n1, *n2;
stringsByString[n1] = n2;
--> no warning on type mismatch of the key.
To fix the problem, we introduce a new type ObjCTypeParamType that supports
a list of protocol qualifiers.
We create ObjCTypeParamType for ObjCTypeParamDecl when we create
ObjCTypeParamDecl. We also substitute ObjCTypeParamType instead of TypedefType
on an ObjCTypeParamDecl.
We also need to add ObjCTypeParamTypeLoc. ObjCTypeParamType supports the
representation of "T <protocol>" where T is a type parameter. Before this,
we use TypedefType to represent the type parameter for ObjC.
ObjCTypeParamType has "ObjCTypeParamDecl *OTPDecl" and it extends from
ObjCProtocolQualifiers. It is a non-canonical type and is canonicalized
to the underlying type with the protocol qualifiers.
To construct the canonical type of ObjCTypeParamType, we need to apply
qualifiers on ObjCObjectPointerType. The updated applyObjCProtocolQualifiers
handles this case by merging the protocol lists, constructing a new
ObjCObjectType, then a new ObjCObjectPointerType.
Now ObjCObjectType extends from ObjCProtocolQualifiers. We save number of
protocols in ObjCProtocolQualifiers.
This is in preparation of adding a new type class ObjCTypeParamType that
can take protocol qualifiers.
This patch makes us act more conservatively when trying to determine
the objectsize for an array at the end of an object. This is in
response to code like the following:
```
struct sockaddr {
/* snip */
char sa_data[14];
};
void foo(const char *s) {
size_t slen = strlen(s) + 1;
size_t added_len = slen <= 14 ? 0 : slen - 14;
struct sockaddr *sa = malloc(sizeof(struct sockaddr) + added_len);
strcpy(sa->sa_data, s);
// ...
}
```
`__builtin_object_size(sa->sa_data, 1)` would return 14, when there
could be more than 14 bytes at `sa->sa_data`.
Code like this is apparently not uncommon. FreeBSD's manual even
explicitly mentions this pattern:
https://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/books/developers-handbook/sockets-essential-functions.html
(section 7.5.1.1.2).
In light of this, we now just give up on any array at the end of an
object if we can't find the object's initial allocation.
I lack numbers for how much more conservative we actually become as a
result of this change, so I chose the fix that would make us as
compatible with GCC as possible. If we want to be more aggressive, I'm
happy to consider some kind of whitelist or something instead.
Emit proper diagnostics when -Wdocumentation is used with constructs such as:
template<typename T>
using fn = int(T aaa, int ccc);
Previously clang wouldn't recognize the function and complain with
Summary:
This patch lets you create diagnostics that are emitted if and only if a
particular FunctionDecl is codegen'ed.
This is necessary for CUDA, where some constructs -- e.g. calls from
host+device functions to host functions when compiling for device -- are
allowed to appear in semantically-correct programs, but only if they're
never codegen'ed.
