Douglas Gregor c0b07286cf When 'bool' is not a built-in type but is defined as a macro, print
'bool' rather than '_Bool' within types, to make things a bit more
readable. Fixes <rdar://problem/10063263>.

Douglas Gregor 486b74e596 Revert r139989 and r140031, which implemented the Objective-C type
system change in <rdar://problem/10109725> that allows conversion from
'self' in class methods to the root of the class's hierarchy. This
conversion rule is a hack that has non-trivial repurcussions
(particularly with overload resolution).

Chandler Carruth 374eaa9c4e Add back support for a manually formatted section of the diagnostic
message. Specifically, we now only line-wrap the first line of te
diagnostic message and assume the remainder is manually formatted. While
adding it back, simplify the logic for doing this.

Finally, add a test that ensures we actually preserve this feature. =D
*Now* its not dead code. Thanks to Doug for the test case.

Chandler Carruth 577372ea15 Hoist and beef up the asserts about the level of infrastructure expected
when working with a diagnostic attached to a source location. Also
comment more thoroughly why its important to handle non-location
diagnostic messages separately.

Finally, hoist the creation of the TextDiagnostic object up to the
beginning of the location-based diagnostics. This paves the way for
sinking more and more of the logic into this class. When everything
below this constructor is sunk into the TextDiagnostic class it should
be sufficiently "feature complete" to accomplish my two goals:
1) Have the printing of a macro expansion note use the exact same code
   as any other note.
2) Be able to implement clang_formatDiagnostic in terms of this class.

Chandler Carruth 2be992d570 Switch the emission of diagnostics without a source location to
a dedicated path. The logic for such diagnostics is much simpler than
for others.

This begins to make an important separation in this routine. We expect
most (and most interesting) textual diagnostics to be made in the
presence of at least *some* source locations and a source manager.
However the DiagnosticConsumer must be prepared to diagnose errors even
when the source manager doesn't (yet) exist or when there is no location
information at all. In order to sink more and more logic into the
TextDiagnostic class while minimizing its complexity, my plan is to
force the DiagnosticConsumer to special case diagnosing any locationless
messages and then hand the rest to the TextDiagnostic class. I'd
appreciate any comments on this design. It requires a bit of code
duplication in order to keep interfaces simple. Alternatively, if we
really need TextDiagnostic to be capable of handling diagnostics even in
the absence of a viable SourceManager, then this split isn't necessary.

Chandler Carruth c0fe585e0c Extract the actual printing of the message string into a helper
function. Doing this conveniently requires moving the word wrapping to
use a StringRef which seems generally an improvement. There is a lot
that could be simplified in the word wrapping by using StringRef that
I haven't looked at yet...

Argyrios Kyrtzidis 4cdfcae75d Don't map a file:line:col triplet that is inside the preamble range to
a "loaded" location of the precompiled preamble.

Instead, handle specially locations of preprocessed entities:
-When looking up for preprocessed entities, map main file locations inside the
 preamble range to a preamble loaded location.
-When getting the source range of a preprocessing cursor, map preamble loaded
 locations back to main file locations.

Chandler Carruth d16b42ef92 Remove support for splitting word-wrapped diagnostic messages on newline
characters. I could find no newline character in a diagnostic message,
and adding an assert to this code never fires in the testsuite.

I think this code is essentially dead, and was previously used for
a different purpose. If I just don't understand how it is we can end up
with a newline here please let me know (with a test case?) and I'll
revert.

Chandler Carruth 84f361950f Shuffle some names around. 'CaretDiagnostic' is inaccurate as this needs
to handle non-caret diagnostics as well in order to be fully useful in
libclang etc. Also sketch out some more of my plans on this refactoring.

Chandler Carruth 3236f0d25c Actually remove the members of CaretDiagnostic no longer in use for
tracking the start and stop of macro expansion suppression. Also remove
the Columns variable which was just a convenience variable based on
DiagOpts. Instead we materialize it in the one piece of code that cared.

Chandler Carruth cb8f82a8e5 Sink the logic for suppressing some macro expansion notes from the
TextDiagnosticPrinter into the CaretDiagnostic class. Several
interesting results from this:

- This removes a significant per-diagnostic bit of state from the
  CaretDiagnostic class, which should eventually allow us to re-use the
  object.
- It removes a redundant recursive walk of the macro expansion stack
  just to compute the depth. We don't need the depth until we're
  unwinding anyways, so we can just mark when we reach it.
- It also paves the way for several simplifications we can do to how we
  implement the suppression.

Sebastian Redl a72462cdf4 Add a special note for overload resolution when an initializer list argument
cannot be converted.
This is in preparation for overload resolution of initializer lists.
Currently, you will always get this message when you try to pass an init
list to an overloaded function.

Sebastian Redl a74948d347 Correctly parse braced member initializers (even in delayed parsing) and correctly pass
the information on to Sema. There's still an incorrectness in the way template instantiation
works now, but that is due to a far larger underlying representational problem.
Also add a test case for various list initialization cases of scalars, which test this
commit as well as the previous one.

Sebastian Redl b49c46c25c Give InitListChecker a verification-only mode, where it neither emits diagnostics nor
builds a semantic (structured) initializer list, just reports on whether it can match
the given list to the target type.
Use this mode for doing init list checking in the initial step of initialization, which
will eventually allow us to do overload resolution based on the outcome.

Francois Pichet d8e4e41301 [microsoft] In Microsoft mode, if we are inside a template class member function and we can't resolve an identifier then assume the identifier is type dependent. The goal is to postpone name lookup to instantiation time to be able to search into type dependent base classes.
This fixes a few errors when parsing MFC code with clang.
BTW clang trunk is now about 5 patches away to be able the parse the default wizard-generated MFC project.

Matt Beaumont-Gay d0457924e3 Fix a crash-on-invalid.
The token stream was not getting properly reset when leaving
ParseLexedMethodDef in some error cases. In the testcase, that caused later
accesses to the token stream to touch memory which had been freed as we
finished parsing the class definition. Major hat-tip to AddressSanitizer for
helping pinpoint the use-after-free, including the allocation and deallocation
points:

Daniel Dunbar 10d398f894 Driver: Add a --working-directory option which can be used to cause the compiler
to operate "as if" in a certain working directory.
 - For now, we just implement this by changing the actual working directory, but
   eventually we would want to handle this transparently. This is useful to
   avoid an extra exec() pair in some situations, and will be something we would
   want to support for more flexibility in using the Clang libraries.

Francois Pichet 8134518331 [microsoft] Fix a bug in -fdelayed-template-parsing mode where we were not reentering the delayed function context correctly. The problem was that all template params were reintroduced inside the same scope. So if we had a situation where we had 2 template params with the same name at different scope then clang would generate an error about ambiguous name.
The solution is to create a new ParseScope(Scope::TemplateParamScope) for each template scope that we want to reenter. (from the outmost to the innermost scope)

This fixes some errors when parsing MFC code with clang.

Benjamin Kramer 8404eb0bad Add support for CPATH and friends.
This moves the existing code for CPATH into the driver and adds the environment lookup and path splitting there.
The paths are then passed down to cc1 with -I options (CPATH), added after the normal user-specified include dirs.
Language specific paths are passed via -LANG-isystem and the actual filtering is performed in the frontend.

I tried to match GCC's behavior as close as possible

Anna Zaks 9db35a8750 ST->scanReachableSymbols() is creating a SubRegionMap (SRM) on every call since one SRM is created in each ScanReachableSymbols instance. Creating the object just once and calling only scan inside the loop gives ~ 14% speed up of the StaticAnalyzer run (Release+Asserts).
Pull out the declaration of the ScanReachableSymbols so that it can be used directly. Document ProgramState::scanReachableSymbols() methods.

OpenCL 6.2.1 says: "Implicit conversions between built-in vector data types are
disallowed."  OpenCL 6.2.2 says: "Explicit casts between vector types are not

Tobias Grosser 0a3a22fe66 In the OpenCL mode, the AltiVec mode must be off and checks must be strict
OpenCL is different from AltiVec in the way it supports vector literals.  OpenCL
is strict with regards to semantic checks.  For example, implicit conversions
and explicit casts between vectors of different types are disallowed.

John McCall cbc038a6c3 ANSI C requires that a call to an unprototyped function type succeed
if the definition has a non-variadic prototype with compatible
parameters.  Therefore, the default rule for such calls must be to
use a non-variadic convention.  Achieve this by casting the callee to
the function type with which it is required to be compatible, unless
the target specifically opts out and insists that unprototyped calls
should use the variadic rules.  The only case of that I'm aware of is
the x86-64 convention, which passes arguments the same way in both
cases but also sets a small amount of extra information;  here we seek
to maintain compatibility with GCC, which does set this when calling
an unprototyped function.

Bob Wilson 3e42bc55db For i386 kext fallback to llvm-gcc, search paths for several Darwin versions.
This replaces the hack to read UNAME_RELEASE from the environment when
identifying the OS version on Darwin, and it's more flexible.  It's also
horribly ugly, but at least this consolidates the ugliness to touch less of
the code so that it will be easier to rip out later.

Chandler Carruth 9a797578dc Fix a pretty nasty bug in noreturn destructors that cascaded into lots
of false positive warnings that depend on noreturn destructors pruning
the CFGs, but only in C++0x mode!

This was really surprising as the debugger quickly reveals that the
attributes are parsed correctly (and using the same code) in both modes.
The warning fires in the same way in both modes. But between parsing and
building the destructor declaration with the noreturn attribute and the
warning, it magically disappears. The key? The 'noexcept' appears!

When we were rebuilding the destructor type with the computed implicit
noexcept we completely dropped the old type on the floor. This almost
makes sense (as the arguments and return type to a destructor aren't
exactly unpredictable), but lost any function type attributes as well.
The fix is simple, we build the new type off of the old one rather than
starting fresh.

Testing this is a bit awkward. I've done it by running the
noreturn-sensitive tests in both modes, which previous failed and now
passes, but if anyone has ideas about how to more specifically and
thoroughly test that the extended info on a destructor is preserved when
adding noexcept, I'm all ears.

check for the landingpad instruction instead. This check looks at each of the
clauses in the landingpad instruction. If it's a catch clause, it compares the
name directly with the global. If it's a filter clause, it has to look through
each value in the filer to see if any have the prefix.

Argyrios Kyrtzidis 64f6381097 Introduce PreprocessingRecord::getPreprocessedEntitiesInRange()
which will do a binary search and return a pair of iterators
for preprocessed entities in the given source range.

Source ranges of preprocessed entities are stored twice currently in
the PCH/Module file but this will be fixed in a subsequent commit.

Bill Wendling f0724e8e06 Throw the switch to convert clang to the new exception handling model!
This model uses the 'landingpad' instruction, which is pinned to the top of the
landing pad. (A landing pad is defined as the destination of the unwind branch
of an invoke instruction.) All of the information needed to generate the correct
exception handling metadata during code generation is encoded into the
landingpad instruction.

The new 'resume' instruction takes the place of the llvm.eh.resume intrinsic
call. It's lowered in much the same way as the intrinsic is.

Richard Trieu 01fc001062 Changes to the name lookup have caused a regression in the digraph fix-it hint.
For instance:

template <class T> void E() {};
class F {};

void test() {
 ::E<::F>();
 E<::F>();
}

Gives the following error messages:

error: found '<::' after a template name which forms the
     digraph '<:' (aka '[') and a ':', did you mean '< ::'?
 ::E<::F>();
    ^~~
    < ::
error: expected expression
 E<::F>();
    ^
error: expected ']'
note: to match this '['
 E<::F>();

This patch adds the digraph fix-it check right before the name lookup,
moves the shared checking code to a new function, and adds new
tests to catch future regressions.

Matt Beaumont-Gay dcaacaa190 Fix a QoI bug with overloaded operators inside macros.
We were failing to set source locations and ranges in isUnusedResultAWarning
for CXXOperatorCallExprs, leading to an "expression result unused" warning
with absolutely no context if the expression was inside a macro.

Francois Pichet 08d2fa0a78 In Microsoft mode(-fms-compatibility), prefer an integral conversion to a floating-to-integral conversion if the integral conversion is between types of the same size.
For example:
 void f(float);
 void f(int);
 int main {
    long a;
    f(a);
 }
Here, MSVC will call f(int) instead of generating a compile error as clang will do in standard mode.
This fixes a few errors when parsing MFC code with clang.

Francois Pichet 0706d203cf Rename LangOptions::Microsoft to LangOptions::MicrosoftExt to make it clear that this flag must be used only for Microsoft extensions and not emulation; to avoid confusion with the new LangOptions::MicrosoftMode flag.
Many of the code now under LangOptions::MicrosoftExt will eventually be moved under the LangOptions::MicrosoftMode flag.

Microsoft specific tweaking will now fall into 2 categories:

    - fms-extension: Microsoft specific extensions that should never change the meaning of an otherwise well formed code. Currently map to LangOptions::Microsoft. (To be clearer, I am planning to change the name to LangOptions::MicrosoftExt).

    - fms-compatibility: Really a MSVC emulation mode. Map to LangOptions::MicrosoftMode. Can change the meaning of an otherwise standard conformant program.

arbitrary amount of code. This forces us to stage the AST writer more
strictly, ensuring that we don't assign a declaration ID to a
declaration until after we're certain that no more modules will get
loaded.

Ted Kremenek 459597a6eb Fix massive LiveVariables regression (due to LiveVariables rewrite) by addressing two performance problems:
- Speed of "merge()", which merged data flow facts.  This was doing a set canonicalization on every insertion, which was super slow.
  To fix this, we use ImmutableSetRef.

- Visit CFGBlocks in reverse postorder.  This is a huge speedup, as on some test cases the algorithm would take many iterations
  to converge.

This contains a bunch of copy-paste from UninitializedValues.cpp and ThreadSafety.cpp.  The idea
was to get something working first, and then refactor the common logic for all three files into
a separate analysis/library entry point.

Anna Zaks efd182d992 [analyzer] Refactor: make PathDiagnosticLocation responsible for validation of SourceLocations (commit 5 of ?):
- Get rid of PathDiagnosticLocation(SourceRange r,..) constructor by providing a bunch of create methods.
 - The PathDiagnosticLocation(SourceLocation L,..), which is used by crate methods, will eventually become private.
 - Test difference is in the case when the report starts at the beginning of the function. We used to represent that point as a range of the very first token in the first statement. Now, it's just a single location representing the first character of the first statement.

Argyrios Kyrtzidis 03c40c5182 [PCH] Overhaul how preprocessed entities are [de]serialized.
-Use an array of offsets for all preprocessed entities
-Get rid of the separate array of offsets for just macro definitions;
 for references to macro definitions use an index inside the preprocessed
 entities array.
-Deserialize each preprocessed entity lazily, at first request; not in bulk.

Paves the way for binary searching of preprocessed entities that will offer
efficiency and will simplify things on the libclang side a lot.
