Francis Visoiu Mistrih b7cef81fd3 Replace "no-frame-pointer-*" function attributes with "frame-pointer"
Part of the effort to refactoring frame pointer code generation. We used
to use two function attributes "no-frame-pointer-elim" and
"no-frame-pointer-elim-non-leaf" to represent three kinds of frame
pointer usage: (all) frames use frame pointer, (non-leaf) frames use
frame pointer, (none) frame use frame pointer. This CL makes the idea
explicit by using only one enum function attribute "frame-pointer"

Option "-frame-pointer=" replaces "-disable-fp-elim" for tools such as
llc.

"no-frame-pointer-elim" and "no-frame-pointer-elim-non-leaf" are still
supported for easy migration to "frame-pointer".

tests are mostly updated with

// replace command line args ‘-disable-fp-elim=false’ with ‘-frame-pointer=none’
grep -iIrnl '\-disable-fp-elim=false' * | xargs sed -i '' -e "s/-disable-fp-elim=false/-frame-pointer=none/g"

// replace command line args ‘-disable-fp-elim’ with ‘-frame-pointer=all’
grep -iIrnl '\-disable-fp-elim' * | xargs sed -i '' -e "s/-disable-fp-elim/-frame-pointer=all/g"

Kit Barton 7c80f98b69 [PPC] Remove Darwin support from POWER backend.
This patch issues an error message if Darwin ABI is attempted with the PPC
backend. It also cleans up existing test cases, either converting the test to
use an alternative triple or removing the test if the coverage is no longer
needed.

Updated Tests
-------------
The majority of test cases were updated to use a different triple that does not
include the Darwin ABI. Many tests were also updated to use FileCheck, in place
of grep.

Deleted Tests
-------------
llvm/test/tools/dsymutil/PowerPC/sibling.test was originally added to test
specific functionality of dsymutil using an object file created with an old
version of llvm-gcc for a Powerbook G4. After a discussion with @JDevlieghere he
suggested removing the test.

llvm/test/CodeGen/PowerPC/combine_loads_from_build_pair.ll was converted from a
PPC test to a SystemZ test, as the behavior is also reproducible there.

All other tests that were deleted were specific to the darwin/ppc ABI and no
longer necessary.

Ehsan Amiri a538b0f023 Adding -verify-machineinstrs option to PowerPC tests
Currently we have a number of tests that fail with -verify-machineinstrs.
To detect this cases earlier we add the option to the testcases with the
exception of tests that will currently fail with this option. PR 27456 keeps
track of this failures.

No code review, as discussed with Hal Finkel.

David Blaikie a79ac14fa6 [opaque pointer type] Add textual IR support for explicit type parameter to load instruction
Essentially the same as the GEP change in r230786.

A similar migration script can be used to update test cases, though a few more
test case improvements/changes were required this time around: (r229269-r229278)

import fileinput
import sys
import re

pat = re.compile(r"((?:=|:|^)\s*load (?:atomic )?(?:volatile )?(.*?))(| addrspace\(\d+\) *)\*($| *(?:%|@|null|undef|blockaddress|getelementptr|addrspacecast|bitcast|inttoptr|\[\[[a-zA-Z]|\{\{).*$)")

for line in sys.stdin:
  sys.stdout.write(re.sub(pat, r"\1, \2\3*\4", line))

Dale Johannesen 5ece8f0a20 Do not store R31 into the caller's link area on PPC.
This violates the ABI (that area is "reserved"), and
while it is safe if all code is generated with current
compilers, there is some very old code around that uses
that slot for something else, and breaks if it is stored
into. Adjust testcases looking for current behavior.
I've verified that the stack frame size is right in all
testcases, whether it changed or not. 7311323.

Bill Wendling fc9469f311 Modify how the prologue encoded the "move" information for the FDE. GCC
generates a sequence similar to this:

__Z4funci:
LFB2:
        mflr r0
LCFI0:
        stmw r30,-8(r1)
LCFI1:
        stw r0,8(r1)
LCFI2:
        stwu r1,-80(r1)
LCFI3:
        mr r30,r1
LCFI4:

where LCFI3 and LCFI4 are used by the FDE to indicate what the FP, LR, and other
things are. We generated something more like this:

Leh_func_begin1:
        mflr r0
        stw r31, 20(r1)
        stw r0, 8(r1)
Llabel1:
        stwu r1, -80(r1)
Llabel2:
        mr r31, r1

Note that we are missing the "mr" instruction. This patch makes it more like the
GCC output.
