Jonas Devlieghere ac25e8628c [lldb] Deal gracefully with concurrency in the API instrumentation.
Prevent lldb from crashing when multiple threads are concurrently
accessing the SB API with reproducer capture enabled.

The API instrumentation records both the input arguments and the return
value, but it cannot block for the duration of the API call. Therefore
we introduce a sequence number that allows to to correlate the function
with its result and add locking to ensure those two parts are emitted
atomically.

Using the sequence number, we can detect situations where the return
value does not succeed the function call, in which case we print an
error saying that concurrency is not (currently) supported. In the
future we might attempt to be smarter and read ahead until we've found
the return value matching the current call.

Jonas Devlieghere 5861234e72 [lldb] Track the API boundary using a thread_local variable.
The reproducers currently use a static variable to track the API
boundary. This is obviously incorrect when the SB API is used
concurrently. While I do not plan to support that use-case (right now),
I do want to avoid us crashing. As a first step, correctly track API
boundaries across multiple threads.

Before this patch SB API calls made by the embedded script interpreter
would be considered "behind the API boundary" and correctly ignored.
After this patch, we need to tell the reproducers to ignore the
scripting thread as a "private thread".

Jonas Devlieghere e7f1067ad6 [lldb/Reproducers] Skip API logging in the DUMMY macro
The purpose of the LLDB_RECORD_DUMMY macro is twofold: it is used in
functions that take arguments that we don't know how to serialize (e.g.
void*) and it's used by function where we want to avoid doing excessive
work because they can be called from a signal handler (e.g.
setTerminalWidth).

To support the latter case, I've disabled API logging form the Recorder
ctor used by the DUMMY macro. This ensures we don't allocate memory when
called from a signal handler.

Jonas Devlieghere 950a8aa165 [lldb/Reproducers] Support new replay mode: passive replay
Support passive replay as proposed in the RFC [1] on lldb-dev and
described in more detail on the lldb website [2].

This patch extends the LLDB_RECORD macros to re-invoke the current
function with arguments deserialized from the reproducer. This relies on
the function being called in the exact same order as during replay. It
uses the same mechanism to toggle the API boundary as during recording,
which guarantees that only boundary crossing calls are replayed.

Another major change is that before this patch we could ignore the
result of an API call, because we only cared about the observable
behavior. Now we need to be able to return the replayed result to the
SWIG bindings.

We reuse a lot of the recording infrastructure, which can be a little
confusing. We kept the existing naming to limit the amount of churn, but
might revisit that in a future patch.

Jonas Devlieghere f78fcd6906 [lldb/Test] Rewrite ReproducerInstrumentationTest
The instrumentation unit tests' current implementation uses global
variables to track constructor calls for the instrumented classes during
replay. This is suboptimal because it indirectly relies on how the
reproducer instrumentation is implemented. I found out when adding
support for passive replay and the test broke because we made an extra
(temporary) copy of the instrumented objects.

Additionally, the old approach wasn't very self-explanatory. It took me
a bit of time to understand why we were expecting the number of objects
in the test.

This patch rewrites the test and uses the index-to-object-mapping to
verify the objects created during replay. You can now specify the
expected objects, in order, and whether they should be valid or not. I
find that it makes the tests much easier to understand. More
importantly, this approach is resilient to implementation detail changes
in the instrumentation.

Add a small artificial delay in replay mode before exiting to ensure

Jonas Devlieghere b453caf111 [lldb/Reproducers] Change the way we instrument void* arguments
The reproducer instrumentation cannot automatically serialize and
deserialize void* arguments. Currently we deal with this by explicitly
preventing these methods from being instrumented. This has the undesired
side effect of breaking replay when that method returns a value later
used by another SB API call.

The solution is to change our approach and instrument these methods.
Instead of using the DUMMY macro, we just make (de)serialization of the
void pointer a NOOP and always return a nullptr.

Raphael Isemann 808142876c [lldb][NFC] Fix all formatting errors in .cpp file headers
Summary:
A *.cpp file header in LLDB (and in LLDB) should like this:
```
//===-- TestUtilities.cpp -------------------------------------------------===//
```
However in LLDB most of our source files have arbitrary changes to this format and
these changes are spreading through LLDB as folks usually just use the existing
source files as templates for their new files (most notably the unnecessary
editor language indicator `-*- C++ -*-` is spreading and in every review
someone is pointing out that this is wrong, resulting in people pointing out that this
is done in the same way in other files).

This patch removes most of these inconsistencies including the editor language indicators,
all the different missing/additional '-' characters, files that center the file name, missing
trailing `===//` (mostly caused by clang-format breaking the line).

Jonas Devlieghere c4144caf9b [lldb/Reproducer] Disable buffering of stdout during replay
Different buffering behavior during capture and replay caused some of
the shell tests to fail when run from a reproducer. By disabling stdout
buffering we get a better approximation of how things get flushed during
an regular debug session. There is a performance impact but since this
only affects replay this is acceptable.

Jonas Devlieghere db41fe166a [Reproducers] Limit logging to calls that cross the API boundary.
We recently moved API logging into the instrumentation macros. This made
that logging is now consistent and abstracted behind a macro for every
API functions, independent of the reproducers. It also means we have a
lot more output. While this is a good thing, it also meant a lot more
noise in the log, from things that aren't always equally interesting,
such as the copy constructor for example.

To improve usability, we should increase the signal-to-noise ratio. I
propose to achieve this by only logging API functions that cross the API
boundary. This is a divergence of what we had before, where a select
number of functions were logged, irregardless of the API boundary, a
concept that was introduced for the reproducers. However, I believe this
is in line with the purpose of the API log.

Jonas Devlieghere 306809f292 [Reproducers] Capture return values of functions returning by ptr/ref
For some reason I had convinced myself that functions returning by
pointer or reference do not require recording their result. However,
after further considering I don't see how that could work, at least not
with the current implementation. Interestingly enough, the reproducer
instrumentation already (mostly) accounts for this, though the
lldb-instr tool did not.

This patch adds the missing macros and updates the lldb-instr tool.

Pavel Labath 76016ba1ca Fix some warnings introduced in r353324 (ReproducerInstrumentation patch)
GetIndexForObjectImpl generated a bunch of "conversion casts away
constness warnings". Change the function to use "const void *" (and
static_cast, while I'm at it), to avoid this.

Driver.cpp: unused variable "replay" (this was actually caused by a
subsequent partial revert of this patch). I just finish the revert by
removing the variable completely.
