Daniel Kiss d8075e8781 Reland "[ARM] __cxa_end_cleanup should be called instead of _UnwindResume."
This is relanding commit da1d1a0869 .
This patch additionally addresses failures found in buildbots & post review comments.

ARM EHABI[1] specifies the __cxa_end_cleanup to be called after cleanup.
It will call the UnwindResume.
__cxa_begin_cleanup will be called from libcxxabi while __cxa_end_cleanup is never called.
This will trigger a termination when a foreign exception is processed while UnwindResume is called
because the global state will be wrong due to the missing __cxa_end_cleanup call.

Takafumi Arakaki e8806d7486 Re-apply the fix on DwarfEHPrepare and add a test
This patch re-introduces the fix in the commit https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/commit/66b0cebf7f736 by @yrnkrn

It seems that the fix was not migrated to `DwarfEHPrepareLegacyPass`.

This patch also updates `llvm/test/CodeGen/X86/dwarf-eh-prepare.ll` to include `-run-twice` to exercise the cleanup. Without this patch `llvm-lit -v llvm/test/CodeGen/X86/dwarf-eh-prepare.ll` fails with

1. NumCleanupLandingPadsRemaining: how many cleanup landing pads remain
1. NumNoUnwind: Number of functions with nounwind attribute

DwarfEHPrepare is always run a single time as part of `TargetPassConfig::addISelPasses()` which makes it an ideal place near the end of the pipeline to record this information.

Example output from clang built with exceptions cumulative during thinLTO backend (NumCleanupLandingPadsUnreachable was not incremented):

Reid Kleckner 05da2fe521 Sink all InitializePasses.h includes
This file lists every pass in LLVM, and is included by Pass.h, which is
very popular. Every time we add, remove, or rename a pass in LLVM, it
caused lots of recompilation.

I found this fact by looking at this table, which is sorted by the
number of times a file was changed over the last 100,000 git commits
multiplied by the number of object files that depend on it in the
current checkout:
  recompiles touches affected_files header
  342380 95 3604 llvm/include/llvm/ADT/STLExtras.h
  314730 234 1345 llvm/include/llvm/InitializePasses.h

  162225 45 3605 llvm/include/llvm/ADT/Optional.h
  158319 63 2513 llvm/include/llvm/ADT/Triple.h

  137647 59 2333 llvm/include/llvm/Support/Error.h
  131619 73 1803 llvm/include/llvm/Support/FileSystem.h

Before this change, touching InitializePasses.h would cause 1345 files
to recompile. After this change, touching it only causes 550 compiles in
an incremental rebuild.

James Y Knight 13680223b9 [opaque pointer types] Add a FunctionCallee wrapper type, and use it.
Recommit r352791 after tweaking DerivedTypes.h slightly, so that gcc
doesn't choke on it, hopefully.

Original Message:
The FunctionCallee type is effectively a {FunctionType*,Value*} pair,
and is a useful convenience to enable code to continue passing the
result of getOrInsertFunction() through to EmitCall, even once pointer
types lose their pointee-type.

Then:
- update the CallInst/InvokeInst instruction creation functions to
  take a Callee,
- modify getOrInsertFunction to return FunctionCallee, and
- update all callers appropriately.

One area of particular note is the change to the sanitizer
code. Previously, they had been casting the result of
`getOrInsertFunction` to a `Function*` via
`checkSanitizerInterfaceFunction`, and storing that. That would report
an error if someone had already inserted a function declaraction with
a mismatching signature.

However, in general, LLVM allows for such mismatches, as
`getOrInsertFunction` will automatically insert a bitcast if
needed. As part of this cleanup, cause the sanitizer code to do the
same. (It will call its functions using the expected signature,
however they may have been declared.)

Finally, in a small number of locations, callers of
`getOrInsertFunction` actually were expecting/requiring that a brand
new function was being created. In such cases, I've switched them to
Function::Create instead.

Chandler Carruth 2946cd7010 Update the file headers across all of the LLVM projects in the monorepo

We understand that people may be surprised that we're moving the header
entirely to discuss the new license. We checked this carefully with the
Foundation's lawyer and we believe this is the correct approach.

Essentially, all code in the project is now made available by the LLVM
project under our new license, so you will see that the license headers
include that license only. Some of our contributors have contributed
code under our old license, and accordingly, we have retained a copy of
our old license notice in the top-level files in each project and

Sanjay Patel 0f9b4773c1 [SimplifyCFG] add a struct to house optional folds (PR34603)
This was intended to be no-functional-change, but it's not - there's a test diff.

So I thought I should stop here and post it as-is to see if this looks like what was expected
based on the discussion in PR34603:
https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34603

Notes:
 1. The test improvement occurs because the existing 'LateSimplifyCFG' marker is not carried
through the recursive calls to 'SimplifyCFG()->SimplifyCFGOpt().run()->SimplifyCFG()'.
The parameter isn't passed down, so we pick up the default value from the function signature
after the first level. I assumed that was a bug, so I've passed 'Options' down in all of the
    'SimplifyCFG' calls.

 2. I split 'LateSimplifyCFG' into 2 bits: ConvertSwitchToLookupTable and KeepCanonicalLoops.
This would theoretically allow us to differentiate the transforms controlled by those params
    independently.

 3. We could stash the optional AssumptionCache pointer and 'LoopHeaders' pointer in the struct too.
I just stopped here to minimize the diffs.

 4. Similarly, I stopped short of messing with the pass manager layer. I have another question that
could wait for the follow-up: why is the new pass manager creating the pass with LateSimplifyCFG
set to true no matter where in the pipeline it's creating SimplifyCFG passes?

// Create an early function pass manager to cleanup the output of the
    // frontend.
    EarlyFPM.addPass(SimplifyCFGPass());

    -->

/// \brief Construct a pass with the default thresholds
    /// and switch optimizations.
    SimplifyCFGPass::SimplifyCFGPass()
       : BonusInstThreshold(UserBonusInstThreshold),
LateSimplifyCFG(true) {} <-- switches get converted to lookup tables and loops may not be in canonical form

If this is unintended, then it's possible that the current behavior of dropping the 'LateSimplifyCFG'
setting via recursion was masking this bug.

Chandler Carruth 6bda14b313 Sort the remaining #include lines in include/... and lib/....
I did this a long time ago with a janky python script, but now
clang-format has built-in support for this. I fed clang-format every
line with a #include and let it re-sort things according to the precise
LLVM rules for include ordering baked into clang-format these days.

I've reverted a number of files where the results of sorting includes
isn't healthy. Either places where we have legacy code relying on
particular include ordering (where possible, I'll fix these separately)
or where we have particular formatting around #include lines that
I didn't want to disturb in this patch.

This patch is *entirely* mechanical. If you get merge conflicts or
anything, just ignore the changes in this patch and run clang-format
over your #include lines in the files.

Sorry for any noise here, but it is important to keep these things
stable. I was seeing an increasing number of patches with irrelevant
re-ordering of #include lines because clang-format was used. This patch
at least isolates that churn, makes it easy to skip when resolving
conflicts, and gets us to a clean baseline (again).

PEI needs StackProtector, which gets constructed without a TargetMachine
by the pass manager. The StackProtector pass doesn't handle the case
where there is no TargetMachine, so it segfaults.

David Majnemer 7fddeccb8b Move the personality function from LandingPadInst to Function
The personality routine currently lives in the LandingPadInst.

This isn't desirable because:
- All LandingPadInsts in the same function must have the same
personality routine. This means that each LandingPadInst beyond the
first has an operand which produces no additional information.

- There is ongoing work to introduce EH IR constructs other than
LandingPadInst. Moving the personality routine off of any one
particular Instruction and onto the parent function seems a lot better
than have N different places a personality function can sneak onto an
  exceptional function.

Mehdi Amini a28d91d81b DataLayout is mandatory, update the API to reflect it with references.
Summary:
Now that the DataLayout is a mandatory part of the module, let's start
cleaning the codebase. This patch is a first attempt at doing that.

This patch is not exactly NFC as for instance some places were passing
a nullptr instead of the DataLayout, possibly just because there was a
default value on the DataLayout argument to many functions in the API.
Even though it is not purely NFC, there is no change in the
validation.

I turned as many pointer to DataLayout to references, this helped
figuring out all the places where a nullptr could come up.

I had initially a local version of this patch broken into over 30
independant, commits but some later commit were cleaning the API and
touching part of the code modified in the previous commits, so it
seemed cleaner without the intermediate state.

Fix the double-deletion of AnalysisResolver when delegating through to
Dwarf EH preparation by creating one from scratch. Hopefully the new

Reid Kleckner 0b647e6cca EH: Prune unreachable resume instructions during Dwarf EH preparation
Today a simple function that only catches exceptions and doesn't run
destructor cleanups ends up containing a dead call to _Unwind_Resume
(PR20300). We can't remove these dead resume instructions during normal
optimization because inlining might introduce additional landingpads
that do have cleanups to run. Instead we can do this during EH
preparation, which is guaranteed to run after inlining.

Fixes PR20300.
