Xun Li 516803dc86 [Coroutines] Ensure co_await promise.final_suspend() does not throw
Summary:
This patch addresses https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46256
The spec of coroutine requires that the expression co_await promise.final_suspend() shall not be potentially-throwing.
To check this, we recursively look at every call (including Call, MemberCall, OperatorCall and Constructor) in all code
generated by the final suspend, and ensure that the callees are declared with noexcept. We also look at any returned data
type that requires explicit destruction, and check their destructors for noexcept.

This patch does not check declarations with dependent types yet, which will be done in future patches.

Updated all tests to add noexcept to the required functions, and added a dedicated test for this patch.

This patch might start to cause existing codebase fail to compile because most people may not have been strict in tagging
all the related functions noexcept.

Brian Gesiak 376cf43729 [coroutines][PR41909] Generalize fix from D62550
Summary:
In https://reviews.llvm.org/D62550 @rsmith pointed out that there are
many situations in which a coroutine body statement may be
transformed/rebuilt as part of a template instantiation, and my naive
check whether the coroutine was a generic lambda was insufficient.

This is indeed true, as I've learned by reading more of the
TreeTransform code. Most transformations are written in a way that
doesn't assume the resulting types are not dependent types. So the
assertion in 'TransformCoroutineBodyStmt', that the promise type must no
longer be dependent, is out of place.

This patch removes the assertion, spruces up some code comments, and
adds a test that would have failed with my naive check from
https://reviews.llvm.org/D62550.

Brian Gesiak 38f11825d1 [coroutines][PR41909] Don't build dependent coroutine statements for generic lambda
Summary:
https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41909 describes an issue in which
a generic lambda that takes a dependent argument `auto set` causes the
template instantiation machinery for coroutine body statements to crash
with an ICE. The issue is two-fold:

1. The paths taken by the template instantiator contain several asserts
that the coroutine promise must not have a dependent type.
2. The template instantiator unconditionally builds corotuine statements
that depend on the promise type, which cannot be dependent.

To work around the issue, prevent the template instantiator from building
dependent coroutine statements if the coroutine promise type is dependent.
Since we only expect this to occur in the case of a generic lambda, limit
the workaround behavior to just that case.

Brian Gesiak b15c35aff8 Un-revert "[coroutines][PR40978] Emit error for co_yield within catch block"
Summary:
https://reviews.llvm.org/D59076 added a new coroutine error that
prevented users from using 'co_await' or 'co_yield' within a exception
handler. However, it was reverted in https://reviews.llvm.org/rC356774
because it caused a regression in nested scopes in C++ catch statements,
as documented by https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41171.

The issue was due to an incorrect use of a `clang::ParseScope`. To fix:

1. Add a regression test for catch statement parsing that mimics the bug
   report from https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41171.
2. Re-apply the coroutines error patch from
https://reviews.llvm.org/D59076, but this time with the correct
   ParseScope behavior.

Summary:
As reported in https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40978, it's an

Whether or not the current scope was in a function-try-block's
(https://en.cppreference.com/w/cpp/language/function-try-block) handler
could be determined using scope flag `Scope::FnTryCatchScope`. No
such flag existed for a simple C++ catch statement, so this commit adds
one.

Brian Gesiak cb02402489 [Coroutines] Find custom allocators in class scope
Summary:
https://reviews.llvm.org/rL325291 implemented Coroutines TS N4723
section [dcl.fct.def.coroutine]/7, but it performed lookup of allocator
functions within both the global and class scope, whereas the specified
behavior is to perform lookup for custom allocators within just the
class scope.

To fix, add parameters to the `Sema::FindAllocationFunctions` function
such that it can be used to lookup allocators in global scope,
class scope, or both (instead of just being able to look up in just global
scope or in both global and class scope). Then, use those parameters
from within the coroutine Sema.

This incorrect behavior had the unfortunate side-effect of causing the
bug https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36578 (or at least the reports
of that bug in C++ programs). That bug would occur for any C++ user with
a coroutine frame that took a single pointer argument, since it would
then find the global placement form `operator new`, described in the
C++ standard 18.6.1.3.1. This patch prevents Clang from generating code
that triggers the LLVM assert described in that bug report.

Brian Gesiak 986062219f [Coroutines] Use allocator overload when available
Summary:
Depends on https://reviews.llvm.org/D42605.

An implementation of the behavior described in `[dcl.fct.def.coroutine]/7`:
when a promise type overloads `operator new` using a "placement new"
that takes the same argument types as the coroutine function, that
overload is used when allocating the coroutine frame.

Simply passing references to the coroutine function parameters directly
to `operator new` results in invariant violations in LLVM's coroutine
splitting pass, so this implementation modifies Clang codegen to
produce allocator-specific alloc/store/loads for each parameter being
forwarded to the allocator.

As a side-effect of this patch, coroutine bodies that contain an invalid coroutine promise objects are marked as invalid.

It builds the coroutine_handle using coroutine_handle<PromiseType>::from_address(__builtin_coro_frame()).

Eric Fiselier 20f25cb6df [coroutines] Add DependentCoawaitExpr and fix re-building CoroutineBodyStmt.
Summary:
The changes contained in this patch are:

1. Defines a new AST node `CoawaitDependentExpr` for representing co_await expressions while the promise type is still dependent.
2. Correctly detect and transform the 'co_await' operand to `p.await_transform(<expr>)` when possible.
3. Change the initial/final suspend points to build during the initial parse, so they have the correct operator co_await lookup results.
4. Fix transformation of the CoroutineBodyStmt so that it doesn't re-build the final/initial suspends.

@rsmith: This change is a little big, but it's not trivial for me to split it up. Please let me know if you would prefer this submitted as multiple patches.

Eric Fiselier 89bf0e725f [coroutines] Improve diagnostics when building implicit constructs.
Previously when a coroutine was building the implicit setup/destroy
constructs it would emit diagostics about failures on the first co_await/co_return/co_yield
it encountered. This was confusing because that construct may not itself be ill-formed.

This patch moves the diagnostics to the function start instead.

Gor Nishanov bbe1c07387 [coroutines] NFC: Refactor Sema::CoroutineBodyStmt construction.
Summary:
Sema::CheckCompletedCoroutineBody was growing unwieldy with building all of the substatements. Also, constructors for CoroutineBodyStmt had way too many parameters.

Instead, CoroutineBodyStmt now defines CtorArgs structure with all of the required construction parameters.
CheckCompleteCoroutineBody delegates construction of individual substatements to short functions one per each substatement.

Also, added a drive-by fix of initializing CoroutinePromise to nullptr in ScopeInfo.h.
And addressed the FIXME that wanted to tail allocate extra room at the end of the CoroutineBodyStmt to hold parameter move expressions. (The comment was longer that the code that implemented tail allocation).

Eric Fiselier 709d1b30ab [coroutines] Build fallthrough and set_exception statements.
Summary:
This patch adds semantic checking and building of the fall-through `co_return;` statement as well as the `p.set_exception(std::current_exception())` call for handling uncaught exceptions.

The fall-through statement is built and checked according to:
> [dcl.fct.def.coroutine]/4
> The unqualified-ids return_void and return_value are looked up in the scope of class P. If
> both are found, the program is ill-formed. If the unqualified-id return_void is found, flowing
> off the end of a coroutine is equivalent to a co_return with no operand. Otherwise, flowing off
> the end of a coroutine results in undefined behavior.

Similarly the `set_exception` call is only built when that unqualified-id is found in the scope of class P.

Additionally this patch adds fall-through warnings for non-void returning coroutines. Since it's surprising undefined behavior I thought it would be important to add the warning right away.

Summary:
Previously the statement `co_return {42}` would be transformed into `P.return_void()`, since the type of `{42}` is represented as `void` by Clang.

This patch fixes the bug by checking for `InitListExpr` arguments and transforming them accordingly.
