Daniel Sanders f8bb23e509 [mips] Range check uimm16 and fix several bugs this revealed.
Summary:
The bugs were:
* teq and similar take 4-bit unsigned immediates on microMIPS.
* teqi and similar have side-effects like teq do.
* shll_s.w and shra_r.w take 5-bit unsigned immediates.
* The various DSP ext* instructions take a 5-bit immediate.
* repl.qh takes an 8-bit unsigned immediate.
* repl.ph takes a 10-bit unsigned immediate.
* rddsp/wrdsp take a 10-bit unsigned immediate.
* teqi and similar take signed 16-bit immediates (10-bit for microMIPS).
* Out-of-range immediate macros for or/xor take a simm32/simm64 depending
on architecture. I'll fix the simm64 case properly when I reach simm32.

lui is a bit more lenient than GAS and accepts signed immediates in addition
to unsigned. This is because MipsMCExpr can produce signed values when
constant folding and it currently lacks a way of knowing it should fold to
an unsigned value.

Reid Kleckner c62e379d22 [CodeView] Use assembler directives for line tables
Adds a new family of .cv_* directives to LLVM's variant of GAS syntax:

- .cv_file: Similar to DWARF .file directives

- .cv_loc: Similar to the DWARF .loc directive, but starts with a
function id. CodeView line tables are emitted by function instead of
by compilation unit, so we needed an extra field to communicate this.
Rather than overloading the .loc direction further, we decided it was
better to have our own directive.

- .cv_stringtable: Emits the codeview string table at the current
position. Currently this just contains the filenames as
  null-terminated strings.

- .cv_filechecksums: Emits the file checksum table for all files used
with .cv_file so far. There is currently no support for emitting
  actual checksums, just filenames.

This moves the line table emission code down into the assembler. This
is in preparation for implementing the inlined call site line table
format. The inline line table format encoding algorithm requires knowing
the absolute code offsets, so it must run after the assembler has laid
out the code.

David Majnemer collaborated on this patch.

Oliver Stannard 65b85382f6 [ARM] Add ARMv8.2-A FP16 scalar instructions
This was originally committed as r255762, but reverted as it broke windows
bots. Re-commitiing the exact same patch, as the underlying cause was fixed by
r258677.

ARMv8.2-A adds 16-bit floating point versions of all existing VFP
floating-point instructions. This is an optional extension, so all of
these instructions require the FeatureFullFP16 subtarget feature.

The assembly for these instructions uses S registers (AArch32 does not
have H registers), but the instructions have ".f16" type specifiers
rather than ".f32" or ".f64". The top 16 bits of each source register
are ignored, and the top 16 bits of the destination register are set to
zero.

These instructions are mostly the same as the 32- and 64-bit versions,
but they use coprocessor 9 rather than 10 and 11.

Two new instructions, VMOVX and VINS, have been added to allow packing
and extracting two 16-bit floats stored in the top and bottom halves of
an S register.

New fixup kinds have been added for the PC-relative load and store
instructions, but no ELF relocations have been added as they have a
range of 512 bytes.

Marina Yatsina ff262fa807 [X86] - Removing warning on legal cases caused by commit r258132
There's an overloading of the "movsd" and "cmpsd" instructions, e.g. movsd can be either "Move Data from String to String" or "Move or Merge Scalar Double-Precision Floating-Point Value".
The former should produce warnings when parsing a memory operand that is not ESI/EDI, but the latter should not.

Fixed the code to produce warnings only after making sure we're dealing with the first case.

Expanded the tests of the produced warnings + fixed RUN line of the test so that it would check both stdout and stderr

Rafael Espindola b718237dfc Accept subtractions involving a weak symbol.
When a symbol S shows up in an expression in assembly there are two
possible interpretations
* The expression is referring to the value of S in this file.
* The expression is referring to the value after symbol resolution.

In the first case the assembler can reason about the value and try to
produce a relocation.
In the second case, that is only possible if the symbol cannot be
preempted.

Assemblers are not very consistent about which interpretation gets used.
This changes MC to agree with GAS in the case of an expression of the
form "Sym - WeakSym".

Summary:
This fixes three bugs, in all of which state is not or incorrecly reset between
objects (i.e. when reusing the same pass manager to create multiple object
files):
1) AttributeSection needs to be reset to nullptr, because otherwise the backend
will try to emit into the old object file's attribute section causing a
   segmentation fault.
2) MappingSymbolCounter needs to be reset, otherwise the second object file
will start where the first one left off.
3) The MCStreamer base class resets the Streamer's e_flags settings. Since
EF_ARM_EABI_VER5 is set on streamer creation, we need to set it again
   after the MCStreamer was rest.

Also rename Reset (uppser case) to EHReset to avoid confusion with
reset (lower case).

Nico Weber 891419adc2 Make WinCOFFObjectWriter.cpp's timestamp writing not use ENABLE_TIMESTAMPS
LLVM_ENABLE_TIMESTAMPS controls if timestamps are embedded into llvm's
binaries. Turning it off is useful for deterministic builds.

r246905 made it so that the define suddenly also controls if the binaries that
the llvm binaries _create_ embed timestamps or not – but this shouldn't be a
configure-time option. r256203/r256204 added a driver option to toggle this on
and off, so this patch now passes this driver option in LLVM_ENABLE_TIMESTAMPS
builds so that if LLVM_ENABLE_TIMESTAMPS is set, the build of LLVM is
deterministic – but the built clang can still write timestamps into other
executables when requested.

This also allows removing some of the test machinery added in r292012 to work
around this problem.

Support for COFF timestamps was unintentionally broken in r246905 when
it was conditionally available depending on whether or not LLVM was
configured with LLVM_ENABLE_TIMESTAMPS. However, Config/config.h was
never included which essentially broke the feature. Due to lax testing,
the breakage was never identified until we observed strange failures
during incremental links of Chromium.

This issue is resolved by simply including Config/config.h in
WinCOFFObjectWriter and teaching lit that the MC/COFF/timestamp.s test
is conditionally supported depending on LLVM_ENABLE_TIMESTAMPS. With
this in place, we can strengthen the test to ensure that it will not
accidentally get broken in the future.

Rafael Espindola f44db24e1f Avoid explicit relocation sorting most of the time.
These days relocations are created and stored in a deterministic way.
The order they are created is also suitable for the .o file, so we don't
need an explicit sort.

The last remaining exception is MIPS.

Ulrich Weigand 88a7a2eac7 [SystemZ] Sort relocs to avoid code corruption by linker optimization
The SystemZ linkers provide an optimization to transform a general-
or local-dynamic TLS sequence into an initial-exec sequence if possible.
Do do that, the compiler generates a function call to __tls_get_offset,
which is a brasl instruction annotated with *two* relocations:

- a R_390_PLT32DBL to install __tls_get_offset as branch target
- a R_390_TLS_GDCALL / R_390_TLS_LDCALL to inform the linker that
the TLS optimization should be performed if possible

If the optimization is performed, the brasl is replaced by an ld load
instruction.

However, *both* relocs are processed independently by the linker.
Therefore it is crucial that the R_390_PLT32DBL is processed *first*
(installing the branch target for the brasl) and the R_390_TLS_GDCALL
is processed *second* (replacing the whole brasl with an ld).

If the relocs are swapped, the linker will first replace the brasl
with an ld, and *then* install the __tls_get_offset branch target
offset. Since ld has a different layout than brasl, this may even
result in a completely different (or invalid) instruction; in any
case, the resulting code is corrupted.

Unfortunately, the way the MC common code sorts relocations causes
these two to *always* end up the wrong way around, resulting in
wrong code generation by the linker and crashes.

This patch overrides the sortRelocs routine to detect this particular
pair of relocs and enforce the required order.

Oliver Stannard 2de8c16913 [ARM] Add ARMv8.2-A FP16 vector instructions
ARMv8.2-A adds 16-bit floating point versions of all existing SIMD

Oliver Stannard 48568cbe18 [ARM] Add ARMv8.2-A FP16 scalar instructions

This follows D14577 to treat ARMv6-J as an alias for ARMv6,
instead of an architecture in its own right.

The functional change is that the default CPU when targeting ARMv6-J
changes from arm1136j-s to arm1136jf-s, which is currently used as
the default CPU for ARMv6; both are, in fact, ARMv6-J CPUs.

The J-bit (Jazelle support) is irrelevant to LLVM, and it doesn't
affect code generation, attributes, optimizations, or anything else,
apart from selecting the default CPU.

Oliver Stannard 9be59af3ab [Assembler] Make fatal assembler errors non-fatal
Currently, if the assembler encounters an error after parsing (such as an
out-of-range fixup), it reports this as a fatal error, and so stops after the
first error. However, for most of these there is an obvious way to recover
after emitting the error, such as emitting the fixup with a value of zero. This
means that we can report on all of the errors in a file, not just the first
one. MCContext::reportError records the fact that an error was encountered, so
we won't actually emit an object file with the incorrect contents.

Oliver Stannard 07b43d39a8 [Assembler] Allow non-fatal errors after parsing
This adds reportError to MCContext, which can be used as an alternative to
reportFatalError when the assembler wants to try to continue processing the
rest of the file after the error is reported, so that all of the errors ina
file can be reported. It records the fact that an error was encountered, so we
can avoid emitting an object file if any errors occurred.

This patch doesn't add any uses of this function (a later patch will convert
most uses of reportFatalError to use it), but there is a small functional
change: we use the SourceManager to print the error message, even if we have a
null SMLoc. This means that we get a SourceManager-style message, with the file
and line information shown as <unknown>, rather than the "LLVM ERROR" style
used by report_fatal_error.

Peter Collingbourne d4bff30370 DI: Reverse direction of subprogram -> function edge.
Previously, subprograms contained a metadata reference to the function they
described. Because most clients need to get or set a subprogram for a given
function rather than the other way around, this created unneeded inefficiency.

For example, many passes needed to call the function llvm::makeSubprogramMap()
to build a mapping from functions to subprograms, and the IR linker needed to
fix up function references in a way that caused quadratic complexity in the IR
linking phase of LTO.

This change reverses the direction of the edge by storing the subprogram as
function-level metadata and removing DISubprogram's function field.

Since this is an IR change, a bitcode upgrade has been provided.

Fixes PR23367. An upgrade script for textual IR for out-of-tree clients is
attached to the PR.

Summary:
This patch handles assembly and disassembly, but not codegen, as of yet.

Additionally, it fixes a bug whereby SP and PC as shifted-reg operands
were treated as predictable in ARMv7 Thumb; and it enables the tests

Hal Finkel f4052340a4 [PowerPC] Replace cntlz[.] with cntlzw[.]
cntlz is the old POWER mnemonic. cntlzw is the PowerPC mnemonic.

This change fixes an issue when -no-integrated-as: The opcode cntlz is
unrecognized by gas

Alias the POWER mnemonic cntlz[.] to the PowerPC mnemonic cntlzw[.]
This is done for because the POWER cntlz mnemonic has be used by LLVM for
a very long time. We need to make sure that assembly programs
that are using the cntlz[.] do not break with this change.

Change PowerPC tests to reflect the insn change from cntlz to cntlzw.
Add assembly test to verify cntlz[.] is encoded correctly.

Summary:
The forwards compatibility strategy employed by MIPS is to consider registers
to be infinitely sign-extended. Then on ISA's with a wider register, the result
of existing instructions are sign-extended to register width and zero-extended
counterparts are added. copy_u.w on MSA32 and copy_u.w on MSA64 violate this
strategy and we have therefore corrected the MSA specs to fix this.

We still keep track of sign/zero-extension during legalization but we now
match copy_s.[wd] where required.

No change required to clang since __builtin_msa_copy_u_[wd] will map to
copy_s.[wd] where appropriate for the target.

Akira Hatanaka 8ad7399f8e [MachO] Stop generating *coal* sections.
Recommit r250342: move coal-sections-powerpc.s to subdirectory for powerpc.

Some background on why we don't have to use *coal* sections anymore:
Long ago when C++ was new and "weak" had not been standardized, an attempt was
made in cctools to support C++ inlines that can be coalesced by putting them
into their own section (TEXT/textcoal_nt instead of TEXT/text).

The current macho linker supports the weak-def bit on any symbol to allow it to
be coalesced, but the compiler still puts weak-def functions/data into alternate
section names, which the linker must map back to the base section name.

This patch makes changes that are necessary to prevent the compiler from using
the "coal" sections and have it use the non-coal sections instead when the
target architecture is not powerpc:

TEXT/textcoal_nt instead use TEXT/text
TEXT/const_coal instead use TEXT/const
DATA/datacoal_nt instead use DATA/data

If the target is powerpc, we continue to use the *coal* sections since anyone
targeting powerpc is probably using an old linker that doesn't have support for
the weak-def bits.

Also, have the assembler issue a warning if it encounters a *coal* section in
the assembly file and inform the users to use the non-coal sections instead.

Rafael Espindola e3a20f57d9 Fix pr24486.
This extends the work done in r233995 so that now getFragment (in addition to
getSection) also works for variable symbols.

With that the existing logic to decide if a-b can be computed works even if
a or b are variables. Given that, the expression evaluation can avoid expanding
variables as aggressively and that in turn lets the relocation code see the
original variable.

In order for this to work with the asm streamer, there is now a dummy fragment
per section. It is used to assign a section to a symbol when no other fragment
exists.

This patch is a joint work by Maxim Ostapenko andy myself.

Rafael Espindola 4405d5d889 Use ELFOSABI_NONE instead of ELFOSABI_LINUX.
The doesn't seem to be a difference and ELFOSABI_NONE seems to be far more
common:

* Linux doesn't care when loading and puts ELFOSABI_NONE on core dumps.
* Gold and bfd ld produce files with ELFOSABI_NONE.
* Gold and bfd ld seems to ignore EI_OSABI other than for freebsd.
* Gas puts ELFOSABI_NONE in most .o files.
