Adrian Prantl 1c45b09add Simplify codegen and debug info generation for block context parameters.
The exisiting code goes out of its way to put block parameters into an
alloca only at -O0, and then describes the funciton argument with a
dbg.declare, which is undocumented in the LLVM-CFE contract and does
not actually behave as intended after LLVM r642022.

This patch just generates the alloca unconditionally, the mem2reg pass
will eliminate it at -O1 and up anyway and points the dbg.declare to
the alloca as intended (which mem2reg will then correctly rewrite into
a dbg.value).

Roman Lebedev 809df34efc [Sema] -Wzero-as-null-pointer-constant: don't warn for system macros other than NULL.
Summary:
The warning was initially introduced in D32914 by @thakis,
and the concerns were raised there, and later in rL302247
and PR33771.

I do believe that it makes sense to relax the diagnostic
e.g. in this case, when the expression originates from the
system header, which can not be modified. This prevents
adoption for the diagnostic for codebases which use pthreads
(`PTHREAD_MUTEX_INITIALIZER`), gtest, etc.

As @malcolm.parsons suggests, it *may* make sense to also
not warn for the template types, but it is not obvious to
me how to do that in here.

Though, it still makes sense to complain about `NULL` macro.

While there, add more tests.

Eric Liu 826b783214 [Tooling] A new framework for executing clang frontend actions.
Summary:
This defines a `clang::tooling::ToolExecutor` interface that can be extended to support different execution plans including standalone execution on a given set of TUs or parallel execution on all TUs in a codebase.

In order to enable multiprocessing execution, tool actions are expected to output result into a `ToolResults` interface provided by executors. The `ToolResults` interface abstracts how results are stored e.g. in-memory for standalone executions or on-disk for large-scale execution.

New executors can be registered as `ToolExecutorPlugin`s via the `ToolExecutorPluginRegistry`. CLI tools can use `createExecutorFromCommandLineArgs` to create a specific registered executor according to the command-line arguments.

This patch also implements `StandaloneToolExecutor` which has the same behavior as the current `ClangTool` interface, i.e. execute frontend actions on a given set of TUs. At this point, it's simply a wrapper around `ClangTool` at this point.

This is still experimental but expected to replace the existing `ClangTool` interface so that specific tools would not need to worry about execution.

Saleem Abdulrasool 2a5015b11b CodeGen: fix PPC Darwin variadics
Darwin uses char * for the variadic list type (va_list).  We use the PPC
SVR4 ABI for PPC, which uses a structure type for the va_list.  When
constructing the GEP, we would fail due to the incorrect handling for
the va_list.  Correct this to use the right type.

Erich Keane 5759fa798b Correct behavior of fastcall when default CC is set.
Fastcall doesn't support variadic function calls, so
setting the default calling convention to Fastcall would
result in incorrect code being emitted for these conditions.

This patch adds a 'variadic' test to the default calling conv
test, as well as fixes the behavior of fastcall.

Alex Lorenz 7fe441b20d [refactor] Initial outline of implementation of "extract function" refactoring
This commit adds an initial, skeleton outline of the "extract function"
refactoring. The extracted function doesn't capture variables / rewrite code
yet, it just basically does a simple copy-paste.
The following initiation rules are specified:

- extraction can only be done for executable code in a function/method/block.
  This means that you can't extract a global variable initialize into a function
  right now.
- simple literals and references are not extractable.

This commit also adds support for full source ranges to clang-refactor's test
mode.

Erik Verbruggen 6524c05d2c Do not add a colon chunk to the code completion of class inheritance access modifiers
With enabled CINDEXTEST_CODE_COMPLETE_PATTERNS env option (which enables
IncludeCodePatterns in completion options) code completion after colon
currently suggests access modifiers with 2 completion chunks which is
incorrect.

Example:
class A : <Cursor>B
{
}

Currently we get 'NotImplemented:{TypedText public}{Colon :} (40)'
but the correct line is just 'NotImplemented:{TypedText public} (40)'

The fix introduces more specific scope that occurs between ':' and '{'
It allows us to determine when we don't need to add ':' as a second
chunk to the public/protected/private access modifiers.

Peter Smith 820e46f3b2 [AArch64] Fix PR34625 -mtune without -mcpu should not set -target-cpu
When -mtune is used on AArch64 the -target-cpu is passed the value of the
cpu given to -mtune. As well as setting micro-architectural features of the
-mtune cpu, this will also add the architectural features such as support
for instructions. This can result in the backend using instructions that
are supported in the -mtune cpu but not supported in the target
architecture. For example use of the v8.1-a LSE extensions with -march=v8.
    
This change removes the setting of -target-cpu for -mtune, the -mcpu must
be used to set -target-cpu. This has the effect of removing all non-hard
coded benefits of mtune but it does produce correct output when -mtune cpu
with a later architecture than v8 is used.

Jordan Rose d4503da40c Unnamed bitfields don't block constant evaluation of constexpr ctors
C++14 [dcl.constexpr]p4 states that in the body of a constexpr
constructor,

> every non-variant non-static data member and base class sub-object
  shall be initialized

However, [class.bit]p2 notes that

> Unnamed bit-fields are not members and cannot be initialized.

Therefore, we should make sure to filter them out of the check that
all fields are initialized.

Fixing this makes the constant evaluator a bit smarter, and
specifically allows constexpr constructors to avoid tripping
-Wglobal-constructors when the type contains unnamed bitfields.

Erich Keane af0795b906 Fix template parameter default args missed if redecled
This bug was found via self-build on lld, and worked around
here: https://reviews.llvm.org/rL316180

The issue is that the 'using' causes the lookup to pick up the
first decl. However, when setting inherited default parameters,
we only update 'forward', not 'backward'. SO, only the newest param
list has all the information about the default arguments.

This patch ensures that the list of parameters we look through checks
the newest decl's template parameter list so it doesn't miss a default.

Alexander Shaposhnikov 9a21d28b5d [analyzer] Fix handling of labels in getLValueElement
In getLValueElement Base may represent the address of a label 
(as in the newly-added test case), in this case it's not a loc::MemRegionVal 
and Base.castAs<loc::MemRegionVal>() triggers an assert, this diff makes 
getLValueElement return UnknownVal instead.

Volodymyr Sapsai 30680e9437 [Sema] Add support for flexible array members in Obj-C.
Allow Obj-C ivars with incomplete array type but only as the last ivar.
Also add a requirement for ivars that contain a flexible array member to
be at the end of class too. It is possible to add in a subclass another
ivar at the end but we'll emit a warning in this case. Also we'll emit a
warning if a variable sized ivar is declared in class extension or in
implementation because subclasses won't know they should avoid adding
new ivars.

In ARC incomplete array objects are treated as __unsafe_unretained so
require them to be marked as such.

Prohibit synthesizing ivars with flexible array members because order of
synthesized ivars is not obvious and tricky to control. Spelling out
ivar explicitly gives control to developers and helps to avoid surprises
with unexpected ivar ordering.

For C and C++ changed diagnostic to tell explicitly a field is not the
last one and point to the next field. It is not as useful as in Obj-C
but it is an improvement and it is consistent with Obj-C. For C for
unions emit more specific err_flexible_array_union instead of generic
err_field_incomplete.

Petr Hosek 3e199ecdad [Driver] Use ld.lld directly for Fuchsia rather than passing flavor
Passing a flavor to LLD requires command line argument, but if these
are being passed through a response file, this will fail because LLD
needs to know which driver to use before processing the response file.
Use ld.lld directly instead to avoid this issue.

Jonas Hahnfeld 4525c82428 [OpenMP] Avoid VLAs for some reductions on array sections
In some cases the compiler can deduce the length of an array section
as constants. With this information, VLAs can be avoided in place of
a constant sized array or even a scalar value if the length is 1.
Example:
int a[4], b[2];
pragma omp parallel reduction(+: a[1:2], b[1:1])
{ }

For chained array sections, this optimization is restricted to cases
where all array sections except the last have a constant length 1.
This trivially guarantees that there are no holes in the memory region
that needs to be privatized.
Example:
int c[3][4];
pragma omp parallel reduction(+: c[1:1][1:2])
{ }

This relands commit r316229 that I reverted in r316235 because it
failed on some bots. During investigation I found that this was because
Clang and GCC evaluate the two arguments to emplace_back() in
ReductionCodeGen::emitSharedLValue() in a different order, hence
leading to a different order of generated instructions in the final
LLVM IR. Fix this by passing in the arguments from temporary variables
that are evaluated in a defined order.

Faisal Vali 81b756e6a3 [C++17] Fix PR34970 - tweak overload resolution for class template deduction-guides in line with WG21's p0620r0.
In order to identify the copy deduction candidate, I considered two approaches:
  - attempt to determine whether an implicit guide is a copy deduction candidate by checking certain properties of its subsituted parameter during overload-resolution.
  - using one of the many bits (WillHaveBody) from FunctionDecl (that CXXDeductionGuideDecl inherits from) that are otherwise irrelevant for deduction guides

After some brittle gymnastics w the first strategy, I settled on the second, although to avoid confusion and to give that bit a better name, i turned it into a member of an anonymous union.

Given this identification 'bit', the tweak to overload resolution was a simple reordering of the deduction guide checks (in SemaOverload.cpp::isBetterOverloadCandidate), in-line with Jason Merrill's p0620r0 drafting which made it into the working paper.  Concordant with that, I made sure the copy deduction candidate is always added.

Roman Lebedev ca1aaacc32 [Sema] Fixes for enum handling for tautological comparison diagnostics
Summary:
As Mattias Eriksson has reported in PR35009, in C, for enums, the underlying type should
be used when checking for the tautological comparison, unlike C++, where the enumerator
values define the value range. So if not in CPlusPlus mode, use the enum underlying type.

Also, i have discovered a problem (a crash) when evaluating tautological-ness of the following comparison:
```
enum A { A_a = 0 };
if (a < 0) // expected-warning {{comparison of unsigned enum expression < 0 is always false}}
return 0;
```
This affects both the C and C++, but after the first fix, only C++ code was affected.
That was also fixed, while preserving (i think?) the proper diagnostic output.

And while there, attempt to enhance the test coverage.
Yes, some tests got moved around, sorry about that :)

Richard Smith 6f4f0f1865 Implement current CWG direction for support of arrays of unknown bounds in
constant expressions.

We permit array-to-pointer decay on such arrays, but disallow pointer
arithmetic (since we do not know whether it will have defined behavior).

This is based on r311970 and r301822 (the former by me and the latter by Robert
Haberlach). Between then and now, two things have changed: we have committee
feedback indicating that this is indeed the right direction, and the code
broken by this change has been fixed.

This is necessary in C++17 to continue accepting certain forms of non-type
template argument involving arrays of unknown bound.

Jonas Hahnfeld b6229be460 [OpenMP] Avoid VLAs for some reductions on array sections
In some cases the compiler can deduce the length of an array section
as constants. With this information, VLAs can be avoided in place of
a constant sized array or even a scalar value if the length is 1.
Example:
int a[4], b[2];
pragma omp parallel reduction(+: a[1:2], b[1:1])
{ }

For chained array sections, this optimization is restricted to cases
where all array sections except the last have a constant length 1.
This trivially guarantees that there are no holes in the memory region
that needs to be privatized.
Example:
int c[3][4];
pragma omp parallel reduction(+: c[1:1][1:2])
{ }

Saleem Abdulrasool e5696580aa Basic: restore {,u}intptr_t on NetBSD/ARM
NetBSD uses `long int` for `intptr_t` on ARM.  This was changed in SVN
r316046, referenced against other compilers.  However, NetBSD's
reference was incorrect as the current clang behaviour is more
up-to-date.  Restore the original behaviour for that target.

Peter Wu 90161dad75 Try to shorten system header paths when using -MD depfiles
GCC tries to shorten system headers in depfiles using its real path
(resolving components like ".." and following symlinks). Mimic this
feature to ensure that the Ninja build tool detects the correct
dependencies when a symlink changes directory levels, see
https://github.com/ninja-build/ninja/issues/1330

An option to disable this feature is added in case "these changed header
paths may conflict with some compilation environments", see
https://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2012-09/msg00287.html

Note that the original feature request for GCC
(https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=52974) also included paths
preprocessed output (-E) and diagnostics. That is not implemented now
since I am not sure if it breaks something else.

Sumanth Gundapaneni 57098f5ac3 [Hexagon] Handling of new HVX flags and target-features
This patch has the following changes
A new flag "-mhvx-length={64B|128B}" is introduced to specify the length of the vector.
Previously we have used "-mhvx-double" for 128 Bytes. This adds the target-feature "+hvx-length{64|128}b"

The "-mhvx" flag must be provided on command line to enable HVX for Hexagon. If no -mhvx-length flag
is specified, a default length is picked from the arch mentioned in this priority order from either -mhvx=vxx
or -mcpu. For v60 and v62 the default length is 64 Byte. For unknown versions, the length is 128 Byte. The 
-mhvx flag adds the target-feature "+hvxv{hvx_version}"

The 64 Byte mode is soon going to be deprecated. A warning is emitted if 64 Byte is enabled. A warning is
still emitted for the default 64 Byte as well. This warning can be suppressed with a -Wno flag.

The "-mhvx-double" and "-mno-hvx-double" flags are deprecated. A warning is emitted if the driver sees
them on commandline. "-mhvx-double" is an alias to "-mhvx-length=128B"

The compilation will error out if -mhvx-length is specified with out an -mhvx/-mhvx= flag

The macro HVX_LENGTH is defined and is set to the length of the vector. 
Eg: #define HVX_LENGTH 64

The macro HVX_ARCH is defined and is set to the version of the HVX. 
Eg: #define HVX_ARCH 62

Saleem Abdulrasool 8d799f8ef9 Basic: fix __{,U}INTPTR_TYPE__ on ARM
Darwin and OpenBSD are the only platforms which use `long int` for
`__INTPTR_TYPE__`.  The other platforms use `int` in 32-bit, and `long
int` on 64-bit (except for VMS and Windows which are LLP64).  Adjust the
type definitions to match the platform definitions.  We now generate the
same definition as GCC on all the targets.

This makes it possible to view sub-line region counts for the l.h.s of

George Burgess IV 31ac1fae68 Make __builtin_types_compatible_p more like GCC's
GCC ignore qualifiers on array types. Since we seem to have this
function primarily for GCC compatibility, we should try to match that
behavior.

This also adds a few more test-cases __builtin_types_compatible_p,
which were inspired by GCC's documentation on the builtin.

Wei Mi 9b3d627280 [Bitfield] Add an option to access bitfield in a fine-grained manner.
Currently all the consecutive bitfields are wrapped as a large integer unless there is unamed zero sized bitfield in between. The patch provides an alternative manner which makes the bitfield to be accessed as separate memory location if it has legal integer width and is naturally aligned. Such separate bitfield may split the original consecutive bitfields into subgroups of consecutive bitfields, and each subgroup will be wrapped as an integer. Now This is all controlled by an option -ffine-grained-bitfield-accesses. The alternative of bitfield access manner can improve the access efficiency of those bitfields with legal width and being aligned, but may reduce the chance of load/store combining of other bitfields, so it depends on how the bitfields are defined and actually accessed to choose when to use the option. For now the option is off by default.

Alexander Richardson 6d989436d0 Convert clang::LangAS to a strongly typed enum
Summary:
Convert clang::LangAS to a strongly typed enum

Currently both clang AST address spaces and target specific address spaces
are represented as unsigned which can lead to subtle errors if the wrong
type is passed. It is especially confusing in the CodeGen files as it is
not possible to see what kind of address space should be passed to a
function without looking at the implementation.
I originally made this change for our LLVM fork for the CHERI architecture
where we make extensive use of address spaces to differentiate between
capabilities and pointers. When merging the upstream changes I usually
run into some test failures or runtime crashes because the wrong kind of
address space is passed to a function. By converting the LangAS enum to a
C++11 we can catch these errors at compile time. Additionally, it is now
obvious from the function signature which kind of address space it expects.

I found the following errors while writing this patch:

- ItaniumRecordLayoutBuilder::LayoutField was passing a clang AST address
  space to  TargetInfo::getPointer{Width,Align}()
- TypePrinter::printAttributedAfter() prints the numeric value of the
  clang AST address space instead of the target address space.
  However, this code is not used so I kept the current behaviour
- initializeForBlockHeader() in CGBlocks.cpp was passing
  LangAS::opencl_generic to TargetInfo::getPointer{Width,Align}()
- CodeGenFunction::EmitBlockLiteral() was passing a AST address space to
  TargetInfo::getPointerWidth()
- CGOpenMPRuntimeNVPTX::translateParameter() passed a target address space
  to Qualifiers::addAddressSpace()
- CGOpenMPRuntimeNVPTX::getParameterAddress() was using
  llvm::Type::getPointerTo() with a AST address space
- clang_getAddressSpace() returns either a LangAS or a target address
  space. As this is exposed to C I have kept the current behaviour and
  added a comment stating that it is probably not correct.

Other than this the patch should not cause any functional changes.

Martell Malone e5639e9dd9 Driver: use ld64.lld when -fuse-ld=lld for darwin
When using lld on macOS the current level of detection between ld and
ld64 forces us to rename lld to ld.

For ELF targets we have the ld.lld alias so for MACHO we should have
ld64.lld so we can use lld without replacing the system compiler.

This also solves the additional issue of cross compiling for MACHO
where renaming lld to ld with only target ELF.

This is the clang driver component change to use this new alias.

Faisal Vali 1826842865 [c++2a] Implement P0306 __VA_OPT__ (Comma omission and comma deletion)
This patch implements an extension to the preprocessor:

__VA_OPT__(contents) --> which expands into its contents if variadic arguments are supplied to the parent macro, or behaves as an empty token if none.

  - Currently this feature is only enabled for C++2a (this could be enabled, with some careful tweaks, for other dialects with the appropriate extension or compatibility warnings)

  - The patch was reviewed here: https://reviews.llvm.org/D35782 and asides from the above (and moving some of the definition and expansion recognition logic into the corresponding state machines), I believe I incorporated all of Richard's suggestions.

A few technicalities (most of which were clarified through private correspondence between rsmith, hubert and thomas) are worth mentioning.  Given:

    #define F(a,...) a #__VA_OPT__(a ## a)  a ## __VA_OPT__(__VA_ARGS__)

    - The call F(,) Does not supply any tokens for the variadic arguments and hence VA_OPT behaves as a placeholder.
    - When expanding VA_OPT (for e.g. F(,1) token pasting occurs eagerly within its contents if the contents need to be stringified.
    - A hash or a hashhash prior to VA_OPT does not inhibit expansion of arguments if they are the first token within VA_OPT.
    - When a variadic argument is supplied, argument substitution occurs within the contents as does stringification - and these resulting tokens are inserted back into the macro expansions token stream just prior to the entire stream being rescanned and concatenated.

Yaxun Liu c2a87a05f1 [OpenCL] Emit enqueued block as kernel
In OpenCL the kernel function and non-kernel function has different calling conventions.
For certain targets they have different argument ABIs. Also kernels have special function
attributes and metadata for runtime to launch them.

The blocks passed to enqueue_kernel is supposed to be executed as kernels. As such,
the block invoke function should be emitted as kernel with proper calling convention and
argument ABI.

This patch emits enqueued block as kernel. If a block is both called directly and passed
to enqueue_kernel, separate functions will be generated.

Vedant Kumar aa4ea5fb45 [ubsan] Don't emit function signatures for non-static member functions
The function sanitizer only checks indirect calls through function
pointers. This excludes all non-static member functions (constructor
calls, calls through thunks, etc. all use a separate code path). Don't
emit function signatures for functions that won't be checked.

Apart from cutting down on code size, this should fix a regression on
Linux caused by r313096. For context, see the mailing list discussion:

It's possible for the code completion consumer to add new decls to the
current scope while lookup happens on it. Avoid this by making a copy
first.

Sadly I wasn't able to get a self-contained test case for this as it
requires code completion + precompiled preamble + the stars aligning to
deserialize at exactly the right time.

Artem Dergachev cd25c38dc0 [analyzer] pr28449: Fix support for various array initializers.
In some cases the analyzer didn't expect an array-type variable to be
initialized with anything other than a string literal. The patch essentially
removes the assertion, and ensures relatively sane behavior.

There is a bigger problem with these initializers. Currently our memory model
(RegionStore) is being ordered to initialize the array with a region that
is assumed to be storing the initializer rvalue, and it guesses to copy
the contents of that region to the array variable. However, it would make
more sense for RegionStore to receive the correct initializer in the first
place. This problem isn't addressed with this patch.

Artem Dergachev db65f969f2 [analyzer] CStringChecker: pr34460: Avoid a crash when a cast is not modeled.
The checker used to crash when a mempcpy's length argument is symbolic. In this
case the cast from 'void *' to 'char *' failed because the respective
ElementRegion that represents cast is hard to add on top of the existing
ElementRegion that represents the offset to the last copied byte, while
preseving a sane memory region structure.

Additionally, a few test cases are added (to casts.c) which demonstrate problems
caused by existing sloppy work we do with multi-layer ElementRegions. If said
cast would be modeled properly in the future, these tests would need to be
taken into account.

Artem Dergachev 2041cbdcf5 [analyzer] RetainCount: Ignore annotations on user-made CFRetain wrappers.
It is not uncommon for the users to make their own wrappers around
CoreFoundation's CFRetain and CFRelease functions that are defensive
against null references. In such cases CFRetain is often incorrectly
marked as CF_RETURNS_RETAINED. Ignore said annotation and treat such
wrappers similarly to the regular CFRetain.

Yaxun Liu b7318e02c1 [OpenCL] Add LangAS::opencl_private to represent private address space in AST
Currently Clang uses default address space (0) to represent private address space for OpenCL
in AST. There are two issues with this:

Multiple address spaces including private address space cannot be diagnosed.
There is no mangling for default address space. For example, if private int* is emitted as
i32 addrspace(5)* in IR. It is supposed to be mangled as PUAS5i but it is mangled as
Pi instead.

This patch attempts to represent OpenCL private address space explicitly in AST. It adds
a new enum LangAS::opencl_private and adds it to the variable types which are implicitly
private:

automatic variables without address space qualifier

function parameter

pointee type without address space qualifier (OpenCL 1.2 and below)

Reid Kleckner 3da37e05f7 [MS] Don't bail on replacing dllimport vbase dtors with base dtors
Fix PR32990 by effectively reverting r283063 and solving it a different
way.

We want to limit the hack to not replace equivalent available_externally
dtors specifically to libc++, which uses always_inline. It seems certain
versions of libc++ do not provide all the symbols that an explicit
template instantiation is expected to provide.

If we get to the code that forms a real alias, only *then* check if this
is available_externally, and do that by asking a better question, which
is "is this a declaration for the linker?", because *that's* what means
we can't form an alias to it.

As a follow-on simplification, remove the InEveryTU parameter. Its last
use guarded this code for forming aliases, but we should never form
aliases to declarations, regardless of what we know about every TU.

Akira Hatanaka 73cab88c49 [Sema][ObjC] Complete merging ObjC methods before checking their
overriding methods.

This should fix test case Analysis/retain-release.m that was failing on
the reverse iteration bot:

The test used to fail because the loop in CheckObjCMethodOverrides would
merge attribute ns_returns_retained on methods while checking whether
the overriding methods were compatible. Since OverrideSearch::Overridden
is a SmallPtrSet and the order in which the elements of the set are
visited is non-deterministic, the test would fail when method 'clone' of
the protocol 'F18P' was visited before F18(Cat)'s method 'clone' was
visited.

Erich Keane 883f22ef7e [Sema][Crash] Correctly handle an non-dependent noexcept expr in function template
It seems that all of the other templated cases are handled correctly,
however the function template case was not correctly handled. This
patch recovers from this condition by setting the function to noexcept
after diagnosing. Previously it simply set NoexceptExpr to null,

Zachary Turner 337462b365 [ADT] Make Twine's copy constructor private.
There's a lot of misuse of Twine scattered around LLVM.  This
ranges in severity from benign (returning a Twine from a function
by value that is just a string literal) to pretty sketchy (storing
a Twine by value in a class).  While there are some uses for
copying Twines, most of the very compelling ones are confined
to the Twine class implementation itself, and other uses are
either dubious or easily worked around.

This patch makes Twine's copy constructor private, and fixes up
all callsites.

Vedant Kumar f538018562 [Driver] Export symbols needed to use profile runtime
Apple's API verification tool (tapi) checks that the symbols exported
from a program match a whitelist. When the program uses the profile
runtime, some additional symbols which are typically not part of the
regular whitelist must be exported.

If we're using symbol export directives along with the profile runtime
on Darwin, the driver needs to export the additional symbols to avoid
verification failures.

Adrian Prantl f3d9b488bd Include getting generated struct offsets in CodegenABITypes
This change adds a new function, CodeGen::getFieldNumber, that
enables a user of clang's code generation to get the field number
in a generated LLVM IR struct that corresponds to a particular field
in a C struct.

It is important to expose this information in Clang's code generation
interface because there is no reasonable way for users of Clang's code
generation to get this information. In particular:

LLVM struct types do not include field names.
Clang adds a non-trivial amount of logic to the code generation of LLVM IR types for structs, in particular to handle padding and bit fields.

Richard Smith becb92dec8 [Modules TS] Module ownership semantics for redeclarations.
When declaring an entity in the "purview" of a module, it's never a
redeclaration of an entity in the purview of a default module or in no module
("in the global module"). Don't consider those other declarations as possible
redeclaration targets if they're not visible, and reject any cases where we
pick a prior visible declaration that violates this rule.

This reinstates r315251 and r315256, reverted in r315309 and r315308
respectively, tweaked to avoid triggering a linkage calculation when declaring
implicit special members (this exposed our pre-existing issue with typedef
names for linkage changing the linkage of types whose linkage has already been
computed and cached in more cases). A testcase for that regression has been
added in r315366.

Peter Collingbourne 0dfdb44797 Support: Have directory_iterator::status() return FindFirstFileEx/FindNextFile results on Windows.
This allows clients to avoid an unnecessary fs::status() call on each
directory entry. Because the information returned by FindFirstFileEx
is a subset of the information returned by a regular status() call,
I needed to extract a base class from file_status that contains only
that information.

On my machine, this reduces the time required to enumerate a ThinLTO
cache directory containing 520k files from almost 4 minutes to less
than 2 seconds.

Guozhi Wei 3625f3efad [CGExprScalar] In EmitCompare trunc the result if it has different type as E->getType()
Usually compare expression should return i1 type, so EmitScalarConversion is called before return

return EmitScalarConversion(Result, CGF.getContext().BoolTy, E->getType(), E->getExprLoc());

But when ppc intrinsic is called to compare vectors, the ppc intrinsic can return i32 even E->getType() is BoolTy, in this case EmitScalarConversion does nothing, an i32 type result is returned and causes crash later.

This patch detects this case and truncates the result before return.

Saleem Abdulrasool 729379a1e1 Driver: hoist the `wchar_t` handling to the driver
Move the logic for determining the `wchar_t` type information into the
driver.  Rather than passing the single bit of information of
`-fshort-wchar` indicate to the frontend the desired type of `wchar_t`
through a new `-cc1` option of `-fwchar-type` and indicate the
signedness through `-f{,no-}signed-wchar`.  This replicates the current
logic which was spread throughout Basic into the
`RenderCharacterOptions`.

Most of the changes to the tests are to ensure that the frontend uses
the correct type.  Add a new test set under `test/Driver/wchar_t.c` to
ensure that we calculate the proper types for the various cases.

Ivan A. Kosarev 383890bad4 Refine generation of TBAA information in clang
This patch is an attempt to clarify and simplify generation and
propagation of TBAA information. The idea is to pack all values
that describe a memory access, namely, base type, access type and
offset, into a single structure. This is supposed to make further
changes, such as adding support for unions and array members,
easier to prepare and review.

DecorateInstructionWithTBAA() is no more responsible for
converting types to tags. These implicit conversions not only
complicate reading the code, but also suggest assigning scalar
access tags while we generally prefer full-size struct-path tags.

TBAAPathTag is replaced with TBAAAccessInfo; the latter is now
the type of the keys of the cache map that translates access
descriptors to metadata nodes.

Fixed a bug with writing to a wrong map in
getTBAABaseTypeMetadata() (former getTBAAStructTypeInfo()).

We now check for valid base access types every time we
dereference a field. The original code only checks the top-level
base type. See isValidBaseType() / isTBAAPathStruct() calls.

Some entities have been renamed to sound more adequate and less
confusing/misleading in presence of path-aware TBAA information.

Now we do not lookup twice for the same cache entry in
getAccessTagInfo().

Refined relevant comments and descriptions.

Akira Hatanaka 6b103bc18c [CodeGen] Emit a helper function for __builtin_os_log_format to reduce
code size.

Currently clang expands a call to __builtin_os_log_format into a long
sequence of instructions at the call site, causing code size to
increase in some cases.

This commit attempts to reduce code size by emitting a helper function
that can be shared by calls to __builtin_os_log_format with similar
formats and arguments. The helper function has linkonce_odr linkage to
enable the linker to merge identical functions across translation units.
Attribute 'noinline' is attached to the helper function at -Oz so that
the inliner doesn't inline functions that can potentially be merged.

This commit also fixes a bug where the generated IR writes past the end
of the buffer when "%m" is the last specifier appearing in the format
string passed to __builtin_os_log_format.

Summary:
* Rename -shared-libasan to -shared-libsan, keeping the old name as alias.
* Add -static-libsan for targets that default to shared.
* Remove an Android special case. It is now possible (but untested) to use static compiler-rt libraries there.
* Support libclang_rt.ubsan_standalone as a shared library.

Unlike GCC, this change applies -shared-libsan / -static-libsan to all sanitizers.
I don't see a point in multiple flags like -shared-libubsan, considering that most sanitizers
are not compatible with each other, and each link has basically a single shared/static choice.

Artem Dergachev 59428d182f [analyzer] Fix leak false positives on stuff put in C++/ObjC initializer lists.
The analyzer now realizes that C++ std::initializer_list objects and
Objective-C boxed structure/array/dictionary expressions can potentially
maintain a reference to the objects that were put into them. This avoids
false memory leak posivites and a few other issues.

This is a conservative behavior; for now, we do not model what actually happens
to the objects after being passed into such initializer lists.

In its place, track on the canonical function declaration whether there is a
declaration with a body (and if so, which one). This brings function definition
handling in line with what we do in all other contexts, and is necessary to

Yaxun Liu 10712d9203 [OpenCL] Clean up and add missing fields for block struct
Currently block is translated to a structure equivalent to

struct Block {
  void *isa;
  int flags;
  int reserved;
  void *invoke;
  void *descriptor;
};
Except invoke, which is the pointer to the block invoke function,
all other fields are useless for OpenCL, which clutter the IR and
also waste memory since the block struct is passed to the block
invoke function as argument.

On the other hand, the size and alignment of the block struct is
not stored in the struct, which causes difficulty to implement
__enqueue_kernel as library function, since the library function
needs to know the size and alignment of the argument which needs
to be passed to the kernel.

This patch removes the useless fields from the block struct and adds
size and align fields. The equivalent block struct will become

struct Block {
  int size;
  int align;
  generic void *invoke;
 /* custom fields */
};
It also changes the pointer to the invoke function to be
a generic pointer since the address space of a function
may not be private on certain targets.

In ProgramState::getSVal(Location, Type) API which dereferences a pointer value,
when the optional Type parameter is not supplied and the Location is not typed,
type should have been guessed on a best-effort basis by inspecting the Location
more deeply. However, this never worked; the auto-detected type was instead
a pointer type to the correct type.

Fixed the issue and added various test cases to demonstrate which parts of the
analyzer were affected (uninitialized pointer argument checker, C++ trivial copy
modeling, Google test API modeling checker).

Additionally, autodetected void types are automatically replaced with char,
in order to simplify checker APIs. Which means that if the location is a void
pointer, getSVal() would read the first byte through this pointer
and return its symbolic value.

Richard Smith 9bfa970a40 PR34822: Fix a collection of related bugs with our handling of C89 implicit function declarations.
We were injecting the function into the wrong semantic context, resulting in it
failing to be registered as a global for redeclaration lookup. As a
consequence, we accepted invalid code since r310616.

Fixing that resulted in the "out-of-scope declaration" diagnostic firing a lot
more often. It turned out that warning codepath was non-conforming, because it
did not cause us to inject the implicitly-declared function into the enclosing
block scope. We now only warn if the type of the out-of-scope declaration
doesn't match the type of an implicitly-declared function; in all other cases,
we produce the normal warning for an implicitly-declared function.

I've tested this out on X86FastISel.cpp. While this doesn't decrease
end-to-end compile-time significantly, it results in 122 fewer type

Apparently, the MSVC SDK has a strange implementation that
causes a number of implicit functions as well as a template member

Alexander Shaposhnikov 195b25cf3c [clang] Add getUnsignedPointerDiffType method
C11 standard refers to the unsigned counterpart of the type ptrdiff_t 
in the paragraph 7.21.6.1p7 where it defines the format specifier %tu.
In Clang (in PrintfFormatString.cpp, lines 508-510) there is a FIXME for this case,
in particular, Clang didn't diagnose %tu issues at all, i.e.
it didn't emit any warnings on the code printf("%tu", 3.14).
In this diff we add a method getUnsignedPointerDiffType for getting the corresponding type
similarly to how it's already done in the other analogous cases (size_t, ssize_t, ptrdiff_t etc)
and fix -Wformat diagnostics for %tu plus the emitted fix-it as well.

Erich Keane 97dfc4ab28 [Sema] Correct nothrow inherited by noexcept
As reported in https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33235,
a noexcept function was unable to inherit from a nothrow defaulted
constructor. Attribute "nothrow" is supposed to be semantically
identical to noexcept, and in fact, a number of other places in the
code treat them identically.

This patch simply checks the RecordDecl for the correct attribute in
the case where no other exception specifier was set.

Sean Callanan 967d438439 Add support for remembering origins to ExternalASTMerger
ExternalASTMerger has hitherto relied on being able to look up 
any Decl through its named DeclContext chain. This works for 
many cases, but causes problems for function-local structs, 
which cannot be looked up in their containing FunctionDecl. An
example case is

void f() {
  { struct S { int a; }; }
  { struct S { bool b; }; }
}

It is not possible to lookup either of the two Ses individually 
(or even to provide enough information to disambiguate) after 
parsing is over; and there is typically no need to, since they 
are invisible to the outside world.

However, ExternalASTMerger needs to be able to complete either 
S on demand. This led to an XFAIL on test/Import/local-struct, 
which this patch removes. The way the patch works is:

It defines a new data structure, ExternalASTMerger::OriginMap,
which clients are expected to maintain (default-constructing 
if the origin does not have an ExternalASTMerger servicing it)
As DeclContexts are imported, if they cannot be looked up by 
name they are placed in the OriginMap. This allows 
ExternalASTMerger to complete them later if necessary.
As DeclContexts are imported from an origin that already has 
its own OriginMap, the origins are forwarded – but only for 
those DeclContexts that are actually used. This keeps the 
amount of stored data minimal.

The patch also applies several improvements from review:

- Thoroughly documents the interface to ExternalASTMerger;
- Adds optional logging to help track what's going on; and
- Cleans up a bunch of braces and dangling elses.

https://reviews.llvm.org/rL299952 merged '>>>' tokens into a single
JavaRightLogicalShift token. This broke formatting of generics nested more than
two deep, e.g. Foo<Bar<Baz>>> because the '>>>' now weren't three '>' for
parseAngle().

Luckily, just deleting JavaRightLogicalShift fixes things without breaking the
test added in r299952, so do that.

Artem Dergachev 2064e82277 [analyzer] Fix and refactor bugreporter::getDerefExpr() API.
This API is used by checkers (and other entities) in order to track where does
a value originate from, by jumping from an expression value of which is equal
to that value to the expression from which this value has "appeared". For
example, it may be an lvalue from which the rvalue was loaded, or a function
call from which the dereferenced pointer was returned.

The function now avoids incorrectly unwrapping implicit lvalue-to-rvalue casts,
which caused crashes and incorrect intermediate diagnostic pieces. It also no
longer relies on how the expression is written when guessing what it means.

Fixes pr34373 and pr34731.

Erich Keane 99fdfb6a46 Emit section information for extern variables.
Currently, if _attribute_((section())) is used for extern variables, 
section information is not emitted in generated IR when the variables are used. 
This is expected since sections are not generated for external linkage objects. 
However NiosII requires this information as it uses special GP-relative accesses 
for any objects that use attribute section (.sdata). GCC keeps this attribute in 
  middle-end.

This change emits the section information for all targets.

Saleem Abdulrasool 3450aa7257 Sema: rename SemaBuiltinVAStart to SemaBuiltinVAStartMicrosoft
This function is used to perform semantic analysis on Microsoft style
`__va_start`.  Rename it to make this more explicit.  `__va_start` is
marked as `ALL_MS_LANGUAGES`, and requires Microsoft compatibility.
Other GNU targets will use `__builtin_va_start` instead.  NFC.

Erich Keane 99eda60b49 Allow IUnknown/IInterface types to come from extern C++
It was brought up in response to my last implementation for
this struct-as-interface features that at least 1 header in
the MS SDK uses "extern C++" around an IUnknown declaration.

The previous implementation demanded that this type exist
in the TranslationUnit DeclContext.  This small change simply
also allows in the situation where we're extern "C++".

Richard Smith 67ef14fe48 Resolve a defect in C++17 copy omission.
When selecting constructors for initializing an object of type T from a single
expression of class type U, also consider conversion functions of U that
convert to T (rather than modeling such conversions as calling a conversion
function and then calling a constructor).

This approach is proposed as the resolution for the defect, and is also already
implemented by GCC.

Saleem Abdulrasool 448e8ad943 Sema: Windows/ARM __va_start is not const correct
The `__va_start` intrinsic for Windows ARM does not account for const
correctness when performing a check.  All local qualifiers are ignored
when validating the invocation.  This was exposed by building the swift
stdlib against the Windows 10586 SDK for ARM.  Simply expand out the
check for the two parameters and ignore the qualifiers for the check.

Vlad Tsyrklevich 2eccdab308 Allow specifying sanitizers in blacklists
Summary:
This is the follow-up patch to D37924.

This change refactors clang to use the the newly added section headers
in SpecialCaseList to specify which sanitizers blacklists entries
should apply to, like so:

  [cfi-vcall]
  fun:*bad_vcall*
  [cfi-derived-cast|cfi-unrelated-cast]
  fun:*bad_cast*

The SanitizerSpecialCaseList class has been added to allow querying by
SanitizerMask, and SanitizerBlacklist and its downstream users have been
updated to provide that information. Old blacklists not using sections
will continue to function identically since the blacklist entries will
be placed into a '[*]' section by default matching against all
sanitizers.

Wei Mi 01414bdc2c Reinstall the patch "Use EmitPointerWithAlignment to get alignment information of the pointer used in atomic expr" after fixing PR31620.
This is to fix PR34347. EmitAtomicExpr now only uses alignment information from
Type, instead of Decl, so when the declaration of an atomic variable is marked
to have the alignment equal as its size, EmitAtomicExpr doesn't know about it and
will generate libcall instead of atomic op. The patch uses EmitPointerWithAlignment
to get the precise alignment information.

This patch fixes analyzer's crash on the newly added test case 
(see also https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34374).
Pointers subtraction appears to be modeled incorrectly 
in the following example:
  char* p;
  auto n = p - reinterpret_cast<char*>((unsigned long)1);
In this case the analyzer (built without this patch) 
tries to create a symbolic value for the difference 
treating reinterpret_cast<char*>((unsigned long)1) 
as an integer, that is not correct.

Akira Hatanaka 34b5dbca0a Promote storage-only __fp16 vector operands to float vectors.
This commit fixes a bug in the handling of storage-only __fp16 vectors
where clang didn't promote __fp16 vector operands to float vectors.

Conceptually, it performs the following transformation on the AST in
CreateBuiltinBinOp and CreateBuiltinUnaryOp:

(Before)
  typedef __fp16 half4 __attribute__ ((vector_size (8)));
  typedef float float4 __attribute__ ((vector_size (16)));
  half4 hv0, hv1, hv2, hv3;

  hv0 = hv1 + hv2 + hv3;

(After)
  float4 t0 = (float4)hv1 + (float4)hv2;
  float4 t1 = t0 + (float4)hv3;
  hv0 = (half4)t1;

Note that this commit fixes the bug for targets that set
HalfArgsAndReturns to true (ARM and ARM64). Targets using intrinsics
such as llvm.convert.to.fp16 to handle __fp16 are still broken.

Richard Smith df963a38a9 DR1113: anonymous namespaces formally give their contents internal linkage.
This doesn't affect our code generation in any material way -- we already give
such declarations internal linkage from a codegen perspective -- but it has
some subtle effects on code validity.

We suppress the 'L' (internal linkage) marker for mangled names in anonymous
namespaces, because it is redundant (the information is already carried by the
namespace); this deviates from GCC's behavior if a variable or function in an
anonymous namespace is redundantly declared 'static' (where GCC does include
the 'L'), but GCC's behavior is incoherent because such a declaration can be
validly declared with or without the 'static'.

We still deviate from the standard in one regard here: extern "C" declarations
in anonymous namespaces are still granted external linkage. Changing those does
not appear to have been an intentional consequence of the standard change in
DR1113.

Akira Hatanaka ba0367a708 [CodeGen][ObjC] Build the global block structure before emitting the
body of global block invoke functions.

This commit fixes an infinite loop in IRGen that occurs when compiling
the following code:

void FUNC2() {
  static void (^const block1)(int) = ^(int a){
    if (a--)
      block1(a);
  };
}

This is how IRGen gets stuck in the infinite loop:

1. GenerateBlockFunction is called to emit the body of "block1".

2. GetAddrOfGlobalBlock is called to get the address of "block1". The
   function calls getAddrOfGlobalBlockIfEmitted to check whether the
   global block has been emitted. If it hasn't been emitted, it then
   tries to emit the body of the block function by calling
   GenerateBlockFunction, which goes back to step 1.

This commit prevents the inifinite loop by building the global block in
GenerateBlockFunction before emitting the body of the block function.

Alexander Shaposhnikov 1788a9b71c [clang] Fix printf fixit for objc specific types
For the triple thumbv7-apple-ios8.0.0 ssize_t is long and size_t is unsigned long,
while NSInteger is int and NSUinteger is unsigned int. Following 
https://developer.apple.com/library/content/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/Strings/Articles/formatSpecifiers.html
Clang catches it and insert a cast to long, for example
 printf("%zd", getNSInteger())
will be replaced with 
 printf("%zd", (long)getNSInteger())
but since the underlying type of ssize_t is long the specifier "%zd" is not getting replaced.
This diff changes this behavior to enable replacing the specifier "%zd" with the correct one.

Vedant Kumar 0acf3434e7 [Coverage] Add an option to emit limited coverage info
Add an option to emit limited coverage info for unused decls. It's just a
cl::opt for now to allow us to experiment quickly.

When building llc, this results in an 84% size reduction in the llvm_covmap
section, and a similar size reduction in the llvm_prf_names section. In
practice I expect the size reduction to be roughly quadratic with the size of
the program.

The downside is that coverage for headers will no longer be complete. This will
make the line/function/region coverage metrics incorrect, since they will be
artificially high. One mitigation would be to somehow disable those metrics
when using limited-coverage=true.

called for CXXRecordDecl and CXXMethodDecl, and so libclang's behavior is
unchanged.

This is to fix PR31620. MaxAtomicInlineWidth is set to 128 for x86_64. However
for target without cx16 support, 128 atomic operation will generate __sync_*
libcalls. The patch set MaxAtomicInlineWidth to 64 if the target doesn't support
cx16.

Gabor Horvath e350b0a196 Add Cross Translation Unit support library
This patch introduces a class that can help to build tools that require cross
translation unit facilities. This class allows function definitions to be loaded
from external AST files based on an index. In order to use this functionality an
index is required. The index format is a flat text file but it might be
replaced with a different solution in the near future. USRs are used as names to
look up the functions definitions. This class also does caching to avoid
redundant loading of AST files.

Right now only function defnitions can be loaded using this API because this is
what the in progress cross translation unit feature of the Static Analyzer
requires. In to future this might be extended to classes, types etc.

Richard Smith aa6ce34141 Fix tracking of whether a destructor would be deleted.
I've been unable to find any cases whose behavior is actually changed by this,
but only because an implicitly deleted destructor also results in it being
impossible to have a trivial (non-deleted) copy constructor, which the place
where this really matters (choosing whether to pass a class in registers)
happens to also check.

Akira Hatanaka 98a49337be Add support for attribute 'noescape'.
The attribute informs the compiler that the annotated pointer parameter
of a function cannot escape and enables IRGen to attach attribute
'nocapture' to parameters that are annotated with the attribute. That is
the only optimization that currently takes advantage of 'noescape', but
there are other optimizations that will be added later that improves
IRGen for ObjC blocks.

This recommits r313722, which was reverted in r313725 because clang
couldn't build compiler-rt. It failed to build because there were
function declarations that were missing 'noescape'. That has been fixed
in r313929.

Erich Keane 69dbbb0bca Suppress Wsign-conversion for enums with matching underlying type
As reported here: https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34692

A non-defined enum with a backing type was always defaulting to
being treated as a signed type. IN the case where it IS defined,
the signed-ness of the actual items is used.

This patch uses the underlying type's signed-ness in the non-defined
case to test signed-comparision.

Volodymyr Sapsai 4fbaa62b60 [Sema] Prevent InstantiateClass from checking unrelated exception specs.
Sema::InstantiateClass should check only exception specs added during
class instantiation and ignore already present delayed specs. This fixes
a case where we instantiate a class before parsing member initializers,
check exceptions for a different class and fail to find a member
initializer. Which is required for comparing exception specs for
explicitly-defaulted and implicit default constructor. With the fix we
are still checking exception specs but only after member initializers
are present.

Removing errors in crash-unparsed-exception.cpp is acceptable according
to discussion in PR24000 because other compilers accept code in
crash-unparsed-exception.cpp as valid.

Cameron Desrochers 84fd064ef9 [PCH] Fixed preamble breaking with BOM presence (and particularly, fluctuating BOM presence)
This patch fixes broken preamble-skipping when the preamble region includes a byte order mark (BOM). Previously, parsing would fail if preamble PCH generation was enabled and a BOM was present.

This also fixes preamble invalidation when a BOM appears or disappears. This may seem to be an obscure edge case, but it happens regularly with IDEs that pass buffer overrides that never (or always) have a BOM, yet the underlying file from the initial parse that generated a PCH might (or might not) have a BOM.

I've included a test case for these scenarios.

Roman Lebedev 30d2608637 Replace r313747, don't always warn on enums, rework testcases.
As Aaron Ballman has pointed out, that is not really correct.
So the key problem there is the invalidity of the testcase.

Revert r313747, and rework testcase in such a way, so these
details (platform-specific default enum sigdness) are
accounted for.

Also, add a C++-specific testcase.

The underlying problem is that the enum is signed there.

Recommit. Original commit was reverted because buildbots broke.
The error was only reproducible in the build with assertions.
The problem was that the diagnostic expected true/false as
bool, while it was provided as string "true"/"false".

Summary:
As requested by Sam McCall:

Manuel Klimek e411aa85ac Fix clang-format's detection of structured bindings.
Correctly determine when [ is part of a structured binding instead of a
lambda.

To be able to reuse the implementation already available, this patch also:
- sets the Previous link of FormatTokens in the UnwrappedLineParser
- moves the isCppStructuredBinding function into FormatToken

Before:
  auto const const &&[x, y] { A *i };

After:
  auto const const && [x, y]{A * i};

Fixing formatting of the type of the structured binding is still missing.

Richard Smith 405e2dbf37 Implement C++ [basic.link]p8.
If a function or variable has a type with no linkage (and is not extern "C"),
any use of it requires a definition within the same translation unit; the idea
is that it is not possible to define the entity elsewhere, so any such use is
necessarily an error.

There is an exception, though: some types formally have no linkage but
nonetheless can be referenced from other translation units (for example, this
happens to anonymous structures defined within inline functions). For entities
with those types, we suppress the diagnostic except under -pedantic.
