Raphael Isemann 76e47d4887 [lldb][NFC] Use C++ versions of the deprecated C standard library headers
The C headers are deprecated so as requested in D102845, this is replacing them
all with their (not deprecated) C++ equivalent.

Jason Molenda 1f45914b42 Embed a zero-length /dev/null in darwin-debug for the special section.
Fred suggested that instead of embedded CMakeLists.txt in the binary as
the contents of a special section, see if /dev/null would work.  It
does.

Jason Molenda 83a131b276 Fix an over-suspend bug with LaunchInNewTerminalWithAppleScript sessions
When launching an inferior in a new terminal window via AppleScript
and the darwin-debug helper program, we could often end up with the
inferior process having a too-high suspend count, and it would never
resume execution.

lldb tries to wait until darwin-debug has finished its work and has
launched the inferior (WaitForProcessToSIGSTOP) but this wasn't
working correctly - and cannot be made to work.

This patch removes WaitForProcessToSIGSTOP, adds a special tiny
segment to the darwin-debug executable so it can be identified as
that binary (ExecExtraSuspend), and adds code to debugserver to
detect this segment.  When debugserver sees this segment, it notes
that the next exec will be done with a launch-suspended flag.  When
the next exec happens, debugserver forces an extra task_resume when
we resume the inferior.

An alternative approach would be if lldb could detect when the
inferior has been launched by darwin-debug unambiguously; monitoring
when the unix socket between darwin-debug and lldb was closed would
have been a reasonable way to do this too.

Stefan Granitz 110f97632e [CMake] `install-distribution` for LLDB on Darwin
Summary:
There's a number of requirements for installing LLDB on macOS that are untypical for LLVM projects: use special install-prefix for LLDB.framework, ship headers and tools as framework resources, patch RPATHs, externalize debug-info to dSYM's and strip binaries with `-ST`. For some of it we could use `llvm_externalize_debuginfo()` in the past and just add special cases. However, this complicates the code for all projects and comes with the major drawback, that it adds all these actions at build-time, i.e. dSYM creation and stripping take a lot of time and don't make sense at build-time.

LLVM's distribution mechanism (https://llvm.org/docs/BuildingADistribution.html) appears to be the natural candidate to install LLDB. Based on D64399 (enable in standalone builds), this patch integrates framework installation with the distribution mechanism and adds custom stripping flags and dSYM creation at install-time. Unlike the abandoned D61952, it leaves build-tree binaries untouched, so there's no side-effects on testing. Potential install-order issues must be handled externally.

Please let me know what you think, while I run a few more tests and add remarks+documentation.

Stefan Granitz 5dc9036746 [CMake] LLDB.framework tools handling
Summary:
Modify the way LLDB.framework tools are collected. This allows for better fine-tuning of the install behavior downstream. Each target calls `lldb_add_to_framework()` individually. When entering the function, the target exists and we can tweak its very own post-build and install steps. This was not possible with the old `LLDB_FRAMEWORK_TOOLS` approach.

No function change otherwise.
This is a reduced follow-up from the proposal in D61952.

Jonas Devlieghere 8b3af63b89 [NFC] Remove ASCII lines from comments
A lot of comments in LLDB are surrounded by an ASCII line to delimit the
begging and end of the comment.

Its use is not really consistent across the code base, sometimes the
lines are longer, sometimes they are shorter and sometimes they are
omitted. Furthermore, it looks kind of weird with the 80 column limit,
where the comment actually extends past the line, but not by much.
Furthermore, when /// is used for Doxygen comments, it looks
particularly odd. And when // is used, it incorrectly gives the
impression that it's actually a Doxygen comment.

I assume these lines were added to improve distinguishing between
comments and code. However, given that todays editors and IDEs do a
great job at highlighting comments, I think it's worth to drop this for
the sake of consistency. The alternative is fixing all the
inconsistencies, which would create a lot more churn.

Chandler Carruth 2946cd7010 Update the file headers across all of the LLVM projects in the monorepo
to reflect the new license.

We understand that people may be surprised that we're moving the header
entirely to discuss the new license. We checked this carefully with the
Foundation's lawyer and we believe this is the correct approach.

Essentially, all code in the project is now made available by the LLVM
project under our new license, so you will see that the license headers
include that license only. Some of our contributors have contributed
code under our old license, and accordingly, we have retained a copy of
our old license notice in the top-level files in each project and
repository.

Stefan Granitz f126ce6881 [CMake] Revised LLDB.framework builds
Summary:
Add features to LLDB CMake builds that have so far only been available in Xcode. Clean up a few inconveniences and prepare further improvements.

Options:
* `LLDB_FRAMEWORK_BUILD_DIR` determines target directory (in build-tree)
* `LLDB_FRAMEWORK_INSTALL_DIR` **only** determines target directory in install-tree
* `LLVM_EXTERNALIZE_DEBUGINFO` allows externalized debug info (dSYM on Darwin, emitted to `bin`)
* `LLDB_FRAMEWORK_TOOLS` determines which executables will be copied to the framework's Resources (dropped symlinking, removed INCLUDE_IN_SUITE, removed dummy targets)

Other changes:
* clean up `add_lldb_executable()`
* include `LLDBFramework.cmake` from `source/API/CMakeLists.txt`
* use `*.plist.in` files, which are typical for CMake and independent from Xcode
* add clang headers to the framework bundle

Jonas Devlieghere 672d2c1255 Remove comments after header includes.
This patch removes the comments following the header includes. They were
added after running IWYU over the LLDB codebase. However they add little
value, are often outdates and burdensome to maintain.

Alex Langford 27510c18ad Introduce lldb-framework CMake target and centralize its logic
Summary:
In this patch I aim to do the following:

1) Create an lldb-framework target that acts as the target that handles generating LLDB.framework. Previously, liblldb acted as the target for generating the framework in addition to generating the actual lldb library. This made the target feel overloaded.
2) Centralize framework generation as much as it makes sense to do so.
3) Create a target lldb-suite, which depends on every tool and library that makes liblldb fully functional. One result of having this target is it makes tracking dependencies much clearer.

In LLVM's CMake we have a convention that components have both a build and an install target. Making LLDB follow this convention will allow LLDB to take advantage of the LLVM_DISTRIBUTION_COMPONENTS build option from LLVM.

Chris Bieneman d3199f5ed2 [CMake] Initial support for LLDB.framework
Summary:
This patch adds a CMake option LLDB_BUILD_FRAMEWORK, which builds libLLDB as a macOS framework instead of as a *nix shared library.

With this patch any LLDB executable that has the INCLUDE_IN_FRAMEWORK option set will be built into the Framework's resources directory, and a symlink to the exeuctable will be placed under the build directory's bin folder. Creating the symlinks allows users to run commands from the build directory without altering the workflow.

The framework generated by this patch passes the LLDB test suite, but has not been tested beyond that. It is not expected to be fully ready to ship, but it is a first step.

With this patch binaries that are placed inside the framework aren't being properly installed. Fixing that would increase the patch size significantly, so I'd like to do that in a follow-up.

Kate Stone b9c1b51e45 *** This commit represents a complete reformatting of the LLDB source code
*** to conform to clang-format’s LLVM style.  This kind of mass change has
*** two obvious implications:

Firstly, merging this particular commit into a downstream fork may be a huge
effort.  Alternatively, it may be worth merging all changes up to this commit,
performing the same reformatting operation locally, and then discarding the
merge for this particular commit.  The commands used to accomplish this
reformatting were as follows (with current working directory as the root of
the repository):

    find . \( -iname "*.c" -or -iname "*.cpp" -or -iname "*.h" -or -iname "*.mm" \) -exec clang-format -i {} +
    find . -iname "*.py" -exec autopep8 --in-place --aggressive --aggressive {} + ;

The version of clang-format used was 3.9.0, and autopep8 was 1.2.4.

Secondly, “blame” style tools will generally point to this commit instead of
a meaningful prior commit.  There are alternatives available that will attempt
to look through this change and find the appropriate prior commit.  YMMV.

Zachary Turner 0bf09687fb Fix darwin-debug build in cmake (OS X)
This patch fixes test_launch_in_terminal test which doesn't work
in OS X since the moment as it was added in r225284. The test fails
because Target::Launch returns the following error: "the darwin-debug
executable doesn't exist at
<output_dir>/lib/python2.7/site-packages/lldb/darwin-debug'".

Benjamin Kramer 0f30a3ea25 Remove unused python includes from headers.
Python.h is a bad c++ citizen and overwrites some functions with its own
macros. This conflicts with libc++'s locale header. I did some refactoring
to use Python.h only where it's actually needed a few months ago so
the unnecessary includes can be removed now.

Greg Clayton 708c1ab6f5 Python does some bad things to the signal masks in the current process and
then we spawn child processes (debugserver, etc) and those bad settings get 
inherited. We stop this from happening by correctly mucking with the posix
spawn attributes.

Greg Clayton 8b82f087a0 Moved the execution context that was in the Debugger into
the CommandInterpreter where it was always being used.

Make sure that Modules can track their object file offsets correctly to
allow opening of sub object files (like the "__commpage" on darwin).

Modified the Platforms to be able to launch processes. The first part of this
move is the platform soon will become the entity that launches your program
and when it does, it uses a new ProcessLaunchInfo class which encapsulates
all process launching settings. This simplifies the internal APIs needed for
launching. I want to slowly phase out process launching from the process
classes, so for now we can still launch just as we used to, but eventually
the platform is the object that should do the launching.

Modified the Host::LaunchProcess in the MacOSX Host.mm to correctly be able
to launch processes with all of the new eLaunchFlag settings. Modified any
code that was manually launching processes to use the Host::LaunchProcess
functions.

Fixed an issue where lldb_private::Args had implicitly defined copy 
constructors that could do the wrong thing. This has now been fixed by adding
an appropriate copy constructor and assignment operator.

Make sure we don't add empty ModuleSP entries to a module list.

Fixed the commpage module creation on MacOSX, but we still need to train
the MacOSX dynamic loader to not get rid of it when it doesn't have an entry
in the all image infos.

Abstracted many more calls from in ProcessGDBRemote down into the 
GDBRemoteCommunicationClient subclass to make the classes cleaner and more
efficient.

Fixed the default iOS ARM register context to be correct and also added support
for targets that don't support the qThreadStopInfo packet by selecting the
current thread (only if needed) and then sending a stop reply packet.

Debugserver can now start up with a --unix-socket (-u for short) and can 
then bind to port zero and send the port it bound to to a listening process
on the other end. This allows the GDB remote platform to spawn new GDB server
instances (debugserver) to allow platform debugging.

Greg Clayton bd82a5d2cc Added a new variant of SBTarget::Launch() that deprectates the old one that
takes separate file handles for stdin, stdout, and stder and also allows for
the working directory to be specified.

Added support to "process launch" to a new option: --working-dir=PATH. We
can now set the working directory. If this is not set, it defaults to that
of the process that has LLDB loaded. Added the working directory to the
host LaunchInNewTerminal function to allows the current working directory 
to be set in processes that are spawned in their own terminal. Also hooked this
up to the lldb_private::Process and all mac plug-ins. The linux plug-in had its
API changed, but nothing is making use of it yet. Modfied "debugserver" and
"darwin-debug" to also handle the current working directory options and modified
the code in LLDB that spawns these tools to pass the info along.

Fixed ProcessGDBRemote to properly pass along all file handles for stdin, stdout
and stderr. 

After clearing the default values for the stdin/out/err file handles for
process to be NULL, we had a crasher in UserSettingsController::UpdateStringVariable
which is now fixed. Also fixed the setting of boolean values to be able to
be set as "true", "yes", "on", "1" for true (case insensitive) and "false", "no",
"off", or "0" for false.

Fixed debugserver to properly handle files for STDIN, STDOUT and STDERR that are not
already opened. Previous to this fix debugserver would only correctly open and dupe
file handles for the slave side of a pseudo terminal. It now correctly handles
getting STDIN for the inferior from a file, and spitting STDOUT and STDERR out to
files. Also made sure the file handles were correctly opened with the NOCTTY flag
for terminals.

Greg Clayton 6162f9774a Fixed all known race conditions with starting a process in a new terminal.
We now spawn a thread to accept a unix socket connection from the inferior
when it spawns in the terminal, then we launch the process, then we get
the pid back through the unix socket, and then wait for it to SIGSTOP.

darwin-debug now clears the terminal screen and prints out the program and
arguments that are about to be launched.

Greg Clayton 3fcbed6bda Stop the driver from handling SIGPIPE in case we communicate with stale
sockets so the driver doesn't just crash.

Added support for connecting to named sockets (unix IPC sockets) in
ConnectionFileDescriptor.

Modified the Host::LaunchInNewTerminal() for MacOSX to return the process
ID of the inferior process instead of the process ID of the Terminal.app. This
was done by modifying the "darwin-debug" executable to connect to lldb through
a named unix socket which is passed down as an argument. This allows a quick
handshake between "lldb" and "darwin-debug" so we can get the process ID
of the inferior and then attach by process ID and avoid attaching to the 
inferior by process name since there could be more than one process with 
that name. This still has possible race conditions, those will be fixed
in the near future. This fixes the SIGPIPE issues that were sometimes being
seen when task_for_pid was failing.

but something is still killing our inferior.

Fixed an issue with darwin-debug where it wasn't passing all needed arguments
to the inferior.

Fixed a race condition with the attach to named process code.

Greg Clayton dd36defda7 Added a new Host call to find LLDB related paths:

This will fill in "file_spec" with an appropriate path that is appropriate
for the current Host OS. MacOSX will return paths within the LLDB.framework,
and other unixes will return the paths they want. The current PathType
enums are:

All places that were finding executables are and python paths are now updated
to use this Host call.

Added another new host call to launch the inferior in a terminal. This ability
will be very host specific and doesn't need to be supported on all systems.
MacOSX currently will create a new .command file and tell Terminal.app to open
the .command file. It also uses the new "darwin-debug" app which is a small
app that uses posix to exec (no fork) and stop at the entry point of the 
program. The GDB remote plug-in is almost able launch a process and attach to
it, it currently will spawn the process, but it won't attach to it just yet.
This will let LLDB not have to share the terminal with another process and a
new terminal window will pop up when you launch. This won't get hooked up
until we work out all of the kinks. The new Host function is:

Cleaned up FileSpec::GetPath to not use strncpy() as it was always zero 
filling the entire path buffer.

Fixed an issue with the dynamic checker function where I missed a '$' prefix
that should have been added.
