Alex Bradbury 3e1478f866 [RISCV] Create a LinuxTargetInfo when targeting Linux
Previously, RISCV32TargetInfo or RISCV64TargetInfo were created
unconditionally. Use LinuxTargetInfo<RISCV??TargetInfo> to ensure that the
proper OS-specific defines are present.

This patch only adds logic to instantiate LinuxTargetInfo and leaves a TODO,
as I'm reluctant to add logic for other targets (e.g. FreeBSD, RTEMS) until
I've produced and tested at least one binary for that OS+target combo.

Thanks to @mgrang to reporting the issue.

Hubert Tong 7d96b79194 Use backslash escape, replacing xargs -0 in test macro-multiline.c
Summary:
xargs supports escaping of newline characters with backslash.
xargs -0 is neither part of POSIX nor the LSB.

This patch removes the -0 option and adjusts the input to xargs
accordingly; that is, the input is a text file not ending in an
incomplete line, and the newline of interest is preceded by a backslash.

Note: The treatment of escaped newline characters is not as clearly
specified by POSIX as for escaped blank characters; however, the same
can be said for escaped backslashes. It is slightly more clear for the
case where the -I option is used; however, -I is also of limited
portability.

Craig Topper d2fe244a6a Revert r321504 "[X86] Don't accidentally enable PKU on cannon lake and icelake or CLWB on cannonlake."
I based that commit on what was in Intel's public documentation here https://software.intel.com/sites/default/files/managed/c5/15/architecture-instruction-set-extensions-programming-reference.pdf

Which specifically said CLWB wasn't until Icelake.

But I've since cross checked with SDE and it thinks these features exist on CNL and ICL. So now I don't know what to believe.

I've added test coverage of the current behavior as part of the revert so at least now have proof of what we're doing.

Erich Keane bb322555af For Linux/gnu compatibility, preinclude <stdc-predef.h> if the file is available
As reported in llvm bugzilla 32377.
Here’s a patch to add preinclude of stdc-predef.h.

The gcc documentation says “On GNU/Linux, <stdc-predef.h> is pre-included.” See https://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.8/porting_to.html;

The preinclude is inhibited with –ffreestanding.

Basically I fixed the failing test cases by adding –ffreestanding which inhibits this behavior.

I fixed all the failing tests, including some in extra/test, there's a separate patch for that which is linked here

Note: this is a recommit after a test failure took down the original (r318669)

Fedora27 is using a new version of glibc that refers to the _Float128 type. This
patch adds that name as an alias to float128. I also added some predefined macro
values for the digits, mantissa, epilon, etc (FloatMacros). For the test case, I
copied an existing float128 test. This functionality needs work long term, but
it should be sufficient to tread water for a while. At Intel we have test
servers running our LLVM compiler with various open source workloads, the server
has been upgraded to Fedora27 so many workloads are failing due to _Float128.

Keith Walker a4097075e2 [ARM] disable FPU features when using soft floating point.
To be compatible with GCC if soft floating point is in effect any FPU
specified is effectively ignored, eg,

  -mfloat-abi=soft -fpu=neon

If any floating point features which require FPU hardware are enabled
they must be disable.

There was some support for doing this for NEON, but it did not handle
VFP, nor did it prevent the backend from emitting the build attribute
Tag_FP_arch describing the generated code as using the floating point
hardware if a FPU was specified (even though soft float does not use
the FPU).

Disabling the hardware floating point features for targets which are
compiling for soft float has meant that some tests which were incorrectly
checking for hardware support also needed to be updated. In such cases,
where appropriate the tests have been updated to check compiling for
soft float and a non-soft float variant (usually softfp). This was
usually because the target specified in the test defaulted to soft float.

This matches platforms that follow the usual `2 * sizeof(void*)`
alignment requirement for malloc. We might want to consider making that
the default rather than relying on long double alignment.

As reported in llvm bugzilla 32377.
Here’s a patch to add preinclude of stdc-predef.h.

The gcc documentation says “On GNU/Linux, <stdc-predef.h> is pre-included.”
See https://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.8/porting_to.html;

The preinclude is inhibited with –ffreestanding.

Basically I fixed the failing test cases by adding –ffreestanding which inhibits
this behavior.

I fixed all the failing tests, including some in extra/test, there's a separate

Sumanth Gundapaneni 57098f5ac3 [Hexagon] Handling of new HVX flags and target-features
This patch has the following changes
A new flag "-mhvx-length={64B|128B}" is introduced to specify the length of the vector.
Previously we have used "-mhvx-double" for 128 Bytes. This adds the target-feature "+hvx-length{64|128}b"

The "-mhvx" flag must be provided on command line to enable HVX for Hexagon. If no -mhvx-length flag
is specified, a default length is picked from the arch mentioned in this priority order from either -mhvx=vxx
or -mcpu. For v60 and v62 the default length is 64 Byte. For unknown versions, the length is 128 Byte. The
-mhvx flag adds the target-feature "+hvxv{hvx_version}"

The 64 Byte mode is soon going to be deprecated. A warning is emitted if 64 Byte is enabled. A warning is
still emitted for the default 64 Byte as well. This warning can be suppressed with a -Wno flag.

The "-mhvx-double" and "-mno-hvx-double" flags are deprecated. A warning is emitted if the driver sees
them on commandline. "-mhvx-double" is an alias to "-mhvx-length=128B"

The compilation will error out if -mhvx-length is specified with out an -mhvx/-mhvx= flag

The macro HVX_LENGTH is defined and is set to the length of the vector.
Eg: #define HVX_LENGTH 64

The macro HVX_ARCH is defined and is set to the version of the HVX.
Eg: #define HVX_ARCH 62

Faisal Vali 1826842865 [c++2a] Implement P0306 __VA_OPT__ (Comma omission and comma deletion)
This patch implements an extension to the preprocessor:

__VA_OPT__(contents) --> which expands into its contents if variadic arguments are supplied to the parent macro, or behaves as an empty token if none.

  - Currently this feature is only enabled for C++2a (this could be enabled, with some careful tweaks, for other dialects with the appropriate extension or compatibility warnings)

  - The patch was reviewed here: https://reviews.llvm.org/D35782 and asides from the above (and moving some of the definition and expansion recognition logic into the corresponding state machines), I believe I incorporated all of Richard's suggestions.

A few technicalities (most of which were clarified through private correspondence between rsmith, hubert and thomas) are worth mentioning. Given:

    #define F(a,...) a #__VA_OPT__(a ## a)  a ## __VA_OPT__(__VA_ARGS__)

    - The call F(,) Does not supply any tokens for the variadic arguments and hence VA_OPT behaves as a placeholder.
    - When expanding VA_OPT (for e.g. F(,1) token pasting occurs eagerly within its contents if the contents need to be stringified.
    - A hash or a hashhash prior to VA_OPT does not inhibit expansion of arguments if they are the first token within VA_OPT.
    - When a variadic argument is supplied, argument substitution occurs within the contents as does stringification - and these resulting tokens are inserted back into the macro expansions token stream just prior to the entire stream being rescanned and concatenated.

See wg21.link/P0306 for further details on the feature.

Yaxun Liu 39195062c2 Add OpenCL 2.0 atomic builtin functions as Clang builtin
OpenCL 2.0 atomic builtin functions have a scope argument which is ideally
represented as synchronization scope argument in LLVM atomic instructions.

Clang supports translating Clang atomic builtin functions to LLVM atomic
instructions. However it currently does not support synchronization scope
of LLVM atomic instructions. Without this, users have to use LLVM assembly
code to implement OpenCL atomic builtin functions.

This patch adds OpenCL 2.0 atomic builtin functions as Clang builtin
functions, which supports generating LLVM atomic instructions with
synchronization scope operand.

Currently only constant memory scope argument is supported. Support of

Olivier Goffart 90f981bc5b Keep the IdentifierInfo in the Token for alternative operator keyword
The goal of this commit is to fix clang-format so it does not merge tokens when
using the alternative spelling keywords. (eg: "not foo" should not become "notfoo")

The problem is that Preprocessor::HandleIdentifier used to drop the identifier info
from the token for these keyword. This means the first condition of
TokenAnnotator::spaceRequiredBefore is not met. We could add explicit check for
the spelling in that condition, but I think it is better to keep the IdentifierInfo
and handle the operator keyword explicitly when needed. That actually leads to simpler
code, and probably slightly more efficient as well.

Another side effect of this change is that __identifier(and) will now work as
one would expect, removing a FIXME from the MicrosoftExtensions.cpp test

Richard Smith d13863008b Add #pragma clang module begin/end pragmas and generate them when preprocessing a module.
These pragmas are intended to simulate the effect of entering or leaving a file
with an associated module. This is not completely implemented yet: declarations
between the pragmas will not be attributed to the correct module, but macro
visibility is already functional.

Modules named by #pragma clang module begin must already be known to clang (in
some module map that's either loaded or on the search path).

Richard Smith c51c38b4ec Add pragma to perform module import and use it in -E output.
Many of our supported configurations support modules but do not have any
first-class syntax to perform a module import. This leaves us with a problem:
there is no way to represent the expansion of a #include that imports a module
in the -E output for such languages. (We don't want to just leave it as a
#include because that requires the consumer of the preprocessed source to have
the same file system layout and include paths as the creator.)

This patch adds a new pragma:

  #pragma clang module import MODULE.NAME.HERE

that imports a module, and changes -E and -frewrite-includes to use it when
rewriting a #include that maps to a module import. We don't make any attempt
to use a native language syntax import if one exists, to get more consistent
output. (If in the future, @import and #include have different semantics in
some way, the pragma will track the #include semantics.)

Duncan P. N. Exon Smith e77a3aff6f Headers: Make the type of SIZE_MAX the same as size_t
size_t is usually defined as unsigned long, but on 64-bit platforms,
stdint.h currently defines SIZE_MAX using "ull" (unsigned long long).
Although this is the same width, it doesn't necessarily have the same
alignment or calling convention. It also triggers printf warnings when
using the format flag "%zu" to print SIZE_MAX.

This changes SIZE_MAX to reuse the compiler-provided __SIZE_MAX__, and
provides similar fixes for the other integers:

  - INTPTR_MIN
  - INTPTR_MAX
  - UINTPTR_MAX
  - PTRDIFF_MIN
  - PTRDIFF_MAX
  - INTMAX_MIN
  - INTMAX_MAX
  - UINTMAX_MAX
  - INTMAX_C()
  - UINTMAX_C()

... and fixes the typedefs for intptr_t and uintptr_t to use
__INTPTR_TYPE__ and __UINTPTR_TYPE__ instead of int32_t, effectively
reverting r89224, r89226, and r89237 (r89221 already having been
effectively reverted).

We can probably also kill __INTPTR_WIDTH__, __INTMAX_WIDTH__, and
__UINTMAX_WIDTH__ in a follow-up, but I was hesitant to delete all the
per-target CHECK lines in this commit since those might serve their own
purpose.

Duncan P. N. Exon Smith cfc1f6a6ee Preprocessor: Suppress -Wnonportable-include-path for header maps
If a file search involves a header map, suppress
-Wnonportable-include-path. It's firing lots of false positives for
framework authors internally, and it's not trivial to fix.

Consider a framework called "Foo" with a main (installed) framework header
"Foo/Foo.h". It's atypical for "Foo.h" to actually live inside a
directory called "Foo" in the source repository. Instead, the
build system generates a header map while building the framework.
If Foo.h lives at the top-level of the source repository (common), and
the git repo is called ssh://some.url/foo.git, then the header map will
have something like:

    Foo/Foo.h -> /Users/myname/code/foo/Foo.h

where "/Users/myname/code/foo" is the clone of ssh://some.url/foo.git.

After #import <Foo/Foo.h>, the current implementation of
-Wnonportable-include-path will falsely assume that Foo.h was found in a
nonportable way, because of the name of the git clone (.../foo/Foo.h).
However, that directory name was not involved in the header search at
all.

This commit adds an extra parameter to Preprocessor::LookupFile and
HeaderSearch::LookupFile to track if the search used a header map,
making it easy to suppress the warning. Longer term, once we find a way
to avoid the false positive, we should turn the warning back on.

Eric Fiselier 4b2c8f75a1 Add __CLANG_ATOMIC_<TYPE>_LOCK_FREE macros for use in MSVC compatibility mode.
Summary:
Libc++ currently implements the `ATOMIC_<TYPE>_LOCK_FREE` macros using the `__GCC_ATOMIC_<TYPE>_LOCK_FREE` macros. However these are not available when MSVC compatibility is enabled even though C11 `_Atomic` is. This prevents libc++ from correctly implementing `ATOMIC_<TYPE>_LOCK_FREE`.

James Y Knight b214cbc785 Make TargetInfo store an actual DataLayout instead of a string.
Use it to calculate UserLabelPrefix, instead of specifying it (often
incorrectly).

Note that the *actual* user label prefix has always come from the
DataLayout, and is handled within LLVM. The main thing clang's
TargetInfo::UserLabelPrefix did was to set the #define value. Having
these be different from each-other is just silly.

Oliver Stannard 3086c04a93 [ARM] Add command-line options for ARMv8.2-A
This allows ARMv8.2-A to be targeted either by using "armv8.2a" in the
triple, or by using -march=armv8.2-a (or the alias -march=armv8.2a).

The FP16 extension can be enabled with the "+fp16" suffix to the -march
or -mcpu option. This is consistent with the AArch64 option, rather than
the usual ARM option of -mfpu. We have agreed with the team which will
be upstreaming this to GCC that we want to use this new option format
for new architecture extensions for both ARM and AArch64.

Most of the work for this was done by the TargetParser patch in llvm.

Ulrich Weigand b038a5268f [SystemZ] Define __GCC_HAVE_SYNC_COMPARE_AND_SWAP macros
Define __GCC_HAVE_SYNC_COMPARE_AND_SWAP_[1248] macros on SystemZ.

This fixes a miscompile of GCC C++11 standard library headers
due to use of those macros in an ABI-changing manner.

See e.g. /usr/include/c++/4.8.5/ext/concurrence.h:

  // Compile time constant that indicates prefered locking policy in
  // the current configuration.
  static const _Lock_policy __default_lock_policy =
#ifdef __GTHREADS
#if (defined(__GCC_HAVE_SYNC_COMPARE_AND_SWAP_2) \
     && defined(__GCC_HAVE_SYNC_COMPARE_AND_SWAP_4))
  _S_atomic;
#else
  _S_mutex;
#endif
#else
  _S_single;
#endif

A different choice of __default_lock_policy causes different
sizes of several of the C++11 data structures, which are then
incompatible when inlined in clang-compiled code with what the
(GCC-compiled) external library expects.

This in turn leads to various crashes when using std::thread
in code compiled with clang, as see e.g. via the ThreadPool
unit tests. See PR 26473 for an example.

Nico Weber b2348f4ced Add -Wexpansion-to-undefined: warn when using `defined` in a macro definition.
[cpp.cond]p4:
  Prior to evaluation, macro invocations in the list of preprocessing
  tokens that will become the controlling constant expression are replaced
  (except for those macro names modified by the 'defined' unary operator),
  just as in normal text. If the token 'defined' is generated as a result
  of this replacement process or use of the 'defined' unary operator does
  not match one of the two specified forms prior to macro replacement, the
  behavior is undefined.

This isn't an idle threat, consider this program:
  #define FOO
  #define BAR defined(FOO)
  #if BAR
  ...
  #else
  ...
  #endif
clang and gcc will pick the #if branch while Visual Studio will take the
#else branch. Emit a warning about this undefined behavior.

One problem is that this also applies to function-like macros. While the
example above can be written like

    #if defined(FOO) && defined(BAR)
    #defined HAVE_FOO 1
    #else
    #define HAVE_FOO 0
    #endif

there is no easy way to rewrite a function-like macro like `#define FOO(x)
(defined __foo_##x && __foo_##x)`. Function-like macros like this are used in
practice, and compilers seem to not have differing behavior in that case. So
this a default-on warning only for object-like macros. For function-like
macros, it is an extension warning that only shows up with `-pedantic`.
(But it's undefined behavior in both cases.)
