Evgeniy Stepanov da1cf9287c Cross-DSO control flow integrity (compiler-rt part).
This is an initial version of the runtime cross-DSO CFI support
library.

It contains a number of FIXMEs, ex. it does not support the
diagnostic mode nor dlopen/dlclose, but it works and can be tested.
Diagnostic mode, in particular, would require some refactoring (we'd
like to gather all CFI hooks in the UBSan library into one function
so that we could easier pass the diagnostic information down to
__cfi_check). It will be implemented later.

Once the diagnostic mode is in, I plan to create a second test
configuration to run all existing tests in both modes. For now, this
patch includes only a few new cross-DSO tests.

Adhemerval Zanella eaf1162687 [compiler-rt] [safestack] Enable for aarch64
This patch enables the safestack for aarch64. The frontend already have
it enabled on all supported architectures and no adjustment is required
in llvm.

The compiler-rt adjustments are basically add on the cmake configuration
to enable the tests and fix the pagesize debug check by getting its
value at runtime (since aarch64 has multiple pagesize depending of
kernel configuration).

Chris Bieneman e82ad46f15 [CMake] Provide options for toggling on and off various runtime libraries.
Summary:
Rather than having to add new "experimental" options each time someone wants to work on bringing a sanitizer to a new platform, this patch makes options for all of them.

The default values for the options are set by the platform checks that would have enabled them, but they can be overridden on or off.

Sumanth Gundapaneni dbb8a1d8e7 Fix the target specific "-msse3" flag check in CMake. NFC
msse3 is a target dependent flag and must be guarded as check_cxx_compiler_flag()
checks only for compiler error messages and ignores warnings. Earlier COMPILER_RT_HAS_MSSE3_FLAG
is set to "TRUE" for all targets as clang emits warnings and the compilation spits unnecessary
warnings for non-X86 targets. This issue is fixed by coupling the flag with "-Werror"

Bill Schmidt 2979162732 [PPC64, TSAN] LLVM basic enablement of thread sanitizer for PPC64 (BE and LE)
This patch is by Simone Atzeni with portions by Adhemerval Zanella.

This contains the LLVM patches to enable the thread sanitizer for
PPC64, both big- and little-endian. Two different virtual memory
sizes are supported: Old kernels use a 44-bit address space, while
newer kernels require a 46-bit address space.

There are two companion patches that will be added shortly. There is
a Clang patch to actually turn on the use of the thread sanitizer for
PPC64. There is also a patch that I wrote to provide interceptor
support for setjmp/longjmp on PPC64.

Patch discussion at reviews.llvm.org/D12841.

Kuba Brecka c9249498ce [tsan] CMake support for TSan on OS X
Hi, this patch adds a CMake flag called `COMPILER_RT_ENABLE_TSAN_OSX`, which is off by default. If enabled, the build system will be building the OS X version of the TSan runtime library (called `libclang_rt.tsan_osx_dynamic.dylib`). I'll submit patches that fix OS X build errors shortly.

This is part of an effort to port TSan to OS X, and it's one the very first steps. Don't expect TSan on OS X to actually work or pass tests at this point.

Building the builtins on Darwin platforms is a bit complicated. This is a first-pass implementation of the functionality from clang_darwin.mk into CMake.

Adhemerval Zanella 19074450ee [MSan] Enable MSAN for aarch64
This patch enabled msan for aarch64 with 39-bit VMA and 42-bit VMA.
As defined by lib/msan/msan.h the memory layout used is for 39-bit is:

   00 0000 0000 - 40 0000 0000: invalid
   40 0000 0000 - 43 0000 0000: shadow
   43 0000 0000 - 46 0000 0000: origin
   46 0000 0000 - 55 0000 0000: invalid
   55 0000 0000 - 56 0000 0000: app (low)
   56 0000 0000 - 70 0000 0000: invalid
   70 0000 0000 - 80 0000 0000: app (high)

And for 42-bit VMA:

   000 0000 0000 - 100 0000 0000: invalid
   100 0000 0000 - 11b 0000 0000: shadow
   11b 0000 0000 - 120 0000 0000: invalid
   120 0000 0000 - 13b 0000 0000: origin
   13b 0000 0000 - 2aa 0000 0000: invalid
   2aa 0000 0000 - 2ab 0000 0000: app (low)
   2ab 0000 0000 - 3f0 0000 0000: invalid
   3f0 0000 0000 - 400 0000 0000: app (high)

Most of tests are passing with exception of:

   * Linux/mallinfo.cc
   * chained_origin_limits.cc
   * dlerror.cc
   * param_tls_limit.cc
   * signal_stress_test.cc
   * nonnull-arg.cpp

The 'Linux/mallinfo.cc' is due the fact AArch64 returns the sret in 'x8'
instead of default first argument 'x1'. So a function prototype that
aims to mimic (by using first argument as the return of function) won't
work. For GCC one can make a register alias (register var asm ("r8")), but
for clang it detects is an unused variable and generate wrong code.

The 'chained_origin_limits' is probably due a wrong code generation,
since it fails only when origin memory is used
(-fsanitize-memory-track-origins=2) and only in the returned code
(return buf[50]).

The 'signal_streess_test' and 'nonnull-arg' are due currently missing variadic
argument handling in memory sanitizer code instrumentation on LLVM side.

Both 'dlerror' and 'param_tls_test' are unknown failures that require
further investigation.

All the failures are XFAIL for aarch64 for now.

Peter Collingbourne b64d0b1e6d Protection against stack-based memory corruption errors using SafeStack: compiler-rt runtime support library
This patch adds runtime support for the Safe Stack protection to compiler-rt
(see http://reviews.llvm.org/D6094 for the detailed description of the
Safe Stack).

This patch is our implementation of the safe stack on top of compiler-rt. The
patch adds basic runtime support for the safe stack to compiler-rt that
manages unsafe stack allocation/deallocation for each thread.

Original patch by Volodymyr Kuznetsov and others at the Dependable Systems
Lab at EPFL; updates and upstreaming by myself.

Summary:
This change takes darwin-specific goop that was scattered around CMakeLists files and spread between add_compiler_rt_object_library and add_compiler_rt_darwin_object_library and moves it all under add_compiler_rt_object_library.

The goal of this is to try to push platform handling as low in the utility functions as possible.

Evgeniy Stepanov 8e9c70be7f Add descriptive names to sanitizer entries in /proc/self/maps. Helps debugging.
This is done by creating a named shared memory region, unlinking it
and setting up a private (i.e. copy-on-write) mapping of that instead
of a regular anonymous mapping. I've experimented with regular
(sparse) files, but they can not be scaled to the size of MSan shadow
mapping, at least on Linux/X86_64 and ext3 fs.

Controlled by a common flag, decorate_proc_maps, disabled by default.

This patch has a few shortcomings:
* not all mappings are annotated, especially in TSan.
* our handling of memset() of shadow via mmap() puts small anonymous
mappings inside larger named mappings, which looks ugly and can, in
theory, hit the mapping number limit.

Summary:
Change the way we use ASan and UBSan together. Instead of keeping two
separate runtimes (libclang_rt.asan and libclang_rt.ubsan), embed UBSan
into ASan and get rid of libclang_rt.ubsan. If UBSan is not supported on
a platform, all UBSan sources are just compiled into dummy empty object
files. UBSan initialization code (e.g. flag parsing) is directly called
from ASan initialization, so we are able to enforce correct
initialization order.

This mirrors the approach we already use for ASan+LSan. This change
doesn't modify the way we use standalone UBSan.

Alexey Samsonov 969902b43b [ASan] Always build shared ASan runtime on Linux.
This commit changes the strategy for building shared ASan runtime
and the way we test it:
  - COMPILER_RT_BUILD_SHARED_ASAN CMake option is removed. We now
always build shared ASan runtime (it is the default on Android,
Windows and Mac, and not the default on Linux and FreeBSD).
  - Platforms, which use static runtime by default now have
"check-asan-dynamic" testsuite. This testsuite contains instrumented
unit tests, and ASan lit tests, and runs them with shared ASan
runtime. This testsuite is *not* a part of "check-asan" and
*not* a part of "check-all", as adding 1000 more test cases, which
duplicate existing ones is costly. However, you're welcome to
add this command to your buildbot.

This means for example that clang_rt.asan_dynamic-i386.dll will get built

This also fixes the asan asan_and_llvm_coverage_test test, which
compiles with -coverage so requires that a profiling version of

how CMake drives a windows link and how our custom command does.

Chandler Carruth 57e0ec7d20 Teach the compiler-rt custom compilation and linking CMake rules used
for sanitizers to pass the C++ compilation and exe linking flags through
from the host CMake configuration. We pass the target flags afterward,
allowing them to trump flags as needed. This is particularly important
when the flags direct Clang, even the just-built-Clang, toward the
standard library, linker, and other tools to use.

Alexey Samsonov eacb4d8417 [CMake] Use ExternalProject to build MSan-ified version of libcxx for unit tests.
This change lets MSan rely on libcxx's own build system instead of manually
compiling its sources and setting up all the necessary compile flags. It would
also simplify compiling libcxx with another sanitizers (in particular, TSan).

The tricky part is to make sure libcxx is reconfigured/rebuilt when Clang or
MSan runtime library is changed. "clobber" step used in this patch works well
for me, but it's possible it would break for other configurations - will
watch the buildbots.
