Gabor Marton ae512b83d5 [ASTImporter] Fix structural eq of lambdas
Summary:
The structural equivalence check reported false eq between lambda classes
with different parameters in their call signature.
The solution is to check the methods for equality too in case of lambda
classes.

Gabor Marton aefcf5100a [ASTImporter] Fix LLDB lookup in transparent ctx and with ext src
Summary:
With LLDB we use localUncachedLookup(), however, that fails to find
Decls when a transparent context is involved and the given DC has
external lexical storage. The solution is to use noload_lookup, which
works well with transparent contexts. But, we cannot use only the
noload_lookup since the slow case of localUncachedLookup is still needed
in some other cases.

These other cases are handled in ASTImporterLookupTable, but we cannot
use that with LLDB since that traverses through the AST which initiates
the load of external decls again via DC::decls().

We must avoid loading external decls during the import becuase
ExternalASTSource is implemented with ASTImporter, so external loads
during import results in uncontrolled and faulty import.

Ben Hamilton f4c2d57f76 [clang-format] Don't detect call to ObjC class method as C++11 attribute specifier
Summary:
Previously, clang-format detected something like the following as a C++11 attribute specifier.

  @[[NSArray class]]

instead of an array with an Objective-C method call inside. In general, when the attribute specifier checking runs, if it sees 2 identifiers in a row, it decides that the square brackets represent an Objective-C method call. However, here, `class` is tokenized as a keyword instead of an identifier, so this check fails.

To fix this, the attribute specifier first checks whether the first square bracket has an "@" before it. If it does, then that square bracket is not the start of a attribute specifier because it is an Objective-C array literal. (The assumption is that @[[.*]] is not valid C/C++.)

Sam McCall 9c0391b36a [JSONCompilationDatabase] Strip distcc/ccache/gomacc wrappers from parsed commands.
Summary:
It's common to use compiler wrappers by setting CC="gomacc clang++".
This results in both args appearing in compile_commands.json, and clang's driver
can't handle this.

This patch attempts to recognize this pattern (by looking for well-known
wrappers) and dropping argv0 in this case.

It conservatively ignores other cases for now:
 - wrappers with unknown names
 - wrappers that accept -flags
 - wrappers where the compiler to use is implied (usually cc or gcc)

This is done at the JSONCompilationDatabase level rather than somewhere more
fundamental, as (hopefully) this isn't a general conceptual problem, but a messy
aspect of the nature of the ecosystem around compile_commands.json.
i.e. compilation databases more tightly tied to the build system should not have
this problem.

This moves Bitcode/Bitstream*, Bitcode/BitCodes.h to Bitstream/.

This is needed to avoid a circular dependency when using the bitstream

Since Bitcode uses Core for the IR part:

libLLVMRemarks -> Bitcode -> Core

and Core uses libLLVMRemarks to generate remarks (see
IR/RemarkStreamer.cpp):

Core -> libLLVMRemarks

we need to separate the Bitstream and Bitcode part.

For clang-doc, it seems that it doesn't need the whole bitcode layer, so
I updated the CMake to only use the bitstream part.

Sam McCall 04ee232ff2 clang-format: Add new style option AlignConsecutiveMacros
This option behaves similarly to AlignConsecutiveDeclarations and
AlignConsecutiveAssignments, aligning the assignment of C/C++
preprocessor macros on consecutive lines.

I've worked in many projects (embedded, mostly) where header files full
of large, well-aligned "#define" blocks are a common pattern. We
normally avoid using clang-format on these files, since it ruins any
existing alignment in said blocks. This style option will align "simple"
PP macros (no parameters) and PP macros with parameter lists on
consecutive lines.

Artem Dergachev f301096f51 [analyzer] NFC: CallDescription: Implement describing C library functions.
When matching C standard library functions in the checker, it's easy to forget
that they are often implemented as macros that are expanded to builtins.

Such builtins would have a different name, so matching the callee identifier
would fail, or may sometimes have more arguments than expected, so matching
the exact number of arguments would fail, but this is fine as long as we have
all the arguments that we need in their respective places.

This patch adds a set of flags to the CallDescription class so that to handle
various special matching rules, and adds the first flag into this set,
which enables a more fuzzy matching for functions that
may be implemented as compiler builtins.

Gabor Marton 2afbfb6b22 [ASTImporter] Mark erroneous nodes in shared st
Summary:
Now we store the errors for the Decls in the "to" context too. For
that, however, we have to put these errors in a shared state (among all
the ASTImporter objects which handle the same "to" context but different
"from" contexts).

After a series of imports from different "from" TUs we have a "to" context
which may have erroneous nodes in it. (Remember, the AST is immutable so
there is no way to delete a node once we had created it and we realized
the error later.) All these erroneous nodes are marked in
ASTImporterSharedState::ImportErrors. Clients of the ASTImporter may
use this as an input. E.g. the static analyzer engine may not try to
analyze a function if that is marked as erroneous (it can be queried via
ASTImporterSharedState::getImportDeclErrorIfAny()).

Gabor Marton 1ad4b99d94 [ASTImporter] Mark erroneous nodes in from ctx
Summary:
During import of a specific Decl D, it may happen that some AST nodes
had already been created before we recognize an error. In this case we
signal back the error to the caller, but the "to" context remains
polluted with those nodes which had been created. Ideally, those nodes
should not had been created, but that time we did not know about the
error, the error happened later. Since the AST is immutable (most of
the cases we can't remove existing nodes) we choose to mark these nodes
as erroneous.
Here are the steps of the algorithm:
1) We keep track of the nodes which we visit during the import of D: See
ImportPathTy.
2) If a Decl is already imported and it is already on the import path
(we have a cycle) then we copy/store the relevant part of the import
path. We store these cycles for each Decl.
3) When we recognize an error during the import of D then we set up this
error to all Decls in the stored cycles for D and we clear the stored
cycles.

Gabor Marton 303c9861e9 [ASTImporter] Store import errors for Decls
Summary:
We add a new member which is a mapping from the already-imported
declarations in the "from" context to the error status of the import of
that declaration. This map contains only the declarations that were not
correctly imported. The same declaration may or may not be included in
ImportedDecls. This map is updated continuously during imports and never
cleared (like ImportedDecls). In Import(Decl*) we use this mapping, so
if there was a previous failed import we return with the existing error.

We add/remove from the Lookuptable in consistency with ImportedFromDecls.
When we map a decl in the 'to' context to something in the 'from'
context then and only then we add it to the lookup table. When we
remove a mapping then and only then we remove it from the lookup table.

This patch is the first in a series of patches whose aim is to further
strengthen the error handling in ASTImporter.

Gabor Marton dd2b76e13e [ASTImporter] Fix unhandled cases in ASTImporterLookupTable
Summary:
In most cases the FriendDecl contains the declaration of the befriended

then can we add it to the lookup table.

cannot and do not use the ASTImporterLookupTable in LLDB.)

Summary:
Other macros are used to declare namespaces, and should thus be handled
similarly. This is the case for crpcut's TESTSUITE macro, or for
unittest-cpp's SUITE macro:

      TESTSUITE(Foo) {
      TEST(MyFirstTest) {
        assert(0);
      }
      } // TESTSUITE(Foo)

This patch deals with this cases by introducing a new option to specify
lists of namespace macros. Internally, it re-uses the system already in
place for foreach and statement macros, to ensure there is no impact on
performance.

Alex Lorenz 6e2d36b60b Add clang source minimizer that reduces source to directives
that might affect the dependency list for a compilation

This commit introduces a dependency directives source minimizer to clang
that minimizes header and source files to the minimum necessary preprocessor
directives for evaluating includes. It reduces the source down to #define, #include,

The source minimizer works by lexing the input with a custom fast lexer that recognizes
the preprocessor directives it cares about, and emitting those directives in the minimized source.
It ignores source code, comments, and normalizes whitespace. It gives up and fails if seems
any directives that it doesn't recognize as valid (e.g. #define 0).

In addition to the source minimizer this patch adds a
-print-dependency-directives-minimized-source CC1 option that allows you to invoke the minimizer
from clang directly.

Since D57922, the config table contains every checker option, and it's default

By the time any of the getChecker*Option function is called, we verified the
value in CheckerRegistry (after D57860), so we can confidently assert here, as
any irregularities detected at this point must be a programmer error. However,
in compatibility mode, verification won't happen, so the default value must be
restored.

This implies something else, other than adding removing one more potential point
of failure -- debug.ConfigDumper will always contain valid values for

Nicolas Lesser 5fe2ddbdf4 [clang] adding explicit(bool) from c++2a
this patch adds support for the explicit bool specifier.

Changes:
- The parsing for the explicit(bool) specifier was added in ParseDecl.cpp.
- The storage of the explicit specifier was changed. the explicit specifier was stored as a boolean value in the FunctionDeclBitfields and in the DeclSpec class. now it is stored as a PointerIntPair<Expr*, 2> with a flag and a potential expression in CXXConstructorDecl, CXXDeductionGuideDecl, CXXConversionDecl and in the DeclSpec class.
- Following the AST change, Serialization, ASTMatchers, ASTComparator and ASTPrinter were adapted.
- Template instantiation was adapted to instantiate the potential expressions of the explicit(bool) specifier When instantiating their associated declaration.
- The Add*Candidate functions were adapted, they now take a Boolean indicating if the context allowing explicit constructor or conversion function and this boolean is used to remove invalid overloads that required template instantiation to be detected.
- Test for Semantic and Serialization were added.

This patch is not yet complete. I still need to check that interaction with CTAD and deduction guides is correct. and add more tests for AST operations. But I wanted first feedback.
Perhaps this patch should be spited in smaller patches, but making each patch testable as a standalone may be tricky.

Correspondingly, updates Transformer's handling of failures in TextGenerators
and the signature of `ChangeConsumer`.

Artem Dergachev ab7747b727 [analyzer] Treat functions without run-time branches as "small".
Currently we always inline functions that have no branches, i.e. have exactly
three CFG blocks: ENTRY, some code, EXIT. This makes sense because when there
are no branches, it means that there's no exponential complexity introduced
by inlining such function. Such functions also don't trigger various fundamental
problems with our inlining mechanism, such as the problem of inlined
defensive checks.

Sometimes the CFG may contain more blocks, but in practice it still has
linear structure because all directions (except, at most, one) of all branches
turned out to be unreachable. When this happens, still treat the function
as "small". This is useful, in particular, for dealing with C++17 if constexpr.

Raphael Isemann e9bc35fe06 [ASTImporter] Add an ImportImpl method to allow customizing Import behavior.
Summary:
We are currently implementing support in LLDB that reconstructs the STL templates from
the target program in the expression evaluator. This reconstruction happens during the
import process from our debug info AST into the expression evaluation AST, which means
we need a way to intercept the ASTImporter import process.

This patch adds an protected ImportImpl method that we can overwrite in LLDB to implement
our special importing logic (which is essentially just looking into a C++ module that is attached to
the target context). Because ImportImpl has to call MapImported/AddToLookup for the decls it
creates, this patch also exposes those via a new unified method and checks that we call it when
importing decls.

Artem Dergachev 9b02a9b401 [analyzer] Make default bindings to variables actually work.
Default RegionStore bindings represent values that can be obtained by loading
from anywhere within the region, not just the specific offset within the region
that they are said to be bound to. For example, default-binding a character \0
to an int (eg., via memset()) means that the whole int is 0, not just
that its lower byte is 0.

Even though memset and bzero were modeled this way, it didn't work correctly
when applied to simple variables. Eg., in

  int x;
  memset(x, 0, sizeof(x));

we did produce a default binding, but were unable to read it later, and 'x'
was perceived as an uninitialized variable even after memset.

At the same time, if we replace 'x' with a variable of a structure or array
type, accessing fields or elements of such variable was working correctly,
which was enough for most cases. So this was only a problem for variables of
simple integer/enumeration/floating-point/pointer types.

Fix loading default bindings from RegionStore for regions of simple variables.

Add a unit test to document the API contract as well.

Krasimir Georgiev bda8482aba [clang-format] Fix indent of trailing raw string param after newline
Summary:
Currently clang-format uses ContinuationIndent to indent the contents of a raw
string literal that is the last parameter of the function call. This is to
achieve formatting similar to trailing:
```
f(1, 2, R"pb(
    x: y)pb");
```
However this had the unfortunate consequence of producing format like this:
```
fffffff(1, 2,
        R"pb(
    a: b
        )pb");
```

This patch makes clang-format consider indenting a trailing raw string param
after a newline based off the start of the format delimiter, producing:
```
fffffff(1, 2,
        R"pb(
          a: b
        )pb");
Haojian Wu f2879d8a48 [clang-tidy] Add fix descriptions to clang-tidy checks.
Summary:
Motivation/Context: in the code review system integrating with clang-tidy,
clang-tidy doesn't provide a human-readable description of the fix. Usually
developers have to preview a code diff (before vs after apply the fix) to
understand what the fix does before applying a fix.
This patch proposes that each clang-tidy check provides a short and
actional fix description that can be shown in the UI, so that users can know
what the fix does without previewing diff.
This patch extends clang-tidy framework to support fix descriptions (will add implementations for
existing checks in the future). Fix descriptions and fixes are emitted via diagnostic::Note (rather than
attaching the main warning diagnostic).
Before this patch:
```
void MyCheck::check(...) {
   ...
   diag(loc, "my check warning") <<  FixtItHint::CreateReplacement(...);
}
```
After:
```
void MyCheck::check(...) {

   diag(loc, "fix description", DiagnosticIDs::Note) << FixtItHint::CreateReplacement(...); // Emit a diagnostic note and a fix

The only user of this function was the plist file emitter (in Static Analyzer

completely incorrect behavior and causes no functional change,

Sam McCall 36913e3f8f [Tooling] add a Heuristic field indicating that a CompileCommand was guessed.
Summary:
Use cases:
 - a tool that dumps the heuristic used for each header in a project can
   be used to evaluate changes to the heuristic
 - we want to expose this information to users in clangd as it affects
   accuracy/reliability of editor features
 - express interpolation tests more directly

Yitzhak Mandelbaum 84f2271acd [LibTooling] Add "SourceCode" library for functions relating to source-code manipulation.
Summary:
Introduces a utility library in Refactoring/ to collect routines related to
source-code manipulation. In this change, we move "extended-range" functions
from the FixIt library (in clangTooling) to this new library.

We need to use this functionality in Refactoring/ and cannot access it if it
resides in Tooling/, because that would cause clangToolingRefactor to depend on
clangTooling, which would be a circular dependency.
