Allow instructions such as 'cmp w0, #(end - start)' by folding the
expression into a constant. For ELF, we fold only if the symbols are in
the same section. For MachO, we fold if the expression contains only
symbols that are not linker visible.

Summary: AArch64 LLVM assembler emits add instruction without shift bit to calculate the higher 12-bit address of TLS variables in local exec model. This generates wrong code sequence to access TLS variables with thread offset larger than 0x1000.

Whenever an add/sub immediate needs a fixup, we set that immediate field to zero,
which is correct, but we also set the shift bits to zero, which is not true for
instructions that use lsl #12. This patch makes sure that if lsl #12 was used,
it will appear in the encoding of the instruction.

Recommitting after fixing AsmParser initialization and X86 inline asm
error cleanup.
Allow errors to be deferred and emitted as part of clean up to simplify
and shorten Assembly parser code. This will allow error messages to be
emitted in helper functions and be modified by the caller which has
better context.
As part of this many minor cleanups to the Parser:
* Unify parser cleanup on error
* Add Workaround for incorrect return values in ParseDirective instances
* Tighten checks on error-signifying return values for parser functions
and fix in-tree TargetParsers to be more consistent with the changes.
* Fix AArch64 test cases checking for spurious error messages that are
now fixed.
These changes should be backwards compatible with current Target Parsers
so long as the error status are correctly returned in appropriate
functions.

Fix the .arch asm parser to use the full set of features for the architecture

as well as add an extension that was used but not supported.
llvm-svn: 280971
The way the named arguments for various system instructions are handled at the
moment has a few problems:
- Large-scale duplication between AArch64BaseInfo.h and AArch64BaseInfo.cpp
- That weird Mapping class that I have no idea what I was on when I thought
it was a good idea.
- Searches are performed linearly through the entire list.
- We print absolutely all registers in upper-case, even though some are
canonically mixed case (SPSel for example).
- The ARM ARM specifies sysregs in terms of 5 fields, but those are relegated
to comments in our implementation, with a slightly opaque hex value
indicating the canonical encoding LLVM will use.
This adds a new TableGen backend to produce efficiently searchable tables, and
switches AArch64 over to using that infrastructure.
llvm-svn: 274576
The -mattr options in these four tests have no effect on the output of
llvm-objdump. In the case of the two Mips tests, removing the -mattr option
left duplicate RUN lines so the duplicates have been removed.
llvm-svn: 272906
The backend has been around for years, it's pretty ridiculous that we can't
even use the preferred form for printing "MOV" aliases. Unfortunately, TableGen
can't handle the complex predicates when printing so it's a bunch of nasty C++.
Oh well.

Most immediates are printed in Aarch64InstPrinter using 'formatImm' macro,
but not all of them.
Implementation contains following rules:
- floating point immediates are always printed as decimal
- signed integer immediates are printed depends on flag settings
(for negative values 'formatImm' macro prints the value as i.e -0x01
which may be convenient when imm is an address or offset)
- logical immediates are always printed as hex
- the 64-bit immediate for advSIMD, encoded in "a🅱️c:d:e:f:g:h" is always printed as hex
- the 64-bit immedaite in exception generation instructions like:
brk, dcps1, dcps2, dcps3, hlt, hvc, smc, svc is always printed as hex
- the rest of immediates is printed depends on availability
of -print-imm-hex

Before, ELF at least managed a diagnostic but it was a completely untraceable
"undefined symbol" error. MachO had a variety of even worse behaviours: crash,
emit corrupt file, or an equally bad message.
llvm-svn: 265984
Add support for the AArch64 .cpu directive. This is a slightly involved
directive since the parameter is actually a variable encoded string. The
general structure is:
<cpu>[[+-]<feature>]*
We now map some of the supported string names for features for internal
representation of feature flags. If we encounter one which we do not support,
bail out as we cannot validate the assembly any longer.

When a symbol S shows up in an expression in assembly there are two
possible interpretations
* The expression is referring to the value of S in this file.
* The expression is referring to the value after symbol resolution.
In the first case the assembler can reason about the value and try to
produce a relocation.
In the second case, that is only possible if the symbol cannot be
preempted.
Assemblers are not very consistent about which interpretation gets used.
This changes MC to agree with GAS in the case of an expression of the
form "Sym - WeakSym".
llvm-svn: 258329
The AArch64 .inst directive was implemented using EmitIntValue, which resulted
in both $x and $d (code and data) mapping symbols being emitted at the same
address. This fixes it to only emit the $x mapping symbol.
EmitIntValue also emits the value in big-endian order when targeting big-endian
systems, but instructions are always emitted in little-endian order for
AArch64.

ARMv8.2-A adds 16-bit floating point versions of all existing SIMD
floating-point instructions. This is an optional extension, so all of
these instructions require the FeatureFullFP16 subtarget feature.
Note that VFP without SIMD is not a valid combination for any version of
ARMv8-A, but I have ensured that these instructions all depend on both
FeatureNEON and FeatureFullFP16 for consistency.
The ".2h" vector type specifier is now legal (for the scalar pairwise
reduction instructions), so some unrelated tests have been modified as
different error messages are emitted. This is not a problem as the
invalid operands are still caught.
llvm-svn: 255010
The Statistical Profiling Extension is an optional extension to
ARMv8.2-A. Since it is an optional extension, I have added the
FeatureSPE subtarget feature to control it. The assembler-visible parts
of this extension are the new "psb csync" instruction, which is
equivalent to "hint #17", and a number of system registers.

ARMv8.2-A adds 16-bit floating point versions of all existing VFP
floating-point instructions. This is an optional extension, so all of
these instructions require the FeatureFullFP16 subtarget feature.
Most of these instructions are the same as the 32- and 64-bit versions,
but with the type field (bits 23-22) set to 0b11. Previously the top bit
of the size field was always 0, so the instruction classes only provided
a 1-bit size field, which I have widened to 2 bits.

Currently, if the assembler encounters an error after parsing (such as an
out-of-range fixup), it reports this as a fatal error, and so stops after the
first error. However, for most of these there is an obvious way to recover
after emitting the error, such as emitting the fixup with a value of zero. This
means that we can report on all of the errors in a file, not just the first
one. MCContext::reportError records the fact that an error was encountered, so
we won't actually emit an object file with the incorrect contents.

The MCValue class can store a SMLoc to allow better error messages to be

The AArch64 assembler was silently ignoring instructions like this:

AArch64AsmParser::parseOperand was returning true as the parse failed, but was

instruction was ignored without printing an error message.

* Gold and bfd ld seems to ignore EI_OSABI other than for freebsd.

Since r244955, we try to use the short-form ErrorInfo when both
tries failed, and the long-form match failed on a suffix operand.
However, this means we sometimes mix ErrorInfo and MatchResult
(one manifestation of this being PR24498). Instead, restore both.
llvm-svn: 245469
We used to just say "invalid type suffix for instruction", which is
misleading. This is because we fallback to the long-form matcher if the
short-form matcher failed, losing the error information on the way.
Save it, so that we can provide a little better diagnostics when the
long-form matcher thinks a suffix is the cause of the error.
