Spent some time trying to reproduce this locally, reverting in a
desparate attempt to fix the sanitizer buildbot:

I don't know exactly why or how this patch breaks the bots, but it seems
pretty concrete that it's the culprit.
This drops a GNU gold workaround and reverts the revert commit rL366708.
Before binutils 2.34, gold -O2 and above did not correctly handle R_386_GOTOFF to

... it reduced the size of a big ARM-32 debug image by 33%. It contained ~68M
of relocations symbols out of total ~71M symbols (96% of symbols table was
generated for relocations with symbol).
-Wl,-O2 (and -Wl,-O3) is so rare that we should just lower the
optimization level for LLVM_LINKER_IS_GOLD rather than pessimizing all users.
For `.reloc offset, *, *`, currently offset can be a constant or symbol.
This patch makes it support any expression which can be folded to sym+constant.

MIPS 64-bit ABI does not provide special PC-relative relocation like
R_MIPS_PC32 in 32-bit case. But we can use a "chain of relocation"
defined by N64 ABIs. In that case one relocation record might contain up
to three relocations which applied sequentially. Width of a final relocation
mask applied to the result of relocation depends on the last relocation
in the chain. In case of 64-bit PC-relative relocation we need the following
chain: `R_MIPS_PC32 | R_MIPS_64`. The first relocation calculates an
offset, but does not truncate the result. The second relocation just
apply calculated result as a 64-bit value.
The 64-bit PC-relative relocation might be useful in generation of
`.eh_frame` sections to escape passing `-Wl,-z,notext` flags to linker.

1. It's redundant to explicitly check that string does not contain `PAUSE_MM`
token if check that the `PAUSE` token is followed by an angle bracket.
2. The removed `CHECK-NOT` directives do not have trailing colons.
This directive inserts code to add $gp to the argument's register when
support for position independent code is enabled.
For example, this code:

Summary:
Dollar signed prefixed integers were not allowed by the AsmParser to be
used as Identifiers, differing from the GNU assembler behavior.
This patch updates the parsing of Identifiers to consider such cases as
valid, where the identifier string includes the $ prefix itself. As the
Lexer currently splits these occurrences into separate tokens, those
need to be combined by the AsmParser itself.

The new behavior matches GNU objdump. A pair of angle brackets makes tests slightly easier.
`.foo:` is not unique and thus cannot be used in a `CHECK-LABEL:` directive.
Without `-LABEL`, the CHECK line can match the `Disassembly of section`
line and causes the next `CHECK-NEXT:` to fail.

While the value of the CIE pointer field in a DWARF FDE record is
an offset to the corresponding CIE record from the beginning of
the section, for EH FDE records it is relative to the current offset.
Previously, we did not make that distinction when dumped both kinds
of FDE records and just printed the same value for the CIE pointer
field and the CIE offset; that was acceptable for DWARF FDEs but was
wrong for EH FDEs.
This patch fixes the issue by explicitly printing the offset of the
linked CIE object.

Previously, since bots turning on EXPENSIVE_CHECKS are essentially turning on
MachineVerifierPass by default on X86 and the fact that
inline-asm-avx-v-constraint-32bit.ll and inline-asm-avx512vl-v-constraint-32bit.ll
are not expected to generate functioning machine code, this would go
down to `report_fatal_error` in MachineVerifierPass. Here passing
`-verify-machineinstrs=0` to make the intent explicit.

On bots llvm-clang-x86_64-expensive-checks-ubuntu and
llvm-clang-x86_64-expensive-checks-debian only,
llc returns 0 for these two tests unexpectedly. I tweaked the RUN line a little
bit in the hope that LIT is the culprit since this change is not in the
codepath these tests are testing.

We do not keep the actual value of the CIE ID field, because it is
predefined, and use a constant when dumping a CIE record. The issue
was that the predefined value is different for .debug_frame and
.eh_frame sections, but we always printed the one which corresponds
to .debug_frame. The patch fixes that by choosing an appropriate
constant to print.

There are issues to be investigated for polly bots and bots turning on
EXPENSIVE_CHECKS.
Summary:
This patch could be treated as a rebase of D33960. It also fixes PR35547.
A fix for `llvm/test/Other/close-stderr.ll` is proposed in D68164. Seems
the consensus is that the test is passing by chance and I'm not
sure how important it is for us. So it is removed like in D33960 for now.
The rest of the test fixes are just adding `--crash` flag to `not` tool.
** The reason it fixes PR35547 is
`exit` does cleanup including calling class destructor whereas `abort`
does not do any cleanup. In multithreading environment such as ThinLTO or JIT,
threads may share states which mostly are ManagedStatic<>. If faulting thread
tearing down a class when another thread is using it, there are chances of
memory corruption. This is bad 1. It will stop error reporting like pretty
stack printer; 2. The memory corruption is distracting and nondeterministic in
terms of error message, and corruption type (depending one the timing, it
could be double free, heap free after use, etc.).

When compiling position-independent executables, we now use
DW_EH_PE_pcrel | DW_EH_PE_sdata4. However, the MIPS ABI does not define a
64-bit PC-relative ELF relocation so we cannot use sdata8 for the large
code model case. When using the large code model, we fall back to the
previous behaviour of generating absolute relocations.
With this change clang-generated .o files can be linked by LLD without
having to pass -Wl,-z,notext (which creates text relocations).
This is simpler than the approach used by ld.bfd, which rewrites the
.eh_frame section to convert absolute relocations into relative references.
I saw in D13104 that apparently ld.bfd did not accept pc-relative relocations
for MIPS ouput at some point. However, I also checked that recent ld.bfd
can process the clang-generated .o files so this no longer seems true.

There are a couple of bugs with the sc, scs, ll, lld instructions expanding:
1. On R6 these instruction pack immediate offset into a 9-bit field. Now
if an immediate exceeds 9-bits assembler does not perform expansion and
just rejects such instruction.
2. On 64-bit non-PIC code if an operand is a symbol assembler generates
incorrect sequence of instructions. It uses R_MIPS_HI16 and R_MIPS_LO16
relocations and skips R_MIPS_HIGHEST and R_MIPS_HIGHER ones.
To solve these problems this patch:
- Introduces `mem_simm9_exp` to mark 9-bit memory immediate operands
which require expansion. Probably later all `mem_simm9` operands will be
able to migrate on `mem_simm9_exp` and we rename it to `mem_simm9`.
- Adds new `OPERAND_MEM_SIMM9` operand type and assigns it to the
`mem_simm9_exp`. That allows to know operand size in the `processInstruction`
method and decide whether we need to expand instruction.
- Adds `expandMem9Inst` method to expand instructions with 9-bit memory
immediate operand. This method just load immediate into a "base"
register used by origibal instruction:

- Fix `expandMem16Inst` to support a correct set of relocations for
symbol loading in case of 64-bit non-PIC code.

O32 ABI uses relocations in REL format. Relocation's addend is written
in place. R_MIPS_JALR relocation points to the `jalr` instruction which
does not have a place to store the relocation addend. So it's impossible
to save non-zero "offset". This patch blocks emission of `R_MIPS_JALR`
relocations in such cases.

`saa` and `saad` are 32-bit and 64-bit store atomic add instructions.
memory[base] = memory[base] + rt
These instructions are available for "Octeon+" CPU. The patch adds support
for both instructions to MIPS assembler and diassembler and introduces new
CPU type - "octeon+".
Next patches will implement `.set arch=octeon+` directive and `AFL_EXT_OCTEONP`
ISA extension flag support.

MipsMCAsmInfo was using '$' prefix for Mips32 and '.L' for Mips64
regardless of -target-abi option. By passing MCTargetOptions to MCAsmInfo
we can find out Mips ABI and pick appropriate prefix.
