serge-sans-paille ac1d23ed7d Replace MCTargetOptionsCommandFlags.inc and CommandFlags.inc by runtime registration
MCTargetOptionsCommandFlags.inc and CommandFlags.inc are headers which contain
cl::opt with static storage.
These headers are meant to be incuded by tools to make it easier to parametrize
codegen/mc.

However, these headers are also included in at least two libraries: lldCommon
and handle-llvm. As a result, when creating DYLIB, clang-cpp holds a reference
to the options, and lldCommon holds another reference. Linking the two in a
single executable, as zig does[0], results in a double registration.

This patch explores an other approach: the .inc files are moved to regular
files, and the registration happens on-demand through static declaration of
options in the constructor of a static object.

Matt Arsenault 19a0350187 GlobalISel: Fix round lowering
I used the implementation for floor instead of round. It also turns
out the OpenCL builtin library wasn't using the round builtin, but
implemented the expanded form.

Tyker 2543567c41 [AssumeBundles] filter usefull attriutes to preserve
Summary:
This patch will filter attributes to only preserve those that are usefull.
In the case of NoAlias it is filtered out not because it isn't usefull
but because it is incorrect to preserve it as it is only valdi for the
duration of the function.

Huihui Zhang 118abf2017 [SVE] Update API ConstantVector::getSplat() to use ElementCount.
Summary:
Support ConstantInt::get() and Constant::getAllOnesValue() for scalable
vector type, this requires ConstantVector::getSplat() to take in 'ElementCount',
instead of 'unsigned' number of element count.

This change is needed for D73753.

Adrian Prantl d5180ea134 Add debug info support for Swift/Clang APINotes.
In order for dsymutil to collect .apinotes files (which capture
attributes such as nullability, Swift import names, and availability),
I want to propose adding an apinotes: field to DIModule that gets
translated into a DW_AT_LLVM_apinotes (path) nested inside
DW_TAG_module. This will be primarily used by LLDB to indirectly
extract the Swift names of Clang declarations that were deserialized
from DWARF.

Adrian Prantl e4e7e44765 Add an SDK attribute to DICompileUnit
This is part of PR44213 https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44213

When importing (system) Clang modules, LLDB needs to know which SDK
(e.g., MacOSX, iPhoneSimulator, ...) they came from. While the sysroot
attribute contains the absolute path to the SDK, this doesn't work
well when the debugger is run on a different machine than the
compiler, and the SDKs are installed in different directories. It thus
makes sense to just store the name of the SDK instead of the absolute
path, so it can be found relative to LLDB.

Serge Pavlov 14a1b80e04 Make IEEEFloat::roundToIntegral more standard conformant

James Henderson 684d6fdee2 [DebugInfo] Add check for .debug_line minimum_instruction_length of 0
If the minimum_instruction_length of a debug line program is 0, no
address advancing via special opcodes, DW_LNS_const_add_pc, and
DW_LNS_advance_pc can occur, since the minimum_instruction_length is
used in a multiplication. This patch adds a warning reporting when this
issue occurs.

James Henderson 6e0c9e4696 [DebugInfo] Prevent crash when .debug_line line_range is zero
The line_range value of a debug line program header is used in divisions
related to special opcodes and DW_LNS_const_add_pc opcodes. As such, a
value of 0 cannot be used. This change introduces a new warning, if such
a situation is identified, and does not perform the relevant
calculations.

James Henderson 8732192bba [DebugInfo] Report unsupported maximum_operations_per_instruction values
This patch adds a check which reports an unsupported value of the
maximum_operations_per_instruction field in a debug line table header.
This is reported once per line table, at most, and only if the tablet
would otherwise need to use it (i.e. never for tables with version 3 or
less, or for tables which don't use DW_LNS_const_add_pc or special
opcodes). Unsupported values are currently any apart from 1.

Florian Hahn 40e7bfc424 [VPlan] Use consecutive numbers to print VPValues instead of addresses.
Currently when printing VPValues we use the object address, which makes
it hard to distinguish VPValues as they usually are large numbers with
varying distance between them.

This patch adds a simple slot tracker, similar to the ModuleSlotTracker
used for IR values. In order to dump a VPValue or anything containing a
VPValue, a slot tracker for the enclosing VPlan needs to be created. The
existing VPlanPrinter can take care of that for the existing code. We
assign consecutive numbers to each VPValue we encounter in a reverse
post order traversal of the VPlan.

Whitney Tsang c84532a70a [LoopNest]: Analysis to discover properties of a loop nest.
Summary: This patch adds an analysis pass to collect loop nests and
summarize properties of the nest (e.g the nest depth, whether the nest
is perfect, what's the innermost loop, etc...).

The motivation for this patch was discussed at the latest meeting of the
LLVM loop group (https://ibm.box.com/v/llvm-loop-nest-analysis) where we
discussed
the unimodular loop transformation framework ( “A Loop Transformation
Theory and an Algorithm to Maximize Parallelism”, Michael E. Wolf and
Monica S. Lam, IEEE TPDS, October 1991). The unimodular framework
provides a convenient way to unify legality checking and code generation
for several loop nest transformations (e.g. loop reversal, loop
interchange, loop skewing) and their compositions. Given that the
unimodular framework is applicable to perfect loop nests this is one
property of interest we expose in this analysis. Several other utility
functions are also provided. In the future other properties of interest
can be added in a centralized place.

Tyker 876d133789 [AssumeBundles] Add API to fill a map from operand bundles of an llvm.assume.
Summary: This patch adds a new way to query operand bundles of an llvm.assume that is much better suited to some users like the Attributor that need to do many queries on the operand bundles of llvm.assume. Some modifications of the IR like replaceAllUsesWith can cause information in the map to be outdated, so this API is more suited to analysis passes and passes that don't make modification that could invalidate the map.

Florian Hahn 05afa55521 [VPlan] Add getPlan() to VPBlockBase.
This patch adds a getPlan accessor to VPBlockBase, which finds the entry
block of the plan containing the block and returns the plan set for this
block.

VPBlockBase contains a VPlan pointer, but it should only be set for
the entry block of a plan. This allows moving blocks without updating
the pointer for each moved block and in the future we might introduce a
parent relationship between plans and blocks, similar to the one in LLVM IR.

serge-sans-paille 1454c27b60 Syndicate, test and fix base64 implementation
llvm/Support/Base64, fix its implementation and provide a decent test suite.

Previous implementation code was using + operator instead of | to combine

results, which is a problem when shifting signed values. (0xFF << 16) is
implicitly converted to a (signed) int, and thus results in 0xffff0000,
h is
negative. Combining negative numbers with a + in that context is not what we
want to do.

This is a recommit of 5a1958f267 with UB removved.

This fixes https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/issues/149.

This changed the output of llvm-config --system-libs, and more
importantly it broke stand-alone builds. Instead of piling on more fix
attempts, let's revert this to reduce the risk of more breakages.

David Green d0d38df091 [LoopVectorizer] Change types of lists from pointers to references. NFC
getReductionVars, getInductionVars and getFirstOrderRecurrences were all
being returned from LoopVectorizationLegality as pointers to lists. This
just changes them to be references, cleaning up the interface slightly.

serge-sans-paille 5a1958f267 Syndicate, test and fix base64 implementation
Move Base64 implementation from clangd/SemanticHighlighting to
llvm/Support/Base64, fix its implementation and provide a decent test suite.

Previous implementation code was using + operator instead of | to combine some
results, which is a problem when shifting signed values. (0xFF << 16) is
implicitly converted to a (signed) int, and thus results in 0xffff0000, which is
negative. Combining negative numbers with a + in that context is not what we
want to do.

This fixes https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/issues/149.

Reid Kleckner af450eabb9 Avoid including FileSystem.h from MemoryBuffer.h
Lots of headers pass around MemoryBuffer objects, but very few open
them. Let those that do include FileSystem.h.

Saves ~250 includes of Chrono.h & FileSystem.h:

Vedant Kumar dd1ea9de2e Reland: [Coverage] Revise format to reduce binary size
Try again with an up-to-date version of D69471 (99317124 was a stale
revision).

Revise the coverage mapping format to reduce binary size by:

1. Naming function records and marking them `linkonce_odr`, and
2. Compressing filenames.

This shrinks the size of llc's coverage segment by 82% (334MB -> 62MB)
and speeds up end-to-end single-threaded report generation by 10%. For
reference the compressed name data in llc is 81MB (__llvm_prf_names).

Rationale for changes to the format:

- With the current format, most coverage function records are discarded.
  E.g., more than 97% of the records in llc are *duplicate* placeholders
  for functions visible-but-not-used in TUs. Placeholders *are* used to
  show under-covered functions, but duplicate placeholders waste space.

- We reached general consensus about giving (1) a try at the 2017 code
  coverage BoF [1]. The thinking was that using `linkonce_odr` to merge
  duplicates is simpler than alternatives like teaching build systems
  about a coverage-aware database/module/etc on the side.

- Revising the format is expensive due to the backwards compatibility
  requirement, so we might as well compress filenames while we're at it.
  This shrinks the encoded filenames in llc by 86% (12MB -> 1.6MB).

changed.

Reid Kleckner 53f51da09e [ADT] Allow K to be incomplete during DenseMap<K*, V> instantiation
DenseMap requires two sentinel values for keys: empty and tombstone
values. To avoid undefined behavior, LLVM aligns the two sentinel
pointers to alignof(T). This requires T to be complete, which is
needlessly restrictive.

Instead, assume that DenseMap pointer keys have a maximum alignment of
4096, and use the same sentinel values for all pointer keys. The new
sentinels are:
  empty:     static_cast<uintptr_t>(-1) << 12
  tombstone: static_cast<uintptr_t>(-2) << 12

These correspond to the addresses of -4096 and -8192. Hopefully, such a
key is never inserted into a DenseMap.

I encountered this while looking at making clang's SourceManager not
require FileManager.h, but it has several maps keyed on classes defined
in FileManager.h. FileManager depends on various LLVM FS headers, which
cumulatively take ~200ms to parse, and are generally not needed.

Jeremy Morse 6af859dcca [DebugInfo] Re-implement LexicalScopes dominance method, add unit tests
Way back in D24994, the combination of LexicalScopes::dominates and
LiveDebugValues was identified as having worst-case quadratic complexity,
but it wasn't triggered by any code path at the time. I've since run into a
scenario where this occurs, in a very large basic block where large numbers
of inlined DBG_VALUEs are present.

The quadratic-ness comes from LiveDebugValues::join calling "dominates" on
every variable location, and LexicalScopes::dominates potentially touching
every instruction in a block to test for the presence of a scope. We have,
however, already computed the presence of scopes in blocks, in the
"InstrRanges" of each scope. This patch switches the dominates method to
examine whether a block is present in a scope's InsnRanges, avoiding
walking through the whole block.

At the same time, fix getMachineBasicBlocks to account for the fact that
InsnRanges can cover multiple blocks, and add some unit tests, as Lexical
Scopes didn't have any.

the callers use it directly.  Use the MathExtras.h name (ByteSwap_NN) as

Vedant Kumar b0142cd986 [ADT] Add CoalescingBitVector, implemented using IntervalMap [1/3]
Add CoalescingBitVector to ADT. This is part 1 of a 3-part series to
address a compile-time explosion issue in LiveDebugValues.

CoalescingBitVector is a bitvector that, under the hood, relies on an
IntervalMap to coalesce elements into intervals.

CoalescingBitVector efficiently represents sets which predominantly
contain contiguous ranges (e.g.  the VarLocSets in LiveDebugValues,
which are very long sequences that look like {1, 2, 3, ...}). OTOH,
CoalescingBitVector isn't good at representing sets with lots of gaps
between elements. The first N coalesced intervals of set bits are stored
in-place (in the initial heap allocation).

Compared to SparseBitVector, CoalescingBitVector offers more predictable
performance for non-sequential find() operations. This provides a
crucial speedup in LiveDebugValues.

Alexey Lapshin f943443e65 [Debuginfo][NFC] Unify error reporting routines inside DebugInfoDWARF.
Summary:
Error reporting in DebugInfoDWARF library currently done in three ways :

1. Direct calls to WithColor::error()/WithColor::warning()
2. ErrorPolicy defaultErrorHandler(Error E);
3. void dumpWarning(Error Warning);

additionally, other locations could have more variations:

reporting functions. This patch creates two handlers and allows to
redefine them. It also patches all places inside DebugInfoDWARF
to use these handlers.

The intention is always to use following handlers for error reporting
purposes inside DebugInfoDWARF:

DebugInfo/DWARF/DWARFContext.h

Pavel Labath 3c36d8dad5 Introduce DWARFDataExtractor::getInitialLength
Summary:
This patch introduces a function to house the code needed to do the
DWARF64 detection dance. The function decodes the initial length field
and returns it as a pair containing the actual length, and the DWARF
encoding.

This patch does _not_ attempt to handle the problem of detecting lengths
which extend past the size of the section, or cases when reads of a
single contribution accidentally escape beyond its specified length, but
I think it's useful in its own right.

Quentin Colombet 5bf0023b0d [GISel][KnownBits] Update a comment regarding the effect of cache on PHIs
Unlike what I claimed in my previous commit. The caching is
actually not NFC on PHIs.

When we put a big enough max depth, we end up simulating loops.
The cache is effectively cutting the simulation short and we
get less information as a result.
E.g.,

v1 = G_PHI i8 v0, v2
v2 = G_LSHR i8 v1, 1
```

Let say we want the known bits of v1.
- With cache:
Set v1 cache to we know nothing
v1 is v0 & v2
v0 gives us 0xC0
v2 gives us known bits of v1 >> 1
v1 is in the cache
=> v1 is 0, thus v2 is 0x80
Finally v1 is v0 & v2 => 0x80

- Without cache and enough depth to do two iteration of the loop:
v1 is v0 & v2
v0 gives us 0xC0
v2 gives us known bits of v1 >> 1
v1 is v0 & v2
v0 is 0xC0
v2 is v1 >> 1
Reach the max depth for v1...
unwinding
v1 is know nothing
v2 is 0x80
v0 is 0xC0
v1 is 0x80
v2 is 0xC0
v0 is 0xC0
v1 is 0xC0

Thus now v1 is 0xC0 instead of 0x80.

I've added a unittest demonstrating that.

Greg Clayton df8dda67ed Add methods to data extractor for extracting bytes and fixed length C strings.
Summary:
These modificaitons will be used in D74883.

Fixed length C strings can have trailing NULLs or sometimes spaces (BSD archive files), so the fixed length C string defaults to stripping trailing NULLs, but can have the arguments specify to remove one or more kinds of spaces if needed. This is used to extract fixed length C strings from ELF NOTEs in D74883.

Pavel Labath b55c58a2d5 [Error/unittests] Add a FailedWithMessage gtest matcher
Summary:
We already have a "Failed" matcher, which can be used to check any
property of the Error object. However, most frequently one just wants to
check the error message, and while this is possible with the "Failed"
matcher, it is also very convoluted
(Failed<ErrorInfoBase>(testing::Property(&ErrorInfoBase::message, "the
message"))).

Now, one can just write: FailedWithMessage("the message"). I expect that
most of the usages will remain this simple, but the argument of the
matcher is not limited to simple strings -- the argument of the matcher
can be any other matcher, so one can write more complicated assertions
if needed (FailedWithMessage(ContainsRegex("foo|bar"))). If one wants to
match multiple error messages, he can pass multiple arguments to the
matcher.

If one wants to match the message list as a whole (perhaps to check the
message count), I've also included a FailedWithMessageArray matcher,
which takes a single matcher receiving a vector of error message
strings.

Sebastian Neubauer e5eeb8465f Make unittests include path relative
This change is relevant when embedding the llvm cmake project into
another project.  It should not change the build behavior of a normal
llvm build.

In the case where llvm is embedded as a cmake subproject,
CMAKE_SOURCE_DIR does not point to the expected directory and building
the tests fails.
Using CMAKE_CURRENT_SOURCE_DIR fixes this problem, as it will always
point to the same directory.

Quentin Colombet e4a9225f5d [GISel][KnownBits] Give up on PHI analysis as soon as we don't know anything
When analyzing PHIs, we gather the known bits for every operand and
merge them together to get the known bits of the result of the PHI.
It is not unusual that merging the information leads to know nothing
on the result (e.g., phi a: i8 3, b: i8 unknown, ..., after looking at the
second argument we know we will know nothing on the result), thus, as
soon as we reach that state, stop analyzing the following operand (i.e.,
on the previous example, we won't process anything after looking at `b`).

This improves compile time in particular with PHIs with a large number
of operands.

Summary:
The Offset provides the offset within the function in a SourceLocation struct. This allows us to show the byte offset within a function. We also track offsets within inline functions as well. Updated the lookup tests to verify the offset for functions and inline functions.

Lang Hames 85fb997659 [ORC] Add generic initializer/deinitializer support.
Initializers and deinitializers are used to implement C++ static constructors
and destructors, runtime registration for some languages (e.g. with the
Objective-C runtime for Objective-C/C++ code) and other tasks that would
typically be performed when a shared-object/dylib is loaded or unloaded by a
statically compiled program.

MCJIT and ORC have historically provided limited support for discovering and
running initializers/deinitializers by scanning the llvm.global_ctors and
llvm.global_dtors variables and recording the functions to be run. This approach
suffers from several drawbacks: (1) It only works for IR inputs, not for object
files (including cached JIT'd objects). (2) It only works for initializers
described by llvm.global_ctors and llvm.global_dtors, however not all
initializers are described in this way (Objective-C, for example, describes
initializers via specially named metadata sections). (3) To make the
initializer/deinitializer functions described by llvm.global_ctors and
llvm.global_dtors searchable they must be promoted to extern linkage, polluting
the JIT symbol table (extra care must be taken to ensure this promotion does
not result in symbol name clashes).

This patch introduces several interdependent changes to ORCv2 to support the
construction of new initialization schemes, and includes an implementation of a
backwards-compatible llvm.global_ctor/llvm.global_dtor scanning scheme, and a
MachO specific scheme that handles Objective-C runtime registration (if the
Objective-C runtime is available) enabling execution of LLVM IR compiled from
Objective-C and Swift.

The major changes included in this patch are:

(1) The MaterializationUnit and MaterializationResponsibility classes are
extended to describe an optional "initializer" symbol for the module (see the
getInitializerSymbol method on each class). The presence or absence of this
symbol indicates whether the module contains any initializers or
deinitializers. The initializer symbol otherwise behaves like any other:
searching for it triggers materialization.

(2) A new Platform interface is introduced in llvm/ExecutionEngine/Orc/Core.h
which provides the following callback interface:

  - Error setupJITDylib(JITDylib &JD): Can be used to install standard symbols
    in JITDylibs upon creation. E.g. __dso_handle.

  - Error notifyAdding(JITDylib &JD, const MaterializationUnit &MU): Generally
    used to record initializer symbols.

  - Error notifyRemoving(JITDylib &JD, VModuleKey K): Used to notify a platform
    that a module is being removed.

  Platform implementations can use these callbacks to track outstanding
initializers and implement a platform-specific approach for executing them. For
example, the MachOPlatform installs a plugin in the JIT linker to scan for both
__mod_inits sections (for C++ static constructors) and ObjC metadata sections.
If discovered, these are processed in the usual platform order: Objective-C
registration is carried out first, then static initializers are executed,
ensuring that calls to Objective-C from static initializers will be safe.

This patch updates LLJIT to use the new scheme for initialization. Two
LLJIT::PlatformSupport classes are implemented: A GenericIR platform and a MachO
platform. The GenericIR platform implements a modified version of the previous
llvm.global-ctor scraping scheme to provide support for Windows and
Linux. LLJIT's MachO platform uses the MachOPlatform class to provide MachO
specific initialization as described above.

Brian Gesiak 26f356350b [LazyCallGraph] Fix ambiguous index value
After having committed https://reviews.llvm.org/D72226, 2 buildbots
running GCC 5.4.0 began failing. The cause was the order in which those
compilers evaluated the left- and right-hand sides of the expression
`RC.SCCIndices[C] = RC.SCCIndices.size();`. This commit splits the
expression into multiple statements to avoid ambiguity, and adds a test
case that exercises the code that caused the test failures on those
older compilers (which was originally included in the reviewed patch,
https://reviews.llvm.org/D72226).

Reid Kleckner 0c2b09a9b6 [IR] Lazily number instructions for local dominance queries
Essentially, fold OrderedBasicBlock into BasicBlock, and make it
auto-invalidate the instruction ordering when new instructions are
added. Notably, we don't need to invalidate it when removing
instructions, which is helpful when a pass mostly delete dead
instructions rather than transforming them.

The downside is that Instruction grows from 56 bytes to 64 bytes.  The
resulting LLVM code is substantially simpler and automatically handles
invalidation, which makes me think that this is the right speed and size
tradeoff.

The important change is in SymbolTableTraitsImpl.h, where the numbering
is invalidated. Everything else should be straightforward.

We probably want to implement a fancier re-numbering scheme so that
local updates don't invalidate the ordering, but I plan for that to be
future work, maybe for someone else.

Brian Gesiak c30d8f7c91 [IR] Set name when inserting 'llvm::Value*'
Summary:
I noticed a small regression in a toy project of mine after applying
D73835, in which instruction names weren't being set properly. In the
example test case included with this patch,
`llvm::IRBuilderBase::CreateAdd` returns an `llvm::Value *` that is then
passed as an argument to `llvm::IRBuilderBase::Insert`. The overloaded
function that is selected for that call then ignores the `Name`
parameter that is given. This patch addresses that issue.

Brian Gesiak 449a135091 Add LazyCallGraph API to add function to RefSCC
Summary:

`LazyCallGraph::addNewFunctionIntoSCC` allows users to insert a new
function node into a call graph, into a specific, existing SCC.

Extend this interface such that functions can be added even when they do
not belong in any existing SCC, but instead in a new SCC within an
existing RefSCC.

The ability to insert new functions as part of a RefSCC is necessary for
outlined functions that do not form a strongly connected cycle with the
function they are outlined from. An example of such a function would be the
coroutine funclets 'f.resume', etc., which are outlined from a coroutine 'f'.
Coroutine 'f' only references the funclets' addresses, it does not call
them directly.

Florian Hahn c1943b42c5 [ValueLattice] Update markConstantRange to return false equal ranges.
Currently we always return true, when markConstantRange is used on an
object already containing a constant range. If NewR is equal to the
existing constant range however, nothing changes and we should return
false.

I also went ahead and added a clarifying comment and improved the
assertion.

Fady Ghanim 7438059a90 [OpenMP][OMPIRBuilder] Add Directives (master and critical) to OMPBuilder.
Add support for Master and Critical directive in the OMPIRBuilder. Both make use of a new common interface for emitting inlined OMP regions called `emitInlinedRegion` which was added in this patch as well.

Also this patch modifies clang to use the new directives when  `-fopenmp-enable-irbuilder` commandline option is passed.

Johannes Doerfert 1228d42dda [OpenMP][Part 2] Use reusable OpenMP context/traits handling
This patch implements an almost complete handling of OpenMP
contexts/traits such that we can reuse most of the logic in Flang
through the OMPContext.{h,cpp} in llvm/Frontend/OpenMP.

All but construct SIMD specifiers, e.g., inbranch, and the device ISA
selector are define in `llvm/lib/Frontend/OpenMP/OMPKinds.def`. From
these definitions we generate the enum classes `TraitSet`,
`TraitSelector`, and `TraitProperty` as well as conversion and helper
functions in `llvm/lib/Frontend/OpenMP/OMPContext.{h,cpp}`.

The above enum classes are used in the parser, sema, and the AST
attribute. The latter is not a collection of multiple primitive variant
arguments that contain encodings via numbers and strings but instead a
tree that mirrors the `match` clause (see `struct OpenMPTraitInfo`).

The changes to the parser make it more forgiving when wrong syntax is
read and they also resulted in more specialized diagnostics. The tests
are updated and the core issues are detected as before. Here and
elsewhere this patch tries to be generic, thus we do not distinguish
what selector set, selector, or property is parsed except if they do
behave exceptionally, as for example `user={condition(EXPR)}` does.

The sema logic changed in two ways: First, the OMPDeclareVariantAttr
representation changed, as mentioned above, and the sema was adjusted to
work with the new `OpenMPTraitInfo`. Second, the matching and scoring
logic moved into `OMPContext.{h,cpp}`. It is implemented on a flat
representation of the `match` clause that is not tied to clang.
`OpenMPTraitInfo` provides a method to generate this flat structure (see
`struct VariantMatchInfo`) by computing integer score values and boolean
user conditions from the `clang::Expr` we keep for them.

The OpenMP context is now an explicit object (see `struct OMPContext`).
This is in anticipation of construct traits that need to be tracked. The
OpenMP context, as well as the `VariantMatchInfo`, are basically made up
of a set of active or respectively required traits, e.g., 'host', and an
ordered container of constructs which allows duplication. Matching and
scoring is kept as generic as possible to allow easy extension in the
future.

Test changes:

The messages checked in `OpenMP/declare_variant_messages.{c,cpp}` have
been auto generated to match the new warnings and notes of the parser.
The "subset" checks were reversed causing the wrong version to be
picked. The tests have been adjusted to correct this.
We do not print scores if the user did not provide one.
We print spaces to make lists in the `match` clause more legible.

Alexandre Ganea 8404aeb56a [Support] On Windows, ensure hardware_concurrency() extends to all CPU sockets and all NUMA groups
The goal of this patch is to maximize CPU utilization on multi-socket or high core count systems, so that parallel computations such as LLD/ThinLTO can use all hardware threads in the system. Before this patch, on Windows, a maximum of 64 hardware threads could be used at most, in some cases dispatched only on one CPU socket.

== Background ==
Windows doesn't have a flat cpu_set_t like Linux. Instead, it projects hardware CPUs (or NUMA nodes) to applications through a concept of "processor groups". A "processor" is the smallest unit of execution on a CPU, that is, an hyper-thread if SMT is active; a core otherwise. There's a limit of 32-bit processors on older 32-bit versions of Windows, which later was raised to 64-processors with 64-bit versions of Windows. This limit comes from the affinity mask, which historically is represented by the sizeof(void*). Consequently, the concept of "processor groups" was introduced for dealing with systems with more than 64 hyper-threads.

By default, the Windows OS assigns only one "processor group" to each starting application, in a round-robin manner. If the application wants to use more processors, it needs to programmatically enable it, by assigning threads to other "processor groups". This also means that affinity cannot cross "processor group" boundaries; one can only specify a "preferred" group on start-up, but the application is free to allocate more groups if it wants to.

This creates a peculiar situation, where newer CPUs like the AMD EPYC 7702P (64-cores, 128-hyperthreads) are projected by the OS as two (2) "processor groups". This means that by default, an application can only use half of the cores. This situation could only get worse in the years to come, as dies with more cores will appear on the market.

== The problem ==
The heavyweight_hardware_concurrency() API was introduced so that only *one hardware thread per core* was used. Once that API returns, that original intention is lost, only the number of threads is retained. Consider a situation, on Windows, where the system has 2 CPU sockets, 18 cores each, each core having 2 hyper-threads, for a total of 72 hyper-threads. Both heavyweight_hardware_concurrency() and hardware_concurrency() currently return 36, because on Windows they are simply wrappers over std:🧵:hardware_concurrency() -- which can only return processors from the current "processor group".

== The changes in this patch ==
To solve this situation, we capture (and retain) the initial intention until the point of usage, through a new ThreadPoolStrategy class. The number of threads to use is deferred as late as possible, until the moment where the std::threads are created (ThreadPool in the case of ThinLTO).

When using hardware_concurrency(), setting ThreadCount to 0 now means to use all the possible hardware CPU (SMT) threads. Providing a ThreadCount above to the maximum number of threads will have no effect, the maximum will be used instead.
The heavyweight_hardware_concurrency() is similar to hardware_concurrency(), except that only one thread per hardware *core* will be used.

When LLVM_ENABLE_THREADS is OFF, the threading APIs will always return 1, to ensure any caller loops will be exercised at least once.

James Henderson fe6983a75a [DebugInfo] Error if unsupported address size detected in line table
Prior to this patch, if a DW_LNE_set_address opcode was parsed with an
address size (i.e. with a length after the opcode) of anything other 1,
2, 4, or 8, an llvm_unreachable would be hit, as the data extractor does
not support other values. This patch introduces a new error check that
verifies the address size is one of the supported sizes, in common with
other places within the DWARF parsing.

This patch also fixes calculation of a generated line table's size in
unit tests. One of the tests in this patch highlighted a bug introduced
in 1271cde474, when non-byte operands were used as arguments for
extended or standard opcodes.

Vedant Kumar 8e77b33b3c [Local] Do not move around dbg.declares during replaceDbgDeclare
replaceDbgDeclare is used to update the descriptions of stack variables
when they are moved (e.g. by ASan or SafeStack). A side effect of
replaceDbgDeclare is that it moves dbg.declares around in the
instruction stream (typically by hoisting them into the entry block).
This behavior was introduced in llvm/r227544 to fix an assertion failure
(llvm.org/PR22386), but no longer appears to be necessary.

Hoisting a dbg.declare generally does not create problems. Usually,
dbg.declare either describes an argument or an alloca in the entry
block, and backends have special handling to emit locations for these.
In optimized builds, LowerDbgDeclare places dbg.values in the right
spots regardless of where the dbg.declare is. And no one uses
replaceDbgDeclare to handle things like VLAs.

However, there doesn't seem to be a positive case for moving
dbg.declares around anymore, and this reordering can get in the way of
understanding other bugs. I propose getting rid of it.

Greg Clayton 19602b7194 Add a DWARF transformer class that converts DWARF to GSYM.
Summary:
The DWARF transformer is added as a class so it can be unit tested fully.

The DWARF is converted to GSYM format and handles many special cases for functions:
- omit functions in compile units with 4 byte addresses whose address is UINT32_MAX (dead stripped)
- omit functions in compile units with 8 byte addresses whose address is UINT64_MAX (dead stripped)
- omit any functions whose high PC is <= low PC (dead stripped)
- StringTable builder doesn't copy strings, so we need to make backing copies of strings but only when needed. Many strings come from sections in object files and won't need to have backing copies, but some do.
- When a function doesn't have a mangled name, store the fully qualified name by creating a string by traversing the parent decl context DIEs and then. If we don't do this, we end up having cases where some function might appear in the GSYM as "erase" instead of "std::vector<int>::erase".
- omit any functions whose address isn't in the optional TextRanges member variable of DwarfTransformer. This allows object file to register address ranges that are known valid code ranges and can help omit functions that should have been dead stripped, but just had their low PC values set to zero. In this case we have many functions that all appear at address zero and can omit these functions by making sure they fall into good address ranges on the object file. Many compilers do this when the DWARF has a DW_AT_low_pc with a DW_FORM_addr, and a DW_AT_high_pc with a DW_FORM_data4 as the offset from the low PC. In this case the linker can't write the same address to both the high and low PC since there is only a relocation for the DW_AT_low_pc, so many linkers tend to just zero it out.

Finalization can introduce new blocks we need to outline as well so it
makes sense to identify the blocks that need to be outlined after
finalization happened. There was also a minor unit test adjustment to
account for the fact that we have a single outlined exit block now.

Reapply 8a56d64d76 with minor fixes.

The problem was that cancellation can cause new edges to the parallel
region exit block which is not outlined. The CodeExtractor will encode
the information which "exit" was taken as a return value. The fix is to
ensure we do not return any value from the outlined function, to prevent
control to value conversion we ensure a single exit block for the
outlined region.

This reverts commit 3aac953afa.

In order to fix PR44560 and to prepare for loop transformations we now
finalize a function late, which will also do the outlining late. The
logic is as before but the actual outlining step happens now after the
function was fully constructed. Once we have loop transformations we
can apply them in the finalize step before the outlining.

[llvm-exegesis] Exploring X86::OperandType::OPERAND_COND_CODE
Summary:
Currently, we only have nice exploration for LEA instruction,
while for the rest, we rely on `randomizeUnsetVariables()`
to sometimes generate something interesting.
While that works, it isn't very reliable in coverage :)

Here, i'm making an assumption that while we may want to explore
multi-instruction configs, we are most interested in the
characteristics of the main instruction we were asked about.

Which we can do, by taking the existing `randomizeMCOperand()`,
and turning it on it's head - instead of relying on it to randomly fill
one of the interesting values, let's pregenerate all the possible interesting
values for the variable, and then generate as much `InstructionTemplate`
combinations of these possible values for variables as needed/possible.

Of course, that requires invasive changes to no longer pass just the
naked `Instruction`, but sometimes partially filled `InstructionTemplate`.

As it can be seen from the test, this allows us to explore
`X86::OperandType::OPERAND_COND_CODE` for instructions
that take such an operand.
I'm hoping this will greatly simplify exploration.

James Henderson bf4d8f2952 [DebugInfo] Add checks for v2 directory and file name table terminators
The DWARFv2-4 specification for the line table header states that the
include directories and file name tables both end with a single null
byte. Prior to this change, the parser did not detect if this byte was
missing, because it also stopped reading the tables once it reached the
prologue end, as claimed by the header_length field. This change adds a
check that the terminator has been seen at the end of each table.

Sterling Augustine 417375d785 Allow retrieving source files relative to the compilation directory.
Summary:
Dwarf stores source-file names the three parts:
<compilation_directory><include_directory><filename>

Prior to this change, the code only allowed retrieving either all
three as the absolute path, or just the filename.  But many
compile-command lines--especially those in hermetic build systems
don't specify an absolute path, nor just the filename, but rather the
path relative to the compilation directory. This features allows
retrieving them in that style.

Add tests for path printing styles.

Modify createBasicPrologue to handle include directories.

Justin Lebar fb45968e62 Use C++14-style return type deduction in LLVM.
Summary:
Simplifies the C++11-style "-> decltype(...)" return-type deduction.

Note that you have to be careful about whether the function return type
is `auto` or `decltype(auto)`.  The difference is that bare `auto`
strips const and reference, just like lambda return type deduction.  In
some cases that's what we want (or more likely, we know that the return
type is a value type), but whenever we're wrapping a templated function
which might return a reference, we need to be sure that the return type
is decltype(auto).

No functional change.

James Henderson b1c7bfe6da [DebugInfo] Reject line tables of version > 5
If a debug line section with version of greater than 5 is encountered,
prior to this change the parser would accept it and treat it as version
5. This might work to some extent, but then it might not at all, as it
really depends on the format of the unspecified future version, which
will be different (otherwise there would be no point in changing the
version number). Any information we could provide has a good chance of
being invalid, so we should just refuse to parse such tables.

James Henderson 1dc62d0358 [DebugInfo][test] Replace pre-canned binary test
The DebugInfo/dwarfdump-invalid-line-table test used a pre-canned binary
generated by a fuzzer to demonstrate a bug fix. Unfortunately, the
binary is rigid and requires hand-editing if we change behaviour, such
as rejecting certain properties within it (as I plan on doing in another
change).

Rather than hand-edit the binary, I have replaced it with two tests. The
first tests the high-level code path from the debug line parser that
produces the same error as this test previously did, and the second is a
set of unit test cases that comprehensively cover the
FormValue::skipValue method, which in turn covers the area that the
original bug fix touched.

Also this patch modifies clang to use the new directives when  `-fopenmp-enable-irbuilder` commandline option is passed.

Hans Wennborg 6c4a8bc0a9 Make llvm::crc32() work also for input sizes larger than 32 bits.
The problem was noticed by the Chrome OS toolchain folks
(crbug.com/1048445) because llvm-objcopy --add-gnu-debuglink would
insert the wrong checksum when processing a binary larger than 4 GB.
That use case regressed in 1e1e3ba252 when we started using
llvm::crc32() in more places.

Sanjay Patel 686a038ed8 [Analysis] add query to get splat value from array of ints
I was debug stepping through an x86 shuffle lowering and
noticed we were doing an N^2 search for splat index. I
didn't find the equivalent functionality anywhere else in
LLVM, so here's a helper that takes an array of int and
returns a splatted index while ignoring undefs (any
negative value).

This might also be used inside existing
ShuffleVectorInst/ShuffleVectorSDNode functions and/or
help with D72467.

Adrian McCarthy da45bd2321 [VFS] More consistent support for Windows
Removed some #ifdefs specific to Windows handling of VFS paths.  This
eliminates most of the differences between the Windows and non-Windows
code paths.

Making this work required some changes to account for the fact that VFS
file paths can be Posix style or Windows style, so you cannot just assume
that they use the host's native path style.  In one case, this means
implementing our own version of make_absolute, since the filesystem code
in Support doesn't have styles in the sense that the path code does.

Matt Arsenault a3c814d234 Separately track input and output denormal mode
AMDGPU and x86 at least both have separate controls for whether
denormal results are flushed on output, and for whether denormals are
implicitly treated as 0 as an input. The current DAGCombiner use only
really cares about the input treatment of denormals.

I mentioned this result to @chandlerc, and he suggested this direction.

AnalysisManager is already explicitly instantiated, and getResultImpl
doesn't need to be inlined. Move the definition to an Impl header, and
include that header in files that explicitly instantiate
AnalysisManager. There are only four (real) IR units:
- function
- module
- loop
- cgscc

Looking at a specific transform (ArgumentPromotion.cpp), here are three
compilations before & after this change:

BEFORE:

peak memory: 258.15MB
real: 0m6.297s
peak memory: 257.54MB

The 20MB of memory saved seems real, and the time improvement seems like
it is there.

Raphael Isemann b848b510a8 [llvm] Add a way to speed up the speed in which BumpPtrAllocator increases slab sizes
Summary:
In D68549 we noticed that our BumpPtrAllocator we use for LLDB's ConstString implementation is growing its slabs at
a rate that is too slow for our use case. It causes that we spend a lot of time calling `malloc` for all the tiny slabs that our
ConstString BumpPtrAllocators create. We also can't just increase the slab size in the ConstString implementation
(which is what D68549 originally did) as this really increased the amount of (mostly unused) allocated memory
in any process using ConstString.

This patch adds a template argument for the BumpPtrAllocatorImpl that allows specifying a faster rate at which the
BumpPtrAllocator increases the slab size. This allows LLDB to specify a faster rate at which the slabs grow which
should keep both memory consumption and time spent calling malloc low.

Johannes Doerfert c953409ff8 [OpenMP][Part 1] Reusable OpenMP context/traits handling
This is the first of multiple parts to make OpenMP context/trait
handling reusable and generic. This patch was originally part of D71830
but with the unit tests it can be tested independently.

This patch implements an almost complete handling of OpenMP
contexts/traits such that we can reuse most of the logic in Flang
through the OMPContext.{h,cpp} in llvm/Frontend/OpenMP.

All but construct SIMD specifiers, e.g., inbranch, and the device ISA
selector are define in llvm/lib/Frontend/OpenMP/OMPKinds.def. From
these definitions we generate the enum classes TraitSet,
TraitSelector, and TraitProperty as well as conversion and helper
functions in llvm/lib/Frontend/OpenMP/OMPContext.{h,cpp}.

The OpenMP context is now an explicit object (see `struct OMPContext`).
This is in anticipation of construct traits that need to be tracked. The
OpenMP context, as well as the VariantMatchInfo, are basically made up
of a set of active or respectively required traits, e.g., 'host', and an
ordered container of constructs which allows duplication. Matching and
scoring is kept as generic as possible to allow easy extension in the
future.

James Henderson 021f531786 [DebugInfo] Fix DebugLine::Prologue::getLength
The function a) returned 32-bits when in DWARF64, the PrologueLength
field is 64-bits in size, and b) didn't work for DWARF version 5.

Also deleted some related dead code. With this deletion, getLength is

Francesco Petrogalli 623cff81fe [llvm][VectorUtils] Tweak VFShape for scalable vector functions.
Summary:
This patch makes sure that the field VFShape.VF is greater than zero
when demangling the vector function name of scalable vector functions
encoded in the "vector-function-abi-variant" attribute.

This change is required to be able to provide instances of VFShape
that can be used to query the VFDatabase for the vectorization passes,
as such passes always require a positive value for the Vectorization Factor (VF)
needed by the vectorization process.

It is not possible to extract the value of VFShape.VF from the mangled
name of scalable vector functions, because it is encoded as
`x`. Therefore, the VFABI demangling function has been modified to
extract such information from the IR declaration of the vector
function, under the assumption that _all_ vectors in the signature of
the vector function have the same number of lanes. Such assumption is
valid because it is also assumed by the Vector Function ABI
specifications supported by the demangling function (x86, AArch64, and
LLVM internal one).

The unit tests that demangle scalable names have been modified by
adding the IR module that carries the declaration of the vector
function name being demangled.

In particular, the demangling function fails in the following cases:

1. When the declaration of the scalable vector function is not
    present in the module.

2. When the value of VFSHape.VF is not greater than 0.

Vedant Kumar 8359511c62 [CodeExtractor] Remove stale llvm.assume calls from extracted region
During extraction, stale llvm.assume handles may be retained in the
original function. The setup is:

1) CodeExtractor unregisters assumptions in the blocks that are to be
   extracted.

2) Extraction happens. There are now two functions: f1 and f1.extracted.

3) Leftover assumptions in f1 (/not/ removed as they were not in the set of
   blocks to be extracted) now have affected-value llvm.assume handles in
   f1.extracted.

When assumptions for a value used in f1 are looked up, ValueTracking can assert
as some of the handles are in the wrong function. To fix this, simply erase the
llvm.assume calls in the extracted function.

Alternatives include flushing the assumption cache in the original function, or
walking all values used in the original function to prune stale affected-value
handles. Both seem more expensive.

Testing: check-llvm, LNT run with -mllvm -hot-cold-split enabled

Benjamin Kramer adcd026838 Make llvm::StringRef to std::string conversions explicit.
This is how it should've been and brings it more in line with
std::string_view. There should be no functional change here.

This is mostly mechanical from a custom clang-tidy check, with a lot of
manual fixups. It uncovers a lot of minor inefficiencies.

This doesn't actually modify StringRef yet, I'll do that in a follow-up.

codebases. Eventually we want to replace StringRef with the standard

James Henderson f1be770ff6 [DebugInfo] Make incorrect debug line extended opcode length non-fatal
It is possible to try to keep parsing a debug line program even when the
length of an extended opcode does not match what is expected for that
opcode. This patch changes what was previously a fatal error to be
non-fatal. The parser now continues by assuming the the claimed length
is correct, even if it means moving the offset backwards.

StringMap.h is very popular (4K uses), and it doesn't need to see
BumpPtrAllocator, which is relatively expensive according to
ClangBuildAnalyzer. StringMap only needs MallocAllocator, so split that
into AllocatorBase.h and use it instead.

Teach the GISelKnowBits analysis how to deal with PHI operations.
PHIs are essentially COPYs happening on edges, so we can just reuse
the code for COPY.

This is NFC COPY-wise has we leave Depth untouched when calling
computeKnownBitsImpl for COPYs, like it was before this patch.
Increasing Depth is however required for PHIs as they may loop back to
themselves and we would end up in an infinite loop if we were not
increasing Depth.

Thomas Preud'homme 8e96697c7d FileCheck [9/12]: Add support for matching formats
Summary:
This patch is part of a patch series to add support for FileCheck
numeric expressions. This specific patch adds support for selecting a
matching format to match a numeric value against (ie. decimal, hex lower
case letters or hex upper case letters).

This commit allows to select what format a numeric value should be
matched against. The following formats are supported: decimal value,
lower case hex value and upper case hex value. Matching formats impact
both the format of numeric value to be matched as well as the format of
accepted numbers in a definition with empty numeric expression
constraint.

Default for absence of format is decimal value unless the numeric
expression constraint is non null and use a variable in which case the
format is the one used to define that variable. Conclict of format in
case of several variable being used is diagnosed and forces the user to
select a matching format explicitely.

This commit also enables immediates in numeric expressions to be in any
radix known to StringRef's GetAsInteger method, except for legacy
numeric expressions (ie [[@LINE+<offset>]] which only support decimal
immediates.

Fedor Sergeev 2f6987ba61 [LoopRotate] add ability to repeat loop rotation until non-deoptimizing exit is found
In case of loops with multiple exit where all-but-one exit are deoptimizing
it might happen that the first rotation will end up with latch having a deoptimizing
exit. This makes the loop unsuitable for trip-count analysis (say, getLoopEstimatedTripCount)
as well as for loop transformations that know how to handle multple deoptimizing exits.

It pretty much means that canonical form in multple-deoptimizing-exits case should be
with non-deoptimizing exit at latch.
Teach loop-rotation to reach this canonical form by repeating rotation.

-loop-rotate-multi option introduced to control this behavior, currently disabled by default.

Simon Tatham 772e493193 [ARM,MVE] Revise immediate VBIC/VORR to look more like NEON.
Summary:
In NEON, the immediate forms of VBIC and VORR are each represented as
a single MC instruction, which takes its immediate operand already
encoded in a NEON-friendly format: 8 data bits, plus some control bits
indicating how to expand them into a full vector.

In MVE, we represented immediate VBIC and VORR as four separate MC
instructions each, for an 8-bit immediate shifted left by 0, 8, 16 or
24 bits. For each one, the value of the immediate operand is in the
'natural' form, i.e. the numerical value that would actually be BICed
or ORRed into each vector lane (and also the same value shown in
assembly). For example, MVE_VBICIZ16v4i32 takes an operand such as
0xab0000, which NEON would represent as 0xab | (control bits << 8).

The MVE approach is superficially nice (it makes assembly input and
output easy, and it's also nice if you're manually constructing
immediate VBICs). But it turns out that it's better for isel if we
make the NEON and MVE instructions work the same, because the
ARMISD::VBICIMM and VORRIMM node types already encode their immediate
into the NEON format, so it's easier if we can just use it.

Also, this commit reduces the total amount of code rather than
increasing it, which is surely an indication that it really is simpler
to do it this way!

Nikita Popov ed80c86c88 [PatternMatch] Add m_APInt/m_APFloat matchers accepting undef
The current m_APInt() and m_APFloat() matchers do not accept splats
that include undefs (unlike m_Zero() and other matchers for specific
values). We can't simply change the default behavior, as there are
existing transforms that would not be safe with undefs.

For this reason, I'm introducing new m_APIntAllowUndef() and
m_APFloatAllowUndef() matchers, that allow splats with undefs.
Additionally, m_APIntForbidUndef() and m_APFloatForbidUndef() are
added. These have the same behavior as the existing m_APInt() and
m_APFloat(), but serve as an explicit indication that undefs were
considered and found unsound for this transform. This helps
distinguish them from existing uses of m_APInt() where we do not
know whether undefs can or cannot be allowed without additional review.

David Green 58991ba773 [ARM] Mark MVE loads/store as not having side effects
The hasSideEffect parameter is usually automatically inferred from
instruction patterns. For some of our MVE instructions, we do not have
patterns though, such as for the pre/post inc loads and stores. This
instead specifies the flag manually on the base MVE_VLDRSTR_base
tablegen class, making sure we get this correct.

This can help with scheduling multiple loads more optimally. Here I've
added a unittest as a more direct form of testing.

We previously had to guard against older MSVC and GCC versions which had rvalue
references but not support for marking functions with ref qualifiers. However,
having bumped our minimum required version to MSVC 2017 and GCC 5.1 mean we can
unconditionally enable this feature. Rather than keeping the macro around, this
replaces use of the macro with the actual ref qualifier.

Lang Hames ce2207abaf [ORC] Add support for emulated TLS to ORCv2.
This commit adds a ManglingOptions struct to IRMaterializationUnit, and replaces
IRCompileLayer::CompileFunction with a new IRCompileLayer::IRCompiler class. The
ManglingOptions struct defines the emulated-TLS state (via a bool member,
EmulatedTLS, which is true if emulated-TLS is enabled and false otherwise). The
IRCompileLayer::IRCompiler class wraps an IRCompiler (the same way that the
CompileFunction typedef used to), but adds a method to return the
IRCompileLayer::ManglingOptions that the compiler will use.

These changes allow us to correctly determine the symbols that will be produced
when a thread local global variable defined at the IR level is compiled with or
without emulated TLS. This is required for ORCv2, where MaterializationUnits
must declare their interface up-front.

Most ORCv2 clients should not require any changes. Clients writing custom IR
compilers will need to wrap their compiler in an IRCompileLayer::IRCompiler,
rather than an IRCompileLayer::CompileFunction, however this should be a
straightforward change (see modifications to CompileUtils.* in this patch for an
example).

Miloš Stojanović 24b7b99b7d [llvm-exegesis][NFC] Disassociate snippet generators from benchmark runners
The addition of `inverse_throughput` mode highlighted the disjointedness
of snippet generators and benchmark runners because it used the
`UopsSnippetGenerator` with the  `LatencyBenchmarkRunner`.
To keep the code consistent tie the snippet generators to
parallelization/serialization rather than their benchmark runners.

Renaming `LatencySnippetGenerator` -> `SerialSnippetGenerator`.
Renaming `UopsSnippetGenerator` -> `ParallelSnippetGenerator`.

Nico Weber 1d568bf960 Remove AllTargetsAsmPrinters
It's been an empty target since r360498 and friends
(`git log --grep='Move InstPrinter files to MCTargetDesc.' llvm/lib/Target`),
but due to hwo the way these targets are structured it was silently
an empty target without anyone noticing.

No behavior change.

The DW_AT_LLVM_sysroot attribute is used for Clang module debug info,
to allow LLDB to import a Clang module from source. Currently it is
part of each DW_TAG_module, however, it is the same for all modules in
a compile unit. It is more efficient and less ambiguous to store it
once in the DW_TAG_compile_unit.

This should have no effect on DWARF consumers other than LLDB.

Adrian Prantl 12e479475a Rename DW_AT_LLVM_isysroot to DW_AT_LLVM_sysroot
This is a purely cosmetic change that is NFC in terms of the binary
output. I bugs me that I called the attribute DW_AT_LLVM_isysroot
since the "i" is an artifact of GCC command line option syntax
(-isysroot is in the category of -i options) and doesn't carry any
useful information otherwise.

This attribute only appears in Clang module debug info.

David Blaikie 65eb74e94b PointerLikeTypeTraits: Standardize NumLowBitsAvailable on static constexpr rather than anonymous enum
This is (more?) usable by GDB pretty printers and seems nicer to write.

There's one tricky caveat that in C++14 (LLVM's codebase today) the
static constexpr member declaration is not a definition - so odr use of
this constant requires an out of line definition, which won't be
provided (that'd make all these trait classes more annoyidng/expensive
to maintain). But the use of this constant in the library implementation
is/should always be in a non-odr context - only two unit tests needed to
be touched to cope with this/avoid odr using these constants.

Sanjay Patel 52b44902d0 [IR] fix crash in Constant::isElementWiseEqual() with FP types
We lifted this code from InstCombine for general usage in:
rL369842
...but it's not safe as-is. There are no existing users that can
trigger this bug, but I discovered it via crashing several
regression tests when trying to use it for select folding in
InstSimplify.

ICmp requires (vector) integer types, so give up on anything that's
not integer or FP (pointers and ?) then bitcast the constants
before trying the match. That matches the definition of "equal or
undef" that I was looking for. If someone wants an FP-aware version
of equality (deal with NaN, -0.0), that could be a different mode
or different function.

stevewan bed7626f04 [PowerPC][AIX] Make PIC the default relocation model for AIX
Summary:
The `llc` tool currently defaults to Static relocation model and generates non-relocatable code for 32-bit Power.
This is not desirable on AIX where we always generate Position Independent Code (PIC). This patch makes PIC the default relocation model for AIX.

Francesco Petrogalli 66c120f025 [VectorUtils] Rework the Vector Function Database (VFDatabase).

The rework was requested to prevent out-of-tree performance regression
when vectorizing out-of-tree IR intrinsics. The vectorization of such

Lang Hames d2fabd7006 [ORC] Update lazyReexports to support aliases with different symbol names.
A bug in the existing implementation meant that lazyReexports would not work if
the aliased name differed from the alias's name, i.e. all lazy reexports had to
be of the form (lib1, name) -> (lib2, name). This patch fixes the issue by
capturing the alias's name in the NotifyResolved callback. To simplify this
capture, and the LazyCallThroughManager code in general, the NotifyResolved
callback is updated to use llvm::unique_function rather than a custom class.

No test case yet: This can only be tested at runtime, and the only in-tree
client (lli) always uses aliases with matching names. I will add a new LLJIT
example shortly that will directly test the lazyReexports API and the
non-trivial alias use case.

Tom Stellard 0dbcb36394 CMake: Make most target symbols hidden by default
Summary:
For builds with LLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB=ON and BUILD_SHARED_LIBS=OFF
this change makes all symbols in the target specific libraries hidden
by default.

A new macro called LLVM_EXTERNAL_VISIBILITY has been added to mark symbols in these
libraries public, which is mainly needed for the definitions of the
LLVMInitialize* functions.

This patch reduces the number of public symbols in libLLVM.so by about
25%.  This should improve load times for the dynamic library and also
make abi checker tools, like abidiff require less memory when analyzing
libLLVM.so

One side-effect of this change is that for builds with
LLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB=ON and LLVM_LINK_LLVM_DYLIB=ON some unittests that
access symbols that are no longer public will need to be statically linked.

Before and after public symbol counts (using gcc 8.2.1, ld.bfd 2.31.1):
