Roman Lebedev 30d2608637 Replace r313747, don't always warn on enums, rework testcases.
As Aaron Ballman has pointed out, that is not really correct.
So the key problem there is the invalidity of the testcase.

Revert r313747, and rework testcase in such a way, so these
details (platform-specific default enum sigdness) are
accounted for.

Also, add a C++-specific testcase.

Roman Lebedev b0f0a1ea03 [Sema] Move some stuff into -Wtautological-unsigned-enum-zero-compare
Recommit. Original commit was reverted because buildbots broke.
The error was only reproducible in the build with assertions.
The problem was that the diagnostic expected true/false as
bool, while it was provided as string "true"/"false".

Summary:
As requested by Sam McCall:
> Enums (not new I guess). Typical case: if (enum < 0 || enum > MAX)
> The warning strongly suggests that the enum < 0 check has no effect
> (for enums with nonnegative ranges).
> Clang doesn't seem to optimize such checks out though, and they seem
> likely to catch bugs in some cases. Yes, only if there's UB elsewhere,
> but I assume not optimizing out these checks indicates a deliberate
> decision to stay somewhat compatible with a technically-incorrect
> mental model.
> If this is the case, should we move these to a
> -Wtautological-compare-enum subcategory?

Richard Smith 405e2dbf37 Implement C++ [basic.link]p8.
If a function or variable has a type with no linkage (and is not extern "C"),
any use of it requires a definition within the same translation unit; the idea
is that it is not possible to define the entity elsewhere, so any such use is
necessarily an error.

There is an exception, though: some types formally have no linkage but
nonetheless can be referenced from other translation units (for example, this
happens to anonymous structures defined within inline functions). For entities
with those types, we suppress the diagnostic except under -pedantic.

It looks like compiler-rt/lib/tsan/rtl/tsan_libdispatch_mac.cc cannot be

Erich Keane 0ac9524c99 [Sema] Fix a pair of crashes when generating exception specifiers with an
error'ed field for a template class' default ctor.

The two examples in the test would both cause a compiler assert when attempting
to calculate the exception specifier for the default constructor for the
template classes. The problem was that dependents of this function expect that
Field->getInClassInitializer (including canThrow) is not nullptr. However, if
the template's initializer has an error, exactly that situation happens.

This patch simply sets the field to be invalid.

Faisal Vali f60ebcda68 Fix the second half of PR34266: Don't implicitly capture '*this' if the members are found in a class unrelated to the enclosing class.
https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34266

For e.g.
  struct A {
     void f(int);
     static void f(char);
  };
  struct B {
    auto foo() {
      return [&] (auto a) {
         A::f(a); // this should not cause a capture of '*this'
      };
    }
  };

The patch does the following:
1) It moves the check to attempt an implicit capture of '*this' by reference into the more logical location of when the call is actually built within ActOnCallExpr (as opposed to when the unresolved-member-lookup node is created).
  - Reminder: A capture of '*this' by value has to always be an explicit capture.

2) It additionally checks whether the naming class of the UnresolvedMemberExpr ('A' in the example above) is related to the enclosing class ('B' above).

The fixes incorporated here attempt to find llvm/utils/llvm-lit
from the source tree returned by llvm-config. If present, it
will generate llvm-lit into the output directory. Regardless,
the user can specify -DLLVM_EXTERNAL_LIT to point to a specific
lit.py on their file system. This supports the use case of
someone installing lit via a package manager. If it cannot find
a source tree, and -DLLVM_EXTERNAL_LIT is either unspecified or

This fixes PR28903 by avoiding access check for inner enum constant. We
are performing access check because one enum constant references another
and because enum is defined in CXXRecordDecl. But access check doesn't
work because FindDeclaringClass doesn't expect more than one EnumDecl
and because inner enum has access AS_none due to not being an immediate
child of a record.

The change detects an enum is defined in wrong place and allows to skip
parsing its body. Access check is skipped together with body parsing.
There was no crash in C, added test case to cover the new error.

but cannot handle pseudo-objects and asserts about it (indirectly,
through `CheckAssignmentOperands`).

Zachary Turner a0e55b6403 [lit] Force site configs to be run before source-tree configs
This patch simplifies LLVM's lit infrastructure by enforcing an ordering
that a site config is always run before a source-tree config.

A significant amount of the complexity from lit config files arises from
the fact that inside of a source-tree config file, we don't yet know if
the site config has been run. However it is *always* required to run
a site config first, because it passes various variables down through
CMake that the main config depends on. As a result, every config
file has to do a bunch of magic to try to reverse-engineer the location
of the site config file if they detect (heuristically) that the site
config file has not yet been run.

This patch solves the problem by emitting a mapping from source tree
config file to binary tree site config file in llvm-lit.py. Then, during
discovery when we find a config file, we check to see if we have a
target mapping for it, and if so we use that instead.

This mechanism is generic enough that it does not affect external users
of lit. They will just not have a config mapping defined, and everything
will work as normal.

On the other hand, for us it allows us to make many simplifications:

* We are guaranteed that a site config will be executed first
* Inside of a main config, we no longer have to assume that attributes
  might not be present and use getattr everywhere.
* We no longer have to pass parameters such as --param llvm_site_config=<path>
  on the command line.
* It is future-proof, meaning you don't have to edit llvm-lit.in to add
  support for new projects.
* All of the duplicated logic of trying various fallback mechanisms of
  finding a site config from the main config are now gone.

One potentially noteworthy thing that was required to implement this
change is that whereas the ninja check targets previously used the first
method to spawn lit, they now use the second. In particular, you can no
longer run lit.py against the source tree while specifying the various
`foo_site_config=<path>` parameters. Instead, you need to run
llvm-lit.py.

local-rename action

This commit introduces the clang-refactor tool alongside the local-rename action
which uses the existing renaming engine used by clang-rename. The tool
doesn't actually perform the source transformations yet, it just provides
testing support. This commit also moves only one test from clang-rename over to
test/Refactor. I will continue to move the other tests throughout
development of clang-refactor.

The following options are supported by clang-refactor:

-v: use verbose output
-selection: The source range that corresponds to the portion of the source
 that's selected (currently only special command test:<file> is supported).

Please note that a follow-up commit will migrate clang-refactor to
libTooling's common option parser, so clang-refactor will be able to use
the common interface with compilation database and options like -p, -extra-arg,
etc.

The testing support provided by clang-refactor is described below:

When -selection=test:<file> is given, clang-refactor will parse the selection
commands from that file. The selection commands are grouped and the specified
refactoring action invoked by the tool. Each command in a group is expected to
produce an identical result. The precise syntax for the selection commands is
described in a comment in TestSupport.h.

Vedant Kumar bb5d485cd3 [ubsan] Function Sanitizer: Don't require writable text segments
This change will make it possible to use -fsanitize=function on Darwin and
possibly on other platforms. It fixes an issue with the way RTTI is stored into
function prologue data.

On Darwin, addresses stored in prologue data can't require run-time fixups and
must be PC-relative. Run-time fixups are undesirable because they necessitate
writable text segments, which can lead to security issues. And absolute
addresses are undesirable because they break PIE mode.

The fix is to create a private global which points to the RTTI, and then to
encode a PC-relative reference to the global into prologue data.

Vedant Kumar 3919a501f3 [Lexer] Report more precise skipped regions (PR34166)
This patch teaches the preprocessor to report more precise source ranges for
code that is skipped due to conditional directives.

The new behavior includes the '#' from the opening directive and the full text
of the line containing the closing directive in the skipped area. This matches
up clang's behavior (we don't IRGen the code between the closing "endif" and
the end of a line).

This also affects the code coverage implementation. See llvm.org/PR34166 (this
also happens to be rdar://problem/23224058).

The old behavior (report the end of the skipped range as the end
location of the 'endif' token) is preserved for indexing clients.

Miklos Vajna bf0d49c437 clang-rename: let -force handle multiple renames
Summary:
The use case is that renaming multiple symbols in a large enough codebase is
much faster if all of these can be done with a single invocation, but
there will be multiple translation units where one or more symbols are
not found.

Old behavior was to exit with an error (default) or exit without
reporting an error (-force). New behavior is that -force results in a
best-effort rename: rename symbols which are found and just ignore the
rest.

The existing help for -force sort of already implies this behavior.

Saleem Abdulrasool 94bb1a06fb CodeGen: correct arguments for NSFastEnumeration
When performing a NSFastEnumeration, the compiler synthesizes a call to
`countByEnumeratingWithState:objects:count:` where the `count` parameter
is of type `NSUInteger` and the return type is a `NSUInteger`. We would
previously always use a `UnsignedLongTy` for the `NSUInteger` type. On
32-bit targets, `long` is 32-bits which is the same as `unsigned int`.
Most 64-bit targets are LP64, where `long` is 64-bits. However, on
LLP64 targets, such as Windows, `long` is 32-bits. Introduce new
`getNSUIntegerType` and `getNSIntegerType` helpers to allow us to
determine the correct type for the `NSUInteger` type. Wire those
through into the generation of the message dispatch to the selector.

Vedant Kumar 747b0e2905 [Coverage] Precise region termination with deferred regions (reapply)
The current coverage implementation doesn't handle region termination
very precisely. Take for example an `if' statement with a `return':

  void f() {
    if (true) {
      return; // The `if' body's region is terminated here.
    }
    // This line gets the same coverage as the `if' condition.
  }

If the function `f' is called, the line containing the comment will be
marked as having executed once, which is not correct.

The solution here is to create a deferred region after terminating a
region. The deferred region is completed once the start location of the
next statement is known, and is then pushed onto the region stack.
In the cases where it's not possible to complete a deferred region, it
can safely be dropped.

Testing: lit test updates, a stage2 coverage-enabled build of clang

This is a reapplication but there are no changes from the original commit.
With D36813, the segment builder in llvm will be able to handle deferred
regions correctly.

Jonathan Roelofs b780c8ac75 Fix ARM bare metal driver to support atomics
The new bare metal support only supports the single thread model. This causes
the builtin atomic functions (e.g.: __atomic_fetch_add) to not generate
thread-safe assembly for these operations, which breaks our firmware. We target
bare metal, and need to atomically modify variables in our interrupt routines,
and task threads.

Internally, the -mthread-model flag determines whether to lower or expand
atomic operations (see D4984).

This change removes the overridden thread model methods, and instead relies on
the base ToolChain class to validate the thread model (which already includes
logic to validate single thread model support). If the single thread model is
required, the -mthread-model flag will have to be provided.

As a workaround "-mthread-model posix" could be provided, but it only works due
to a bug in the validation of the -mthread-model flag (separate patch coming to
fix this).

Summary:
So far we used a value of 10 which was useful for testing but produces many false-positives in real programs. The usual suspicious clones we find seem to be at around a complexity value of 70 and for normal clone-reporting everything above 50 seems to be a valid normal clone for users, so let's just go with 50 for now and set this as the new default value.

This patch also explicitly sets the complexity value for the regression tests as they serve more of a regression testing/debugging purpose and shouldn't really be reported by default in real programs. I'll add more tests that reflect actual found bugs that then need to pass with the default setting in the future.

Hal Finkel c9fac9e151 [CodeGen] Treat all vector fields as mayalias
Because it is common to treat vector types as an array of their elements, or
even some other type that's not the element type, and thus index into them, we
can't use struct-path TBAA for these accesses. Even though we already treat all
vector types as equivalent to 'char', we were using field-offset information
for them with TBAA, and this renders undefined the intra-value indexing we
intend to allow. Note that, although 'char' is universally aliasing, with path
TBAA, we can still differentiate between access to s.a and s.b in
  struct { char a, b; } s;. We can't use this capability as-is for vector types.

An implementation of ubsan runtime library suitable for use in production.

Minimal attack surface.
* No stack traces.
* Definitely no C++ demangling.
* No UBSAN_OPTIONS=log_file=/path (very suid-unfriendly). And no UBSAN_OPTIONS in general.
* as simple as possible

Minimal CPU and RAM overhead.
* Source locations unnecessary in the presence of (split) debug info.
* Values and types (as in A+B overflows T) can be reconstructed from register/stack dumps, once you know what type of error you are looking at.
* above two items save 3% binary size.

When UBSan is used with -ftrap-function=abort, sometimes it is hard to reason about failures. This library replaces abort with a slightly more informative message without much extra overhead. Since ubsan interface in not stable, this code must reside in compiler-rt.

Summary:
This adds a test that checks if the using declaration in classes still works as intended with modules.

The motivation for this is that we tried to add a shortcut to `removeDecl` that would skip the removal of declarations from the lookup table if they are hidden. This optimization passed the clang test suite but actually broke the using declaration in combination with -fmodules-local-submodule-visibility. In this mode we hide all decls from other modules such as by chance the parent method, in which case don't remove the parent method from the lookup table and get ambiguous lookup errors. After this patch we now correctly see if this behavior is broken by a patch like this in the test suite.

Michal Gorny 62dc83b9b7 Reland r311836 - [Driver] Use arch type to find compiler-rt libraries (on Linux)
Use llvm::Triple::getArchTypeName() when looking for compiler-rt
libraries, rather than the exact arch string from the triple. This is
more correct as it matches the values used when building compiler-rt
(builtin-config-ix.cmake) which are the subset of the values allowed
in triples.

For example, this fixes an issue when the compiler set for
i686-pc-linux-gnu triple would not find an i386 compiler-rt library,
while this is the exact arch that is detected by compiler-rt. The same
applies to any other i?86 variant allowed by LLVM.

This also makes the special case for MSVC unnecessary, since now i386

Faisal Vali 5f5b29dd22 Don't see through 'using member-declarations' when determining the relation of any potential implicit object expression to the parent class of the member function containing the function call.
Prior to this patch clang would not error here:

  template <class T> struct B;

  template <class T> struct A {
    void foo();
    void foo2();

    void test1() {
      B<T>::foo(); // OK, foo is declared in A<int> - matches type of 'this'.
      B<T>::foo2(); // This should be an error!
                    // foo2 is found in B<int>, 'base unrelated' to 'this'.
    }
  };

  template <class T> struct B : A<T> {
    using A<T>::foo2;
  };

Faisal Vali 13624cf980 Pass the correct object argument when a member call to an 'unrelated' class is made.
Prior to this patch, clang would do the wrong thing here (see inline comments for pre-patch behavior):

  struct A {
    void bar(int) { }
    static void bar(double) { }

    void g(int*);
    static void g(char *);
  };

  struct B {
    void f() {
      A::bar(3);  // selects (double) ??!!
      A::g((int*)0); // Instead of no object argument, states conversion error?!!
    }
  };

The fix is as follows: When we detect that what appears to be an implicit member function call (A::bar) is actually a call to a member of a class (A) unrelated to the type (B) that contains the member function (B::f) from which the call is being made, don't treat it (A::bar) as an Implicit Member Call Expression.

P.S. I wonder if there is an existing bug report related to this? (Surprisingly, a cursory search did not find one).

This patch adds a flag -fclang-abi-compat that can be used to request that
Clang attempts to be ABI-compatible with some older version of itself.

This is provided on a best-effort basis; right now, this can be used to undo
the ABI change in r310401, reverting Clang to its prior C++ ABI for pass/return
by value of class types affected by that change, and to undo the ABI change in
r262688, reverting Clang to using integer registers rather than SSE registers
for passing <1 x long long> vectors. The intent is that we will maintain this
backwards compatibility path as we make ABI-breaking fixes in future.

The reversion to the old behavior for r310401 is also applied to the PS4 target
since that change is not part of its platform ABI (which is essentially to do
whatever Clang 3.2 did).

Alex Lorenz 6cc8317c38 [IRGen] Evaluate constant static variables referenced through member
expressions

C++ allows us to reference static variables through member expressions. Prior to
this commit, non-integer static variables that were referenced using a member
expression were always emitted using lvalue loads. The old behaviour introduced
an inconsistency between regular uses of static variables and member expressions
uses. For example, the following program compiled and linked successfully:

struct Foo {
   constexpr static const char *name = "foo";
};
int main() {
  return Foo::name[0] == 'f';
}

but this program failed to link because "Foo::name" wasn't found:

struct Foo {
   constexpr static const char *name = "foo";
};
int main() {
  Foo f;
  return f.name[0] == 'f';
}

This commit ensures that constant static variables referenced through member
expressions are emitted in the same way as ordinary static variable references.

'\r' in CRLF, making the preprocessor's printed value give the wrong line number
when returning from an include. For example:

(line 1):#include <noline.h>\r\n

The "file exit" code causes the printer to try to print the 'returned to the
main file' line. It looks up what the current line number is. However, since the
current 'token' is the '\n' (since only the \r was consumed), it will give the
line number as '1", not '2'. This results in a few failed tests, but more
importantly, results in error messages being incorrect when compiling a

Saleem Abdulrasool 5a3e50a3e6 ObjC++: decorate ObjC interfaces in MSABI properly
`id` needs to be handled specially since it is a `TypedefType` which is
sugar for an `ObjCObjectPointerType` whose pointee is an
`ObjCObjectType` with base `BuiltinType::ObjCIdType` and no protocols
and the first level of pointer gets it own type implementation. `Class`
is similar with the `ObjCClassType` as the base instead.

The qualifiers on the base type of the `ObjCObjectType` need to be
dropped because the innermost `mangleType` will handle the qualifiers
itself.

`id` is desugared to `struct objc_object *` which should be encoded as
`PAUobjc_object@@`.  `Class` is desugared to `struct objc_class *` which
should be encoded as `PAUobjc_class@@`.

We were previously applying an extra modifier `A` which will be handled
during the recursive call.

This now properly decorates interface types as well as `Class` and `id`.
This corrects the interactions between C++ and ObjC++ for the type
specifier decoration.

Nico Weber 699670e764 Implement CFG construction for __try / __except / __leave.
This makes -Wunreachable-code work for programs containing SEH (except for
__finally, which is still missing for now).

__try is modeled like try (but simpler since it can only have a single __except

contain declarations). __leave is implemented similarly to break / continue.

Use the existing addTryDispatchBlock infrastructure (which
FindUnreachableCode() in ReachableCode.cpp uses via cfg->try_blocks_begin()) to
mark things in the __except blocks as reachable.

Re-use TryTerminatedBlock. This means we add EH edges from calls to the __try
block, but not from all other statements. While this is incomplete, it matches
LLVM's SEH codegen support. Also, in practice, BuildOpts.AddEHEdges is always
false in practice from what I can tell, so we never even insert the call EH
edges either.
