Sam McCall 93cd159ca9 [clangd] Remove `allCommitCharacters`
This was added in 2a095ff6f5, however it never worked with VSCode
due to bugs in vscode-languageclient
(https://github.com/microsoft/vscode-languageserver-node/issues/673).
Now that it does work, we can tell the interactions with text editing, with
snippets, and vscode's select-first-completion behavior are bad.

The spec is vague and clients could do something reasonable with the
current values. However they could clearly do something unreasonable
too, and over time behavior+spec tends to converge on VSCode's behavior.

This addresses https://github.com/clangd/vscode-clangd/pull/358
See also https://github.com/clangd/vscode-clangd/pull/358 which hotfixes
this on the client-side (as we can't apply this change retroactively to
clangd 12-14).

Sam McCall 57ee624d79 [cmake] Provide CURRENT_TOOLS_DIR centrally, replacing CLANG_TOOLS_DIR
CLANG_TOOLS_DIR holds the the current bin/ directory, maybe with a %(build_mode)
placeholder. It is used to add the just-built binaries to $PATH for lit tests.
In most cases it equals LLVM_TOOLS_DIR, which is used for the same purpose.
But for a standalone build of clang, CLANG_TOOLS_DIR points at the build tree
and LLVM_TOOLS_DIR points at the provided LLVM binaries.

Currently CLANG_TOOLS_DIR is set in clang/test/, clang-tools-extra/test/, and
other things always built with clang. This is a few cryptic lines of CMake in
each place. Meanwhile LLVM_TOOLS_DIR is provided by configure_site_lit_cfg().

This patch moves CLANG_TOOLS_DIR to configure_site_lit_cfg() and renames it:
 - there's nothing clang-specific about the value
 - it will also replace LLD_TOOLS_DIR, LLDB_TOOLS_DIR etc (not in this patch)

It also defines CURRENT_LIBS_DIR. While I removed the last usage of
CLANG_LIBS_DIR in e4cab4e24d, there are LLD_LIBS_DIR usages etc that
may be live, and I'd like to mechanically update them in a followup patch.

Sam McCall 9c9119ab36 [clangd] Extend SymbolOrigin, stop serializing it
New values:
- Split Dynamic into Open/Preamble
- Add Background (previously was just Unknown)
- Soon: stdlib index

This requires extending to 16 bits, which fits within the padding of Symbol.
Unfortunately we're also *serializing* SymbolOrigin as a fixed 8 bits.

Stop serializing SymbolOrigin:
- conceptually, the source is whoever indexes or *deserializes* a symbol
- deserialization takes SymbolOrigin as a parameter and stamps it on each sym
- this is a breaking format change

Sam McCall 9cc08cb02f [clangd] Add integration test for crash handling
This replaces the test removed in 51be7061d0
It is more principled and tests more critical cases: a crash while parsing.

We need two pieces of plumbing:
 - a way to re-enable the crashing #pragmas via a flag, to test parse crashes
 - a bit of reshuffling around ASTWorker execution so that we set up the
   crash handler in both sync/async modes.
   Sync mode is useful for debugging, so I tested both.

Emma Blink 045695f85c [clangd] Print current request context along with the stack trace
Motivation:

At the moment it is hard to attribute a clangd crash to a specific request out of all in-flight requests that might be processed concurrently. So before we can act on production clangd crashes, we have to do quite some digging through the log tables populated by our in-house VSCode extension or sometimes even directly reach out to the affected developer. Having all the details needed to reproduce a crash printed alongside its stack trace has a potential to save us quite some time, that could better be spent on fixing the actual problems.

Implementation approach:

* introduce `ThreadCrashReporter` class that allows to set a temporary signal handler for the current thread
* follow RAII pattern to simplify printing context for crashes occurring within a particular scope
* hold `std::function` as a handler to allow capturing context to print
* set local `ThreadCrashReporter` within `JSONTransport::loop()` to print request JSON for main thread crashes, and in `ASTWorker::run()` to print the file paths, arguments and contents for worker thread crashes

`ThreadCrashReporter` currently allows only one active handler per thread, but the approach can be extended to support stacked handlers printing context incrementally.

Example output for main thread crashes:

  ```
  ...
  #15 0x00007f7ddc819493 __libc_start_main (/lib64/libc.so.6+0x23493)
  #16 0x000000000249775e _start (/home/emmablink/local/llvm-project/build/bin/clangd+0x249775e)
  Signalled while processing message:
  {"jsonrpc": "2.0", "method": "textDocument/didOpen", "params": {"textDocument": {"uri": "file:///home/emmablink/test.cpp", "languageId": "cpp", "version": 1, "text": "template <typename>\nclass Bar {\n  Bar<int> *variables_to_modify;\n  foo() {\n    for (auto *c : *variables_to_modify)\n      delete c;\n  }\n};\n"}}}
  ```

Example output for AST worker crashes:

  ```
  ...
  #41 0x00007fb18304c14a start_thread pthread_create.c:0:0
  #42 0x00007fb181bfcdc3 clone (/lib64/libc.so.6+0xfcdc3)
  Signalled during AST action:
  Filename: test.cpp
  Directory: /home/emmablink
  Command Line: /usr/bin/clang -resource-dir=/data/users/emmablink/llvm-project/build/lib/clang/14.0.0 -- /home/emmablink/test.cpp
  Version: 1
  Contents:
  template <typename>
  class Bar {
    Bar<int> *variables_to_modify;
    foo() {
      for (auto *c : *variables_to_modify)
        delete c;
    }
  };
  ```

Testing:

The unit test covers the thread-localitity and nesting aspects of `ThreadCrashReporter`. There might be way to set up a lit-based integration test that would spawn clangd, send a message to it, signal it immediately and check the standard output, but this might be prone to raceconditions.

Sam McCall 588db1ccff [clangd] Use flags from open files when opening headers they include
Currently our strategy for getting header compile flags is something like:

A) look for flags for the header in compile_commands.json
   This basically never works, build systems don't generate this info.
B) try to match to an impl file in compile_commands.json and use its flags
   This only (mostly) works if the headers are in the same project.
C) give up and use fallback flags
   This kind of works for stdlib in the default configuration, and
   otherwise doesn't.

Obviously there are big gaps here.

This patch inserts a new attempt between A and B: if the header is
transitively included by any open file (whether same project or not),
then we use its compile command.

This doesn't make any attempt to solve some related problems:
 - parsing non-self-contained header files in context (importing PP state)
 - using the compile flags of non-opened candidate files found in the index

Sam McCall dd8fb21227 [clangd] Implement semanticTokens modifiers
- Infrastructure to support modifiers (protocol etc)
- standard modifiers:
  - declaration (but no definition, yet)
  - deprecated
  - readonly (based on a fairly fuzzy const checking)
  - static (for class members and locals, but *not* file-scope things!)
  - abstract (for C++ classes, and pure-virtual methods)
- nonstandard modifier:
  - deduced (on "auto" whose Kind is Class etc)
    Happy to drop this if it's controversial at all.
- While here, update sample tweak to use our internal names, in
  anticipation of theia TM scopes going away.

This addresses some of the goals of D77702, but leaves some things undone.
Mostly because I think these will want some discussion.
 - no split between dependent type/name.
   (We may want to model this as a modifier, type+dependent vs ???+dependent)
 - no split between primitive/typedef.
   (Is introducing a nonstandard kind is worth this distinction?)
 - no nonstandard local attribute
   This probably makes sense, I'm wondering if we want others and how
   they fit together.

There's one minor regression in explicit template specialization declarations
due to a latent bug in findExplicitReferences, but fixing it after seems OK.

Sam McCall ff4832dbff [clangd] Respect ReferencesParams.context.includeDeclarations
Unfortunately this treats overrides declarations as declarations, not as
references. I don't plan to land this until I have a fix for that issue.
