After a first attempt to fix the test-suite failures, my first recommit
caused the same failures again. I had updated CMakeList.txt files of
tests that needed -fcommon, but it turns out that there are also
Makefiles which are used by some bots, so I've updated these Makefiles
now too.
See the original commit message for more details on this change:
0a9fc9233e
This includes fixes for:
- test-suite: some benchmarks need to be compiled with -fcommon, see D75557.
- compiler-rt: one test needed -fcommon, and another a change, see D75520.
This reverts commit 0a9fc9233e.
Going to look at the asan failures.
I find the failures in the test suite weird, because they look
like compile time test and I don't understand how that can be
failing, but will have a brief look at that too.
This makes -fno-common the default for all targets because this has performance
and code-size benefits and is more language conforming for C code.
Additionally, GCC10 also defaults to -fno-common and so we get consistent
behaviour with GCC.
With this change, C code that uses tentative definitions as definitions of a
variable in multiple translation units will trigger multiple-definition linker
errors. Generally, this occurs when the use of the extern keyword is neglected
in the declaration of a variable in a header file. In some cases, no specific
translation unit provides a definition of the variable. The previous behavior
can be restored by specifying -fcommon.
As GCC has switched already, we benefit from applications already being ported
and existing documentation how to do this. For example:
- https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Gcc_10_porting_notes/fno_common

The tests that failed on a windows host have been fixed.
Original message:
Start setting dso_local for COFF.
With this there are still some GVs where we don't set dso_local
because setGVProperties is never called. I intend to fix that in
followup commits. This is just the bare minimum to teach
shouldAssumeDSOLocal what it should do for COFF.

Enums without an explicit, fixed, underlying type are implicitly given a
fixed 'int' type for ABI compatibility with MSVC. However, we can
enforce the standard-mandated rules on these types as-if we didn't know
this fact if the tag is not part of a definition.
llvm-svn: 249667
These test updates almost exclusively around the change in behavior
around enum: enums without a definition are considered incomplete except
when targeting MSVC ABIs. Since these tests are interested in the
'incomplete-enum' behavior, restrict them to %itanium_abi_triple.
llvm-svn: 249660
Several tests wouldn't pass when executed on an armv7a_pc_linux triple
due to the non-default arm_aapcs calling convention produced on the
function definitions in the IR output. Account for this with the
application of a little regex.

_Complex load/store didn't have their alignment set properly, which was visible when GCC's torture tests use volatile _Complex.
Update some existing tests to check for alignment, and add a new test which also has over-aligned volatile _Complex (since the imaginary part shouldn't be overaligned, only the real part).

not actually frequently used, because ImpCastExprToType only creates a node
if the types differ. So explicitly create an ICE in the lvalue-to-rvalue
conversion code in DefaultFunctionArrayLvalueConversion() as well as several
other new places, and consistently deal with the consequences throughout the
compiler.
In addition, introduce a new cast kind for loading an ObjCProperty l-value,
and make sure we emit those nodes whenever an ObjCProperty l-value appears
that's not on the LHS of an assignment operator.
This breaks a couple of rewriter tests, which I've x-failed until future
development occurs on the rewriter.

assignment to volatiles in C. This in effect reverts some of mjs's
work in and around r72572. Basically, the C++ standard is quite
clear, except that it lies about volatile behavior approximating
C's, whereas the C standard is almost actively misleading.

- This is designed to make it obvious that %clang_cc1 is a "test variable"
which is substituted. It is '%clang_cc1' instead of '%clang -cc1' because it
can be useful to redefine what gets run as 'clang -cc1' (for example, to set
a default target).
