This improves broadcast load folding of i64 elements on 32-bit
targets where i64 isn't legal.
Previously we had to represent these as vXf64 vbroadcast_loads and
a bitcast to vXi64. But we didn't have any isel patterns
looking for that.
This also allows us to remove or simplify some isel patterns that
were looking for bitcasted vbroadcast_loads.
llvm-svn: 373566
Summary:
This adds the ISD opcode and a DAG combine to create it. There are
probably some places where we can directly create it, but I'll
leave that for future work.
This updates all of the isel patterns to look for this new node.
I had to add a few additional isel patterns for aligned extloads
which we should probably fix with a DAG combine or something. This
does mean that the broadcast load folding for avx512 can no
longer match a broadcasted aligned extload.
There's still some work to do here for combining a broadcast of
a broadcast_load. We also need to improve extractelement or
demanded vector elements of a broadcast_load. I'll try to get
those done before I submit this patch.

Without AVX512DQ we don't have KMOVB so we can't really copy 8-bits of a k-register to a GPR. We have to copy 16 bits instead. We do this even if the DAG copy is from v8i1->v16i1. If we detect the (i8 (bitcast (v8i1 (extract_subvector (v16i1 X), 0)))) we should rewrite the types to match the copy we do support. By doing this, we can help known bits to propagate without losing the upper 8 bits of the input to the extract_subvector. This allows some zero extends to be removed since we have an isel pattern to use kmovw for (zero_extend (i16 (bitcast (v16i1 X))).

The assert that caused this to be reverted should be fixed now.
Original commit message:
This patch changes our defualt legalization behavior for 16, 32, and
64 bit vectors with i8/i16/i32/i64 scalar types from promotion to
widening. For example, v8i8 will now be widened to v16i8 instead of
promoted to v8i16. This keeps the elements widths the same and pads
with undef elements. We believe this is a better legalization strategy.
But it carries some issues due to the fragmented vector ISA. For
example, i8 shifts and multiplies get widened and then later have
to be promoted/split into vXi16 vectors.
This has the potential to cause regressions so we wanted to get
it in early in the 10.0 cycle so we have plenty of time to
address them.
Next steps will be to merge tests that explicitly test the command
line option. And then we can remove the option and its associated
code.

I'm not convinced the code this calls is properly vetted for
vXi1 vectors. Experimental vector widening legalization testing
for D55251 is now hitting an assertion failure inside
EltsFromConsecutiveLoads. This is occurring from a v2i1 load
having a store size different than its VT size. Hopefully
this commit will keep such issues from happening.

INC/DEC is really a special case of a more generic issue. We should also turn leas into add reg/reg or add reg/imm regardless of the slow lea flags.
This also supports LEA64_32 which has 64 bit input registers and 32 bit output registers. So we need to convert the 64 bit inputs to their 32 bit equivalents to check if they are equal to base reg.
One thing to note, the original code preserved the kill flags by adding operands to the new instruction instead of using addReg. But I think tied operands aren't supposed to have the kill flag set. I dropped the kill flags, but I could probably try to preserve it in the add reg/reg case if we think its important. Not sure which operand its supposed to go on for the LEA64_32r instruction due to the super reg implicit uses. Though I'm also not sure those are needed since they were probably just created by an INSERT_SUBREG from a 32-bit input.

We're better of emitting a single compare + kand rather than a compare for the
other use and a masked compare.
I'm looking into using custom instruction selection for VPTESTM to reduce the
ridiculous number of permutations of patterns in the isel table. Putting a one
use check on all masked compare folding makes load fold matching in the custom
code easier.

This patch adds scalar/subvector BROADCAST handling to EltsFromConsecutiveLoads.

This patch enables SimplifyDemandedBits to call SimplifyDemandedVectorElts in cases where the demanded bits mask covers entire elements of a bitcasted source vector.
There are a couple of cases here where simplification at a deeper level (such as through bitcasts) prevents further simplification - CommitTargetLoweringOpt only adds immediate uses/users back to the worklist when we might want to combine the original caller again to see what else it can simplify.
As well as that I had to disable handling of bool vector until SimplifyDemandedVectorElts better supports some of their opcodes (SETCC, shifts etc.).

AVX512F only has integer domain logic instructions. AVX512DQ added FP domain logic instructions.
Execution domain fixing runs before EVEX->VEX. So if we have AVX512F and not AVX512DQ we fail to do execution domain switching of the logic operations. This leads to mismatches in execution domain and more test differences.
This patch adds custom domain fixing that switches EVEX integer logic operations to VEX fp logic operations if XMM16-31 are not used.

llvm-svn: 329990
We swapped the operands and used setle, but I don't see any reason to do that. I think this is a holdover from SSE where we swap and the invert to use pcmpgt. But with AVX512 we don't want an invert so we won't use pcmpgt. So there's no need to swap.
llvm-svn: 325527
Summary:
This patch changes the signature of the avx512 packed fp compare intrinsics to return a vXi1 vector and no longer take a mask as input. The casts to scalar type will now need to be explicit in the IR. The masking node will now be an explicit and in the IR.
This makes the intrinsic look much more similar to an fcmp instruction that we wish we could use for these but can't. We already use icmp instructions for integer compares.
Previously the lowering step of isel would turn the intrinsic into an X86 specific ISD node and a emit the masking nodes as well as some bitcasts. This means DAG combines can't see the vXi1 type until somewhat late, making it more difficult to combine out gpr<->mask transition sequences. By exposing the vXi1 type explicitly in the IR and initial SelectionDAG we give earlier DAG combines and even InstCombine the chance to see it and optimize it.
This should make any issues with gpr<->mask sequences the same between integer and fp. Meaning we only have to fix them once.

We were previously using kunpck with zero inputs unnecessarily. And we had cases where we would insert into a zero vector and then insert into larger zero vector incurring two sets of shifts.
llvm-svn: 320244
For narrow sizes we'll widen the zero vector and widen the insert. Then do an extract_subvector to get back down to correct size.
This allows us to remove some patterns from the isel table that had to COPY_TO_REGCLASS to an oversized register, do the shift and then COPY_TO_REGCLASS back to the narrow register. Now this is represented explicitly in the DAG.
This seems to have perturbed the register allocation in one of the tests, but the number of instructions didn't change.
