Saleem Abdulrasool 16ff860469 remove use of Mutex in favour of std::{,recursive_}mutex
This is a pretty straightforward first pass over removing a number of uses of
Mutex in favor of std::mutex or std::recursive_mutex. The problem is that there
are interfaces which take Mutex::Locker & to lock internal locks. This patch
cleans up most of the easy cases. The only non-trivial change is in
CommandObjectTarget.cpp where a Mutex::Locker was split into two.

Pavel Labath ef984e7dc0 Revert "Add a read_full_buffer argument to ConnectionFileDescriptor::Read"
This reverts commit r268380 as it breaks windows build (I forgot to make neccesary adjustments to
ConnectionGenericFileWindows).

Pavel Labath 240760207e Add a read_full_buffer argument to ConnectionFileDescriptor::Read
Summary:
AdbClient was attempting to handle the case where the socket input arrived in pieces, but it was
failing to handle the case where the connection was closed before that happened. In this case, it
would just spin in an infinite loop calling Connection::Read. (This was also the cause of the
spurious timeouts on the darwin->android buildbot. The exact cause of the premature EOF remains
to be investigated, but is likely a server bug.)

Since this wait-for-a-certain-number-of-bytes seems like a useful functionality to have, I am
moving it (with the infinite loop fixed) to the Connection class, and adding an
appropriate test for it.

Kate Stone a11959dbf7 [Editline] Redesign automatic indentation fix command for robustness
The FixIndentationCommand implementation has proven to be fragile across various libedit iterations. This patch reworks the command to use the same basic strategy as when moving between lines in a multi-line edit session: when indentation changes are required, exit line editing completely and restart with amended content. This approach won't be susceptible to subtle behavior differences libedit has introduced over time.

Todd Fiala 0437f0351a Fix editline unindentation code for more recent libedits.
This code was modifying the cursor and then expecting the editline
API call to see the effect for the next operation. This is misusing
the API. Newer editlines break on this code, fixed by this.

Summary:
This should solve the issue of sending denormalized paths over gdb-remote
if we stick to GetPath(false) in GDBRemoteCommunicationClient, and let the
server handle any denormalization.

Pavel Labath 4446487d71 Improve LLDB prompt handling
Summary:
There is an issue in lldb where the command prompt can appear at the wrong time. The partial fix
we have in for this is not working all the time and is introducing unnecessary delays. This
change does:
- Change Process:SyncIOHandler to use integer start id's for synchronization to avoid it being
confused by quick start-stop cycles. I picked this up from a suggested patch by Greg to
  lldb-dev.
- coordinates printing of asynchronous text with the iohandlers. This is also based on a
(different) Greg's patch, but I have added stronger synchronization to it to avoid races.

Together, these changes solve the prompt problem for me on linux (both with and without libedit).
I think they should behave similarly on Mac and FreeBSD and I think they will not make matters
worse for windows.

Test Plan: Prompt comes out alright. All tests still pass on linux.

Justin Hibbits 3b2ce022f2 Cast EOF to get a proper comparison.
On PowerPC, and maybe some other architectures, 'char' is unsigned. Comparing
an unsigned char with a signed int (-1) is always false. To fix this, down-cast
EOF to a char.

Kate Stone 6d3dabc622 Workaround for what looks like an OS X-specific libedit issue
Other platforms may benefit from something similar if issues arise. The
libedit library doesn't explicitly initialize the curses termcap library,
which it gets away with until TERM is set to VT100 where it stumbles over
an implementation assumption that may not exist on other platforms.

Zachary Turner d553d00c79 Disable Editline on Windows.
Editline does not work correctly on Windows. This goes back at
least to r208369, and as a result r210105 was submitted to disable
libedit at runtime on Windows.

More recently, r222163 was submitted which re-writes editline
entirely, but makes the situation even worse on Windows, to the
point that it doesn't even compile. While it would be easy to
fix the compilation failure, this patch simply stops compiling
Editline entirely on Windows, as the simple compilation fix would
still result in a broken use of select on Windows, and as such a
broken implementation of Editline.

Since Editline was already disabled to begin with on Windows, we
don't attempt to fix the compilation failure or the underlying
issues, and instead just disable it "even more".

Kate Stone e30f11d9ee Complete rewrite of interactive editing support for single- and multi-line input.
Improvements include:
* Use of libedit's wide character support, which is imperfect but a distinct improvement over ASCII-only
* Fallback for ASCII editing path
* Support for a "faint" prompt clearly distinguished from input
* Breaking lines and insert new lines in the middle of a batch by simply pressing return
* Joining lines with forward and backward character deletion
* Detection of paste to suppress automatic formatting and statement completion tests
* Correctly reformatting when lines grow or shrink to occupy different numbers of rows
* Saving multi-line history, and correctly preserving the "tip" of history during editing
* Displaying visible ^C and ^D indications when interrupting input or sending EOF
* Fledgling VI support for multi-line editing
* General correctness and reliability improvements

Saleem Abdulrasool 78c135942d Host: unconstify editline paramters
Although the interface to el_push should be a constant parameter (as it is on
Darwin), certain Linux distributions currently ship a header which does not
provide proper const correctness. This causes compilation failures on Linux.
Strip the constness on the parameter, which whilst incorrect, is mostly
harmless. The parameter will not be changed by the interface and so it is
acceptable to do this. When distributions have updated to a more correct
declaration, it would be nice to revert this change.

Addresses PR18784.

Greg Clayton 10c0ef7b8a Pressing ^D in a non-empty input terminates LLDB. This was due to the fact that we stack more than one editline instance on top of each other and we still expect CTRL+D to exit the editline instance, but it should only do so when the line is empty. Otherwise it should (and does) delete the character at the cursor.

Greg Clayton 44d937820b Merging the iohandler branch back into main.
The many many benefits include:
1 - Input/Output/Error streams are now handled as real streams not a push style input
2 - auto completion in python embedded interpreter
3 - multi-line input for "script" and "expression" commands now allow you to edit previous/next lines using up and down arrow keys and this makes multi-line input actually a viable thing to use
4 - it is now possible to use curses to drive LLDB (please try the "gui" command)

We will need to deal with and fix any buildbot failures and tests and arise now that input/output and error are correctly hooked up in all cases.
