Anatoly Trosinenko 19e75717ef [MSP430] Declare comparison LibCalls as returning i16 instead of i32
For TI's distribution of msp430-gcc
```
msp430-elf-gcc -S -o- -Os -x c - <<< "int f(float a, float b) { return a != b; }"
```
does not mention `R13` at all. `__libgcc_cmp_return__` machine mode is 2 byte on MSP430, as well.

Anatoly Trosinenko cb56fa2196 [MSP430] Update register names
When writing a unit test on replacing standard epilogue sequences with `BR __mspabi_func_epilog_<N>`, by manually asm-clobbering `rN` - `r10` for N = 4..10, everything worked well except for seeming inability to clobber r4.

The problem was that MSP430 code generator of LLVM used an obsolete name FP for that register. Things were worse because when `llc` read an unknown register name, it silently ignored it.

That is, I cannot use `fp` register name from the C code because Clang does not accept it (exactly like GCC). But the accepted name `r4` is not recognised by `llc` (it can be used in listings passed to `llvm-mc` and even `fp` is replace to `r4` by `llvm-mc`). So I can specify any of `fp` or `r4` for the string literal of `asm(...)` but nothing in the clobber list.

This patch replaces `MSP430::FP` with `MSP430::R4` in the backend code (even [MSP430 EABI](http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slaa534/slaa534.pdf) doesn't mention FP as a register name). The R0 - R3 registers, on the other hand, are left as is in the backend code (after all, they have some special meaning on the ISA level). It is just ensured clang is renaming them as expected by the downstream tools. There is probably not much sense in **marking them clobbered** but rename them //just in case// for use at potentially different contexts.

joanlluch d384ad6b63 [TargetLowering][DAGCombine][MSP430] Shift Amount Threshold in DAGCombine (4)
Summary:
Replaces
```
unsigned getShiftAmountThreshold(EVT VT)
```
by

```
bool shouldAvoidTransformToShift(EVT VT, unsigned amount)
```
thus giving more flexibility for targets to decide whether particular shift amounts must be considered expensive or not.

Updates the MSP430 target with a custom implementation.

This continues D69116, D69120, D69326 and updates them, so all of them must be committed before this.

Existing tests apply, a few more have been added.

joanlluch e0012c5d6a [TargetLowering][DAGCombine][MSP430] Shift Amount Threshold in DAGCombine (3)
Summary:
Additional filtering of undesired shifts for targets that do not support them efficiently.

Related with  D69116 and  D69120

Applies the TLI.getShiftAmountThreshold hook to prevent undesired generation of shifts for the following IR code:

```
define i16 @testShiftBits(i16 %a) {
entry:
  %and = and i16 %a, -64
  %cmp = icmp eq i16 %and, 64
  %conv = zext i1 %cmp to i16
  ret i16 %conv
}
define i16 @testShiftBits_11(i16 %a) {
entry:
  %cmp = icmp ugt i16 %a, 63
  %conv = zext i1 %cmp to i16
  ret i16 %conv
}
define i16 @testShiftBits_12(i16 %a) {
entry:
  %cmp = icmp ult i16 %a, 64
  %conv = zext i1 %cmp to i16
  ret i16 %conv
}
```
The attached diff file shows the piece code in TargetLowering that is responsible for the generation of shifts in relation to the IR above.

Before applying this patch, shifts will be generated to replace non-legal icmp immediates. However, shifts may be undesired if they are even more expensive for the target.

For all my previous patches in this series (cited above) I added test cases for the MSP430 target. However, in this case, the target is not suitable for showing improvements related with this patch, because the MSP430 does not implement "isLegalICmpImmediate". The default implementation returns always true, therefore the patched code in TargetLowering is never reached for that target. Targets implementing both "isLegalICmpImmediate" and "getShiftAmountThreshold" will benefit from this.

The differential effect of this patch can only be shown for the MSP430 by temporarily implementing "isLegalICmpImmediate" to return false for large immediates. This is simulated with the implementation of a command line flag that was incorporated in D69975

This patch belongs to a initiative to "relax" the generation of shifts by LLVM for targets requiring it

As discussed on llvm-dev and:

In this case, the MSP430 target custom lowers shifts by repeating (many)
simpler/fixed ops. That can be avoided by keeping this code as setcc/select.

Nick Desaulniers 7ab164c4a4 [AsmPrinter] refactor to support %c w/ GlobalAddress'
Summary:
Targets like ARM, MSP430, PPC, and SystemZ have complex behavior when
printing the address of a MachineOperand::MO_GlobalAddress. Move that
handling into a new overriden method in each base class. A virtual
method was added to the base class for handling the generic case.

Refactors a few subclasses to support the target independent %a, %c, and
%n.

The patch also contains small cleanups for AVRAsmPrinter and
SystemZAsmPrinter.

It seems that NVPTXTargetLowering is possibly missing some logic to
transform GlobalAddressSDNodes for
TargetLowering::LowerAsmOperandForConstraint to handle with "i" extended
inline assembly asm constraints.

Francis Visoiu Mistrih b7cef81fd3 Replace "no-frame-pointer-*" function attributes with "frame-pointer"
Part of the effort to refactoring frame pointer code generation. We used
to use two function attributes "no-frame-pointer-elim" and
"no-frame-pointer-elim-non-leaf" to represent three kinds of frame
pointer usage: (all) frames use frame pointer, (non-leaf) frames use
frame pointer, (none) frame use frame pointer. This CL makes the idea
explicit by using only one enum function attribute "frame-pointer"

Option "-frame-pointer=" replaces "-disable-fp-elim" for tools such as

"no-frame-pointer-elim" and "no-frame-pointer-elim-non-leaf" are still
supported for easy migration to "frame-pointer".

Alexander Richardson 8f44579d0b Emit a left-shift instead of a power-of-two multiply for jump-tables
Summary:
SelectionDAGLegalize::ExpandNode() inserts an ISD::MUL when lowering a
BR_JT opcode. While many backends optimize this multiply into a shift, e.g.
the MIPS backend currently always lowers this into a sequence of
load-immediate+multiply+mflo in MipsSETargetLowering::lowerMulDiv().

I initially changed the multiply to a shift in the MIPS backend but it
turns out that would not have handled the MIPSR6 case and was a lot more
code than doing it in LegalizeDAG.
I believe performing this simple optimization in LegalizeDAG instead of
each individual backend is the better solution since this also fixes other
backeds such as MSP430 which calls the multiply runtime function
__mspabi_mpyi without this patch.

Daniel Neilson 1e68724d24 Remove alignment argument from memcpy/memmove/memset in favour of alignment attributes (Step 1)
Summary:
 This is a resurrection of work first proposed and discussed in Aug 2015:
   http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-dev/2015-August/089384.html
and initially landed (but then backed out) in Nov 2015:
   http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-commits/Week-of-Mon-20151109/312083.html

 The @llvm.memcpy/memmove/memset intrinsics currently have an explicit argument
which is required to be a constant integer. It represents the alignment of the
dest (and source), and so must be the minimum of the actual alignment of the
two.

 This change is the first in a series that allows source and dest to each
have their own alignments by using the alignment attribute on their arguments.

 In this change we:
1) Remove the alignment argument.
2) Add alignment attributes to the source & dest arguments. We, temporarily,
   require that the alignments for source & dest be equal.

 For example, code which used to read:
  call void @llvm.memcpy.p0i8.p0i8.i32(i8* %dest, i8* %src, i32 100, i32 4, i1 false)
will now read
  call void @llvm.memcpy.p0i8.p0i8.i32(i8* align 4 %dest, i8* align 4 %src, i32 100, i1 false)

 Downstream users may have to update their lit tests that check for
@llvm.memcpy/memmove/memset call/declaration patterns. The following extended sed script
may help with updating the majority of your tests, but it does not catch all possible
patterns so some manual checking and updating will be required.

 The remaining changes in the series will:
Step 2) Expand the IRBuilder API to allow creation of memcpy/memmove with differing
   source and dest alignments.
Step 3) Update Clang to use the new IRBuilder API.
Step 4) Update Polly to use the new IRBuilder API.
Step 5) Update LLVM passes that create memcpy/memmove calls to use the new IRBuilder API,
        and those that use use MemIntrinsicInst::[get|set]Alignment() to use
        getDestAlignment() and getSourceAlignment() instead.
Step 6) Remove the single-alignment IRBuilder API for memcpy/memmove, and the
        MemIntrinsicInst::[get|set]Alignment() methods.

Nirav Dave d839749ae8 [DAG] Improve Aliasing of operations to static alloca
Re-recommiting after landing DAG extension-crash fix.

Recommiting after adding check to avoid miscomputing alias information
on addresses of the same base but different subindices.

Memory accesses offset from frame indices may alias, e.g., we
may merge write from function arguments passed on the stack when they
are contiguous. As a result, when checking aliasing, we consider the
underlying frame index's offset from the stack pointer.

Static allocs are realized as stack objects in SelectionDAG, but its
offset is not set until post-DAG causing DAGCombiner's alias check to
consider access to static allocas to frequently alias. Modify isAlias
to consider access between static allocas and access from other frame
objects to be considered aliasing.

Many test changes are included here. Most are fixes for tests which
indirectly relied on our aliasing ability and needed to be modified to
preserve their original intent.

The remaining tests have minor improvements due to relaxed
ordering. The exception is CodeGen/X86/2011-10-19-widen_vselect.ll
which has a minor degradation dispite though the pre-legalized DAG is
improved.

Nirav Dave b320ef9fab Rewrite areNonVolatileConsecutiveLoads to use BaseIndexOffset
Relanding after rewriting undef.ll test to avoid host-dependant
endianness.

As discussed in D34087, rewrite areNonVolatileConsecutiveLoads using
generic checks. Also, propagate missing local handling from there to
BaseIndexOffset checks.

Tests of note:

  * test/CodeGen/X86/build-vector* - Improved.
  * test/CodeGen/BPF/undef.ll - Improved store alignment allows an
    additional store merge

  * test/CodeGen/X86/clear_upper_vector_element_bits.ll - This is a
    case we already do not handle well. Here, the DAG is improved, but
    scheduling causes a code size degradation.
