Chandler Carruth 7c80c3a8e4 [TI removal] Update the C API for the move away from `TerminatorInst`.
This updates the C API for the removal of `TerminatorInst`. It converts
the type query to a predicate query and moves the generic methods to
work on `Instruction` instances that satisfy this predicate rather than
requiring a specific type. It also clarifies that the C API wrapping
`BasicBlock::getTerminator` just returns an `Instruction`. Because this
was always wrapped opaquely as a value and the functions consuming these
values will work on `Instruction` objects, this shouldn't break any
clients.

This is a completely compatible change to the C API.

Francis Visoiu Mistrih 2e76cab47f Reland: [OptRemarks] Add library for parsing optimization remarks
Add a library that parses optimization remarks (currently YAML, so based
on the YAMLParser).

The goal is to be able to provide tools a remark parser that is not
completely dependent on YAML, in case we decide to change the format
later.

It exposes a C API which takes a handler that is called with the remark
structure.

It adds a libLLVMOptRemark.a static library, and it's used in-tree by
the llvm-opt-report tool (from which the parser has been mostly moved
out).

James Henderson e29e40854b Reland r342233: [ThinLTO] Allow setting of maximum cache size with 64-bit number
The original was reverted due to an apparent build-bot test failure,
but it looks like this is just a flaky test.

Also added a C-interface function for large values, and updated
llvm-lto's --thinlto-cache-max-size-bytes switch to take a type larger
than int.

The maximum cache size in terms of bytes is a 64-bit number. However,
the methods to set it only took unsigned previously, which meant that
the maximum cache size could not be specified above 4GB. That's quite
small compared to the output of some projects, so it makes sense to
provide the ability to set larger values in that field.

We also needed a C-interface function that provides a greater range
than the existing thinlto_codegen_set_cache_size_bytes, which also only
takes an unsigned, so this change also adds
hinlto_codegen_set_cache_size_megabytes.

This adds the plumbing for the Tiny code model for the AArch64 backend. This,

Andres Freund 376a3d3659 Add PerfJITEventListener for perf profiling support.
This new JIT event listener supports generating profiling data for
the linux 'perf' profiling tool, allowing it to generate function and
instruction level profiles.

Currently this functionality is not enabled by default, but must be
enabled with LLVM_USE_PERF=yes. Given that the listener has no
dependencies, it might be sensible to enable by default once the
initial issues have been shaken out.

I followed existing precedent in registering the listener by default
in lli. Should there be a decision to enable this by default on linux,
that should probably be changed.

Please note that until https://reviews.llvm.org/D47343 is resolved,
using this functionality with mcjit rather than orcjit will not
reliably work.

Disregarding the previous comment, here's an example:

Aaron Smith 23c2d1c15a [DebugInfo] Add a new DI flag to record if a C++ record is a trivial type
Summary:
This flag is used when emitting debug info and is needed to initialize subprogram and member function attributes (function options) for Codeview. These function options are used to create an accurate compiler type for UDT symbols (class/struct/union) from PDBs.

It is not easy to determine if a C++ record is trivial or not based on the current DICompositeType flags and other accessible debug information from Codeview. For example, without this flag the metadata for a non-trivial C++ record with user-defined ctor and a trivial one with a defaulted ctor are the same.

    struct S { S(); }
    struct S { S() = default; }

This change introduces a new DI flag and corresponding clang::CXXRecordDecl::isTrivial method to set the flag in the frontend.

David Blaikie 3d94e9f320 Split Disassembler.h in two to fix dependencies
Support includes this header for the typedefs - but logically it's part
of the MC/Disassembler library that implements the functions. Split the
header so as not to create a circular dependency.

This is another case where probably inverting the llvm-c implementation
might be best (rather than core llvm libraries implementing the parts of
llvm-c - instead llvm-c could be its own library, depending on all the
parts of LLVM's core libraries to then implement llvm-c on top of
them... if that makes sense)

This implements the DWARF 5 feature described at
http://www.dwarfstd.org/ShowIssue.php?issue=141215.1

This allows a consumer to understand whether a composite data type is
trivially copyable and thus should be passed by value instead of by
reference. The canonical example is being able to distinguish the
following two types:

  // S is not trivially copyable because of the explicit destructor.
  struct S {
     ~S() {}
  };

  // T is a POD type.
  struct T {
     ~T() = default;
  };

This patch adds two new (DI)flags to LLVM metadata: TypePassByValue

The behaviour now is that negative values set the maximum pruning interval (which appears to have been the intention from the start) see https://reviews.llvm.org/D41231.

I have adjusted the comments to reflect this, removed any inaccurate statements, and corrected any typos I spotted in the English.

Sanjay Patel b049173157 [SimplifyCFG] use pass options and remove the latesimplifycfg pass
This is no-functional-change-intended.

This is repackaging the functionality of D30333 (defer switch-to-lookup-tables) and
D35411 (defer folding unconditional branches) with pass parameters rather than a named
"latesimplifycfg" pass. Now that we have individual options to control the functionality,
we could decouple when these fire (but that's an independent patch if desired).

The next planned step would be to add another option bit to disable the sinking transform
mentioned in D38566. This should also make it clear that the new pass manager needs to
be updated to limit simplifycfg in the same way as the old pass manager.
