Samuel Antao 686c70c3dc [OpenMP] Parsing and sema support for target update directive
Summary:
This patch is to add parsing and sema support for `target update` directive. Support for the `to` and `from` clauses will be added by a different patch. This patch also adds support for other clauses that are already implemented upstream and apply to `target update`, e.g. `device` and `if`.

This patch is based on the original post by Kelvin Li.

Nemanja Ivanovic bb1ea2d613 Enable support for __float128 in Clang and enable it on pertinent platforms
This patch corresponds to reviews:
http://reviews.llvm.org/D15120
http://reviews.llvm.org/D19125

It adds support for the __float128 keyword, literals and target feature to
enable it. Based on the latter of the two aforementioned reviews, this feature
is enabled on Linux on i386/X86 as well as SystemZ.
This is also the second attempt in commiting this feature. The first attempt
did not enable it on required platforms which caused failures when compiling
type_traits with -std=gnu++11.

If you see failures with compiling this header on your platform after this
commit, it is likely that your platform needs to have this feature enabled.

Nico Weber 47bf505775 driver: Add a `--rsp-quoting` flag to pick response file quoting.
Currently, clang-cl always uses Windows style for unquoting, and clang always
uses POSIX style for unquoting.

With this flag, it's possible to change these defaults.

In general, response file quoting should match the shell the response file is
used in. On Windows, it's possible to run clang-cl in a bash shell, or clang in
cmd.exe, so a flag for overriding the default behavior is natural there.

On non-Windows, Windows quoting probably never makes sense (except maybe in
Wine), but having clang-cl behave differently based on the host OS seems
strange too. So require that people who want to use posix-style response
files with clang-cl on non-Windows pass --rsp-quoting=posix.

Summary:

This fixes an issue in response files where "\r\n" was being interpreted
as two EOL markers (i.e. we consumed the '\r' as terminating the
previous token, and then parsed the '\n' as a significant EOL). This
breaks response files where joined arguments get split across multiple
lines (like "-x\r\nc"). I also fixed an accidental issue in the
response-file.c test, where the response file is appended to, instead of
being overwritten.

It adds support for the __float128 keyword, literals and a target feature to
enable it. This support is disabled by default on all targets and any target
that has support for this type is free to add it.

Based on feedback that I've received from target maintainers, this appears to
be the right thing for most targets. I have not heard from the maintainers of
X86 which I believe supports this type. I will subsequently investigate the
impact of enabling this on X86.

Chris Bieneman 834a40b463 [Perf-Training] Reworked workflow improvements for order-file generation
This is re-landing r260742. I've reworked the conditionals so that it only hits when targeting Apple platforms with ld64.

Original Summary:
With this change generating clang order files using dtrace uses the following workflow:

cmake <whatever options you want>

ninja generate-order-file

ninja clang

This patch works by setting a default path to the order file (which can be overridden by the user). If the order file doesn't exist during configuration CMake will create an empty one.

CMake then ties up the dependencies between the clang link job and the order file, and generate-order-file overwrites CLANG_ORDER_FILE with the new order file.

Alexey Bader 954ba21f85 [OpenCL] Complete image types support.
I. Current implementation of images is not conformant to spec in the following points:
  1. It makes no distinction with respect to access qualifiers and therefore allows to use images with different access type interchangeably. The following code would compile just fine:

        void write_image(write_only image2d_t img);
        kernel void foo(read_only image2d_t img) { write_image(img); } // Accepted code

which is disallowed according to s6.13.14.

  2. It discards access qualifier on generated code, which leads to generated code for the above example:

        call void @write_image(%opencl.image2d_t* %img);

In OpenCL2.0 however we can have different calls into write_image with read_only and wite_only images.
Also generally following compiler steps have no easy way to take different path depending on the image access: linking to the right implementation of image types, performing IR opts and backend codegen differently.

  3. Image types are language keywords and can't be redeclared s6.1.9, which can happen currently as they are just typedef names.
  4. Default access qualifier read_only is to be added if not provided explicitly.

II. This patch corrects the above points as follows:
  1. All images are encapsulated into a separate .def file that is inserted in different points where image handling is required. This avoid a lot of code repetition as all images are handled the same way in the code with no distinction of their exact type.
  2. The Cartesian product of image types and image access qualifiers is added to the builtin types. This simplifies a lot handling of access type mismatch as no operations are allowed by default on distinct Builtin types. Also spec intended access qualifier as special type qualifier that are combined with an image type to form a distinct type (see statement above - images can't be created w/o access qualifiers).
  3. Improves testing of images in Clang.

Add parsing, sema analysis and serialization/deserialization for 'declare reduction' construct.
User-defined reductions are defined as

#pragma omp declare reduction( reduction-identifier : typename-list : combiner ) [initializer ( initializer-expr )]
These custom reductions may be used in 'reduction' clauses of OpenMP constructs. The combiner specifies how partial results can be combined into a single value. The
combiner can use the special variable identifiers omp_in and omp_out that are of the type of the variables being reduced with this reduction-identifier. Each of them will
denote one of the values to be combined before executing the combiner. It is assumed that the special omp_out identifier will refer to the storage that holds the resulting
combined value after executing the combiner.
As the initializer-expr value of a user-defined reduction is not known a priori the initializer-clause can be used to specify one. Then the contents of the initializer-clause
will be used as the initializer for private copies of reduction list items where the omp_priv identifier will refer to the storage to be initialized. The special identifier
omp_orig can also appear in the initializer-clause and it will refer to the storage of the original variable to be reduced.

Daniel Jasper 36e979af73 clang-format sort include use the source file name to determine the
"main include" that will be the 1st include (category 0).

Because the clang-format visual studio extension does not pass the file

Testing fix on llvm\tools\clang\lib\Format\Format.cpp:
Original file:
  #include "clang/Format/Format.h"

With fix, selecting the includes and running visual studio clang-format:
  #include "clang/Format/Format.h"
  ...
  #include "clang/Basic/SourceManager.h"
  #include "clang/Lex/Lexer.h"

Test 2 with main header not at the start:

Chris Bieneman 1681091991 [CMake] Improve the clang order-file generation workflow
Summary:
With this change generating clang order files using dtrace uses the following workflow:

cmake <whatever options you want>

ninja generate-order-file

ninja clang

This patch works by setting a default path to the order file (which can be overridden by the user). If the order file doesn't exist during configuration CMake will create an empty one.

CMake then ties up the dependencies between the clang link job and the order file, and generate-order-file overwrites CLANG_ORDER_FILE with the new order file.

ObjCPropertyQueryKind currently has 3 values:

This extra parameter specifies that we are looking for an instance property with

Erik Verbruggen 8f9d180f09 Show inclusions from a preamble in clang_getInclusions.
When reparsing a translation unit with preamble generation turned on,
no includes are found. This is due to the fact that all SLocs from
AST/PCH files are skipped as they are 'loaded', and inclusions from a
preamble are also 'loaded'. So, in case a file has a preamble, it first
needs to process those loaded inclusions, and then check for any local
inclusions. This latter one is for any includes that are not part of the
preamble, like includes half-way through a file.

This fixes PR24748.

Doing so required separating them so that the former doesn't inherit

So also:
- Remove a bunch of redundant functions (getExplicitTemplateArgs,
getOptionalExplicitTemplateArgs) on various Expr subclasses which
  depended on the inheritance relationship.
- Switched external callers to use pre-existing accessors that return the
data they're actually interested in (getTemplateArgs,

- Switched internal callers to use pre-existing getTemplateKWAndArgsInfo.

Benjamin Kramer 5c248d89f3 [libclang] Add a flag to create the precompiled preamble on the first parse.
Summary:
The current default is to create the preamble on the first reparse, aka
second parse. This is useful for clients that do not want to block when
opening a file because serializing the preamble takes a bit of time.
However, this makes the reparse much more expensive and that may be on the
critical path as it's the first interaction a user has with the source code.

YouCompleteMe currently optimizes for the first code interaction by parsing
the file twice when loaded. That's just unnecessarily slow and this flag
helps to avoid that.

Cwd::abs_path has a somewhat tricky semantics: if it's operand directory does not exist,
it'll return undefined (see https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=257568).
This may cause scan-build to silently ignore output directory (specified with -o) and

Nico Weber 373ee96e73 Update list of languages advertised in OVERVIEW: A tool to format C/C++/Java/JavaScript/Objective-C/Protobuf code.
If no arguments are specified, it formats the code from standard input
and writes the result to the standard output.
If <file>s are given, it reformats the files. If -i is specified
together with <file>s, the files are edited in-place. Otherwise, the
result is written to the standard output.

USAGE: clang-format [options] [<file> ...]

OPTIONS:
-assume-filename=<string> - When reading from stdin, clang-format assumes this
filename to look for a style config file (with
-style=file) and to determine the language.
-cursor=<uint> - The position of the cursor when invoking
                              clang-format from an editor integration
-dump-config - Dump configuration options to stdout and exit.
Can be used with -style option.
-fallback-style=<string> - The name of the predefined style used as a
fallback in case clang-format is invoked with
-style=file, but can not find the .clang-format
                              file to use.
                              Use -fallback-style=none to skip formatting.
-help - Display available options (-help-hidden for more)
  -i - Inplace edit <file>s, if specified.
-length=<uint> - Format a range of this length (in bytes).
Multiple ranges can be formatted by specifying
                              several -offset and -length pairs.
When only a single -offset is specified without
-length, clang-format will format up to the end
                              of the file.
Can only be used with one input file.
  -lines=<string> - <start line>:<end line> - format a range of
                              lines (both 1-based).
Multiple ranges can be formatted by specifying
                              several -lines arguments.
Can't be used with -offset and -length.
Can only be used with one input file.
-offset=<uint> - Format a range starting at this byte offset.
Multiple ranges can be formatted by specifying
                              several -offset and -length pairs.
Can only be used with one input file.
-output-replacements-xml - Output replacements as XML.
-sort-includes - Sort touched include lines
-style=<string> - Coding style, currently supports:
                                LLVM, Google, Chromium, Mozilla, WebKit.
Use -style=file to load style configuration from
.clang-format file located in one of the parent
directories of the source file (or current
                              directory for stdin).
Use -style="{key: value, ...}" to set specific
                              parameters, e.g.:
                                -style="{BasedOnStyle: llvm, IndentWidth: 8}"

regions in the order of the loop iterations.
Restrictions
An ordered construct with the simd clause is the only OpenMP construct that can appear in the simd region

Eric Christopher 74a7c5dc16 The Clang gcc-compatible driver (clang/tools/driver/driver.cpp) has some
logic to select an alternate target based on the executable it was
called as. For instance, if you symlink i686-linux-android-gcc to clang
and invoke it, the driver will act as though it were called with another
argument ("-target i686-linux-android"). This leads to visible effects
even in syntax-only compilations (like the ANDROID preprocessor symbol
being defined).

This behavior is not replicated for tool invocations--for instance,
clang::createInvocationFromCommandLine will not choose an alternate
target based on ArgList[0]. This means that configurations stored in
compilation databases aren't accurately replayed.

This patch separates the logic for selecting a mode flag and target from
the executable name into a new member function on ToolChain. It should
have no functional effects (but will allow other code to reuse the
target/mode selection logic).

Alexey Bataev 346265e3bc [OPENMP 4.1] Add 'threads' clause for '#pragma omp ordered'.
OpenMP 4.1 extends format of '#pragma omp ordered'. It adds 3 additional clauses: 'threads', 'simd' and 'depend'.
If no clause is specified, the ordered construct behaves as if the threads clause had been specified. If the threads clause is specified, the threads in the team executing the loop region execute ordered regions sequentially in the order of the loop iterations.
The loop region to which an ordered region without any clause or with a threads clause binds must have an ordered clause without the parameter specified on the corresponding loop directive.

Daniel Sanders 153010c52d Re-commit r247683: Replace Triple with a new TargetTuple in MCTargetDesc/* and related. NFC.
Summary:
This is the first patch in the series to migrate Triple's (which are ambiguous)
to TargetTuple's (which aren't).

For the moment, TargetTuple simply passes all requests to the Triple object it
holds. Once it has replaced Triple, it will start to implement the interface in
a more suitable way.

This change makes some changes to the public C++ API. In particular,
InitMCSubtargetInfo(), createMCRelocationInfo(), and createMCSymbolizer()
now take TargetTuples instead of Triples. The other public C++ API's have
been left as-is for the moment to reduce patch size.

This commit also contains a trivial patch to clang to account for the C++ API
change. Thanks go to Pavel Labath for fixing LLDB for me.

Chandler Carruth 9ade6a9a74 Fix a tiny bug in -no-canonical-prefixes that somehow we have never
noticed until now.

The code for setting up the driver's InstalledDir didn't respect
-no-canonical-prefixes. Because of this, there are a few places in the
driver where we would unexpectedly form absolute paths, notably when
searching for and finding GCC installations to use, etc. The fix is
straightforward, and I've added this path to '-v' both so we can test it
sanely and so that it will be substantially more obvious the next time
someone has to debug something here.

Note that there is another bug that we don't actually *canonicalize* the
installed directory! I don't really want to fix that because I don't
have a realistic way to test the usage of this mode. I suspect that
folks using the shared module cache would care about getting this right
though, and so they might want to address it. I've left the appropriate
FIXMEs so that it is clear what to change, and I've updated the test
code to make it clear what is happening here.

Douglas Gregor 9bda6cff20 C++ support for Objective-C lightweight generics.
Teach C++'s tentative parsing to handle specializations of Objective-C
class types (e.g., NSArray<NSString *>) as well as Objective-C
protocol qualifiers (id<NSCopying>) by extending type-annotation
tokens to handle this case. As part of this, remove Objective-C
protocol qualifiers from the declaration specifiers, which never
really made sense: instead, provide Sema entry points to make them
part of the type annotation token. Among other things, this properly
diagnoses bogus types such as "<NSCopying> id" which should have been
written as "id <NSCopying>".

Implements template instantiation support for, e.g., NSArray<T>*
in C++. Note that parameterized classes are not templates in the C++
sense, so that cannot (for example) be used as a template argument for
a template template parameter. Part of rdar://problem/6294649.

llvm-svn: 241545
2015-07-07 03:58:14 +00:00
Douglas Gregor e9d95f1ecc Handle Objective-C type arguments.
Objective-C type arguments can be provided in angle brackets following
an Objective-C interface type. Syntactically, this is the same
position as one would provide protocol qualifiers (e.g.,
id<NSCopying>), so parse both together and let Sema sort out the
ambiguous cases. This applies both when parsing types and when parsing
the superclass of an Objective-C class, which can now be a specialized
type (e.g., NSMutableArray<T> inherits from NSArray<T>).

Check Objective-C type arguments against the type parameters of the
corresponding class. Verify the length of the type argument list and
that each type argument satisfies the corresponding bound.

Specializations of parameterized Objective-C classes are represented
in the type system as distinct types. Both specialized types (e.g.,
NSArray<NSString *> *) and unspecialized types (NSArray *) are
represented, separately.

Douglas Gregor 85f3f9513d Parsing, semantic analysis, and AST for Objective-C type parameters.
Produce type parameter declarations for Objective-C type parameters,
and attach lists of type parameters to Objective-C classes,
categories, forward declarations, and extensions as
appropriate. Perform semantic analysis of type bounds for type
parameters, both in isolation and across classes/categories/extensions
to ensure consistency.

Also handle (de-)serialization of Objective-C type parameter lists,
along with sundry other things one must do to add a new declaration to
Clang.

Note that Objective-C type parameters are typedef name declarations,
like typedefs and C++11 type aliases, in support of type erasure.

Summary:
This affects other tools so the previous C++ API has been retained as a
deprecated function for the moment. Clang has been updated with a trivial
patch (not covered by the pre-commit review) to avoid breaking -Werror builds.
Other in-tree tools will be fixed with similar patches.

This continues the patch series to eliminate StringRef forms of GNU triples
from the internals of LLVM that began in r239036.

The first time this was committed it accidentally fixed an inconsistency in
triples in llvm-mc and this caused a failure. This inconsistency was fixed in
r239808.

Francisco Lopes da Silva 0c010cddb3 Improves overload completion result chunks.
The code building the code completion string for overloads was providing
less detail compared to the one building completion strings for function
declarations. There was no information about optionals and no information
about what's a parameter and what's a function identifier, everything
besides ResultType, CurrentParameter and special characters was classified
as Text.

This makes code completion strings for overload candidates to follow a
pattern very similar, but not identical, to the one in use for function
declarations:

 - return type chunk: ResultType
 - function identifier chunk: Text
 - parameter chunks: Placeholder
 - optional parameter chunks: Optional
 - current parameter chunk: CurrentParameter

Introduce SPIR calling conventions.

This implements Section 3.7 from the SPIR 1.2 spec:

SPIR kernels should use "spir_kernel" calling convention.
Non-kernel functions use "spir_func" calling convention. All

The patch works only for OpenCL source. Any other uses will need

convention correctly.

Summary:
Make DiagnosticsEngine::takeClient return std::unique_ptr<>. Updated
callers to store conditional ownership using a pair of pointer and unique_ptr
instead of a pointer + bool. Updated code that temporarily registers clients to
use the non-owning registration (+ removed extra calls to takeClient).

Richard Smith 0f0af19b05 [c++1z] N4295: fold-expressions.
This is a new form of expression of the form:

  (expr op ... op expr)

where one of the exprs is a parameter pack. It expands into

  (expr1 op (expr2onwards op ... op expr))

(and likewise if the pack is on the right). The non-pack operand can be
omitted; in that case, an empty pack gives a fallback value or an error,
depending on the operator.
